Stopped in for breakfast on our way out of St. Augustine Beach to go home to NC. The drive thru took a little bit, but cars moved through at a good pace. This visit was on a Sunday morning and we had visited Thursday during lunch. Their coffee machine had been out of order during that entire time frame. Not sure how long before or after either. Seems as if McDonald's equipment is always needing repair. We also ordered two different chicken biscuits one was supposed to be the bigger one, and they just gave us two McChickens on their own. Do not give them a penny of your hard earned money!!! The worst!! I imagine whoever owns it doesn't care what we write. They own a multimillion dollar corner of real estate and taxes are low so this McD's is just a cash cow and they're milking it for every penny. They are not responding to our comments nor is corporate HQ bc the owners are not improving it and it appears they could care less about their customers (us). I ordered 2 frappes in drive thru. The first guy got it wrong about 4 times. Was he too buzzed?. It took over 10 minutes to be handed my fraps in middle of afternoon when it wasn't busy. I had to ask for it and saw she picked it up -- they were by a heat lamp just sitting there. She handed it to me wet and overflowed and sticky. I asked for a straw and she rolled her eyes and walked away returning in a few minutes. I looked at the patrons in cars behind me and could see their impatient gestures. I was running errands this morning and decided to stop for breakfast to take home. I ordered three hashbrowns and a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. When I got home I opened my bag and had one hash brown and a sausage biscuit, which I hate might I add!! Lesson learned I should've checked my bag before I left the drive-through... Nothing wrong with it, it just has a 1 person bathroom, and oddly helpful, a redbox. With fast good service and nothing wrong with the orders. Though they just call out the food you ordered instead of calling out a number when your order is ready. They seem to be unhappy which can effect the service, while it is very small and cramped, with good outside space to sit, has self serve soft drinks machine, unlike some McDonald's. Not many parking spaces, so I'd get there as fast as possible if you decide to go, but pretty empty, because most people are there for the bathrooms. This makes the bathrooms pretty crowded and since there is only 1 person bathrooms the wait can be very long, but all in all this McDonald is great! Though I do recommend looking into your bag before running off with your order, because mistakes could happen all the time! read more

Went to the drive thru for a quick frappe. I guess there is no such thing as quick at this location. Was chatting with my passenger when after about 10 minutes we realized we still had not received our order! No one was at the window and we saw our drinks sitting by the French fries getting toasty warm. We asked someone walking by for our drinks. Got them but no straws. Asked for straws. Had to wait for straws to be found. They can be elusive! There goes another 4 minutes of my life. Then asked for napkins and was told "we don't have any" Wow talk about lazy! They just remodeled the whole building and after a couple months of being open the ice cream machine "isn't working" I mean it may not being working today, but this is not the first time I've came to this McDonalds wanting ice cream and I was turned away because their machine is down. My friends and I showed up at 10:40 pm and as we walked in the manager yelled at us from the front "SO MUCH FOR US BEING CLOSED!" And would not let us leave after making us feel bad about coming in 20 minutes before they closed at 11pm and offering to leave! I am entirely disappointed in this manager's and associates' attitudes towards people who are paying their store! The manager continued to complain to us as we ordered and blamed her shitty attitude on her coworkers. The only 5 star thing about this place was the man who was taking out the trash who let us in and held the door for us, who's name was Robert. Typical food. My problem is the servers. Ordered a meal with "unsweet tea". Server kept punching in "sweet tea". Every time I corrected order, she changed food portion, but kept sweet tea. Absolutely horrible. This place should be shut down. Waited over 45 minutes for our order inside. Nothing too complicated either! Workers were yelling at each-other over a prior order loud enough for everyone to hear. Orders were constantly messed up and then the patrons were criticized that it was their fault. Many people came in and left within minutes of not being tended too. The woman supposedly behind the cash register was making food too and failed to Acknowledge new customers walking in . This was the worst McDonald's I've ever been in. On the way back from touring St. Augustine I stopped in to get a quick bite to eat. Not only was it dirty and run down, the employees couldn't be less interested in their job and being a good employee. All I wanted was an ice cream cone and they took 15 minutes. I even saw the manager come in as I was leaving looking hungover, followed by another employee eating a Dorito walking into the kitchen. This is definitely against health codes. The entry is awkward if more than one person is there waiting to order. We walked up to place our order and cashier at.the register was way rude. They were out of.what I wanted and when I was trying to look at the menu to re-think my order she kept sighing and them suggesting other things abruptly. I was obviously annoying her.because I was trying to figure it out what to order. She then began to spout out other options. She then said so "nicely" (sarcastic) said..well like i said we are out of.that and there is absolutely nothing I can do about that all with a not to pleasant attitude. I get they were out of what I wanted and i don't blame that cashier for that but, the attitude behind it was less than customer friendly. I get that McDonald's is a huge fast food chain but, every company starts somewhere and every unit that chain represents the brand. Customer's are the reason they are there in the first place. This place is a complete zoo. Upon entering you find a wide variety of animals, from the lazy gorilla girl sitting outside of her work station to the fat cows in the back who scream at each other from across the room. I recently came into this place for a job interview. It was disgusting, everyone was screaming over each other, making jokes about how I dressed for a job interview (apparently khakis and a button up shirt being worn voluntarily is quite humorous ); even my name seemed to make them giggle. Not so much annoying as it was just puzzling. Is the name Gregg that funny? The manager, who we'll call Jay, is incompetent and carries himself like half assed abortion matter. I ended the interview after the manager started being abrasive when I couldn't attend orientation at a specific time due to having college classes. HIGHER EDUCATION MATTERS PEOPLE. Just because you didn't attend college doesn't mean it isn't important for others. Single handedly the most embarrassing display of leadership and teamwork in any restaurant setting. You won't find slower service anywhere. I think that their idea of balance is for half of the meal to be undercooked and the other half over cooked. I had to eat my hot cakes with a spoon because they didn't tell me when I ordered that they had no knives or forks. Had I known that I would have ordered a breakfast sandwich. I would like to update you regarding the middle finger of a rubber glove in my Big Mac Sandwich at the McDonald's Restaurant in St. Augustine. I reported this restaurant to the Board Of Health. The Board Of Health told me that when a situation like this occurs, it usually has to do with a vengeful employee trying to get back at the management or the owner of the restaurant. Imagine if a little child had got a finger of a rubber glove in their sandwich. We all know that any child would have just kept on eating the sandwich. It would have been fatal. It would have been death. I also want everyone to know that as of to date, I tried to contact the management of this restaurant, and I also sent a certified letter to the owner. I have not had any response from either of them which leads me to believe that they don't care about this situation. Now I have taken this situation a little bit further. I wrote a letter about what happened to the St. Augustine Record and to the Jacksonville Times Union. I am also sending this letter to the television station (12 ON YOUR SIDE) with a picture of the rubber glove that was in my sandwich.
