If you know about gluten-free bread and the heartache of searching for a decent slice, then you'll appreciate this bread on your sandwich. I got french fries which seems I have to order every single time even as I contemplate the healthier side choices. They were great, hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My friend got a side salad which she was happy with, obviously far more willpower than I have. She was not happy with the dressing she had chosen and the waitress happily brought her a different one. While we were there, I noticed everybody was working so hard and the customers all around us seem to be very much enjoying themselves. I don't know if this should really be relevant in my review but there was a group of four people who were sat down in a table nearby who upon being seated asked the waitress immediately if they could get their food quickly and she told them that it probably would not be as fast as they would like it. At which point they got up and left. The waitress seemed to feel bad about that, but when the manager came over to investigate, he simply took it in stride and then started to clean the table off for the next group. My friend and I had to wonder who would come into such a bustling and packed restaurant and think that they were going to get served especially fast. Another thing about we noticed about the manager is that he seemed very much hands-on and all over the place in the restaurant. He was very friendly when we looked at the check-in device and wondered what we were doing ~ he made jokes that made us feel less Luddite like. He bussed tables and sat people, and checked on things, and generally looked like the kind of manager of that Gordon Ramsay would appreciate. The menu has something for everybody! And some very exciting options that we have to go back and experience. Lots of add-ons for everything, a huge variety of choices. My sister-in-law had recommended the avocado toast, and I was tempted. I was also tempted by the biscuit and gravy and the eggs Benedict, which are hard for me to resist at brunch. but I reasonably only ordered one meal for me. It's been a long review, but I have to say the meal really was that good and the whole experience was very enjoyable. She asked us to give Noble Roots another chance, and because of how well she handled the situation, we will. Hopefully, our next visit will be a much better reflection of what Noble Roots has to offer.

My husband and I came into town for my grandsons birthday and Fathers Day weekend. My son and dauhter in law raved about the food at Metro as they ate there quite frequently, so we chose this for our Fathers Day breakfast. We arrived shortly after 8 the place was not too badly packed. We had a party of 14. We also called ahead.We waited PATIENTLY for almost an hour while they seated people ahead of us. All this time they could have seated us in different areas across from one another, but we were completely overlooked! The hostess continually told us we were at the top of the list and would be seated shortly. Instead another large party was seated ahead of us. We were very upset and voiced our irritation and the short rude guy who claimed he was the OWNER but dont know if he was actually manager/owner was nothing but completely rude and obnoxious to us. He had ZERO customer service, none and made no effort to make it right whatsoever!!!!. Instead of offering to do something for our wasted time and frustration watching everyone who walked in AFTER us be seated he told us to leave. Wow! This was the most unorganized establishment I have ever encountered. I have never been treated so terribly at a restaurant in my life!!! We will never come back when we are in Savannah and will most definitely not recommend to my family and friends. I intend on sharing this with the over 2k facebook friends I have as well as all of my social media as I wouldnt want this to happen to anyone else!!!!The owner/manager treated us horribly, completely unacceptable!! Since I found out about Metro Diner, I have never been more impress with service, and the smiles I have received. I have met the Owner Dennis and he is one of the most hard working men I have ever seen. I can not say enough about the food. More than enough, normally I bring supper home, but I have decided to try and cut back. As I mention the food is superb. Today I asked for a baked potato. I was surprise to learn this food is not offered. I wish they would add this item. Parking is also a problem. This is not their fault. I wish Tanger Outlet would allow more Handicap parking. I wonder if Metro Diner could offer valet parking for the handicap? This would be wonderful. read more

I love that the menu encourages you to try duck in different ways than you may be used to. I don't typically like ordering grilled cheese out since I make a pretty good one myself at home, but the duck grilled cheese called to me. I'm glad I answered because it was delicious! It had the right combo of cheeses, and the caramelized onion gave it that little pizzazz it needed. It went great with the tomato soup. My sister's duck tacos were also very good. They do a great job of cooking the duck well, which I don't think is easy. The bellinis weren't groundbreaking, but they were very fun, since there's different flavors to choose from and they come garnished with a little rubber duck.
