I ordered food for a friend's party, and they delivered a quarter-filled tray of Qorma while charging me the full price for a "full" tray. The Biryani was a full tray, but it doesn't make up for being overcharged and under-served. Honestly, I've lost hope in Desi restaurants. Sorry, but this place is just not for me. I have a big family, and none of us will be coming back--this wasn't even my party, but it left a lasting impression. Save your money and stick to something reliable like Subway.

It is way more spacious than their previous location and nicely decorated. We sat in a nice Modular Half Moon Restaurant Sofa in the back. Felt like I was looking down upon the rest of the guests having dinner. Nice table just felt a bit like we were on display however I still enjoyed as I love the style of these tables. Our waiter I think was new and definitely did not know wine. We asked for a bottle of the Merlot, which he pronounced back to us "Mer-LOT." I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he left the table. Someone else came and opened the wine for us and when our main server came to check on us, he grazed the side of my glass and freaked, telling us the glasses are $500 each and if he breaks one, it comes out of his paycheck. Ummm what? This stuff we probably should not know! Again, I think he was new, probably not having much experience as a waiter. He definitely needs training on how to pronounce wine! Moving on to the cheese, they used to give you a cheese board with a few different cheeses. It's a bit different now. They give you whipped butter, a few pieces of cheese (last night was Cheddar), roasted red peppers, and whipped goat cheese with a touch of honey on top and some bread. Not sure if this changes/rotates at their new location. We chose not to do the raw bar or appetizer courses (fyi those are extra). For my salad, I chose the Signature Salad (forgot to take a picture of this course). This is where things went downhill for me. I asked for no apples. He said no problem. He did not tell us they ran out of the dried cranberries and caramelized nuts which to me make the whole salad. I used to love this salad at the old location. So, when telling us the specials he did say he "thinks" they had one salmon entree left, but had to check. Restaurants run out of things, and I get it, but take that salad off the menu if you're out of 2 ingredients and the customer asks for no apples. All that we got on our salads was lettuce, gorgonzola and fried potato skins. I feel like I had French fries on top of lettuce. It was awful. Also, I'm the only one that asked for no apples and my boyfriend got the same salad I got with only potato skins and lettuce and gorgonzola so clearly they were running out of things. We then saw other customers getting the same salad lacking main ingredients. For my entree, I got the Heavenly, which was supposed to have a lobster sauce. I couldn't put my finger on what the flavor of the sauce was. It was strange. It wasn't bad, it just didn't really go with the lobster. It had a brown tint to it. The manager came over after we ate and asked us how things were, and I told him about the salad and asked what the flavor in the sauce was. He told us a crab style sauce which made sense. Boyfriend had the filet. He said it wasn't Ruth's Chris good, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were very bland. Presentation was pretty bad. Dessert they get from a third party. I had the flourless chocolate cake which was the best part of the meal. Desserts are where they have improved with the new location. They used to give you petit fours style desserts, and now they give you full size desserts. It was delicious. I really want to like this place more because I like the concept of what they do. I guess on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the chef creates whatever he'd like for guests for $25 a head. Mystery meals. The manager said that's where the name "Adventures in Eating" comes from. Again, we had come here previously, and I had a problem the last time with the Branzino where the waitress didn't tell me it came as the whole fish. Servers are friendly here, they just aren't top notch. Food is ok.

The hotdog so flavorful with a snap upon my first bite, and was brilliantly cooked on the flat top, stuffed inside a perfectly grilled New England style hotdog roll. The char on the outside of the roll was a masterpiece. The meat sauce was perfect, with a kind of gravy texture, just the right amount of flavor, one of the best hotdog sauces in my opinion for Connecticut. The white onions accompanied this masterpiece placed upon the hotdog and the yellow mustard. This has to be one of the most perfect hotdogs with toppings in Connecticut. I love coming here for their hotdog. This 10 inch was priced at I think $4.59 with the mustard onion and sauce. I think that's a pretty good deal. The onion rings were restaurant supply chain delivered type I think. They didn't look like they were homemade. They were crispy, but not seasoned. After a little bit of salt, I still didn't like the flavor that much so I added ketchup, which I never do. And the flavor came through. All washed down with a perfect Pepsi, I really enjoyed my lunch. Three different waitresses took care of me, which I didn't mind. They were all polite and attentive. Atif and Nina are amazing. I became familiar with Indian and Persian cuisine in Las Vegas were I lived before moving here.Their skill in the kitchen is on par or exceeds the quality of anything I experienced there. Don't be intimidated by the regional menu it's Northwestern Pakistani I believe, but what I know is it is imminently delicious. What is fantastic is every time I visit Nina's I try some thing different with a recommendation from Atif . The spices are key I believe that make their dishes so unique from other area ethnic restaurants. If you likeThai, Chinese, Mediterranean or Indian dishes, Nina's Desi Kitchen will not disappoint but rather delight and suprise. So far, off to a great start! When I got back up to begin my dinner, I took photos first just to have something for my review tonight. I will say that the prices are actually very reasonable, but if you really want to save money, go to the restaurant and pick up the order yourself. I tipped $6.55, so my total for the delivery was $28.88. On my receipt, the total for the order itself was $16.63. The food overall would be anywhere from a 3 to a 3 and a half. That 4th star I am going to award is because of how fast I got my food delivered as well as the reasonable pricing.

The portion was large and well done. The chicken khorma was great. Tender chicken thigh with a nutty creamy sauce with a little spice. The highlight of our meal. We also got naan, garlic and peshwari. The garlic was good, very garlic forward but the naan seemed to be very thin. There was a lot of rips and holes through the 4 pieces we got. We also got the peahwari naan, which was little light on the filling but has the right flavors. Pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality vs the portion. It's not a dine-in location as of yet, but the food is perfect for to-go. It's good Indian done well, needs to work on the spice level of their dishes but it's ideal for those who don't like heat.
