I've been here two weeks in a row! Thinking about making it my Sunday spot for lunch. This is a very nice buffet restaurant with just about everything you name it, it's on the bar fresh and hot! The servers are friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The food and hot and there's a variety to choose from. My favorite are the ribs, the sides are also Sunday dinner delicious. Popped in before shopping for breakfast. OH, MY GOODNESS - the selection was huge. Bacon crispy and perfect, any kind of sausage you could think of. Hash brown casserole better than Cracker Barrel! Cinnamon rolls - I wish I had a pan full right now. They even had fish and shrimp to go with a big pan of grits! Servers were attentive and helpful, too. This is a good restaurant with good food. The service is fair as well because you only need servers to refresh drinks, and they are very friendly. The restaurant is old and can use brightening up but I can overlook it as long as the food remains good. read more

No it's not a steakhouse BUT the southern-cooking food and service were amazing! Best fried chicken and mashed potatoes...delicious broccoli rice casserole and unbelievable pizza! 50/50 sweet tea and a sweet waitress puts this place over the top. Amazing people and amazing food! I spilled my ice cream on the buffet area and they were all saying "Don't worry about it! We will get it". That's not even all. It's OK. I personally don't like very old restaurants that still look old inside and outside. Reminds me of the 60s in more ways than one. I was with a friend that wanted a buffet breakfast. Chicken nuggets are great, taste like McDonald's. Overall the buffet food is OK if you're hungry, but I wouldn't run back nor would I ever suggest it. read more

I dined at Western Sizzling today with some folks, everyone left the table in slow motion from all that good food ... but before that happened, we ate some delicious southern cuisine. Everything was seasoned, fresh and delicious. They served baked chicken, fried chicken, lemon pepper wings, fried fish, baked fish, steak, all types of vegetables from green beans to crispy fried okra, and so much more. The salad bar had all the delicious fixings. The dessert bar was stocked as well. I had some taste like your grandma made it blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. The Western Sizzling team was welcoming, attentive, and they made sure our empty plates were removed promptly. I'll post pictures next time. read more

As we were entering the restaurant a group of people were coming out. They said, "the food is so good in there". They did not lie. Everything I put in my mouth was so good and flavorful. This was the dinner buffet. Best fried okra I've had in a long time. The waitress was very friendly. I did not know "Western Sizzlin" still existed. We were on vacation and one of the hotel staff recommended that we go there. So glad we did. The next time we go anywhere near Savannah, we will make a visit to this restaurant. read more

I wanted to give an updated review on our stop to Western Sizzlin today. I am a big review person and I was leary to stop but we wanted comfort food. the establishment was well maintained and clean inside. The bar was kept fully stocked and clean. The staff were nice. What I ate was very good and seasoned great! I a country girl from the deep south so yea we season our food. The fried chicken was amazing and that sweet potato caserole was everything. Has been over 20 years since i have been to a Western Sizzlin and do not lan on returning for another 20 years. Service was good. It was very quick although they did bring the wrong drink it was quickly corrected. Food was not good. Most of it was tasteless and poor quality. The cereal was stale, the fresh fruit was not very fresh, and the hash brown casserole was a glop of potato. To be fair the fresh grapefruit was good. The price is good if you want to eat there. read more

They have stepped up their game here. There's a salad bar, as well as three hot bars this evening. Selections included fish, fried or broiled, roast beef, ribs, steak tips, fried shrimp, pork chops, and chicken, fried or baked. Veggiesincluded a broccoli cheese casserole, Lima beans, green beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, Black eyed peas... I don't remember everything. I really have no idea how this place stays in business but.... I went here tonight as a quick fix for the family. The kids eat free and it's less than $30 for 2 adults. They had some sort of beef patty that was horrible and the ribs again were not good. They do however have excellent service and this place is spotless!! You could eat off of the floor. It seems like they struggle with the meat here. But I got some shrimp that was excellent. The baked spaghetti was fantastic too. The deserts are to die for. Apple cobbler, cinnamon rolls, various cookies, blueberry pie, peach cobbler, the list could go on. The fried shrimp this time tasted great. I had two servings and my daughter like it too. The food was not good. Everything was tasteless. The pork chops were under cooked but all the rest of the meats were dry and over cooked. The food quality was not consistent. One pan of something could be okay but the next pan taste completely different even the lemonade was not consistent. The service was good though. read more

The selection of food there is one of the problems there was just 3 to 4 bars no fruit, no good desserts(Other than the cherry cobbler) plus its so obvious that the vegetables came out of a can. Pre- covid visit My wife & I both got the buffet and, oh my gosh, everything was super delicious. Glad I decided against a steak. Forgot to take a picture but the buffet on Friday midday as I was traveling was plentiful with so many options. I was skeptical (of all buffets) but travel companions always stop here and I was was very pleased; was looking for softer foods that day (no fried chicken for me) and they had nice baked fish, okra and tomatoes and dozens of options: all kinds of meats, vegetables, starches, salads and desserts. I think I'll head to Pooler to the 8th Air Force Museum and have lunch at the Western Sizzling buffet! I think it'll be worth the trip! read more

Ok, fasten your seat belts, this is a bit unusual. It's a chain, right? Kind of like a Sizzler... But, the people there are SO friendly! It's 1 mile west of I-95, and we ALWAYS stop here when driving from DC to Orlando. It's the same offramp as the 8th Air Force Museum, I believe. So, what's so great? the steaks are good, slightly above average. The Chicken Stew/pot pie/thick soup thing is so good, it's amazing. We were driving down once with our golden retriever, and bought a cup of this Chicken Stuff to take out to him(see my pic). He wolfed it down like he hadn't eaten in a week. I've NEVER sen him eat like that before or since. So, take it from all of us- it's special. You don't even need a steak- the salad bar is VERY satisfying here, with plenty of non-salad-y things to eat there too. But, the people are really- really- SO nice. Thanks to everyone that makes our trips down I-95 so memorable! read more

I've always gotten good service but I saw a family with a baby sit at a dirty booth. The family apologized and cleaned it. The wait staff was so rude to them and ignored the table. Your welcome they did your job for you. Happy Easter to them. I don't support this behavior. read more

Trying to figure out why the ratings are low for this place, so i had to check it out for myself - mainly because i heard there was a buffet. The place was clean, the decor seems older but the food quality and selection was good. They had salisbury steak, turkey and gravy, friend and baked chicken, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, rice and gravy, all sorts of vegetables, ice cream and toppings, CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS, and other options. It wasnt busy at all when we went Sunday night. The value was good, service was great, and im looking forward to going back. I think i found my new favorite buffet spot in Pooler! read more

My bf took me to this throw-back from my childhood restaurant today and I have to say, I was horrified. The service was great and the buffet was well kept, or so we thought.....until he pulled a short hair out of his green beans. It happens, so we ignored it......until he took a big bite of his yeast roll and proceeded to pull a very long hair out of his mouth. We told our waitress who took it to the manager. The manager told her to apologize and they'd put new rolls out. Well, I guess that's good for the next people, but they didn't even offer him his meal or even a small token of a 5$ or 10$ off next meal coupon. Seriously?? The food isn't out of this world gourmet or anything BUT it's lots better than any other buffet I've been to in a long time. Great food for the price! We live close by and every few months we decide to give this place another try. For the quality of the food it is pricey. We usually get the buffet and for 2 adults and a small child it generally runs about $30 before a tip. (They charge more on the weekends and evenings) The food on the buffet is just okay. They usually have a few meat selections and the large majority of the rest of the food is carb heavy sides (stuffing, rice, mashed potatoes, mac&cheese) and there are a few veggies dripping in butter. Everything is so salty and tastes like it has been sitting under the heating lamps all day. There is a very small salad selection. read more
