I dont remember the name of our waitress but she was very helpful with my choices and her recommendation was spot on. I was very happy to get very hot food without having to ask. Maxs creamy Italian dressing is the main reason why I come here! I always get pizza and salad because I use this homemade dressing on everything. I dip my pizza crust in it and smother my salad in it. They even sell bottles to go, that's how good it is. The pizza crust is always crunchy and good. This location is a pretty big size and even has a separate bar area and dining area. The service was good and it's a pretty average pizza place for prices. read more

Had to ask them to refire it to get the color you see in the pic. 3.75 outa 5 stars because I would indeed eat again only if having drinks at their HUGE bar and needed drunken munchy pizza. Looking back on our visit for my Mom's birthday last year...we had such an awesome experience! Gloria was our server and she was amazing. The food at Max's was just great. Started with Max's Nachos with Chicken. For a pizza place, some pretty solid nachos! Kudos there for sure. Check out that mound of chips, cheese and nacho fixings. For my entree, I had the Turkey Grinder and I definitely left with lunch for the next day. Size large was four huge cuts with chips. Fresh meat and bread, definitely on point. I went with mayo, oil, vinegar and extra shredded lettuce. It was the best. Always go with extra shredded lettuce. We also got a large mozzarella pizza. Classic. Everyone was so happy. Check out that gloriously baked, bubbly golden brown cheese. Yup! Happy food dance. The table also had a Cheeseburger Deluxe and a Beef Gyro. Max's isn't just great pizza. They do a lot of other delicious food as well. All of it was a homerun. We had such a great visit. Certainly looking forward to returning with the whole family soon. What a great experience! Came here with our family for dinner and we were treated well from the moment we walked in the door. We started with a white spinach pizza to share- so delicious and fresh and FULL of spinach . Next was the main course- first off portions are HUGE. enough for 2-3 portions. We had the chicken Parmesan, chicken Milanese, Cobb salad, and eggplant parm. Everyone left happy, full, and with enough food for lunch tomorrow. We will be back again. Spending part of my youth in Bristol meant I had a lot of Greek style pizza places to choose from. One of those places down the street (the original Stafford Ave location) was Max Pizza. Let's fast foreword almost 20 years and now Max Pizza is booming with a bunch of locations including this massive restaurant near ESPN and Lake Compounce. I came here on Sunday with a large amount of my family and we were able to get a large table right away. The server and staff were super friendly and quick to lend a hand throughout our visit and the restaurant itself is super duper nice. The menu here is pretty standard for a pizza place and features pretty much all the sandwiches, calzones, pizza, and appetizers you could want. Our table decided to order some appetizers in the form of onion rings, buffalo wings, and fried calamari, and for my main course, I ordered a pizza with sausage, meatball, and onion. Let's break it down. Onion Rings- pretty standard onion rings, but in a good way. The breading on these were tasty. Fried Calamari- I'm new to the calamari game but these were pretty dang good in my book. Good breading and they basically tasted like fried clam strips to me. Buffalo Wings- pretty standard buffalo wings, what you would expect. Pizza- I was a huge fan of this delicious pizza. The sausage and meatball were both superb, the sauce was the way I like it, and the overall collaboration of those ingredients made for my perfect style of pizza! Overall, I was a huge fan of Max Pizza. If you reside in Bristol there's a good chance you've already been to this place at least once in you're life, but if you haven't, do yourself a favour and come and have some pizza! read more

Disappointed. Ordered a large eggplant grinder but it had zero flavor and only a thin layer of eggplant and little cheese. I just ordered take out from this location. I've had pizza from them many times. It was a childhood staple in our house. Today I ordered a chicken Parmesan grinder and an order of fried mozzarella. The good....I love the way they prepare the chicken cutlets. They are pounded down so thin. I like the sauce. The bad...the woman who answered the phone was so rude. She took my ordered asked if there was anything else and before I finished my "no thank you" she had already hung up on me. Busy or not, not cool. Moved here recently, and this was my first and last time going to a Max Pizza. I asked for a pie cut, because it's nonsense to have a party cut for anything smaller than a party size pizza. I got there and checked my pizza before leaving and saw they messed up that simple task. Also, the cheese wasn't cooked enough, even though I asked for it to be well-done. And it's clearly cheap pepperoni because I had to use paper towels to soak up all the grease. I asked if they had another pepperoni on hand they could cut the right way and cook it well-done like I asked, but they said no sorry. So, I rated Max Pizza IV as a 2 star is because they can't follow simple instructions on how a customer wants their pizza cut or cooked, they have greasy pizza, their sauce is way to sweet, and they put way too much cheese on it--some like that but not everyone is a fan of overloaded cheese. Yuck. Oh and the pizza wasn't cut all the way through so we had to use our pizza cutter to cut all the way through the crust....(sigh). I do not recommend this place, unless it's for a kids pizza party because kids don't usually care about what they eat. read more

When they first opened, the food was always good, and the staff friendly, but the prices were slightly higher then other places in toen... Fast forward oto about 18 months ago. Food has been pretty much the same quality, but it seems like the kitchen staff seems to mess up every other order we have placed here and it has to be sent back. Usually it is that something that was asked NOT to be placed on the food (cheese or specific vegetables) due to allergies was placed on it or the order was completely wrong.... We have been coming to this location since they opened but will not step foot in the door again. We supported them thru Covid, and thru their price increases. The pizza was wrong and sad.... it was missing sour cream.. the bacon was the cheap variety, sparsely placed and somehow undercooked in some pieces. The sliced onions were just an awful choice and should have been green onions or scallions and put on after baking. It's great pizza. Always has been. But the servers are simply below average. Come off as entitled and arrogant. Went in for a takeout order the other night, and three servers are trying to figure out how to use the cash register. They all look at me, ignore me and continue their confusion. I was staying up the road at a campground when my family and myself got caught in the rain. I walked to the camp store and asked what pizza place they would recommend. I wanted to get the kids warm and out of the rain. They told me we definitely have to go to Max Pizza IV. When we came in they were very accommodating. It was myself, my parents, and my three sons. My ten year old has sensory processing disorder and they even helped us change tables so he would be in a more comfortable position. The pizza and apps were great!! Also picky kid approved!! I'll start with the good- the Greek-style pizza is pretty good. Nice, thick layer of cheese. The staff is accommodating and child-friendly. The thing is, no matter how it's decorated or laid out, you still feel like you're eating in an office building, which is exactly what you're doing. Hard to feel comfortable in that environment. We went to the new Max 4 Pizza Restaurant and it was so good. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza and a salad. We ordered the potato pizza, eggplant fries and the Chicken Carbonara dinner. Everything was fantastic. Pizza was really great. From the crust to the quality and amount of toppings, it was the total package of pizzas. Nice crispy crust and a slight chew to it on the inside. Pizza was not greasy in the least and the price was on part with everywhere else. The Chicken Carbonara and Eggplant fries were good as well. No complaints from anyone. I especially liked the eggplant fries with the marinara sauce to dip them in. Overall just great food just like the other Max Pizzas. You can tell they care about the food. The other not so goods about my first experience were the usual "new business blunders" which I didn't take off in my review for. They were exceptionally busy the night we went and everyone looked so overworked they were a bit frazzled. Almost looked like they were short handed. The girl asked me for my order. I gave it to here and then she looked up and shook her head. Apologized and asked for it again. I felt bad. They were doing their hardest. But among the chaos they managed to put out quality food. We did have a fairly large group, but we did not arrive all at the same time. Others ordered before we arrived and waited and waited. Tables that came in much later than us were served first and left while we waited. I finally had to get up to speak to management, and I was told that they were busy taking care of their regulars. Pizza is great. I love the crust and dough they use. I've been buying pizza here since we moved to the area

we have driven by in the parking lot is full. So tonight we ventured out. Our waitress seemed flustered in the beginning but we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. The Cobb salad was average. Nothing that any other greasy pizza place would serve. We chose to get a cheese pizza to see how good the sauce, dough and cheese actually was. The only way I can describe the sauce is opening up a can of SpaghettiOs. The dough had absolutely no flavor and the cheese was a grease pit. My fiancé described the pizza as worse than school cafeteria pizza. The waitress was barely attentive to us and was only nice when she dropped off the check. I would not recommend this pizza to anyone. There are far better pizzerias in the area than this subpar restaurant.
