Full disclosure, we wanted to go to Prima Pasta, but due to terrible Basel traffic, we ended up parking closer to the Normandy Fountain, so we decided to give this place a try. I was suspicious as the owners are not Italian, but I was NOT disappointed AT ALL! We opted to eat outside as the inside, while lovely and inviting, was really cold! The menu had lots of great options. Our group ordered the following: Chef's Special Tartufato Pesto Taglietelle Tortelloni di Zucca Spaghetti Salmone e Vodka We spent quite some time looking over the menu because everything looked so delicious! We took a wine recommendation from the server (a red that was decent; I do not remember which one it was). The server also let us know that the Tartufato is typically prepared tableside, but they only do so inside. She said she would let us know when it was ready, so we could go inside for the show. After we ordered, warm, toasty bread was brought with delightfully creamy whipped butter. When the food was ready, we went inside to see the Tartufato being made. The cooked pasta is prepared inside a gigantic wheel of parmigiano cheese. Dinner and a show! The food was all absolutely delicious! I had the spaghetti salmone and it was GIGANTIC! Easily and entire pound of pasta. I barely made a dent in it. The server kept asking if it was OK. I said it was delicious, just TOO MUCH! LOL! The only ding is that it took a while to get the bill when we were finished eating, and while we were paying, the server asked for the tip in cash. I was genuinely excited to try this place after seeing the beautiful presentation of the black ink pasta on their website, it looked like a work of art. Unfortunately, what arrived at the table didn't quite live up to the photos. The dish tasted fine, but the plating felt rushed and lacked the visual impact I was hoping for. We had planned to sit inside, but the interior had an odd smell that made the space feel less inviting than expected. Thankfully, there was outdoor seating available, which gave us a much more pleasant dining environment. Service was friendly but somewhat uninformed, when we asked about a couple of dishes, the explanations were vague or uncertain. For a restaurant leaning toward upscale Italian, I expected the staff to be a bit more confident and knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, the All'Amatriciana Classica was okay, not bad by any means, but also not particularly memorable. The flavors were there, but it lacked the depth and richness that makes this dish shine at truly standout Italian spots. That said, I do appreciate the intention behind the restaurant. The concept is promising, the menu is interesting, and there's clearly an effort to create something special. A good friend invited me here for dinner the other day when I needed some major cheering up. Despite North Beach being a usual haunt, this neighborhood Italian spot is truly a hidden gem. We had to drive around like 3 times to finally locate it. Thankfully, an employee came outside and pointed out their parking. I am dinging a half star because some wines were not available (ie my usual moscato). The vibe inside is an Argentinian / Italian music with most of the music consisting of Spanish ballads. As it were, there was a singer who came by later in the night with covers as well as an original song. Though I'm a hard core meat eater, my main dish was actually veggie centric. That's right, I enjoyed their "spaghetti a la Norma allá mía manera". With noodles a little past Al dente, the eggplant dish had an excellent smoky flavor and didn't skimp on the fresh tomatoes or burrata. The meat lasagna my friend ordered was just as delicious but it was good to branch out. I would however try the lasagna on any subsequent trip. Don't worry I didn't go vegetarian, for my appetizer consisted of their meatball dish . This dish consisted of three pairs of meatballs with different seasoning: four cheese, pesto and classic marinara. The last two types were my favorite. For dessert, we shared a yummy fluffy tiramisu with the perfect blend of coffee flavor, creamy filling and a generous sprinkle of cinnamon. Still and all this was a nice and cozy spot for a nice dinner on North Beach; I'd love to come back and try a few other dishes including the cheese wheel pasta. read more

Finally! A local pasta joint on the beach with charm, delicious copious pastas, and decent prices (not cheap, but reasonable and plentiful). I could tell the chef cares about the flavors and preparation of his creations. The appetizer (in my photo) was the best charcuterie plate I've had in Miami. It had delicately sliced meats, fresh supple mozzarella balls, little tufts of salad in a vinaigrette, exceptionally delicious marinated red peppers, and a sprinkle of harmonizing pine nuts. It was a perfect assembly for three people. The house-recommended wine "Italo Cescon Cabernet" was PHENOMENAL and probably the most delicious red wine I have ever had (available by the glass too)!! Why have to choose between Cacio y Pepe, Bolognese, or Pesto when you can have them all??!!! We totally ravished the ultimate pasta experience, which is a QUAD LASAGNA (four different types of lasagna served on one plate for 1 person) and the TRIO SPAGHETTI (three bowls of differently-sauced spaghetti for one person to enjoy). Ordered for pick up, walked over to pick up my first meal of the day at 5:30pm. It's been a day. All I wanted is my meal for $24 to be good and comforting. I went for the lasagne bolognese. When I got to the restaurant I still needed to wait 5 min for the food to come out. I picked it up and left didn't look at my food until I got home. I opened it at home, right around the corner from the restaurant. Food was cold, no cheese and the lasagne pasta was rarely cooked thru not even Al Dente. Everything is expensive these days. So when I pick up a meal of from a restaurant that rarely has business, they better put in work. Totally don't recommended this place to anymore wanting comforting Italian food. read more

Reservation made via open table for 4 @4:30pm Saturday, June 22, 2024. After driving over 20 miles under a torrential downpour the entire way, we find the place and park. Enthused to get in, we pull the door and its locked. We arrived to a closed restaurant! BUT, someone opened the door. We explained we had reservations AND pointed to the hours of operation decaled on the entrance door. We were told sorry, the end. Where is the manager/owner of this place? Get your act together! Update your hours of operation on your door, on open table and on google. You just made 4 potential repeat customers into angry complaining ones. Solid spot for Italian in the area! Relatively small space inside, but it didn't feel cramped. There were plenty of reservations available through OpenTable for a Saturday night at 7, party of 3. It was a little slow service when we got there and there were only a few other parties dining at the time. Everyone is incredibly nice and the chef was walking around meeting with some tables which I thought was cool to see. As we placed the order the waitress let us know they make everything by hand as it's ordered so it may take some time. The app came out in 10 mins and the mains prob within 20 min of when we ordered. Food is solid- mozzarella con prosciutto appetizer was delicious with a nice pesto sauce. It's a great size to share- 6 slices of tomato with a mozzarella piece on each. I like that it's easy to split up. I had the cannelloni which was really tasty! Unique with the bolognese sauce on top. Very meaty, not super saucy. It was very stuffed with the spinach so it was a hearty portion. The spaghetti allamtriciana is really delicious! You could tell the pasta is homemade, the bacon was perfect too. Not pictured is the pappardelle funghi porcini- it was a smaller serving than the spaghetti pictured and the flavor is delicate- not saucy and very light. They have a small space in the corner for live music which I'm sure would be lovely for a dinner (no one was playing when we were there). It's a place to go to enjoy a leisurely meal, not to eat in a rush. You won't be disappointed! read more

First of all the service was good but folks the food is awful it is the worst I have ever tried the cocktails just don't order them. I ordered the ribeye they didn't have any on a Sunday, the place was empty so I tried the ossobuco, it was the size of poker chip an it was tasteless no salt it was dry in a tomato sauce that was poured out of a can. My wife had a squid pasta with shrimp it only came with two shrimps and small salt dried shrimp that gave it the extreme salty flavor. What ever you see on their webpage is not what you unfortunately will get at the restaurant. I would rather eat from a trash can that a homeless person would eat from than eat from this place good luck to anyone that dares to go eat at this place. read more

I cannot speak on the restaurant experience or environment itself as I placed an order for Uber eats for bolognese. I was initially pleasantly surprised at the appearance and large portion. However, I was left disappointed when finding an inch of grease that sat in the bottom of the pasta. I actually had to doctor the pasta myself, removing it and adding some of my own sauce and straining the grease. I was highly disappointed which I reported via Uber eats. While I was highly disappointed, I am curious if this was poor service for take out vs restaurant experience so I will give some benefit of the doubt there. read more

This place is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area, it is a spinoff of 3 of his other places in the country of Colombia with the same name made possible by the chef owner, Sergio Martin who is an international award winning Colombian Italian chef who is culinary training from Modena ,the Reggio Emilia and Tuscan areas in Italy are impressive, beautiful atmosphere with excellent Italian music, the lineup of liquor is very nice. tried the Spritz., it was excellent, the seafood pasta was out of this world, and so is the one with mushrooms, I was totally impressed how they were able to put together this place in just very few weeks, and I was there on the third day of business, which is very impressive, the place got very crowded and I can understand why, soon, it will be very difficult to get a table as it will require many days in advance to get a reservation. I guarantee you that. If you're in the area it is worth doing . Located in a cute corner with very nice views of a small plaza , I was told they are working on having tables and chairs in the plaza once the weather changes, parking is easy, anywhere behind place, or along the road, which does not require to feed money after hours, the chef owner itself will come around to table greet you when he is in town and not at one of his other locations which is a very nice touch and something rare that no owners do anymore since most places are now owned by corporations. read more

I loved this place!  Just visited for the first time and want to go back soon.    SERVICE - My friend and I went on a Tuesday, a little bit after 6pm as they were just getting started.  The service from the moment we came in was on point. One of the owners, Alejandro, personally came to greet us and spent a good amount of time talking to us.   He explained that everything is homemade - the bread, the butter, the pastas, etc.  It is worth mentioning that Alejandro won MasterChef Celebrity Colombia in 2018 so he knows what he is talking about, and you can see his excitement when talking about food Diego who was our server also provided great service throughout the night.       THE FOOD - OMG, it is so delicious.  The bread and butter were freshly being made and it was so worth a little bit of a wait.  We went along with Alejandro's recommendation and ordered the Polpettine Della Nonna which is an order of some fantastic meatballs in three different sauces.  It was so yummy that we even got more bread to dip it in the amazing sauces.  My entrée was the Tagliatelle Salmone e Vodka which was also recommended by Alejandro, and it did not disappoint me.  The sauce was perfect, and it had small bites of smoked salmon that just made the taste even more special. I wish the salmon pieces could have been a bit bigger but other than that, it was just perfection.   I got to try my friend's Tagliatelle Alfredo which she had added shrimps to, and it was also divine.   We were so full that were not able to try the dessert but will be returning to try more of their menu items.  Just when we thought we were ending our wonderful evening, Hernan who was attended the bar, came over with his guitar and sang for us.  It was that extra personal touch that just makes your evening even more special!  Overall, the service and the food were just fantastic.  I highly recommend it and will suggest tuning in to their social media pages because they are coming up with great events throughout the week when they also bring in some Live Music.  Enjoy! read more

Went to this restaurant several months ago and was told this was the soft opening and that they would have a more extensive menu soon, so thought we'd give it another try. Unfortunately the opposite seems to be the case. While the food menu is somewhat varied, the cocktail and wines by the glass are very limited. We couldn't even get a vodka martini! And four items that we asked for that were on the menu were unavailable (Super Tuscan wine, fish filet with pasta, ossobuco, and panna cotta. While the ambiance is nice and the waitstaff tries hard, it seems like this restaurant isn't living up to its original potential. read more

I very rarely write reviews but I felt like this one was necessary. Thought we would try something new in North Beach and came to La Divina which is currently in the old Thai restaurant space by the Normandy fountain. It's one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We both ordered filet mignons which in retrospect probably not a great decision. It took close to one and a half hours to get the steaks. When we arrived we were the only ones in the restaurant. How it takes that long to cook a steak with a side of pasta is what makes the whole thing absurd as well. The meats were undercooked (we ordered medium and they were rare) and cold. The meats were gummy and cold as ice. Couldn't take more than one bite. Sent everything back to kitchen and asked for tab. I think it's probably safe to get pasta instead so that was the mistake we made. But don't put anything on menu you're not good at making. Awful all around. And to top things off the parking lot behind the restaurant has signs for pay to park but also tow away signs behind those. It's a private lot but no signage that demonstrates that. My car was being towed as we left the restaurant. Cost $125 to get off the hook. Save yourself time and money and don't go anywhere near this restaurant and area. A complete disaster of an evening. Stick to the tried and true Italian places in North Beach like George's and Prima Pasta. You won't ever go wrong at either. read more

Went here to dinner with my mother and had an amazing time. The service was incredible and the waiters and waitresses were very sweet and attentive and gave great menu suggestions. The food was delicious! We ordered the caprese salad, lasagna (we ordered a sample of all four lasagnas -- my favorite was the lasagna bolognese) mussels and tuna and everything was great. They also served us delicious fresh baked bread with an amazing butter when we first sat down. They were also setting up for live music around 7:30 PM but we left before it started. The ambiance is super cute and gives a real authentic italian vibe. 10/10 recommend -- I will definitely be back to try the ossobuco! read more

We were so lucky to find this fantastic restaurant out of the many options in this area. We were celebrating my birthday and, from the moment we walked in, Diego greeted us and made us feel so welcome. The ambience was unique with the interesting pictures on the walls, red crystal chandeliers, and beautiful and warm decor! On top of all this, the menu had so many delicious choices. We had the tortellini verdi and lasagna. We had a great beer called Don Fabio as well as a fantastic panecotta with vanilla and pistachio ice cream for my birthday treat. Our servers, Flor and Natalia, were so attentive and professional yet made us feel like part of the family. It's only been open six months but I can see a longevity for this establishment with staff and homemade dishes like this. Oh, and a lovely guitarist and singer, Daniela, played for us and we truly didn't want to leave! Great voice. So soothing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant! read more

Zero of the staff spoke English to me One staff member swore he spoke Italian. But no. It was Spanish I had to ask my waitress twice to speak English or Italian. I sat so long with no drink I would have had 2 glasses of wine But no one came back (smaller tab smaller tip) Cilantro was on top of my pasta. What in the world is this doing on my Italian meal?!?! I was skeptical right then wanted a mixed drink perhaps a nice martini only beer or wine I don't like that my wife asked for information about the white fish on the menu but they were out I wanted to know if the tuna was fresh or frozen ( it is frozen) they had zero fresh fish I wanted calamari not on menu I wanted any chicken dish , zero chicken on menu only pasta and beef kinda weird for an Italian restaurant so I finally ordered the pasta with clams in white wine sauce I asked if they used little neck clams she said they used the little ones??
