My daughter and I tried Avon Grill's Sunday buffet today and everything was fabulous. Nothing was too spicy so naturally I missed the heat, my daughter did not. She was thankful everything was pretty mild. A highlight of the buffet was for sure the hot and sour soup. I must have had four helpings. It was delicious and light and served as a great course between courses. I loved the curry fish and the goat. The naan was served fresh and piping hot at each table. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly and it was totally serve yourself (besides the naan) which was fine by me. I actually prefer that. We will definitely be back to sample more items. For the last year, I've dined and have done takeout from Avon Indian Grill. It's time for an update. I've explored the menu and tried all types of dishes. I plan to try many more. They have been consistently delicious. The food is full of flavor and it's definitely the best Indian food around here. The customer service is always great too. They also offer all you can eat buffet on Sundays, which I have not done yet, but plan to. A few of my favorite dishes are, chicken vindaloo, chicken curry, chicken jafrezi, and chicken tikka masala, wow, I guess I like chicken lol. Their gobu manchurian, which is cauliflower fried in spicy and tangy sauce is so delightful. The only constructive criticism is, the portions while dining in the restaurant versus takeout is different; they offer more when you dine in, from my experience. I won't detract any stars because the food is that good. It's located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. Getting in and out of the plaza was easy since there is a traffic light. The restaurant interior is cozy and clean. Overall, a great spot for Indian food and definitely my favorite around here. read more

My Wife was craving some Indian food the other day and we decided to get some. We ordered from Avon Indian Grill via Uber Eats for the 1st time. The food absolutely blew us away. It was so good that I wanted to order more. We both got the Chicken Tiki Marsala Curry with Garlic Naan bread, Samosa and it definitely blew us away. I'd love to go eat in person sometime. Ventured out to Avon for our anniversary date night and was surprised with Indian food! Being one of my favorite cuisines, I was excited to try their tikka masala curry and how it compares to my other favorites. Off the bat, the ambiance is beautiful and very fancy. The waiters were in suits and we even had a candle (fake) on our table. The curry wasn't bad but didn't taste too authentic, probably to cater for the majority. I got medium spice level and could've gone for their spiciest as I didn't taste much spice. The naan was thick and generous, but I prefer mine on the crispier side. We were asked if we wanted ice with our drinks and after accepting, we were informed that their ice wasn't working. Overall, we can save the 40 minute trip here but it was worth the experience for date night! read more

This is my first time here. It doesn't have a lot of decor on the outside or inside. They do have a waiting pitcher of tap water at the table. For our beers, we are having the Kingfisher. There is no bartender so mused drinks are not available. The crowd is really light at 7:45 PM. The music is definitely authentic. Kingfisher is a popular Indian lager beer brewed by United Breweries Limited. It's known for its crisp, clean, and balanced flavor profile and is the largest-selling beer brand in India. Kingfisher comes in various strengths and is also available in a non-alcoholic version. At least it is served on a cute, medium-sized chill mug. It's nice. I like it. For our first appetizer, we are trying the Vegetable Samosa made which is a fried pastry with a savory filling including spiced potatoes, onions and peas. The samosa sauces are mint and tamarind. These are good! I love those sauces! For our second appetizer, we are trying the Chili Chicken which is a sweet, spicy and slightly sour crispy delight made with chicken, bell peppers, garlic, chili sauce and soya sauce. We are now alone here. The music has awkward moments of silence (a minute), but it's not a big deal. The chili chicken is good and not super spicy (asked for hot). It's lightly sautéed in a thick sauce. It's nicely garnished with parsley. For his soup, Boomer is having the Mulligatawny Soup which is made with a purée of lentil, lemon, ginger and coconut milk. It is very hot (temp) with a slightly spicy taste. I am having the Hot & Sour soup which is a Chinese, savory, tangy mix of vegetable and chicken. This is much different than the Chinese version with a thicker broth. I like it! For Boomer's entree, he's having the Tandoori Shrimp which are "big size" shrimp marinated with herbs and spices traditionally made in a pot oven. He says it is quite good! I am having the Lamb Madras which is a boneless lamb cooked with coconut, mustard seeds and curry leaves. I like the presentation (the carrot fence around the tomato and the three ginger sticks). This is good! It's much spicier now! For our final drink, we are each having a Taj Mahal beer. Taj Mahal traces its roots back to Bangalore, India to the year 1857, when the sight of bullock carts carrying huge barrels of beer to customers, was a common sight! The source brewery has remained unchanged from the time Taj Mahal Lager was first introduced to the US market in 1983. It is brewed with the "finest" malt and hops. This is a BIG bottle (22 ounces). The bottle is nice and cold. This is definitely lighter than the Kingfisher. For dessert, I'm having the Kheer. This is rice pudding made with milk, cream and sugar. I like it! Yummy! Boomer is having the Gajar Halwa which is graded carrot pudding with a cardamom flavor. It's a bit heavy but he likes it! Definitely a delicious meal here! read more

Not good. Had weekday lunch. Served in a plastic take away container (dining in). It was cold. I am guessing it's not cooked to order and just scooped out of the fridge. When I mentioned it to the server he took it back and microwaved it. Inedible. I didn't eat it after tasting it the second time but they still charged me and offered no apology. Maybe it's better on weekends when they might put some effort in? I would recommend you stay away. read more

Four of us tried a variety of dishes for lunch--vegetarian, chicken, lamb, with naan and samosas. The service was courteous and patient, and the waiter even, when asked, gave us a small sample of a dish that we were wondering about. Every single dish was perfect. There's not much to change in what we said earlier: the Sunday buffet is a delicious treat. It's only gotten better since we began going last year. The restaurant is very clean, the servers very friendly and helpful, the buffet has about 20 choices, vegetarian and meaty (especially fond of the curry shrimp), and the server brings around the warm naan. The price is $19.95 which is certainly reasonable given the opportunities to stuff yourself with yummy Indian food. We expect to continue visiting to enjoy this Avon pleasure. read more

I recently revisited Avon Indian Grill when I had a migraine and had no food at home. I made a mistake when ordering and ordered Chicken Tikka rather than Chicken Tikka Masala. When I arrived, the host immediately asked if I intended to order Chicken Tikka and was gracious enough to explain the difference. He told me to make myself comfortable while the chef made complimentary masala sauce for me to take home. While I waited, he sat with me and went over some of his favorite items on the menu and how they differed from my standard Chicken Tikka Masala order. It was such a wonderful, heartwarming experience and truly what I needed to lift my spirits after a rough day. I do wish their entree prices were slightly lower, but the prices for their sides are much more competitive than some other Indian restaurants we frequent. Regardless, their customer service is so wonderful that we are going to make it a point of visiting them more often! read more

A few days ago, Avon Indian Grill posted in a local Facebook group about the outrageous charges restaurants pay for delivery services. Unfortunately in today's world, if a business doesn't offer delivery they lose out to the ones that do. I admittedly never considered the loss of revenue to my favorite restaurants and just assumed I was the one paying the fee for the convenience of not having to go out. After posting my comment, I was contacted by Naren, who offered me a complimentary lunch. I've only ever had authentic Indian food once (a few weeks ago) and was more than happy to try them out as well. Since I work during the day, I set up a time to pick up my lunch to go. The restaurant may be a little easy to miss, tucked away in a small plaza with a few other businesses on route 44. There seemed to be plenty of parking in the lot in front. The restaurant had a nice ambiance to it. Small, but not cramped. There was soft music playing and it wasn't too loud or too quiet... I had the Chicken Tikka Masala lunch special, which I told my 22yr old son I would share with him. It was delicious, but my son was too slow getting out of bed to come have some lol. I saved him a bite and told him we could order more for dinner if he wanted to. When my younger son got home from school he was pretty jealous he didn't get to try it so we ordered dinner and I went back to Avon Indian Grill a second time. Although this time it wasn't a free meal, there was a 10% promo code I was able to use. My 16yr old decided he wanted to try goat... Totally NOT my thing, but I let him get it. We all tried it and I was surprised that it was pretty good! We also got more Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and garlic naan. Everything (including the goat) was delicious, and kid approved.
