My go to place for fresh flounder. They als used to do a low country boil to go that was tasty. They do take a mid afternoon break in the afternoons for an hour for lunch so call ahead. read more

I have ordered a seafood boil before and it really lacked flavor and quality. The seafood itself is not tender and juicy like what you might find in other seafood markets, it also tasted rubbery and over cooked I couldn't even finish it. I recently stopped in again to give it another try and it still didn't meet the mark for me. I needed fresh fish for a fishfry and asked for pieces of various kinds of fish. To my surprise the pieces were already wrapped up in plastic so when I began to cook them I noticed pieces were cut up, falling apart and chopped up throughout the filet. I have never been to a market that wraps up the fish, that's the point of a market so you can observe what you're purchasing. The prices are not cheap so to see this was really disappointing. read more

Best seafood to go. The shrimp and fish platters are great. The food is seasoned well and the fries are cooked crispy. It's a great weekend meal for a rainy cold day. The prices are great too! One of the best parts too is you can see all the available fresh seafood for sale. Highly recommend this take out! read more

I'm so happy I found this fantastic fish market. Fresh fish, fresh fish, fresh fish! They scaled and butterflied it, then put that flavor goodness on it. Great selection, pricing and hours. read more

Update since my last review. I learned today that their shrimp are sourced from Florida, and thus are not local Georgia white shrimp. This is a travesty as we have local shrimp in the area, which is why I knocked my 5-star rating to 4-star. This remains an excellent source for fresh seafood. They also have a grill to fry up some of their seafood for takeout at a very reasonable price. I frequently forget about this when pondering where to order takeout lunch or dinner. LOW COUNTRY BOIL - a staple in the low country area. This is am easy way to enjoy this local treat, especially if you are only ordering for 1 or 2 people. You can avoid buying all the ingredients and taking time to steep in the boil. read more

Low country boil was fantastic, the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review was the butter was frozen still which is not a big deal but the damn crab cake. This is the worst crab cake I've ever had. It was fridge temp cold and maybe had a couple of slivers of crab meat. Complete waste of $6. read more

Pooler Seafood - Low Country Boil Dinner Platter - Seafood Markets Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

I did frequent this restaurant in the past, and haven't been too disappointed. They are a bit overpriced and their side dishes are not the greatest. However, their fresh fish prices are decent, and they are the only fresh seafood store in the Pooler area. I cook crab legs often. My family loves them! The pandemic has caused us to have to stay indoors, and I took a chance ordering seafood to be delivered through Pooler Takeout. The price of the crabs were $18.74 a pound. Very much overpriced being that Kroger and Publix are at $12 a pound. So you can understand my disappointment of these three tiny clusters. This order was $50. That price included the crab, service fee, and gratuity. I naively believed that if I called them, this would be rectified, but I was met with unprofessionalism and blatant disregard. I would never patronize them again. You are better ordering through instacart from your fellow grocer or traveling to Jackie's Seafood. Do not order delivery from them. They are taking advantage of the community! read more

Always fresh, always tasty! They always have a wide variety of fresh fish. My go to place, for seafood

Great service and good food! Everything I ordered was prepared fresh and was pippin hot. Price right too!

Been a lover of this place for years. Its normally busy, so if you dont call your order in you may have to wait. Normal wait is about 10 minutes, if you walk in. It's a traditional seafood market that cooks and serves seafood as well. I ordered the low country boil with snow crab and a lobster tail added. Total was 24 bucks. Unfortunately it was disappointing. Corn was tough and the shrimp was overcooked. I will chalk it up to them having a bad day as I've never had one this bad. read more

Pooler Seafood - Low country boil with snow crab and a lobster tail. 050118. - Seafood Markets Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

Went there this weekend. We ordered 3 different dinners. One fried scallop and fries, and 2 fried fish and shrimp. Upon entering the store your taken aback from the smell of fish. Fish stores should not smell like old fish!!!!!!! The scallops I received were the size of PEAS!!!!! They basically would amount to 3 regular size scallops from a regular seafood store or restaurant. They were BAY scallops, which are the size of peas, instead of being SEA scallops that are an inch thick and as round as a silver dollar. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! The two fried fish, and shrimp dinners had a very tasty white fish, but the smallest shrimp I've ever seen. The only way you could even get a shrimp taste was to eat four to six at a time. I am extremely disappointed, because the reviews we read really thought it was going to be over the top, instead of being what it was. Sorry we won't be back!!!!! read more

I have been using them for several years. I was there just last week. Paid for my purchase and didn't pay close attention to the receipt for several days. I was extremely pissed when I saw it. A damned 3% convenience fee was charged for using the credit card. It wasn't the relatively small amount that irked me. It was the fact that they now charge this. I looked at a receipt from January, and there was no fee. Not only that, I scan receipts, and going back to 2019 they never charged this fee. On top of that, there is no notice posted that they charge this. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF GEORGIA LAW REGARDING CHARGING THAT FEE. IT IS LEGALLY REQUIRED THAT THIS CHARGE BE POSTED IN A CONSPICUOUS LOCATION. If you are thinking that I didn't have a minimum purchase, my total, including tax and the illegal fee, was $20.15 If they are charging this, they are having financial problems. If they are having financial problems, what other cost savings measures might they be taking? Measures that might jeopardize your health. March 2022 is the last time I will patronize this establishment. read more

The first red flag was the awful smell when you walk in the door. Way stronger than any seafood place I've ever walked into. I wanted salmon and snapper. The fish was in a clear plastic bag wrapped up tight so you couldn't really see the meat like you can in normal seafood markets. I am pretty sure it's a bad idea to have the meat in a bag like that instead of having the filet on ice like normal and not wrapped up tight in a plastic bag like a quarter sack of weed. I get home and open the bag and instantly there's this strange smell and a big chunk of meat missing out of the fillet like someone had to surgically remove something. I tried washing it, but the smell was so Unusual, I ended up burying it in the backyard. I tried soap and rubbing alcohol to get the smell out of my fingers. I've never had this happen with salmon and I buy salmon all the time, mostly from Publix. I eventually had to use bleach to get the horrible smell off my fingers. From salmon! The meat was obviously rancid. Needless to say I will not be going back. read more

First time here and I must say it was worth stopping in. Had the low country boil and it is the best I have tried so far in the area. Just wish they had indoor seating as this would be a great place to eat with your friends. Lots of locals stopping by the entire time I ate my supper. Since its a great day here in November it wasn't bad sitting at the picnic table out side. They also sell seafood and will cook it for you while you wait. I will be making this place a weekly stop once I get moved in here!! read more

Pooler Seafood - Low country boil. - Seafood Markets Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

The food was good surprisingly. The only thing I didn't like about my platter was that the fried fish is fried fish nuggets. I felt like a kid eating fried fish nuggets, instead of a filet fried. Other than that, the taste was great, and fresh. The low boil was amazing. The crab legs, the amount of shrimp they give is impressive and the garlic cooked crabs were a delight. The order came up quick and the location was not busy. read more

These people can't be trusted. They lied to me while smiling. I ordered the fish and fries combo. After inquiry I learned the combo is served with "Swai" fish. Never having Swai, I requested tilapia or whiting fish for a more familiar taste. The cashier said she would honor my request. I received the fish in nugget form (I took it home though I thought it was odd). After tasting my meal I realized the fish in front of me taste unlike any fish I had before. This was because it was Swai...a fish I've never had until now. The bad part is I would have changed my meal to something else or paid an up charge to receive what I asked for if only I wasn't lied to. Bad customer service very dishonest. read more

This restaurant has no honesty or integrity. Whilst ordering a low country boil I notified the girl taking my order that I did not want nor did eat sausage. (I have not eaten red meats in 5yrs) The cashier acknowledged that she heard my request. Note the box also says "no sausage -ex shrimp" I assume the extra shrimp I received was very close to expiration. Note the shrimps with black tails and feet, there were numerous others that were so soft that the shrimp stuck to the shells. However I was not going to complain but instead eat around what wasn't edible. That's when I found SAUSAGE. The restaurant had tried to con me! Most likely they picked sausage out and the whole meal was prepared with it. The owner refused to refund me because I had already eaten the corn that was included with the meal :( read more

Awesome Awesome fresh fried fish to order. Will visit it again when I return back on vacation.

metro in savannah georgia was horrible will not be going back there. if the restaurants are upset about covid-19 the the nees to put on their (a- game) and get the job done correctly and that goes for customer service as well. read more

I would of given them 4 stars if they hadn't left off my crab legs and deveined the shrimp... Other than that it was a great "on the road" experience! The location is clean, not far from the interstate, and has great customer service. It was a last minute idea while on the way to Hilton Head!!! So I used Yelp and this was the closest location to us, but the great thing is I discovered Pooler!!! The new Pooler with stores, an outlet, and a few places to dine that I would like to try... Maybe my next review will be better!!! But I do recommend this location if you live in the area and want a low country broil, but be sure to ask if they devein the shrimp & double check your order!!! read more

My friend raved about this place and we had to try it since my husband LOVES seafood. The prices are so incredibly cheap and the food is VERY tasty. We tried the low country boil, crab cakes, and fried shrimp platter. Everything tasted better than if it was bought at a sit-down restaurant and for a third of the price! The people here are SO friendly. We'll become regulars here!!! read more

This is a seafood market that also sells cooked food. We stopped by for a quick lunch take-out. The employees were not very friendly, but took our order. We got our food pretty quickly. The price was good. We had fried shrimp and it was REALLY FRESH. The fries were also good. We also had a crab cake, and it had plenty of crab in it. The crab was fresh, but it had a bit too much seasoning (not spicy though) for my taste. I would stop by for a quick take-out lunch again, but not much else. read more

I ordered crawfish, boiled potatoes and corn. It was all pretty good, it wasn't the best crawfish I've ever had, but it was the cheapest and for the price you can't really complain!! I ordered 3# of crawfish, corn, frog legs, sausage, 2 orders of potatoes, a fried fish platter with fries, which fed 2 adults and 2 toddlers for about $40. Great prices, I think the only downside was that there is no dining area to stay and eat, only 2 chairs for waiting customers. read more

Okay, we have been here about a year and we went to Pooler Seafood for the first after moving and bought fresh fish. I thought it was clean, convenient and had decent service. I didn't think anything else about it. Tried the shrimp salad and it was good. We went back about three months ago, and had the fried fish, it was really good. Fries were soggy, but we took it home.....so that is to be expected. Tried them again tonight, we bought a fried fish platter, fried shrimp platter and a slice of crab pie. It was all delicious! There hot sauce was even good! I will definitely go back! read more
