The best aspect of MC Kitchen is its staff and our waiter was pleasant and helpful. Seating is also good here with tables nicely spaced. The food is not bad but relative to its price point it could use some improvements. The pastas we had were good with the pear pasta being the evening's standout. It was nicely flavored with a white truffle cream sauce and cooked al dente. I would go back just for that - and then I would leave. The tagliatelle pasta we had suffered from overcooking but the accompanying braised beef was good. It was the veal chop that was a disappointment and certainly didn't live up to its $58 price. It was dry, overcooked, fatty and lacking in flavor. What a waste. Dessert was okay but not enough to salvage a dinner that was uneven. read more

Fantastic! A very enjoyable evening with incredible food! A couple of Dogfishhead 61's and apps at the bar followed by dinner in the dining room. A party of 8 we sat down for a culinary road trip with chef Marino at the wheel. No easy decisions were available so we went family style with a pasta course followed by entrees all chefs choice. I have to give 3 stars due to service. The food was ok. We went to have lunch on Sunday with our out of town friends that were so excited to try this restaurant. I have to say very disappointed with the service. We have to wait 20 min for the French fries, and we had to asked 3 times for mayonnaise. I was expecting much more, specially because this is an expensive restaurant, located in a very hip area in miami which is the design district. I don't think that I will come back. To start off the service was very bad. We were asking the waiter some questions about the plates and how they come but he answered in a rude way and was rushing us to order. The waiter wasn't refilling our water even though he saw that we needed some water. The food wasn't really anything special. My whole family ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it was good but it wasn't anything too special the other things that there was pizza. Before the main course, my parents ordered a beef carpaccio and it was very good. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for tasting something extraordinary. read more

ahhhh Miami! with your overpriced, trendy, see and be seen restaurants, it's all about being cool, isn't it? MC came highly recommended but it was the usual meh Miami place. let me start with seating. i'm not that short! 5'2" and i'm not that old (not telling), but they sat us at a table with banquette seating. when i sat down on the cushioned seat, i sank down and then felt like a 3 year old as the table was too high. i grabbed the pillow behind me and sat on it. ok better except now i couldn't lean back. yea yea, i know i sound annoying but when paying $40 for a lunch that was a salad and tap water with 2 share desserts, i want to be comfortable, very comfortable. i ordered the Applewood smoked chicken salad. it was quite delicious but rather a small portion (i never complain about that) and where's the beef?!!! (very little chicken). 4 of us shared two desserts, neither were anything of great importance, cheese cake and gelato with biscotti (i wanted neither in truth) and so, with exception for my wonderful friends, it fell fairly flat. last but not least, they served coffee (cortadito) so so bitter (Kimbo) that we all returned ours. never heard of Kimbo and don't want to. even the cappuccino was returned. awful. lots of fun ppl to look at, located in a fantastic area but just not worth a visit IMO. read more

Solid eatery that hasn't disappointed. Classy ambiance fits in in high-brow Design District. An unexpected plus is the wide variety of Dogfish Head beers on draft. I'm glad to see a "fancy" restaurant that realizes the libation has graduated from the sports pub. 5 words: Roaster Pear And Cheese Fiocchi!!! Must order! Could not describe the taste, but definitely one that I won't forget! It's on the pricey side, however, worth what you're paying for. Had a girl's night here a few weeks ago. It has beautiful décor but I have to say it feels a little stuffy. We sat outside since we thought we might be a little loud and didn't want to disturb anyone. The service was good, we spent too much time gabbing and our poor server had to come 3 times to get our order. There are no bread baskets, I know, the worst. Especially for a fatty like me. They bring you one slice of bread, and that's it. The bread is amazing, like melt in your mouth best thing ever amazing. I had to ask for more, I told you I was a fatty. The server brought me one more single slice. Sigh. They have a pretty legit wine list we went with a sauvignon blanc for the table, moderately priced. I ordered the Roasted Pear and cheese Fiucci, wow, wow, wow. It was so yummy! Nothing on the dessert menu caught our attention so we opted out. Just happened to stop in here today with my cousin and we were just planning to get some drinks. The food smelled and looked so good, we couldn't resist trying it. So glad we did because we loved it. The drinks were great and the food was even better. The service wasn't too good but the food made up for it. I highly recommend the braised rabbit ravioli and the triple chocolate moose with passion fruit for dessert...trust me! Edit: I've been back about three other times and the service has really deteriorated (not that it was too good to start off with). The servers seem annoyed, like they don't want to be there, and weren't friendly. I understand if on one occasion the server might be having a bad day or something but this has happened on several occasions and with different waiters. It's really a shame cause the food is good. I think that if they placed more importance on their wait staff the whole experience at MC Kitchen would be much better. I actually had a much better experience while dining at the bar one time because the waiter was very friendly and attentive. read more

We had lunch on a Saturday and were very pleased with the service and the food. During lunch they only serve brunch on Saturday which was a little off putting on a but not a deal killer. I had the Snapper which is on the regular menu and it was so very fresh and delicious. My wife had a special for the day with scallops and she loved it. For appetizer I had the black mission fig pizzeta, its a doughy pizza but with some crisp to it that comes with marmalade, prosciutto, fontina cheese and urugula, enough said!! For the main course I tried the spaghetti misto di pesce which was basically a spaghetti with seafood and the roasted pear and cheese fiocchi that was pretty much a gnocchi with 4 different kind of cheeses (robiola, grana padano, ricotta and talleggio) topped with a white truffle cream, now this type of cheeses might sound a bit overwhelming but then you get this hint of a sweet roasted pear in it which was absolutely mind-blowing. Keep in mind that the pasta portions are small but absolutely worth it. I shared a 24 oz wagyu rib eye steak which was easily one of the best steak that I have ever tried and I don't say that lightly. It came accompanied with crispy mushrooms and sweet potatoes. Based on this experience I could easily say that MC kitchen was one of the best restaurants that I have eaten in Miami. read more

We have been here several times, most recently last night. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant from the food to the service. We started with the octopus and fig pizza. While the octopus was outstanding, the crust on the fig pizza was the best I've ever had. We learned that the person in charge of the pizza was the sous chef for Prime Fish, and he was temporarily at MC Kitchen for a while. Go there and get this pizza while he is still there!!! For entrees we had the bucatini carbonara and the short rib risotto (the special). The bucatini pasta with the soft boiled egg was dreamy and extremely fresh. My husband couldn't stop raving about the perfectly cooked mushrooms in his risotto. We ended our meals with the blood orange creme brulee and the polenta cakes with lemon cream. The creme brulee was a perfect ending. As much as I could rave about the food, the service was even better. Our server, Raul, was the star of the evening. He is so attentive and knowledgeable about the food, he is by far the best server we've had in Miami, if not, ever. His dedication to the restaurant's mission is evident and so much appreciated. While we didn't have wine last night, he has recommended us amazing affordable wines in the past. In fact, we enjoyed the wine so much, we found bottles of it later and bought them to have at home. We made a note in the online reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the manager and Raul both congratulated us several times. To make everything even more amazing, they comped both desserts and a bottle of Pellegrino. It was the perfect evening to celebrate. read more

This place never fails to impress. Especially love the chef's specials. On a recent visit the appetizer special was a remarkably crispy yet succulent serving of fried oysters. The white bean and turkey soup was lick the bowl delicious! Of course I didn't. The hogfish entree and risotto of the day were exquisite. I still fondly recollect a soft shell crab sandwich I had for lunch there a few months ago. MC only missed a perfect five stars because our red wine was served to warm. Absolutely love this place. Came here during Art Basel weekend with a few friends. First of all the beer on tap is amazing. They must have 30 different varieties of Dogfish Head beer (one of my favorites). If you got guts I suggest worlds end. The food was amazing. Started with a octopus risotto which was out of this world. Best octopus I've ever had. Soft tender and smooth smokey flavor. For the entre my girl and I split the bolonegse dish. Not a good planning indicator. Tried the pork ragu pasta instead. Tasty and filling, but on the plain side. Best part was the apple tart dessert! Since it opening I have frequented MC Kitchen and find the menu to be delightful. The oven roasted octopus is divine, the black mission fig pizza is beyond tasty and although no longer on the menu, the artichoke bruschetta was decadent. Having tasted almost everything on the menu... I have never been disappointed. The black grouper is savory and the Tennessee honey glazed pork chop is absolutely mouthwatering. The pasta is my favorite as I could literally eat the cavatelli and the garganelli bolognese every day for the remainder of my life. once you get to know the staff you might even be able persuade them to add a meat or chicken to add additional flavor. I recently tasted the steak pizza and it was incredible... the steak was perfect medium rare and the truffle oil added to the banana peppers is a masterpiece!! For the carnivore in you... I highly recommend the Wagyu Burger... melts in your mouth.. and the bone in ribeye is on another level... both medium rare.. Add some brussels sprouts & mushrooms and you will never eat a steak outside MC kitchen again. Even if you are just looking for a quick bite at the bar or a power work lunch... MC Kitchen has a diversified menu that appeals to all diners and the portions are excellent size. Lastly, the desserts are off the charts.. my personal favorite the Chocolate Budino. A chocolate connoisseur from birth... this is truly a decadent finale to the 3 course meal. The syrup and the bananas are the perfect combination along with a scoop of ice cream to satisfy any food junkie. and if you have any more room in the tank... grab the affogato with the espresso shot and biscotti.... a quick pick me up after a food coma of a meal..
