I really enjoyed Donatella! The restaurant itself is beautiful and has such a romantic, intimate atmosphere. The outdoor terrace is surrounded by those older, classic Miami Beach buildings, and with the dim lighting and warm string lights, it almost makes you feel like you're somewhere in Italy rather than Miami. It's very vibey and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. We ordered a little bit of everything pasta, steak, seafood, salad, calamari, and dessert and everything was honestly so good. The truffle pasta was one of my favorites, and the pistachio dessert was the perfect way to finish. Our server was great and very attentive, especially since someone in our group was lactose intolerant. They made sure she knew what she could eat and were really accommodating. We celebrated my friend's birthday here yesterday, and it's the kind of evening you find yourself still thinking about days later. The menu was incredible. The Wagyu carpaccio was extraordinary, perfectly thin, melt-in-your-mouth slices, very delicious. The lobster pasta was generous in every sense, deeply flavorful and with a good amount of lobster. The lemon pasta was very bright and citrusy reach, loved it in combination with black caviar. Our waiter Mitchell was attentive, genuinely knowledgeable, and took real pleasure in guiding us through the menu and suggesting cocktail pairings that complemented the food. The highlight of the evening, though, was entirely unexpected. The team surprised my friend with Italian birthday song, sung with such warmth. Gestures like that are very rare and feel genuinely special. This is the kind of restaurant that understands hospitality in the truest sense. We will absolutely be returning. Sooo I'm sure this restaurant's staff will never forget us.. we were there for a corporate dinner and my daughter had gotten food poisoning (before we knew what was going on) and she had made a mess. Out of all the Italian restaurants we passed walking, this beautiful restaurant caught my attention and I'm glad we chose to eat here. It was so beautiful and intimate with a Mediterranean style atmosphere. The menu had unique dishes and it was so hard to decide so we asked our server what he recommended and it was the lobster linguine. We got a couple dishes to share cuz we couldn't decide and glad we went with the lobster linguine and the grilled branzino. The lobster presentation was nothing what I would have expected, and that whole thing was gone except the shell, which I almost licked it clean because the sauce was light and flavorful without overpowering the lobster flavor. The grilled artichokes were a bit bland so I squeezed the grilled lemon from the branzino all over the artichokes and it made a huge difference. The fish was light and cooked to perfection and the homemade lemonade was fresh squeezed with a bit of sugar, nothing sweet at all. I wish we had room for dessert but unfortunately we were stuffed but I'll definitely return for the thin sliced red shrimp topped with beluga caviar! read more

I'm so glad that I made it to check this place out. The vibes and aesthetic are so good! It's essentially outdoor seating with an inside appearance. On a chilly night the heat lamps definitely will keep you warm. The service was top tier. I mean friendly, and very accommodating. Paolo our waiter was so great. Funny and a great baritone! Hahaha. I did not have a good experience at this restaurant. As this restaurant had my last review taken down I'd like to rewrite it to the truth of the "meal" The waitress was very nice and I left her a 80$ tip on top of the added gratuity. No idea why they'd "allegedly" go out of their way to get my review taken down, when truthfully my experience was awful and they know it. The focaccia was very good. The ambiance was nice. Other than that the burrata was bland, and once the dinner dish came "linguine with clams" it was inedible and fishy and chemical decomposition tasting. I got sick later in the evening. No comp on a free drink or desert after almost giving someone food poisoning. Then the pomodoro pasta was a total miss and not worth it. The owner or manager apologized but I don't care because the lack of care and freshness in the food was appalling and no one serious runs their kitchen that way. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to my opinion. As to why my experience was remover makes me wonder why... Whatever. Eat at your own risk and enjoy the fraudulent energy. read more

Although I've never been to Italy, this place is how I would expect Italy to be. The ambiance is truly fantastic. There are a wide variety of cocktails and they are stellar. The food is also so good. Everything from the foccaccia to the prosciutto and mozzarella to the entrees, to dessert, were superb. Service, impeccable (Nana was our server! Amazing.) A true gem. I'm lactose intolerant, but our server did an amazing job recommending dishes I could enjoy and went out of his way to make sure I avoided anything with dairy. I really appreciated the extra attention. The tomato pasta was delicious, you could really taste the freshness of the garlic and tomatoes. The waitstaff was attentive but there wasn't enough staff so we did have to wait a while for the bill and in between courses. We started with the trio of crudo which had a combination of Hamachi, tuna, salmon, in a citrus broth with chile pepper on top. The fish was fresh and i loved the variety. the tuna was my favorite. we also had the pear and goat cheese salad. we couldnt get enough of this salad i wish there was a bigger portion. the Dijon vinaigrette was to die for. The calamari was good, and so was the aioli, but the portion was very small. For proteins we had the branzino and the ribeye, each were cooked perfectly and were very good. I liked the soft garlic that it came with to put on top. For pastas we had the rigatoni and the cacio e pepe. Both were good, but we preferred the rigatoni. For dessert we had sweet cream gelato topped with pistachios. it was delicious. The gelato wasn't super sweet, and the pistachio added a nice crunch. The perfect end to a perfect night. read more

There has been a lot of press and social media for the new opening of Donatella on the beach from the former Versace Mansion team , so we decided to give it a try last Sunday with the Miami spice menu. We tried other items from the menu as well, wine, and cocktails. Firstly, the place is nice, but the glamour from pictures and articles that I anticipated is not there. Complementary table bread to start ? No !!! The miami spice menu is good. The food was very flavorful , we loved it. The steak was a very nice cut and very well prepared. The branzino was fresh and cooked to perfection. Sides ? No !! So we order the truffle cacio Pepe pasta. It was chessy at it should be, but the truffle flavor was not there, even though there were shaved truffle on the top. They informed us that there were not desserts, because the previous day dessert ran out, so they only have strawberry and pistachios ice cream . I asked if there were any other dessert from the regular menu even if we had to pay for it. No !! Dessert came and it was vanilla ice cream , with blackberries and blueberries on the top for what supposed to be strawberry, and crumble pistacho for what supposed to be the pistacho ice cream. And Also , what a surprise the next door table had regular dessert from the menu, even server kept insisting that a tart was ice cream. did anyone came to apologize for the inconvenience. No !! We started with cocktails. I was surprise they just had classic cocktails, no signature cocktails . The cocktails were good, but with an unnecessary high pricetag since ingredients were generic - but that is Miami for you. We accompanied the meal with wine. I was exciting the Miami new times considered the place had an affordable wine list. the lesss expensive was $72, and it was the same Montepulciano I got last week on total wine for $16.95. The service was Ok. Our server was in very "high" energy , sometime there, sometime no, repeating questions, and with continuous problems on the toast terminal to take the order. What a beautiful delicious restaurant. We arrived early and sat tucked into a corner outside. Our server who I wish I could remember his name (Italian with a ponytail) was amazing. He offered great suggestions and it seemed like we couldn't go wrong with whatever we ordered. We started with a salad that was so delicious and the octopus which wow! I've never had octopus better than that. I got the clam linguine which was delicious and fresh and already out of the shell! They did not skimp on the clam either. We celebrated a birthday here and they made us feel so special. The food was incredible and the service was by far the best in the city. We came in with a party of 8 and they handled our party well. Margaritas were perfect, martinis were perfect and everything in between. You'll understand why I'm using these words if you live in Miami and understand how rare it is to have quality all around.
