I will update this review when I get back here to try some food because everything I saw looked amazing. The cocktails that we got were some of the best I have had in the city. The venue itself is really cool, it has a modern/new-age sort of vibe. read more

Really really bad place. All about service. Food was OK but when food is just OK service has to be great. Sat whilst waiter ran to other tables for 25 mins! It got so bad they had the hostess laying out silverware. Really incompetent. Leave it to the walk in tourists. Dreadful. read more

If you're into a great Boston vibe, and drinks that are made by the hardest working magicians you've ever laid your eyes on, this is the place. My sweetie and I were up for a fun, relaxing night on the town where we could get some great mixed drinks and have a good time. We loved the drinks, the snacks, and most of all, the barkeeps at the Met. Jared, Brian and Lillie were awesome, and we'd highly recommend this bar! read more

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and we dined in the Townhouse section. The entire evening was fantastic. The decor and ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner, and it was wonderful to have a leisurely meal. We never felt rushed by the waiter or ignored. I had the steamed lobster, lazy-man style, and it was very succulent. My girlfriend had the steak tips, and despite the fact that she ordered them well-done, they had a ton of flavor. For this, two starters, a shared dessert, and a bottle of wine, the price was really good - you're not going to get off cheaply but you're not going to feel cheated like you would at some other places. read more

This place is great for people watching on Newbury - awesome patio. The food is ok but kinda pricey. I'll definitely be back.

While it's a little pricey, I'd have to say it's worth it. The burgers here are fantastic. The chicken sandwich is also a favorite. Plus the environment and feel of the place is one of the best in Boston without a doubt and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. read more

Worst place I have ever been. The food, most importantly was horrible. The cob salad looked like a murder scene. The chicken looked and tasted boiled when I asked for grilled. What they listed as french toast was just toast. The waitress was very rude and didn't know what over hard eggs are. Never ever going there again. Oh and overpriced for crappy food.I wish I could rate it as 0 stars read more

The Met Back Bay is average at best. The food is mediocre and expensive. The service is slow. The outdoor seating on Newbury St is great, but that's about all The Met has going for it. I've eaten there twice and my 2 year old's grilled cheese was the tastiest thing on the table both times. Hit up Stephanie's or Joe's instead! read more

This place had a very decent burger selection. If you're a fan of burgers topped with a fried egg, try the Paris burger. I went for their brunch recently and enjoyed their bloody mary with a shrimp garnish. read more

We came here at the suggestion of our hotel and they definitely steered us right. Our server Ella was fantastic (We're all professional bartenders and she should teach a class) attentive, knowledgable, and engaging. The carpaccio was some of the best I've ever eaten, and the tuna was indescribably good. Simple fresh cooking, always the right way to go! read more

Amazing! Our first meal in Boston and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the avocado toast and turkey club sandwich - both were so fresh, came out in a reasonable time, huge portions and absolutely delicious. The drinks menu was extensive and well-priced. Highly recommend it. read more

AVOID. Horrible place. Save your money for something good. Chicken pie was a Luke warm thick creamy sauce only to find a few carrots and scarce pieces of chicken in it. They charged $16 for that. They served luke warm coffee and dry sesame sticks with sweet garlic butter. The whole experience was beneath anything that I had on Newburry St. read more

So I went to the Met last night for the many-ith time. I like to think of it as my neigborhood spot except they never remember me. I prefer to go downstairs to the bar area, get the lobster cheddar dip (that's reaaallll good) and a cocktail. They have a great arugula salad for the summer too. It's a solid spot that's convenient for me but certainly not worth making an extra trip. read more

lunch recently, pretty crowded place....we ate in the library which was a lovely smallish room (5 or 6 table with a small bar), the other room upstairs was large and seemed a little crowded and the big bar downstairs seemed just ok, not much atmosphere, do have outside seating which would be great on a really nice day, but give them credit there were a bunch or folks out there on this cook and blustery day....drinks were ok....my paris burger was very good and cooked as ordered, fish and chips were good but not great and sort of pricey i thought, service was good and they are smart enuf to give you a carafe of water on your table.....why doesn't everyone do that???? ok place.. read more

Hubby, daughter, and I came here during marathon weekend. Needless to say, they were extremely busy for brunch the day before the race. My hubby nabbed a table in the bar/lounge area downstairs. No reservation required, and he arrived early enough that it wasn't a problem. They had the poutine-like, breakfast fries. It was devoured before I arrived! Half pound burger, cheddar, fried egg, and red onion. They RAVED about it! I ordered the buttermilk pancakes and two poached eggs. To chase the fries, they split the arugula salad-trying to balance the fries....I will say my eggs were perfectly poached- not an easy feat! Pancakes were huge! and there were two of them, maybe 8 inches in diameter?!? They were slightly more done than I prefer and not very fluffy. I will say service was average. The server was definitely overwhelmed. Had to wave him down for water refills, and then there was a problem printing our check. He said the system crashed or something, so we had to wait additionally for that. Not sure if I would give them a second chance if in the area. There are so many other places to try! read more

We had a very poor brunch there Sunday, 25AUG19. Met Slam was both grossly overcooked (over light eggs were welded to the pan cooked completely through), sausage not cooked, fries greasy and limp, bacon burnt. Service was slack to say the least, person who took our order disappeared bartender served but never asked how food was despite mostly untouched plate. Simply terrible, I do not recommend. read more

It was really good ..had carbonara? With spaghetti..it was very heavy n cheesy so I wouldn't eat for Breakfast..food was great ...just the waiter didn't pack my food n packed the food that we didn't want ...so 4 stars cuz of the waiter read more

I went here for brunch, the food and service were great! We couldn't get outdoor seating because of the wait, but the indoor area's decor was amazing. Their burger was simple, yet juicy. read more

I've had a gift card for the Met restaurant group burning a hole in my pocket for some time now, so on a recent weekend decided that we would head over for brunch. The food lived up to expectations (really didn't have much of a doubt here) but just as satisfying was the people and decor-watching (i can be amused by a well decorated or architecturally interesting room for a fair amount of time). Service was first-rate as well - can't recommend this location enough. read more

Pretty mediocre food and experience for the higher prices. Our group shared a few things and the cauliflower side was flavorless and the Met Club Sandwich chicken was dry enough to package up and send overseas as food rations. Lunch was over $100, not worth it. read more

1st stop on our bar hop adventure in Boston, i ordered a Manhattan must say, it was worth every dollar! ($13). Atmosphere was calm and relaxed, you can hold a conversation without yelling. Classic rock playing, Celtics playoff game on. Felt like a true Boston neighborhood bar. Can't go wrong with that. read more

Awful service and rude, lots of great Boston locations , suggest others. Should consider more professional management.

Went here for Taco Tuesday with a group of people from work! Great tacos and great service right at the bar. The tacos were a deal and a good size for the price! Had a cocktail also and it was tasty! read more

My friend and I couldn't get into Saltie Girl so we found Met Back Bay around the corner. We got the mushroom flat bread, a salad, and the rice bowl. Honestly everything was slightly below average. The food was just meh. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. I would pass! read more

It's 50/50 here, I have to say. If you sit upstairs, in the cute little bar area, you're golden. It's charming, intimate, and the food is pretty good (...mostly in the fancy burger sense). If you go downstairs, things just seem to fall apart. It's a bit too dark, almost starts to feel like a pub, and the service is terrible. I'd be scared to come here with a party in the event that we never get waited on, because coming here just as two hasn't really given us much luck. Something you must try is the Paris burger (you can get it at any of their locations) It has Brie, fried egg, caramelized onion, and truffle mayo...that's right, I said truffle. For someone that isn't a huge burger fan, this is the closest thing to heaven I've ever tasted between two buns. read more

Two dollar Taco Tuesdays is a great deal! Def enough for a girl's dinner :) I ordered the skirt steak tacos which were a LITTLE undercooked but they never asked how I wanted them so that was fine. Very tasty! Tried the pork ones and didn't like the combo w the pineapple... a little dry too. ordered a 2.50 side of chips and salsa and it was basically like EXTRA chunky roasted veggies/salsa. SOOO good. wanted to eat it with a fork and no chips! Bartender was pretty slow and wines were overpriced. Good ambiance though on a rainy night. read more

Loved this place for brunch! We went with a big group while I was in town visiting friends and they put us by a big, sunny window. I love the interior of this place. We started with a round of their homemade biscuits which were so so good; definitely a good thing to start off with here. I got the "Something Natural" open-faced sandwich and loved it. It was really fresh, with hummus, cucumber, carrots, and avocado, sprouts and sunflower seeds layered on a thick piece of seven grain bread. Bread was a little hard but it was a light, but filling, meal that kept me going the whole day. They have a ton of great looking stuff on the menu so I would definitely come back. read more

The pork stuffed hash browns had me at hello. One of the best breakfast dishes I've had in a long time. I could have been a tad bit hotter, but I loved it. I wish I could have it every week. My guy got the breakfast burrito and was very pleased. A great place for a Saturday morning brunch near Newbury Street. read more

Not the greatest. Came here the other night with a friend. I know it was a Sunday but the place was DEAD. The food was just 'meh' and service was severly lacking. I hate when waiters forget bread and disappear for hours on end when there is literally NO ONE eating in the restaurant. I ordered a tuna dish-- it was just ok. There are wayyy too many good restaurants in Back Bay to waste a good meal here... wouldn't come back for dinner any time soon. read more

I really enjoyed the egg breakfast sandwich. It was good portions of everything. The potatoes were not so great though. They tasted like they were once frozen. The service was prompt but I also felt like the waitress was rushing people maybe unintentionally. read more

My husband and I had brunch here. I wish we had gone a bit later as we had to wait a half hour for it to get to 11 so that we could order cocktails. They have a nice outdoor seating area and the service was good. We both had omelets (3 cheese for me and ham and cheese for my hubby) with home fries. The home fries were nice and crispy with good spice, and the omelets were decent. read more

Really good but not what I was expecting. I have been to the MET Bar in Natick and am obsessed with the food, especially the Tokyo Burger... anyways, when I was near Newbury last night and craving a burger, and because it is such an awesome location and cool/modern space i went in. The food was great, don't get me wrong... i had the open faced Salmon roll and it was soooo good and a completely different take on the sushi role i know and love. My husband and other guests had the one burger on the menu and said it was great. Food was wonderful, atmosphere was wonderful, great location and is much larger inside than you think, with multiple bars... my only complaint.. .our server was a bit off. He wasn't very friendly, kind of hard to speak with, and we were at one of those huge booths for 6 and he kept insisting to take every plate, menu, napkin, anything really, that was no being used at that very second... almost to a rude and kind of ocd type of a feel. He even interrupted our conversations to get things that could have honestly just stayed there for a few minutes. Overall, really love. Will def be back to have a drink/eat outside when it is warm again, and will hang them sometimes. Just don't expect the same menu as in the other locations. read more

Overpriced brunch, but at least it's classy. I went with a friend on a Saturday morning; we'd made reservations, which was good because it was pretty crowded. I decided to get the green goddess kale salad and add an egg; my friend got the avocado toast. The salad was ok; to be honest I could've made a better one myself; it was also very expensive. There are much better brunch options in Back Bay, and especially in the rest of Boston. read more

We came last Wednesday night and first impression is the hostess is not friendly and is not welcoming. She was sour and unfriendly which is kind of the opposite of what you would expect. Thankfully our server and the food made up for it. Beyond huge parma and our server was eager to accommodate all our special requests. read more

I realized it must have been a long time since I wandered down that part of Newbury St b/c I was surprised to find that Met had replaced Joe's. Came here at around 6pm for happy hour/snacks and had no trouble finding a large table that could accommodate 6 people. The downstairs bar area seemed to fill up pretty quickly after though. As noted, it does have a very upscale feel and goes beyond your typical happy hour joint. They seemed to have a nice cocktail selection. I had one of the microbrews which was pretty tasty. Also had the kobe beef miniwiches and onion strings, both of which were pretty decent as compared to standard bar food. The thing that stuck out was our waitress seemed pretty aloof and inattentive. It took a while to get her attention on several occasions. read more

I had brunch at Met Back Bay last weekend, and was extremely impressed. I decided to order a turkey burger with traditional fixings, and was very impressed. It was quite delicious! After letting the waiter know that I had a nut allergy, he prepared me a side salad instead of the french fries that come with the burger. I will most certainly be back! read more

Go for Taco Tuesday. The pork tacos were awesome. Also ordered guacamole which was made perfectly (although the bottom of the bowl was filled with lettuce so it was slightly deceiving). The bartenders were on top of it and had a new drink ready for me as soon as I finished the last. Excellent service! read more

Bloodys are great but the food is inconsistent. Eggs Benedict had raw egg and potatoes were hard and undercooked.

Good drinks, good food. I've eaten brunch, lunch and dinner there, and each time was really good. Service has always been good as well. The place is pretty big so if you are having a hard time finding a place without a long wait I would definitely try this place. read more

Perfectly fine. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Obviously theyre known for their bloody mary's which is pretty cool if you like bloody mary's (I'm not a real fan). I was going to order a eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead of ham and it was an $8 upcharge which was frustration. For the folks playing at home that's a $22 eggs benedict. I can get lobster for less than that at many other places. So I went with the hen has instead which was really big and filling but I really do think this place is over priced, it was $16 for some chicken, potatoes, and cheese. My friend got the tips and eggs and the steak was really delicious and tender. The eggs is in the style of toad in the hole which is creative but it kind of seemed like two separate dishes, instead of the runny yolk complimenting the steak. The decor is beautiful though, the staff was very accommodating, and its a pretty big place. Again, nothing too special but pretty solid. A little overpriced for my taste. read more

Met Back Bay - Famous bloody mary! The burger is actually a pretty decent size (as you can tell). My friend really liked it! - New American Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts
