My mouths watering already just thinking about this spot! I stopped by here during SXSW and placed an order online to pickup. It was not only fast, but fresh and fantastic all around!! Initially this had the look and feel of trendy place that so often underwhelms on food. As soon as we walked in the greeting and interactions of the employees were very nice and genuine. And two hours later when we ate the food it by far exceeded my expectations. Everything was delicious and unique in a subtle way which is he's to do with something as simple as eggplant Parmesan- but even that had an unexpected bit of heat in the spice that was awesome. It was eaten two hours late because while waiting for the food my daughter shit her finger in their bathroom door. They were very helpful in providing ice and doing what they could at the time. Very nicely made sandwich! I feel that their mainstay is anything porchetta since they do it so well. The proprietor Ernesto describes his creation with knowledgeable details and enthusiasm! He recommended the sour dough grilled cheese porchetta sandwich that is put into his oven to warm up this creation and then into a panini press to give it a nice crunchy bread finish. He serves it on a cutting board with several sauces for dipping. If you are nice, he will even give you a crackling sampler on the side.....sh......This shop is a couple of blocks from the Colorado River and a stones through away from the Capitol. read more

Okay y'all. I've eaten here a few times and it's been incredible every time. I love the porchetta and kale Caesar but the meatball grilled cheese definitely has my heart. It comes with marinara and mustard and is ooey, gooey, and cheesy! Honestly every bite is incredible. I usually follow it with a Mexican coke and some chips. The service is incredible too!!!! I went up to Meat & Bread and was greeted in a friendly way to their place. Menu is Very Simple but oh so worth the trip. Small quick service restaurant has tables and chairs both inside and out. Located on a dead end so it's a peaceful atmosphere. Parking is a different story. Little to no parking. Parking on other streets. Perfect location for those @google or other businesses.
