Hole in the wall family owned Italian restaurant that makes their pasta from scratch. The pasta flavor is phenomenal and this place is a must try. They also have a selection of wines and staff was helpful in suggesting pairings with our food. My husband frequently orders delivery from them and has a good experience with the deliveries. Our meal... 1. Bread - stale. Like Subway stale. 2. Caesar salad. Pretty good. Kudos. 3. Arancini - served still frozen. The waiter took the frozen half eaten arancini, heated it (I presume in a microwave), and then re-served us the exact same half eaten but now warm arancini on the same plate. We them requested new, and not half eaten arancini, on a fresh plate. The waiter, now visibly annoyed, eventually brought us what we ordered 20 minutes previously...this time scalding. After it cooled, the warm arancini was pretty terrible. 4. Our utensils were removed from the table and not replaced. I had to grab fresh utensils from another table. 5. A daily special - some sort of beef sauce noodles that was a cross between Puppy Chow and military rations. Could not finish. Gross. 6. Gnocchi. Not bad, because it had no flavor...required a ton of red pepper flakes and salt in order to be edible. All this, for over $150. We won't be back. read more

While on a quick trip to Miami, I found myself in Miami Shores for the last night. I googled the best Italian restaurant and Pastamarket came up! I love little mom and pop establishments so let's do it! When our party arrived there looked to be what may have been a manager sitting in the patio area. He did not greet us. Strange. We walked towards the door and immediately a server came out asked us how many in our party and sat us down. We ordered two appetizers that were good. I ordered a Cesar Salad and when it arrived it was a chopped Cesar. Definitely different from your classic Cesar. I took two bites and ouch! There was a sharp plastic that I took a bite of. Since the server was in view I raised my hand and he quickly came over. I took the plastic out of my mouth to show him. He asked if I'd like a new salad. (Whomp whomp) Of course I do! He then asks if I'd prefer the lettuce large and I say please! When he brought it back he said the plastic was part of the bag. (Eww) On to dinner, the spaghetti bolognese was perfect! The spaghetti was made Al Dente! Oooooohhh how I love an Italian restaurant that makes their pasta correctly! Probably the best spaghetti I've had in a long time! Time for the bill! To my surprise the salad was left on bill, found that to be strange. However I didn't say anything. I like restaurants to be who they are on my first date. It establishes whether I'll be back or not. Service was lacking. The gentleman who was sitting outside was definitely a manager or maybe an owner. The fact that he never came to apologize about the salad mishap was a negative for me. Even just welcoming us would have been hospitable. My tea never got refilled the entire meal and I wasn't going to ask unless offered. Overall, good food! OMG! The relaxed ambiance, Italian staff, the signorina making pasta in the front window, and... THE FOOD! We thought we were back in Italy! Came across this small Italian restaurant and decided to try it out. The food sadly was not as authentic or generally tasty as I had hoped. Pasta with the bolognese sauce was a solid 6/10 Cacio e Pepe was not good, 3/10. The sauce was drowning the pasta and the truffle was out of a jar. The stuffed squash flowers were overly stuffed and it was a mouthful of hot ricotta cheese and the batter that was fried. I adore how the table cloths are checkered patterns. The service was impressive when the waiter came and used an iPad to talk about the specials and to show how the actual food is comparable to the real thing. my favorite food in the entire world is homemade/fresh made pasta. In Miami it's hard to find affordable options that are also authentic. I randomly chose to order in from this place and my mind was blown. I absolutely love anything with tomatoes, and I was pleasantly surprised to have fresh cherry tomatoes in the sauce for my pasta. I'm usually not a huge sauce person, but I actually enjoyed every single bite. The gnocchi Sorrentina was absolutely mind-blowing! This might be my new favorite pasta restaurant in Florida. They have a parking lot on and off premises but it's $5 per hour to park. A nice selection of wines red and white for those that enjoy a nice glass of vino w dinner. They have a variety of homemade pastas that you can match w a sauce of your choosing. We ordered the Gnocchi Bolognese and the pasta w clam sauce. The clam sauce had little to no flavor and was very watery, the pasta probably wasn't drained enough so it watered down the flavor. The Gnocchi bolognese was ok but didn't taste like homemade Gnocchi, the portion was average at best. The bread was served after we received our dinner. Good concept and menu choices just needs a little fine tuning and will be a good place to eat. I found this place randomly one day & my life has been changed ever since. They have amazing lunch special prices. I come here often for lunch with my coworkers. I've tried a variety of their pastas & recommend them all. I could eat their bread with oil forever & ever. We came at happy hour, which includes many pastas and some of the apps. I found these deals to be hit or miss though, as well as the food quality. While the pasta was quite good, the squash blossoms were whatever and the portion was pretty small. The space is cute and simple. Love their outdoor area, which makes you feel like you're not eating in a parking lot with its nice decoration and setup. My current Italian adventure brought me to the Mimo/ Upper East Side area to the relatively new Pasta Market. After a particularly hectic week - including a vet visit - I needed the definition of comfort food. These guys made it taste good! Do expect a wait, because they make their pasta fresh inside the restaurant. Service is really attentive and pleasant. I started on their patio seating & enjoying a glass of pinot grigio, but was welcomed inside during one of the Miami rainy season monsoons. Their menu seems geared toward tapas, pasta and risottos (ie not pizza or chicken parm) so this I enjoyed. I started with a creamy burrata seasoned with oregano and served with fresh greens and tangy baby tomatoes. Next up was their meatball appetizer, four balls of yum garnished with a basil leaf and a flavorful marinara sauce. My lasagna was tasty of itself tasty, right at al dente, and made even better when I requested extra marinara sauce. It had a great meat flavor; just make sure to ask for extra sauce. This was our first time ordering from them. I was excited because it is very close to our house and we wanted to try a new italian restaurant that makes the Caccio e Peppe. We were very disappointed. For a carb junkie like me if you tell me there is a pasta market ill be there first line. So my expectations where high, specially with all the five stars reviews. Service was good! In specific the bar back lady (latina) that was constantly refilling water and making sure your table is up the standard! Kudos for her. Server was ok, we felt she was a bit detached from the clients but, she was busy so thats fair. However, the food let me down, why? Pasta is perfectly al dente, that is not the problem. The problem is that the bruschetta had more tomatoes than a full tomato and still managed to not be great, the sauces where not tasty, nothing was flavorful enough to be an extraordinary experience. First time checking out this neighborhood spot in the Little River area. They make their pasta by hand right on the window, and it is so fresh and tasty. You order the pasta, and then the sauce you want on it. So each entree plate seemed to be somewhere around $16-35. Ordered the fried artichoke appetizer and then went for 2 specials of the night Pistachio - Strozzapreti Mascar and the Rattacasa Eggplant. If you're in the mood for "home-made pasta", try out the pasta market in the little river area. Inside is small and quaint, they do have a nice outdoor sitting area. When it's summer and really hot, the air doesn't circulate very well at any of the restaurants that are in this plaza so make sure to sit by a fan if the heat bothers you. They do have fans. Their homemade pasta options are very good, we tried the lasagna and one of their bolognese options which they recommended in place of the spaghetti because the spaghetti is not fresh or homemade there but they do have good fresh homemade options. Sorry guys this place definitely didn't earn more than 2 stars. The draw to this place is fresh pasta. Ok it was fresh pasta but the flavor was rather plain. You pay $10 for pasta then an additional $8+ for any sauce. The price is ok for pasta in Miami but not for skimpy portions. I was disappointed in the portion sizes and each dish was skimpy with ingredients. For example, we ordered the pasta with seafood and there were literally 3 mussels, 2 shrimp, and maybe 3 or 4 calamari. Normally a pasta dish with seafood is loaded with different types of seafood and this was plain skimpy. I love homemade pasta but honestly this wasn't anything special. We ordered the fried calamari, which was also skimpy. It was about 3 pieces of shrimps and about 6 calamari; $15 is excessive for that quantity. The service was slow and unenthusiastic. They were friendly but once our order was taken we were forgotten. We had to ask for water and ask for bread. The bread was only a few pieces and cold. The table next to us didn't have silverware and were waiting for their food so long some had to start eating while others waited for their food. I understand restaurants have had to compensate for potential losses incurred during covid. But it's a slippery slope when you charge a lot of money and don't provide adequate food or service for that price. read more
