Ventured out to Avon for our anniversary date night and was surprised with Indian food! Being one of my favorite cuisines, I was excited to try their tikka masala curry and how it compares to my other favorites. Off the bat, the ambiance is beautiful and very fancy. The waiters were in suits and we even had a candle (fake) on our table. The curry wasn't bad but didn't taste too authentic, probably to cater for the majority. I got medium spice level and could've gone for their spiciest as I didn't taste much spice. The naan was thick and generous, but I prefer mine on the crispier side. We were asked if we wanted ice with our drinks and after accepting, we were informed that their ice wasn't working. Overall, we can save the 40 minute trip here but it was worth the experience for date night!

Lunch special - great value and taste.

The quality of the indian food at this spot is way above average! My first time having the lunch special-delicious and filling and great options. Service is great as well as they aim to please all pallets. Will be back for sure.

This is my first time here. It doesn't have a lot of decor on the outside or inside. They do have a waiting pitcher of tap water at the table. For our beers, we are having the Kingfisher. There is no bartender so mused drinks are not available. The crowd is really light at 7:45 PM. The music is definitely authentic. Kingfisher is a popular Indian lager beer brewed by United Breweries Limited. It's known for its crisp, clean, and balanced flavor profile and is the largest-selling beer brand in India. Kingfisher comes in various strengths and is also available in a non-alcoholic version. At least it is served on a cute, medium-sized chill mug. It's nice. I like it. For our first appetizer, we are trying the Vegetable Samosa made which is a fried pastry with a savory filling including spiced potatoes, onions and peas. The samosa sauces are mint and tamarind. These are good! I love those sauces! For our second appetizer, we are trying the Chili Chicken which is a sweet, spicy and slightly sour crispy delight made with chicken, bell peppers, garlic, chili sauce and soya sauce. We are now alone here. The music has awkward moments of silence (a minute), but it's not a big deal. The chili chicken is good and not super spicy (asked for hot). It's lightly sautéed in a thick sauce. It's nicely garnished with parsley. For his soup, Boomer is having the Mulligatawny Soup which is made with a purée of lentil, lemon, ginger and coconut milk. It is very hot (temp) with a slightly spicy taste. I am having the Hot & Sour soup which is a Chinese, savory, tangy mix of vegetable and chicken. This is much different than the Chinese version with a thicker broth. I like it! For Boomer's entree, he's having the Tandoori Shrimp which are "big size" shrimp marinated with herbs and spices traditionally made in a pot oven. He says it is quite good! I am having the Lamb Madras which is a boneless lamb cooked with coconut, mustard seeds and curry leaves. I like the presentation (the carrot fence around the tomato and the three ginger sticks). This is good! It's much spicier now! For our final drink, we are each having a Taj Mahal beer. Taj Mahal traces its roots back to Bangalore, India to the year 1857, when the sight of bullock carts carrying huge barrels of beer to customers, was a common sight! The source brewery has remained unchanged from the time Taj Mahal Lager was first introduced to the US market in 1983. It is brewed with the "finest" malt and hops. This is a BIG bottle (22 ounces). The bottle is nice and cold. This is definitely lighter than the Kingfisher. For dessert, I'm having the Kheer. This is rice pudding made with milk, cream and sugar. I like it! Yummy! Boomer is having the Gajar Halwa which is graded carrot pudding with a cardamom flavor. It's a bit heavy but he likes it! Definitely a delicious meal here!

Solid place for Indian food. We live in the area and love Indian food, so this a good place to have a good meal. The people working there were super friendly and although not quite 5 stars, it is a good 4.3 in my book. I would definitely be coming here again in the future. Nice place

My son and I went today for first time. It was delicious, we both tried almost every thing they had at the buffet. I do not like fish or goat so passed on those dishes. My son tried both and said they were delicious. The Naan bread was amazing fresh. I took one photo only. We definitely will be returning

Oh the smell..!! The wonderful smell of spices and meat cooked in a tandoor... the temptation only grows from the moment you enter. I'll get straight to the point, the best way to sample everything is to get the mixed grill... a bit of chicken/shrimp/lamb cooked in all the wonderful spices and served on a sizzler. Since I don't eat lamb I tried the chicken trio it's their other sampler of 3 kinds of chicken kebab. Take it from an Indian...when I say, it's probably one of the best Indian restaurants in the area.

Butter chicken and sagwalla, very good.

Went back again. The sauces were much thicker and better and although the leg pieces for tandoori chicken seem a little smaller, it was still very good. You get two legs and two thighs with each order and at least the thighs are regular size so overall definitely a good place for Indian food.

Honestly, after reading the reviews, I wasn't too confident I would even be able to eke on in for dinner, but my God was I able to get in, and thank the LORD I was able to find a parking spot with such a full lot of cars! What started as a solo trip to J Timothy's became a welcome table event when fellow Yelper Angie showed up with her husband and invited me over to their table. I'm SO glad we were able to have that happen! It became one of the best post-event dinners I've had yet. It did take a bit of time to decide between the three of us, but we eventually split our checks, with me taking care of my order and Angie taking care of the rest. We had Kate as a waitress, and might I say, she was not only nice and efficient, but she was very knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful and accommodating. I immediately requested a take-out box and she delivered just like that. She was even knowledgeable on what foods and such were made in-house and what wasn't, which is honestly very impressive! Also note, we all got to have a taste of everything that came in tonight, so we got lots of food to get to! We did have the wings for our appetizers. I did the 10-wing Dirt Style Honey BBQ Gold for mine, and they got I wanna say 20(?) Buffalo wings. They were cooked to perfection, and I was able to twist the bones off the flats. Both flavors were good, but even though it could possibly be my bias talking, I did prefer my flavor of wings. I will say the Buffalo had that signature spice level there, but it didn't overpower the wing, which is awesome! Oh, and there were also the potato skins which was rated perfectly, and that tasted really good as well. For the entrees, this is why I immediately requested the box. My order was the full rack of ribs. Angie got the chicken pot pie. Usually, I don't eat pot pies, but the one Angie ordered was honestly very good. Flaky, buttery crust top, and savory filling or chicken, potatoes, peas, etc. As for my ribs, whenever I tried to cut them, all the meat kept falling off the bone! That's how you know it was cooked properly! And dear God were these ribs were delicious, succulent, and delicious! Did I mention they were delicious? The BBQ sauce was a symphony of bliss that helped make each bite of rib taste like I went to Cloud Nine! The coleslaw it came with was good, but it's not something I would say can compete with the South. But good all the same. Drinks were great too. I got the Dragon Fruit Martini(?), and that was sweet and relaxing to have after a long summer and a long drive to Plainville. Oh, and we also got dessert! Again we picked different things: Angie ordered the "Not Fried Chicken" while I went with the Key Lime Pie. Wherever these guys get their key lime pie from, keep them coming and let me know so I can get some more myself! The raspberry sauce was a great choice for accompaniment and complimented the pie nicely. And the slice was divine! The Not Fried Chicken is a very innovative idea, and it tasted good as well. I can see now why this place gets so much love. It's insane how good this place is in just about every aspect! The sink did take a bit to learn, but that was about my only criticism, other than that this place easily gets 5 stars from me, and I am so glad to have had this dinner with Angie and meet her husband. #KeepYelping

The Gold BBQ wings were my favorite--crispy, sticky, and packed with flavor. They had the perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and tangy without being overpowering. The Buffalo wings were excellent too, with a classic sauce that had just the right amount of heat and a great buttery finish. The wings came out crispy even after being sauced, which is harder to do than most places make it look. Service was friendly, the atmosphere felt like a classic neighborhood tavern, and you can tell they've been doing this for a long time. If you're anywhere near Plainville and like wings, this place is definitely worth the stop. I'll be thinking about those Gold BBQ wings for a while.

The server (owner?) was very friendly and explained the menu, saying specifically that the chicken sandwiches are made to order.
