Good Indian fare, nice owners, still needs work on the interior Came here for a dinner trek. There was a noodle shop right next door that was okay, and we wanted to give this new place a try as well. The inside is sparse and still rough with construction. The space use to be a açaí bowl location, and they still had some of the signs and decor from that location here. There's also some ripped up flooring and exposed piping in the middle of the floor. Don't plan on dining in unless you can handle some rough corners. The chef/owner was nice but shy, the wife was much more extroverted and very kind. The chef took the order, the wife took care of the interactions and check ins. Missus really enjoyed interfacing with the lady, she enjoys supporting the local businesses that go in with passion. We got the chicken 65, samosa chaat, and chicken khorma. Food came out steadily, and we dug in. The samosa chaat was good. Spiced lightly, but good flavor. The samosa was slightly cold in the middle, but the flavors were there. The chicken 65 was also lightly seasoned but the chicken crisp and tender. Needed a dipping sauce to impart some extra spice. The portion was large and well done. The chicken khorma was great. Tender chicken thigh with a nutty creamy sauce with a little spice. The highlight of our meal. We also got naan, garlic and peshwari. The garlic was good, very garlic forward but the naan seemed to be very thin. There was a lot of rips and holes through the 4 pieces we got. We also got the peahwari naan, which was little light on the filling but has the right flavors. Pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality vs the portion. It's not a dine-in location as of yet, but the food is perfect for to-go. It's good Indian done well, needs to work on the spice level of their dishes but it's ideal for those who don't like heat. I stopped in to grab a to-go menu, and the very next day I placed my lunch order--Paneer Butter Masala. Generous portion for the price! I had enough for two lunches, and honestly, if it weren't so delicious, I probably could have stretched it to three. The woman who handed me my order was incredibly nice and welcoming. I do wish it was more of a sit-down, dine-in spot, but for me, it'll remain a takeout go-to. Not sure if it's family-owned (that would be a bonus!), but it definitely has that personal touch. Let's see what this tastes like. This is great! It's very spicy (as requested). Boomer is having the Madurai. This is pomfret fish cooked with chef's special Madurai style. Silver pomfret, also known as white pomfret, is a highly prized saltwater fish found in the Indo-West Pacific region, known for its delicate, buttery, white flesh and mild, slightly sweet, non-fishy flavor. It is a popular ingredient in Asian cuisines, especially for steaming, and is a good source of calcium, vitamins A, D, and B12, and omega-3 fatty acids. Madurai curry is a rich, spicy South Indian curry with a tomato base featuring flavors of fennel, black pepper, curry leaves, garlic, and ginger. He says it is quite good. It has a slightly sour taste. For my dessert, I'm having the Carrot Halwa. Gajar ka halwa is a traditional Indian dessert made from grated carrots, milk, sugar, and ghee, flavored with cardamom and often garnished with nuts and raisins. This rich, sweet, and creamy pudding is a popular comfort food, especially during the winter months and for festivals like Diwali. The process involves slowly cooking the carrots with milk and sugar until the mixture thickens, creating a decadent treat that can be served warm or cold. Oh yeah! This is the best! Brand new Indian restaurant in Glastonbury, we visited this place as our regular go to place was closed on Monday. The staff is very friendly and kept checking on us, asking how the food is tasting. This place has about 4 tables with 4 seats each, but looks spacious. Now coming to the food, we ordered a chicken 65, Chicken Fried rice and took a chicken biriyani home. I didn't enjoy the Chicken 65 much as it is made with sauce and tasted sweet like orange chicken at a Chinese Togo place. The fried rice was made well and tasted good with being spicy as expected. The chicken biriyani was average. Ambiance wise the place is good, but I felt there were a lot of mosquitos inside the seating area where I was seated, hopefully the restaurant will take care of the problem. Overall I had a good experience, will go back to try other dishes. read more

We have found our new favorite Indian food restaurant in Glastonbury! The owner served us and was friendly and chatty. The food was flavorful and had some unique tastes, the food is made fresh every day. Even down to the mango lassy. Not a place to go if you're in a rush. But the food was well worth the waitand we got to know the owner in the process. Will definitely be back to try something new. The Samusas are the best I've had in a long time! read more

I noticed Indian Grill today as I was thinking of what to have for dinner. Lucky me!! They just opened today (5/14/25)! Rush Bowl used to be at that location so it's not that big. There's 4 or 5 tables inside but they're small. I ordered for takeout and it was ready in about 20-25 min. My eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach. I got garlic naan, mutton biryani, lamb roganjosh & basmati rice. It was all delicious. I had it made mild for spice level. It wasn't spicy at all so I'll likely order spicy next time for a little kick. Generous portions! I still have more than half left so plenty of leftovers!! I love Indian food and will definitely be back! read more

Stopped by this new Indian restaurant on a family roadtrip. Fantastic, friendly service from the proprietors. Our waitress emphasized that the chef makes everything fresh each day, and the tastes and quality absolutely reflected this! My wife, son, and I had saag paneer; chicken tikka masala; hakka noodles with shrimp; and garlic naan. Really outstanding! Turns out the family running the restaurant came to Glastonbury by way of Hicksville, LI -- and if you know about Hicksville, you know it is a hotbed of incredible Indian food. I tried this place for the first time today. The interior was surprising because it was so sparse and no frills at all. I'm very familiar with Indian cuisine but I decided to get to know the owners a little by asking about the different dishes. I ordered the chicken Korma. It's made with chicken thighs which I always prefer over the dry breast cut. And I got an order of Naan bread. When I noticed I didn't get the usual sauces (yogurt, green and brown sweet), they kindly got them all for me. When I got home, I was soooo happy to see the food is excellent! I had been wanting to try Indian Grill since it opened several weeks ago. I stopped in for lunch with my family on Father's Day, and we were not disappointed. The Tandoori Salmon Tikka was done to perfection, served hot, and full of delicious flavors. The Chicken Tikka Masala was also delicious and hot when delivered to the table; Indian Grill does a great job of adjusting the level of spices to customer preference. The service was outstanding; the owner stopped by our table several times during the meal to fill water glasses and ensure that everything met our expectations. The restaurant is neat and clean, but small, seating less than 20 patrons. Servings are appropriately sized and reasonably priced. Probably the best Indian in the area. Friendly people and outstanding food. I had the chili chicken and Tika masala with naan. I can't think of anything they could have done better. I do have one complaint. GET MORE SEATING! three tables isn't enough. I think they are planning mostly take out, but I think the food deserves to be eaten hot from the oven. Cheers! We had an absolutely fantastic dine-in experience at this family-owned new restaurant at Glastonbury! Every dish we ordered was authentic & a masterpiece. Be it the perfectly creamy and melt-in-your-mouth North Indian dish - Malai Kofta, fresh fluffy & soft Garlic naan or the South Indian (Tamil nadu) dish - Chettinadu Chicken, Pomfret Fry that captured the authentic essence of South Indian flavors. The true star of the meal was the Pomfret Fry - crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, and spiced to perfection! The ambiance was good and inviting, and the service was great. Takeout shall be preferred until dining is fully opened. This family that runs the restaurant was very friendly, attentive and eager to listen to us & share recommendations. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine with heartfelt service, this is the place to go. A true culinary delight. North Indian & South Indian flavors are very different & poles apart. And getting right both the North Indian & South Indian flavors is not easy. I could sense that the chef here definitely must be well experienced & knows his craft well to deliver dishes at this level of perfection. Stopped in on road trip- chose this place because of the other Yelp reviews. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic. The food was excellent. I had the Chettinadu, which was new to me. My friend and I were craving Indian food and popped into Indian Grill for lunch. Sara, the wife of the chef, greeted up with a happy smile - like a warm and friendly hug! We ordered so much food! Chicken lollipop (omg yum!), fish curry (authentic!), aloo mutter (so creamy!), tandoori chicken (the char on the bird!), Malabar parotta(like my grandmother used to make), and masala chai (like my mom makes!).
