The Mozzarella sticks were solid, nothing special. It was annoying that they didn't come with marinara sauce though...The curly fries were great, no complaints there. The chicken sandwich was awesome, perfect comfort food, though I asked for no pickles, because they give me migraines,, and they put pickles on anyways...And finally, the chicken bacon grinder was decent, but there wasn't enough filling for the amount of bread. Their food is really good, and I truly enjoy halal food. My husband and I have driven all the way to NYC just to get the halal food from the Tiktok famous halal food truck so we are definitely experts. Nothing beats lamb or chicken over rice with the white and red/hot sauces -- also combined with a Mr. Softee vanilla milkshake. Wooh, I gained weight just writing that. Wanting a quick bite in between errands, we decided to try HFC. I honestly didn't expect much from the tiny spot. However, I was impressed with how that chicken hit the spot! Additionally we tried their pizza and wings which were a hit as well. I do love that they are 100% halal (not like some places that offer very few halal options and the rest are regular items). I had a terrible experience at HFC that I can't overlook. As a Black man, I was asked if I paid for my food after ordering, despite having my receipt in hand. This place has just went completely downhill. My wife and I have been frequenting this location for more than 2 years and our last 3 visits have been so disgusting and terrible. It has to be the result of new ownership. Every little sauce they charge and extra 75 cents for even though it's warranted for the meal. The worker or 'owner' is extremely rude and indifferent. Some nice competition for the excellent NY Chicken & Biscuits just down the street. Same type of menu - fried chicken, burgers, gyros, meat over rice, etc. - but also with pizza and Indian dishes! I gave the chicken over rice a try (a good baseline, I think, for places like this), and it didn't disappoint. The chicken seemed similar to tandoori chicken, the rice was yellow basmati, and there was a scattering of fried peppers and onions, from the tandoori chicken I assume. Plus the required perfunctory lettuce and tomatoes. I should have asked for the white and hot sauces to be slathered on instead of on the side - brain fart on my part. No matter, it's all delicious in the end. I'm sure I'll be back to try their pizza and Indian dishes, but in the meantime, I'm glad just to have another place to get chicken over rice that isn't downtown. If you are hungry but don't know what to eat, come here and I guarantee they'll have something you want, and what's more, they'll make it well too! My favorite here is the lamb over rice, and the lamb is just impeccable, but even the chicken patty was good. The mango lassi, though slightly pricier than some Places, is absolutely delicious, and on the sweeter side.
