You can tell the meats and cheese for the Italian combo sandwich were so thick and fresh. Everything was so great that we returned a second day for a light meal! Showed up as walk ins on a Saturday night. Comfortable & pleasant experience. Our waitress Monica was excellent, food was very good & inexpensive. I love this place. It's such a comfy, chill spot for lunch or dinner if you are looking for a quickish bite. We stopped here for lunch and it was pretty empty most likely due to it being close to 2pm. For starters we had fried mozzarella and an order of the onion straws (an absolute must!) I got the Texas burger before visiting the shooting range down the street. I've had plenty of gourmet burgers but this one really hit the spot. I'm from California, always loved the western bacon cheeseburger from Carl's Jr. and I've had the SmokeShack from shake shack out here. This Texas burger was better than either and was more satisfying than some gourmet burgers. It's got a nice ratio of well but not over seasoned meat to soft bun, fresh crispy onion rings, and perfectly cooked/crispy bacon. One of the worst pizzas I have ever had. Wish there was a minus rating. Fried fish and fried clam strips brought in frozen from some distributor, must be really cheap because they taste old, more coating than fish. The clam strips seem nothing more than clam juice and dough, fried up with a few rubber bands. Nothing fresh here! read more

Just tried this place for the first time last week. The owners say they're famous for their onion rings, and I could see why. These aren't your typical onion rings - they're thinly sliced and lightly battered and pretty delicious. Just add a little salt, and you're good to go. Also had some pizza, which has a crispy and thick, but not too thick, crust, lots of cheese and toppings, and it's all a great price. Actually, I'd say all the prices on Uncle Sam's menu are fair. Came after a great day at Lake Compounce. It was very close, which was nice. Got there in 5 minutes. At 7:00, we ordered, and our waitress was so nice. Note: it was very quiet- maybe only 3 people in the whole restaurant. Unfortunately, it took over 25 minutes for our food to arrive. Disappointing on a slow Monday night. The food was just okay. But, a very extensive menu and unique options. Large portions on some items as well. Not my favorite though. read more

Great place, my mom would always take me here growing up. What makes me crave Uncle Sam's specifically is their famous onion rings. Greasy fried goodness lol hey you gotta treat yourself to it sometimes, but i highly recommend their steak grinders with roasted peppers. They are BIG so beware when you purchase a large. Every time I have gone to this restaurant I have had a positive experience. Their staff is friendly, polite and very accommodating. There are very few restaurants in this area who have the combination of good food, service and you always feel wlecomed. Not too mention they will go out of their way to prepare items for me which are special requests not included on their menu. With that being said my favorites are the greek gyro salad , the cheesesteak and the tortellinis when Cliff brings those in for me =). Good greek-style pizza, with a good amount of sauce and not too much cheese (and the cheese is not under-cooked, which I like). I've never had anything besides pizza here, but the kids have had the fries and they are pretty good. Service is quick and friendly. read more

I'm so glad this place is right around the corner from my office. I get take or eat in there about once a week. I have had just about everything on the menu. From salads to burgers, grinders, lasagna, soup, seafood, pizza and have yet to have something I would rate lower than a 8 on a 1-10 scale. The portion sizes are big and you can't beat their prices. I hate to give away my secret but their buffalo pizza is the best buffalo pizza you will ever have! As a mechanic who's always one the road eating burgers I have to rank their burgers as my top one or two burgers off all time. But I rarely get one there because everything else is so good! Gotta love to mom and pop restaurants! Go there you won't be disappointed. Best lunch around! read more

Not a very good experience tonight. Waitress pretty much threw each plate she brought out. They must deep fry everything in the same grease because the fries and chicken tasted the same (no taste - no matter how much salt I put on fries) and then she couldnt be bothered to bring a to-go container so I could bring the disgusting chicken grinder home to my dog - which is probably best he wasn't subjected to it - bad enough I was. My tip reflected my awful experience. read more
