I am so glad I finally got to visit Cava ! I was nervous since there are so many controversial reviews however I am so glad I decided to try it myself ! The Aladdin theme was AMAZING ! A beautiful night under the stars ! While we aired for our entrees we explore all the restaurant looking at all the decor ( 10/10 ) and went to the rooftop where it was mamma Mia themed and one of the waitress was so nice and took a picture of us with the decor ! For my entree I got the chicken parm , the portions were large , and the food was good in my opinion ( not the best I've had but definitely not the worst ) What I loved the most was for desert the server came over with a whole tray of deserts and we can choose which to order ! Which was great ! We chose the amaretto cheesecake and it was amazing!! And normally I don't like cheesecake but this was sooo delicious!!! We have come here once before for the beauty and beast theme 1.5 years ago and both my kids had a wonderful time. My family came here recently during the first week of Aladdin theme and the kids were over-the-moon happy. They couldn't stay seated too long because they wanted to explore anf take pictures of the Aladdin decorations which was so thoughtfully layedout with so much detail. Brittany was our waitress and she was amazing as a server and a photographer! She helped my family take many pictures during our short stay here. I believe if you are a family of 4, you ca. stay for 2 hours. We stayed the whole 2 hours and did not feel pressure to leave. Note that even if you have younger kids (I have a 4 and 7 year old) you will have to order entree per person even if your kids dont eat that much. Consider it an admission fee which I still think is worthwhile. We live in NYC and we drove here just for this restaurant. The food however isnt the best but it isnt bad neither. So for the food I would rate it 3, maybe 3.5 stars. The decoration was phenomenal so that's an easy 5 star. I would come back here before they take down the Aladdin theme which I was told might be up for about 8-10 months? Alright, people, I'm gonna try my hardest to bump up the ratings here, because I was shocked to see how low it was. I had to do a double take to make sure I am reviewing the correct Cava, because the low star reviews do not match my experience AT ALL. I had a SPECTACULAR dining experience here. We had the charcuterie, the chilled lobster claws (with a side of clarified butter that our server happily brought out upon request), the lobster ravioli, and the beet salad, which was absolutely delicious, served with a truffle seasoning. Our server also brought us a complimentary dessert which was like a chocolate hazelnut cannoli. Yummmmmm. Look at the photo of the dessert tray- there was a rhubarb creme brûlée and a pineapple upside down cake that made my mouth water. I was so full. I need to come back and try all the things I didn't try this time. The food itself was perfect and I have not even described the decor yet. The Aladdin theme was incredible. No detail was left out and I felt like I was actually in a souk. It was so cute and authentic. I can't believe how much thought and love was put into this display. It covered SEVERAL rooms. I got charged $10 for a mocktail that tasted like seltzer (not even sprite) and grenadine. I had a fresh muddled strawberry mocktail at Capital Grille the prior day for only $6. You are allotted 90 minutes for a table for 2, however in spite of asking to not have our food rushed, our entrees came out on the heels of our salads, and only 23 minutes after we sat down. I struggle with this review because if we are judging on food only then the masses are correct, it's underwhelming for the high price point they are asking for. To be more fair and food aside, the staff were great and quick to seat us. Our server was so sweet and our drinks and apps came out pretty quick. Our entrees were very delayed and tables were being served left and right before our entrees came out. I can't really blame her for that. It could have been a kitchen problem. The rooms are very beautifully decorated through the entire restaurant. The place is so big and you can't really walk around to see everything but you can tell they put a lot of details into each room. I had been reluctant for many years to try Cava not so much because of the food or price reviews, but more about the personnel complaints. I took a chance and went with my daughter to check out the Aladdin theme and grab some dinner. We were both greeted with a warm welcoming smiles and light conversation. We were seated promptly and told we were more than welcome to walk around and check out all the decor. We were impressed with the amount of decorations and the attention to detail! More importantly our server came to us quickly with a bright smile and contagious energy. Adrianna was amazing from the beginning to the end! Yes it could've been more flavorful, salt, garlic ie. but not the worst I've had. My daughter enjoyed her chicken Marsala very much. If only the food was good here, this would be the only place to go for special occasions. I brought my baby girl here for Valentine's Day and we were just not wowed. My husband planned this as a complete surprise for our 39th wedding anniversary. I had no idea where we were going until we pulled into the parking lot. In the back of my mind, I remembered reading some mixed reviews and hoped everything would live up to the occasion. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. The Aladdin-themed setting was amazing. As we walked through several beautifully decorated areas to reach our table, the attention to detail was impressive. We were seated in a private alcove just off the main dining room, next to a cave filled with sparkling jewels. It was incredibly romantic and perfect for celebrating our anniversary. The summer menu was available by scanning a QR code on your phone. I'm not sure if printed menus are available upon request. Since it was a special occasion, we ordered the Genie Wish and Royal Rose cocktails, both served over dry ice. The presentation was a lot of fun--the drinks were poured from a genie lamp into glasses filled with dry ice, creating a magical effect. While the presentation was memorable, I expected the drinks to be a bit colder. You can choose between the complimentary house bread or garlic cheese bread for an additional charge. We opted for the house bread, which was served with seasoned olive oil for dipping. For our appetizer, we shared the calamari with cherry peppers and mango sauce. It was delicious! The calamari tasted fresh rather than frozen, and I appreciated that it was all tender rings with no tentacles. My husband ordered the Chicken Scarpariello--Frenched free-range half chicken with broccoli rabe, sweet Italian sausage, hot cherry peppers, roasted potatoes, and citrus herb pan jus. I chose the Atlantic cod with farro salad, julienned spring vegetables, citrus beurre blanc, and sweet potato crisps. Our waitress mentioned the cod was new to the menu and already very popular. My granddaughter (10) have lived going to Cavas. We go once a year for the themed dinners. We have Done " Beauty _ the Beast and others before that one. My granddaughter dresses in whatever the themed dinner is with the costume.. this year it was Alladin ..now that she older we decided to go later for dinner so we could enjoy the show. My granddaughter & u have been so excited for this opportunity to be there for the show this year. We took an hr getting ready , her with costume and pretty shoes to match all the jewelry that we ordered for this evening. ( Thurs Aug. 13th. 5:30) We walk in just so excited. Gave the young man our name & time of our reservation. And he says " there is no show tonight " Shocked I say when I originally called u distinctly asked many times " what dates will the belly dancer do her show and was told Tues - Thurs. I said I asked confirmed every time I called ..right up to last Monday when I changed the date from one Thurs evening to this Thurs the 13th that was the belly dancer there and the time was 5!!! I was planning on ordering appetizers and splitting with friends, but then my friend informed me that in the reservation every person is REQUIRED to order an entree, and as someone who's a vegetarian/loves to split smaller plates, I thought this was absurd. I really enjoy seeing how they change things up every time; the decorations are never the same. They usually have the top bar open, which is heated and uniquely decorated each time, but unfortunately, it isn't open right now. They recently added an extension to the back of the building to provide more seating downstairs, likely due to their growing popularity. However, this place requires a reservation because of how busy it gets. The space is a bit tight, which makes it challenging to move between your seat and the restroom. Additionally, they definitely need more restroom space, as there are only two stalls for a lot of people. Despite these minor drawbacks, the service was great during my visit. We had to switch plates with each other. Not professional behavior. Our server took pics of us in front of a Christmas tree which was a nice gesture. After we finished eating we walked around and took pics. Such beautiful decorations! I left feeling like they just had so many rules and overall I was a bit frustrated with the service. Wow this place is GORGEOUS!! They have the place decorated for the holidays and all I could say was WOW the whole time walking through! Each room is finely decorated with a different holiday then and they have beauty and the beast music playing in the back as well. It was the best place you can ask for in taking pics and it was perfect for our team dinner. Our server was super friendly and made the best recommendations! I enjoyed the cheese bread, the ricotta with figs and my chicken Parmesan. I am surprised about the other reviews with servers not being friendly but ours was awesome! Food wasn't the best I ever had but it was still very flavorful and large portions. Great value for the price. Also, try the "love potion" mocktail drink that comes on dry ice! It was yum!! This is the best holiday decorated restaurant in Ct. The service was great and drinks were good. The cheesy garlic bread was good. The only negative is that the entrees were luke warm. I was told that the manager decorates the place and he does an excellent job at it. Had the food been hot I would have given 5 stars read more

I recently had the pleasure of going on a date here, and we had a great time!! We had reservations, and were seated immediately..our waiter Greg was very attentive and friendly. We had the Mango Calamari for an app, Rigatoni with Vodka sauce and Chicken Parm with Spaghetti, for our meals. We both enjoyed our food and the portions were huge. We didn't have dessert, but, they had some yummy choices. It was pricey, but, worth it for the amazing decor. We would definitely go back if a cool theme sparked our attention. The unpaved parking lot we had to use was a bit of a walk, and muddy from the rain, so that, and it being a bit warm inside were our only negatives. We had a wonderful time at Cava. I am sad to see so many negative reviews because we had such a great experience. We started with oysters and the garlic bread. The garlic bread was out of this world amazing. The Caesar salad was a bit pricy for what it was but we split it, and it was tasty. Our steak and Salmon were perfectly cooked and delish. The wait staff was nice and attentive... and they gave us ample time to go see all the rooms decorated. I would definitely go back. I am wondering if we had a better experience because it was a Monday and not as booked as a weekend. The only downside was a Xmas music was a bit loud. read more

I think they should tell folks that they may be seated in a very tight alcove not big enough for the two tables in there and isn't really a part of the larger decorative theme. Felt really like being in a closet Disappointing because I booked the Aladdin room weeks ago for Mother's Day :( as someone who traveled 90 minutes for this, while service was good the food was mediocre - Bolognese was some of the worst I've ever had and I'm outside of North End Boston. Have gone here once before and gave it a second try for the Aladdin theme but I'm good - no return for me. read more

Have driven by this place several times and had no idea it's a themed restaurant, currently Wicked. It's a five for the amazing decor and a five for the service. It is high priced but the portions are large and the theme decor has to be very expensive. The food was only a four though the calamari was the best I've had. The lobster mac and cheese was a thing of beauty but nearly impossible to eat and the mac, so so. Regardless you should go to check out the decor. read more
