Have been wanting to come here for a while. nice place to grab a slice & glass of wine but when waitress realized no dessert grabbed plate with rest of my slice which i wasnt finished with. it kinda pissed me off that she didnt even ask if i wanted it or was finished with it. i had stomach surgery, so i was done, but so basically i couldve taken it home for a nice bite but wasnt even asked. gone. actually went back tonexplain why the lower gratuity since Ive been in the business & thoughtvtheyvmight want the feedback. waitress would not look me in the eye in the 7 or 8 passes she made past me. all others saw me standing at stand and ignored. left, figuring they didnt really care. im going to not venture out so much anymore when it comes to spending my money. i was ready to tip her 5-6 bucks for a slice & glass of wine, but she was so awful on the service & interpersonal skills i could barely leave her $3, but i didnt want to be cruel since she was making performance art out of being busy. other people work hard for their money too honey!!! my daughter told me i was too generous with $3, that she wouldvevleft her a piece of gum. so this is the generation of tippers youre training. read more

I've been going to Max's for Greek-style pizza my whole life, so I'm probably a little biased, but I'll still throw my weight behind the place. Though the last time I ate in was about 20 years ago (yeah, I'm that old), I had a chance to revisit the place via takeout on a trip back from Seattle. It's standard pizza that's great comfort food with any number of toppings. The prices are fair (about $12-15 for an extra-large cheese), and if you come from a family of boys that eat like wolves as I do, you can collected the coupons on the top of the box (every 10 gets you a free extra-large!) Salads and grinders are also good but standard--you're going to get iceberg lettuce salads and toasted buns with marinara sauce on your grinders, but again, it's simple good food. I would have given 5, but the punctuality on pickup is not always great (I've had to wait 15-20 minutes after the noted pickup time). Possibly not the place to take a date, but if you're having a pizza night and are tired of the standard delivery crap, it's a nice change of pace. read more

I have been going to Max Pizza since my first birthday, in where I had the restaurant's FIRST ever Pizza Party! They opened in the early 1970's where it was run by, and opened by brothers...including Alex, the owner. When you walk in you are greeted by hand-crafted wall painted murals done by one Alex's family members over 40 years ago, and a map, from where people and other family members from all over the world stopped in for a meal, wine and a great time, in a pleasent atmosphere. While the pizza is the main event, meals are a decent size for the price. They offer great salads and other sides as well. Cheers! read more

I haven't been there since the reopening. I loved their eggplant dinners and grinders. The pizza was a little greasy. The reason I may not return is because every time I ordered from them, they would tell me 20 minutes and when I arrived they hadn't even started making my food. One time I showed up after 18 minutes and the waitress said "oh you're early!" Call times are recorded on your cell phone. Anyway, I stood at the counter for 25 more minutes before my food was ready. That was the last time. I guess I am not important enough to have my order ready or at least almost ready. read more

They make an excellent pizza and a very generous, tasty chef salad. Their homemade vinaigrette is fantastic. Pre-pandemic, we used to eat in the dining room; the waitresses were excellent. If I could give it ten stars I would!!! I just got home from hosting my daughters 10th birthday there. It was so awesome! The food was beyonddddd amazing and the staff, just wow. I had a woman named Lori who was the main waitress and hostess helping with the party .... as the mother of the party I myself felt relieved from all the cleaning and setting up and was even able to enjoy the night with her help! She went far and above helping me decorate always so attentive and on top of everything! She was so personable and fun and just great I can't say enough how much this place reallllllly knows how to host a party in there new party room! It was by far my best experaince yet with hosting parties!!! I would 200% use this place, and ask for Lori (but everyone else seemed great too) for any occasion!! Birthdays, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, anything!!! They really pampered all of us! And they made over the whole place it's so classy and fun!! And very clean! Love. Love. The food was okay. I had a burger, but I wouldn't get one here. Clearly frozen patties that we're flatter than McDonalds' patties. The atmosphere was alright.. but pretty boring. The service was also VERY slow and we waited for 15 minutes before we got to order our drinks. My fiancée got pasta and really, really loved it. The pizza tastes very good and is affordable. I believe its the best pizza place in New England, and can rival some parlors in the Big Apple. Max is Greek style, thicker crust. Order it with meat and it can get a bit greasy, but it's so good. There's usually a $2 off coupon on the back of Shop Rite register receipts. Good service, and they've never screwed up an order. We've ordered pizza from them at least 40-50 times. It's not really an eat-in place; more of a takeout. read more

I haven't been back here in a long time since they messed up my take out before. So I figured, I had a long day and I am in the car... why not Max. So I ordered 2 grinders and a small cheese pizza. If you want your grinder to look lifeless and dried out order from here. Not only did they not put everything I asked for on it but they toasted it with the veggies on it. Completely disgusting. The lettuce was non-existent due to drying out. I called in and the women on the phone wasn't helpful at all and said next time order veggies after. Like I'm supposed to know that. I've ordered this grinder from multiple places and veggies were never heated up... never have I ever been as disappointed as I am tonight. We were so disappointed! We have been before and had excellent meals with excellent service. The wait staff was great. We cannot fault them. BUT the food was so salty! Extremely salty and we don't mind some salt. I had a gyro with beef and the beef was like a pressed hamburger- very odd. Even the accompanying coleslaw was salty. Delicious as usual. My husband and I love coming here weather it's to eat in or take out. Last evening we ate there. With in 2 minutes of sitting someone came to take our drink order which we received about 3 minutes later from our server (who had a great personality ). My husband ordered a pastrami grinder , and I ordered stuffed shells. We both enjoyed our meals that came rather quickly. All the people who work here are friendly and helpful. So I overheard somebody talking about this place at a different restaurant last week. I decided to order six cheese pizzas for my sons birthday party for the first time trying this place out. Now most pizza places will give you a free cheese pizza when you order five or six pizzas. This place did not. When I got the pizzas home, and open them, they were all burnt. I have been going to Max's since I was a teenager. When they had the fire a couple of years ago, I thought I would never have a decent pizza or grinder ever again. Thank goodness they opened back up, bigger and better!! We have had 6 parties there since. Two for my son's birthday, two for my daughter, one for my father's retirement, and one for my sister's graduation and each one was fantastic. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is fabulous. Pizza is pretty good, can not really mess that up. But for the mozzarella sticks and the onions they are horrible. They tasted like they were in he freezer for many days. They were not fresh and just tasted freezer burnt if you know what I mean. I just had my wife's birthday party with the whole family at Max's brand new social room. The service was great, and the pizza and Caesar salads were outstanding. What I love about Max, it is excellent Greek style pizza, but it isn't greasy like most other places. I pre-ordered the pizza and salads, and gave the restaurant the times I wanted them put out. We arrived at 5pm, table was set, soda was immediately put out, salads came out next, and pizza's were right on time at 5:45!! Everyone loved the new restaurant and the food.
