Out of all the Italian restaurants we passed walking, this beautiful restaurant caught my attention and I'm glad we chose to eat here. It was so beautiful and intimate with a Mediterranean style atmosphere. The menu had unique dishes and it was so hard to decide so we asked our server what he recommended and it was the lobster linguine. We got a couple dishes to share cuz we couldn't decide and glad we went with the lobster linguine and the grilled branzino. The lobster presentation was nothing what I would have expected, and that whole thing was gone except the shell, which I almost licked it clean because the sauce was light and flavorful without overpowering the lobster flavor. The grilled artichokes were a bit bland so I squeezed the grilled lemon from the branzino all over the artichokes and it made a huge difference. The fish was light and cooked to perfection and the homemade lemonade was fresh squeezed with a bit of sugar, nothing sweet at all. I wish we had room for dessert but unfortunately we were stuffed but I'll definitely return for the thin sliced red shrimp topped with beluga caviar!

This restaurant was beyond beautiful. The tried to embody Italy and did just that. I believe almost all their staff was Italian. The pasta was delicious, the steak even better. I would say this order the Ribeye over the New York steak , the Ribeye was much better!! overall 10/10

Although I've never been to Italy, this place is how I would expect Italy to be. The ambiance is truly fantastic. There are a wide variety of cocktails and they are stellar. The food is also so good. Everything from the foccaccia to the prosciutto and mozzarella to the entrees, to dessert, were superb. Service, impeccable (Nana was our server! Amazing.) A true gem. I especially loved that we didn't feel rushed at all. My one less than perfect item is that the lemon cake was a bit small for the price, but it was absolutely delicious.

Personally this became my top 10 places to eat in miami!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The service was impeccable, we had a private party area and our server Ryan was 1000/1000. The private room made the experience so much nicer, it was better to be with the friends. It has private bathrooms. NOW THE FOOD!! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, DELICIOUS, FLAVORFUL!! Not one thing didn't blow my mind, all ingredients imported from Italy. Eating family style is one of the best options

I'm so glad that I made it to check this place out. The vibes and aesthetic are so good! It's essentially outdoor seating with an inside appearance. On a chilly night the heat lamps definitely will keep you warm. The service was top tier. I mean friendly, and very accommodating. Paolo our waiter was so great. Funny and a great baritone! Hahaha. They sang the cutest rendition of happy birthday to me since my birthday was in a few days. The calamari and grilled octopus to start was delicious. French 75 was the drink of the night. Very good and strong. I then had the pasta in a creamy lemon sauce and added caviar and OMG the flavors were out of this world! Ended the night with the lemon cake which was also delicious. I can't wait to go back to have the same exact meal!

Perfect meal and best pasta I've ever had. Beautiful on the inside and can't wait to come back!

Celebrated my birthday dinner here with a few friends. Gorgeous venue! The staff was all very kind and attending and the food was delicious! We had the octo carpaccio, the salad was amazing, but the lemon pasta was absolutely divine (just add the caviar it's so good) & a rib eye (I think). I would certainly come back again and would love to try more items on the menu!

I started with the grilled octopus -- beautifully charred outside, tender inside, plated over a Taggiasche olive purée with tomato ragú and basil oil. Balanced, flavorful, and elegant. For my main, I ordered the Black Truffle Cacio e Pepe: bucatini with pecorino romano, Tellicherry peppercorns, crispy parmesan, and freshly shaved black truffle. Rich, decadent, and worth every bite. Service was excellent -- the waiter guided me through the menu and highlighted chef's specialties with genuine care. The ambiance felt like stepping into a tucked-away street in Italy, with stunning architecture and courtyard dining that transports you. The bill came to $86 including service fee -- pricey, but fair for the quality and setting. This is an upscale spot that delivers. Donatella's is a must-visit for anyone seeking elevated Italian in Miami.

Everything was perfect last night! The food was spectacular & the workers were astounding! Everyone from the host to the man who refilled our waters was excellent! And the atmosphere?! The best. So worth the money. We cannot wait to come back!

It was an amazing experience! Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh! The details of the garnishes and how it complimented the dishes were excellent. We shared a bunch of starters ( focaccia bread, Gambero rosso, grilled octopus, grilled artichoke and the trio crudo) and then shared the lobster pasta! And I would do it all over again. The service was great and the place is very cute, sexy and super romantic for date night. We sat inside because it was hot, but next time will be outside because the vibe is just different.

Actual good food on ocean drive?? didnt know it existed! Beautiful mansion setting. Pretty, intimate, setting with a Dj to set the mood. The waitstaff was attentive but there wasn't enough staff so we did have to wait a while for the bill and in between courses. We started with the trio of crudo which had a combination of Hamachi, tuna, salmon, in a citrus broth with chile pepper on top. The fish was fresh and i loved the variety. the tuna was my favorite. we also had the pear and goat cheese salad. we couldnt get enough of this salad i wish there was a bigger portion. the Dijon vinaigrette was to die for. The calamari was good, and so was the aioli, but the portion was very small. For proteins we had the branzino and the ribeye, each were cooked perfectly and were very good. I liked the soft garlic that it came with to put on top. For pastas we had the rigatoni and the cacio e pepe. Both were good, but we preferred the rigatoni. For dessert we had sweet cream gelato topped with pistachios. it was delicious. The gelato wasn't super sweet, and the pistachio added a nice crunch. The perfect end to a perfect night.

    * Intimate new mostly outdoor Italian Mediterranean venue in South Beach from the designers of Gianni's at the Versace mansion I am told * Great Italian chef from Naples creates excellent fresh pastas and seafood * Upscale venue with classy conversation level music for more sophisticated diners * Outstanding service with great management Donatella had only been opened a week or two at the time of our visit. Every dish, see photos, was executed perfectly. W enjoyed: Trio of Crudo, Hamachi, tuna and salmon in a perfect citrus broth $36 Kumamoto Oysters $52 per dozen, not crazy about the sauces Grilled Pear & Goat Salad, arugula walnuts, truffle honey $26 Amalfi Limone Fettucini $28 the added Osetra Caviar +$25 was a perfect addition for the Meyer lemon and creme fraiche pasta Skull Island (Australia) Prawns $55. Three beautiful giant prawns, head intact and coal grilled with a milt touch of Calabrian Chili. Kudos to our attentive waiter Gleb and Managers. It was a bakery for many, many years, even after I left Miami Beach, when I'd come visit, I made sure to get a pastelito de carne with an orange juice and then one day; the bakery was gone and Pane e Vino was here in its place. As illogical as it may be, I held resentment towards Pane e Vino because of this. I'd grumble and scowl when I'd walk by until one day I saw a man making fresh pasta at the window. Yes, this piqued my interest. I then looked at the menu, and I saw a lot of wonderful variety, but mostly that their pasta is made fresh so it occurred to me that in this instance perhaps one legendary establishment can become another one in this place, and I decided I needed to give this restaurant a chance. I have some friends who join me often when I go to Miami Beach and so we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. I'm really glad we had our waitress Pilar steer us in the right direction. I love truffle anything and she highly recommended the truffle arancini. I'm soooo glad we got it, and that was probably one of my favorite things to eat ever. I have never had such creamy polenta in my life. the truffle and cheese in this was enough to almost bring me to tears. This is how great food is done. Even the salad and the simple dressing was amazing, really fresh and delicious. We tried three different pasta dishes, but my favorite without a doubt was the lamb ragu. This dish was everything. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. You know that lamb will sometimes have a gamey flavor? Not this dish. My second favorite pasta dish was the truffle ravioli. It's not like a truffle infused oil or salt they used, its actual shaved truffle, so delicious. The bread, the good quality olive oil, everything was fantastic. Even though my beloved bakery belongs to the past; in its place is now another magnificent establishment that I will look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Miami Beach.

Italian restaurants often talk about simplicity, tradition, and technique. Macchialina backs up those claims with execution. You can certainly order à la carte, but I would strongly encourage first-time visitors to consider the chef's tasting menu. At $75 before wine pairings, it feels almost suspiciously underpriced. By the end of the meal, I wasn't wondering whether it was worth the money. I was wondering how they weren't charging more. The first course arrived as a trio. Creamy polenta with mushrooms, onions, and chives, broccoli rabe topped with toasted breadcrumbs and a soft-boiled egg, and a savory pastry filled with sliced pork and a rich sauce. All three were excellent, but the polenta was the dish that immediately demanded attention. I've had a lot of polenta over the years. Very little of it has approached this texture. It was impossibly smooth, somewhere between polenta and a luxurious puree. Combined with the mushrooms and broth, it delivered a deep, earthy blast of umami that lingered long after the bowl was empty. The second course showcased three pasta dishes. Macchialina's signature cavatelli with veal meatballs, porchetta, and pecorino, agnolotti stuffed with ricotta in brown butter sauce, and a classic cacio e pepe. Choosing a favorite felt unfair. The cavatelli delivered hearty comfort and deeply savory flavors, thanks in large part to the tender veal meatballs. The agnolotti burst with creamy ricotta filling in every bite. The cacio e pepe served as a reminder that great ingredients and proper technique rarely need embellishment. For the third course, a veal Milanese arrived perfectly fried and topped with arugula, concentrated tomatoes, and Parmigiano Reggiano. A grilled lemon accompanied the plate for a final squeeze of brightness. Halfway through the dish, I found myself thinking a touch of balsamic might improve things. Then I caught one of the concentrated tomatoes in a bite and immediately abandoned that thought. The tomatoes provided exactly the acidity and sweetness the dish needed. Nothing more was required. Dessert sealed the deal. Bread pudding made from Sullivan Street brioche, banana, hazelnut crumble, and bitter chocolate. It was paired with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with caramel sauce. It was rich without becoming heavy, sweet without becoming cloying. The slight bitterness from the chocolate kept everything balanced. It ranks among the best bread puddings I've eaten. Technically, the tasting menu is four courses. In reality, it delivers eight thoughtfully prepared dishes that showcase the kitchen's range, creativity, and restraint. For diners curious about tasting menus but hesitant to jump into a multi-hundred-dollar fine dining experience, Macchialina offers one of the best entry points I've encountered. It feels approachable, generous, and remarkably polished. Some tasting menus leave you impressed. The best ones leave you planning your next visit before you've even paid the check. Macchialina belongs firmly in the second category.
