    Poor amount of fries. :(
    Josue Z.

I give it 2 stars because although the food is decent, the service is horrible. It feels like new management has taken over and you can sense it. Here's something that made me leave a review. Look at the photos and you tell me what's wrong.

    Salad w/chicken

Great place for a quick bite! Salads were a very generous portion, fresh, only complaint was the menu says "grilled" chicken, and the picture online showed nicely charred grilled chicken but it wasn't (like flat top cooked chicken) it was still tasty tho, lightly seasoned. Liked the pita!

Chicken gyro with sweet potato fries

I took my daughter here after school because she was starving of course lol. Usually we do a drive thru at a fast food place to save us some time. Although I wanted something quick, today I also wanted a better option other than "fast food". And this was the perfect Wednesday place! When we arrived there was one person in front of us picking up a to go order and we were greeted with a warm welcome. As we waited we viewed the menu and saw the many options, from burgers, hot dogs, to salads, and etc. The one thing that stuck out to the both of us which is not a regular menu item to any restaurant in Bristol was the gyro. And oh man, let me tell you, it was the best! The pita was thick and fluffy and so warm. The chicken and toppings of lettuce, tomato, red onion and my favorite taziki sauce were all fresh and absolutely delicious! We both even asked for extra taziki sauce because it was that good! The sweet potato fries were huge and honestly I think the best I ever had. The portion sizes were ginormous and I had to take half of it home. The amount and the quality of food I had here versus what i would have received at any fast food place for the same price will definitely make this my first "after school fast food" option now. I was completely satisfied with the cleanliness, the customer service, the food, and just the whole experience. And wait! I'm not even done!.. did you know Carvel ice cream shop is connected to the other side for ice cream and cakes?! And that every Wednesday is buy one get one free sundaes?! After indulging with all that great food, I needed something sweet and I went and got a medium (don't judge) Reeses peanut butter soft serve sundae with peanut butter sauce and Reese peanut butter cup pieces. I might make this a weekly ritual!

$12 Triple B Burger!!! Only the truly insane would think this little burger is worth that much.

Not exactly sure what's going on over at Fresh Craft Grille to warrant putting out food worth $5 at $13 prices. Speaking of prices after my disappointment with dinner had sunken in I did some research. Looking at Fresh Craft Grilles website I could see one of the burgers I ordered was listed at $7.99. If I ordered it online through the website they give which is chownow the price increases to $9.99. If I want the same burger delivered then that goes through doordash and the price for the same burger increases to $14.39. What possible explanation is there? This has left me very disgusted with Fresh Craft Grille and feeling pretty scammed out of my money. The food we received was not AT ALL worth the prices we were charged. Speaking of the food... We ordered the Truffle Burger, Triple B Burger, Fries, Onion Rings and Mac N Cheese. I'm uploading a picture of the near $15 burger for reference. Both burgers were edible but the meat itself was so dry and flavorless. I didn't get any taste of truffle on the burger. Triple B burger was plain bacon burger with a bit of blue cheese. Very basic and very small! Fries were standard steak fries which were very bland. Mac N Cheese tasted very processed and mass produced. Very disappointing. The only decent thing I had was the onion rings and still they were fairly standard onion rings. I'm honestly at a loss here and will never give any more of my money to this place. Should be ashamed of the food you all are putting out and at those prices... disgusting! **EDIT** Almost forgot to add in. Those outrageous prices are JUST for the burger! Fries and a drink NOT INCLUDED!!!

    Pretzel
    Rob A.

Food is good flavors are all very similar maybe work on delivery. See attached photos. The chicken philly is marinated in Italian dressing I think it's extremely overpowering flavor that ruins the taste. On the salad the chicken taste the exact same but is ok since it flies with the dressing. The pretzel is a J and J snack pretzel not made in house. Super hard and tough. Hot dog kid loved and ate it all. I have eaten her before and it is great there. Maybe delivery and the the pandemic has changed things

You can see the raw onions here-someone needs a lesson on how to caramelize onions.

Well, my mother and I were dying for French onion soup today. It's our thing, we go shopping and eat French onion soup from Panera. Only Panera decided to screw us over and made French onion soup a seasonal item!! Wait-who am I reviewing again? So-I looked on my trusty yelp app and saw Fresh worx had French onion, and according to the last reviewer they were almost killed by the amount of croutons. So, that sounded like my kind of soup. But it wasn't my kind of soup. It sucked. First instead of tons of cheese there is a half melted slice of Swiss, the soup was barely room temp and the onions were half cooked and half uncooked. Like someone decided they didn't have enough onions and added more-20 minutes before we came. Cause they were still crunchy. So......there was that. We were pretty disappointed, but ordered a salad to go with it too-pear and walnuts with grilled chicken or something. That was good. But next time I'd skip the soup.

    Fried fish sandwich
    Kelly S.

This place is great for a quick bite to eat. Their menu has so much to offer. Everything from burgers to hot dogs to gyros. Today I decided to try something different and went with the fried fish sandwich special. It came with lettuce, tomato and tarter sauce. I added American cheese. The sandwich came with a side of fries. The tarter sauce for my sandwich came on the side, which I think is great because everyone has different preferences on how much should be on a sandwich. . My husband had the chicken souvlaki salad. Let me just say that both of these items are pretty good size portions for a lunch. The food is good. The girl at the counter was friendly and nice. The restaurant was clean. All pluses in my book.

Easy to adjust for dairy allergies. Get the shrimp gyro with no tzatziki sauce. Avoid the fries. They are cooked in beef fat.

Even the bathrooms were noticeably nice, particularly for such a fast-paced lunch spot. I had the Chicago Dog and the House Dog. We've been on the hunt for a good Chicago dog that's, you know... closer than Chicago, so I was glad to see one on the menu. It was quite good, but not what I expected based on the ones I remember from Chicago. This version leaned heavier on the relish and toppings, didn't have the bright green relish, and ended up a little messier overall. It did match exactly what the menu described, though, so that part's on me for not reading it more closely. All that micro-complaining aside, I'd get it again--though I may first try to work through the extensive menu a bit. There are some great options, and you should expect to struggle deciding (maybe check the menu in advance). The House Dog was delicious, but also pretty messy--definitely grab some napkins. Prices were a tiny bit higher than I'd expect for hot dogs, but the quality, presentation, and overall vibe seemed aligned with that. Overall, Riley's is a great option if you want a nicer sit-down hot dog experience with lots of choices and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd go back, especially to try more of the specialty dogs.

Greeted warmly by the server-cashier and possibly one of the owners. This place has counter service where you order there, pay for it, leave the tip, and then the server brings the food out to your table. I ordered the special fish sandwich and french fries. $16.95 And a can of Coca-Cola. My accountant ordered the cheeseburger, with ketchup and onion, and french fries. $15.95 He also ordered the lemonade iced tea. Within 10 minutes, the food arrived at our table. The fish sandwich was deep fried perfectly on a really nice soft roll with lettuce and tartar sauce. Unfortunately, the fish wasn't seasoned fully to my liking nor salted. Also, no lemon was on the side to squirt on the fish sandwich. The fish was lacking any flavor other than the tartar sauce. This was a big disappointment. The french fries were very good, but it was like a kid size portion for like a three-year-old. Come on now I'm paying $17, give me at least a handful of french fries. Not eight! My accountant who ordered the cheeseburger picked the winner. It was a thick well seasoned piece of beef cooked, medium rare, and he said it was delicious. He also received a ration portion of french fries. I paid a lot of money for two sandwiches, a little bit of french fries, and two drinks. I bet it was close to $43 with 20% tip. This was no bargain. The seating at the restaurant was OK. Our table top was loose and a little bit sticky. The restrooms were marginal. There flies flying around. So overall cleanliness was a little bit disappointing....come on now! I'm glad I got to try Carol's new place. If I come again, it's gonna be for the hotdog special and eat it outside.

I recently learned that Taste of Home recognized Carol's Lunch Box for the best hot dog in CT…read more That's pretty much an instant visit situation for me. Carol's has a small structure where they prepare the food, and there are some nearby picnic tables. Carol's uses bun length Martin Rosol's dogs, and I'm on record as a fan of Rosol's denser than typical hot dogs. Carol's fully steams the dogs, which distinguishes them from other top CT places. I can't say this way my favorite way to prepare a Rosol dog. I think at least partial grilling brings something extra to a dense dog like a Rosol. Carol's has some specialty dogs and build your own options. They're probably about average in terms of the number of topping options. I ordered a Reuben dog and a Chili Dog with mustard and onions. The kraut and chili are both above average for CT. I like that Carol's has the Thousand Island dressing to go with the kraut. That's pretty unique for hot dog spots. But Carol's super power may be the house spicy pepper relish. I didn't order this on my dog, but I met Carol. After hearing it was my first time, Carol offered me a sample of the House Relish. For me, the flavors are more well balanced than one of CT's famous pepper relishes. I was a big fan and I would probably get a dog with just the relish next time I visit. If you like to sample all the best CT hot dog contenders, add Carol's to your list. 4.25 Stars

This little unassuming place deserves every one of them! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly man at the counter who seated us and brought menus. He turned out to be very helpful finding out this was our first time here. The store was well lit and clean. The tables were well spaced and not crowded in. My wife stuck to our tradition and ordered the RT 10 Dog with the spicy relish on the side. (Which was great for me) I couldn't resist The Hungry Bull burger. We'll just have to come back again for me to try their hotdogs. The 10' hot dog is a Martin Rosol's so the foundation of this hot dog is super strong. The sauerkraut was tasty and full flavored and just the right amount of mustard. My wife tried the spicy relish, that our server cheerfully supplied on the side, and it was a little too hot for her liking. Bonus for me. I got to put it on my burger. My burger came out stacked on a sturdy Brioche Roll with American cheese, onion straws and some very tasty horseradish crema. My burger was juicy and full of flavor. The onion straws brought the right amount of crunch. Halfway through I began to add in the spicy relish. Amazing. We got fries and onion rings and shared. The fries were big, crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Just the way I like them. The onion rings were amazing. I like when you bite into an onion ring and the whole onion doesn't come sliding out. These were perfect. Very good crunch and flavor. We have already decided that we will be back. I can't wait to try the hot dogs and the chicken sandwiches that were also calling my name.
