Egg whites (2 orders), chicken sausage, fruit cup & sourdough
Siena F.

Very solid hotel restaurant, with great food and ambiance, but the accompanying prices/serving sizes to match. Our service was great; Jordyn (our waitress) was sweet, accommodating with substitutions and speedy to bring the food out! The food itself was pretty good -- I Frankenstein-Ed a meal out of side dishes (egg whites, fruit, chicken sausage & sourdough) and it was about $40 with tip. My friends got the potato hash which they said was good but they wished the serving size had been double for $38. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but don't regret the stop! The jazz brunch was also kind of interesting since we only got maybe 15 minutes of jazz, but the performer was very talented!

Excellent! So good, I went back two nights in a row. The first night I had homemade sourdough with butter to start, steak tartar, watermelon salad, ribeye, Brussel sprouts, and the banana dessert. EVERYTHING was delicious. The second night I repeated the Brussels and ribeye, and again started with the tartar. (One of the best tartars I've ever had) I was served both nights by Maria. She was well versed on the menu, friendly, and attentive. I definitely would recommend trying Fleeting out, even if you're not staying at the hotel. Both nights I went, it was 8:30 so the restaurant wasn't full, just about half full. The lighting and music are just high enough to be able to relax and enjoy conversation with you and your guests.

Cinnamon vanilla latte

Breakfast review. We were seated quickly for bunch on New Year's Day. I ordered the vanilla cinnamon latte and it was so delicious. We ordered the shrimp and grits as well as the croissant breakfast sandwich. Shrimp and grits was some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had . I have no idea how they got the grits to be that creamy! Do not miss this dish! My husband ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich with whipped feta and eggs ! This was so good. The croissant was from the bakery next-door and was so fresh and delicious. The whipped feta was absolutely delicious on it. Our only critique was that our server did not ask my husband if he wanted to add bacon or sausage to his croissant. Overall, the service was just a little bit slow, but the food was amazing .

Stayed at the Thompson for a few nights and decided to grab dinner at the hotel. Food was excellent and the service top notch. The Brunswick Shrimp Dip was arguably one of the best dips I've ever tasted. Fire grilled whole Snapper was fantastic. And the watermelon salad - perfect for a hot summer evening. Thanks for a memorable meal. Cheers!

We had such a wonderful experience at Fleeting for our anniversary this past weekend--everything from the food to the service to the dining room was spot-on. We started with the oysters and the sourdough, and wow... what a way to kick things off. The oysters were super fresh, and the sourdough had the perfect crusty outside with this soft, flavorful inside. It came with fresh salted butter that was so good we were basically scraping the plate! For mains, we shared the rib-eye and lamb chops--both were cooked to perfection. The rib-eye had this amazing sear and depth of flavor, and the lamb chops were super tender and juicy. We also added the sweet potato side, which was unexpectedly one of our favorite parts of the meal--just the right mix of savory and sweet, soft with a crunch. And then, to top it all off, the staff surprised us with a dark chocolate hazelnut torte for our anniversary dessert. It was rich, decadent, and absolutely delicious. Such a thoughtful touch and a perfect ending to an already amazing meal. The vibe at Fleeting is also worth mentioning--stylish, modern, and cool without feeling pretentious. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind the whole night. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend for a special occasion--or honestly, any time you want a memorable meal in Savannah!

Dozen oysters Two bumps of caviar Dirty martini Chicken sandwich

4-6pm fleeting hour is top tier, espresso martinis for $5 and dirty martinis for $10, $1.5 oysters, $8 caviar bumps, go early to sign up for free palm readying or tarot cards. Bartenders are great, very efficient and attentive. And the view of the river is fantastic especially if you can catch a container ship going by. After you can take a walk on the river and enjoy the sunset. This place fucks and I will be back to try and get a seat at the chefs table for dinner.

We had an amazing meal at Fleeting. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Reservations are needed. There is a large bar area for drinks and seating. I had the black grouper special and hubby enjoyed the mushroom pasta. The old fashion was fab and enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir with dinner. Delish dessert. Great for special occasions and date night. Enjoy!

Grilled Local Catch at Fleeting.

Have never stayed at a Thompson that did not have a great restaurant, and Fleeting was no exception to that trend. Dined there throughout our stay in Savannah, from breakfast to dinner. Favorite dish was this beautifully prepared Grilled Local Catch Fish.

Fleeting in Savannah is a gem! The service was top-notch, the food was absolutely delicious, and the decor is truly beautiful. It made for a wonderful dining experience.

We had a party six so everyone tried different meals. The two men had the steak which was served on top of mashed potatoes, although not very many mashed potatoes for a $40 + it was a tasty steak The women all choose less expensive meals and all seem to enjoy their meals. The service was good no complaints and our weight staff was very friendly being in a new restaurant. It had a nice ambience for people who enjoy sitting at the table and being able to watch what's going on in the kitchen that seems to be the big thing nowadays to me. It doesn't matter as long as the food is good hotel was nice which the restaurant is in and it's kind of a smaller cozy set up. two of us had dessert but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was, but I do remember thinking I should've ordered what the other person did. As for the main question would I eat here again? The answer is yes I will admit we stayed at the Hyatt and this restaurant is much better than the so-called restaurant in the Hyatt. Sorry didn't take any pictures.

Appetizer trio

After a long travel day and there being so much snow on the ground, we decided to just stay in and have dinner at our hotel. I wasn't really sure what to expect. When I tell you this place was AMAZING - I mean it! Folks, do not sleep on this restaurant! Everything we had was beyond delicious. I had the appetizer sampler that was suggested by our waitress. Every single bite exploded the perfect blend of flavors! My husband's steak was cooked to perfection! He could nearly cut it with his fork! He's certainly not a foodie and is very picky about his steaks but he's insisting we visit here again before we leave. I certainly hope we have time to! Oh, and the espresso martini? I've never had a more perfect one. Bravo, Fleeting! Bravo!

Wife and I drove up from Jacksonville to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in Savannah. It…read morewas difficult to pick a restaurant to have dinner at, because there's so many great choices in Savannah, but seeing that the minds behind Common Thread were recently semifinalists for Best Chef SE through the James Beard Awards, it ended up being my choice. I'm absolutely glad I picked it. Walking in, we were greeted with smiles. The house/restaurant was stunning. It was quirky but still had its charm. We were escorted to our table, which was an odd little table halfway up the stairs, away from everyone. We were told that table was meant of anniversaries/intimate events. It felt awkward at first but it ended up being fun people watching and listening in to conversations as people walked by. Colton was our server. He was great. Extremely knowledgeable. He walked us through the menu, offered great suggestions on food and wine, did a proper wine service, and even properly pronounced the region in which the wine was from. Colton definitely made us feel special and gave us an incredible experience. I'll definitely give it to Common Thread. The knowledge in which every staff member presented was incredible. As every person dropped off an item at the table, they accurately described the dish in detail before they walked away. I've been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years; serving, bartending, and managing numerous different types of restaurants, from casual to fine dining. I've opened up a few restaurants and have been a trainer as well. Common Thread is operating at a high level in terms of the staff's ability. The food: incredible. We started with one of each oyster, and it was insane how much flavor was packed in them. Our first course was also accompanied with the hand roll and the apple beet salad. The hand roll was fantastic. The beet salad felt like it needed some sort of acid/citrus with it, but still had great flavor. Course two was the mushroom cannelloni and the orecchiette. Both were phenomenal. My wife was obsessed with the cannelloni, the butternut squash puree was a perfect accompaniment. The pesto/parmesan foam on the orecchiette was an excellent touch. Course three we went against Colton's suggestion for the pork chop (almost got both, we were stuffed), and got the Ribeye. Great char, cooked perfectly. The peppercorn jus was an excellent topper for it. For dessert, we opted for the sticky toffee pudding. Although it wasn't sticky, the ginger pairing with it was an excellent touch. This is one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant. This will be a staple for us whenever we're back in Savannah and will definitely be asking for Colton again. He is the kind of server I'd like to have at my restaurant. Props to Common Thread, props to Colton.

Without going into excessive detail about our extensive notes (because everything is subjective and I don't want this review to sound super negative), we found the dishes were fine-to-good . . . but not quite where we thought they should be given the vaunted reputation of the establishment. (I'll note that from the reviews here and the professional reviewer buzz, our take is a minority one.) One thing I'll say in favor of Common Thread: my wife ordered a dish with which she has a lot of experience and the version the restaurant served (while made of high quality ingredients) was not of the preparatory style that she was expecting. The server noted she did not eat it and simply took it off the tab - well and professionally done.

This place delivers! We had a 6:45 reservation, showed up right on time and were seated immediately. Benjamin introduced himself and helped us find some drinks that we loved, the Polaris and the Castor. After he went over the evening's specials, he helped guide us through our selections for the night. Having some un-inspired oysters earlier in the week, we decided to do two of each of the three oysters of the night. They were perfectly cold, deliciously briny and expertly shucked. We added just a drop of minuet juice but the oysters were so clean and crisp, we didn't want to cover up any of the fresh taste. The winter salad was simple but delicious. The lamb and chicken were both tender and perfectly seasoned. The Wagyu had an amazing crust that added texture to a simple slice of beef and the cornbread dressing with scallops was an original take on familiar flavors playing well off each other. We ended with a lovely olive oil lemon cake. You can feel the love in the ingredients, the presentation and the service at The Grey.

Both dishes were very well prepared and felt thoughtfully put together without trying too hard. The fish on both plates was cooked correctly, portions were solid, and flavors worked well together. With my wife's gluten and dairy allergy, plus my tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal, and diabetes, we're usually a decent stress test for a kitchen. Staff handled questions professionally and didn't make ordering feel complicated. Atmosphere strikes a nice balance--upscale enough for a date night or business dinner, but still relaxed and comfortable. Service was attentive without hovering. The kindness and helpfulness of all of the staff from the moment we came in until we left was almost worth the experience itself. In a time where good service can be touch and go with dining, this stands out as exceptional for service. Our waiter was on top of taking great care of us the whole time, and brought a nice anniversary cookie to us to celebrate. He even added candy bars to our take home boxes as a special treat. The food was excellent. We almost loved the sides more than anything else that we tried. We shared and highly enjoyed the roasted brussels, broccolini, and cheese grits. The wings had a unique flavor. If you are used to buffalo wings, it's not quite like that taste. It is more of a spicy barbecue mixed with a little bit of Asian influence, but I'd say worth a try. The fried chicken was fresh and enjoyable. I especially appreciated the taste of the Mac and cheese. If you like Mac and cheese, it's very well done and worth a taste. The layout of the restaurant is great. Not a bad table or place anywhere. It can be a little noisy if very busy, but it died down while we were there as some started leaving. Definitely get reservations ahead of time like we did. 5 stars. Thanks for a great evening.

Finally, I just asked her to come up with a solution because we had 15 minutes to kill and they didn't have a waiting area. Funny enough, she decided then to get our table ready. It was just odd. Our server was from Ukraine so she was efficient and fast. Not super friendly or chatty with us which missed the mark on Southern hospitality and made our experience feel cold compared to our previous dinner experiences in town. I don't fault her for it though as she did her job. We ordered an excessive amount of starters and some of the entrees. The stand outs for me was the crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted bone marrow, steamed mussels, and grilled octopus. Skip any of the bread options. They weren't even toasted. For entrees, we also decided to share them. The pork chop and NY strip were stand outs. We ended up sending back the halibut. It tasted mealy and freeze burnt. Skip the crispy Japanese eggplant. I was expecting a grilled dish and it was actually fried with a thick batter. Too heavy for my liking. Overall, we enjoyed our meal but not somewhere I am dying to go back to.

He was in charge of giving us the spiel and answering our questions. A woman (I forget her name, sorry! But she was lovely) was in charge of running the food and clearing the plates. It was a very well run machine. The menu is pre set, but there were choices on some of the courses, like course where an option was a soft shelled crab - I definitely wanted to take advantage of that! We started off with Biscuits with butter and homemade orange marmalade, these were delightful, so fluffy and soft, and the marmalade was sweet, not bitter like it sometimes can be. The Amuse bouche was a trio of tiny items: a pimento cheese tart, a mussel with chipotle sauce and panko, and a square of salmon with mild wasabi and ginger. The salmon was definitely my favorite. The fifth course had a special as I noted before, so I opted to go for that, it was a soft shell crab with garlic, herbs and a vidalia onion slaw. Topped with peanuts and a white wine sauce. I think my favorite course of them all was the scallops with the carrots and the whipped ricotta - so simple but so delicious! Phenomenal special occasion place or just to cross off your bucket list. If I am in Savannah again (and the likelihood is high, its such an amazing city), I will be back.
