My fiancé and I are big Indian fans and love trying new Indian restaurants. We always pass by this plaza but forgetting that Peppers is here. One Thursday evening we wanted to go out for dinner but didn't have a plan on where. My fiancé was just driving and we saw Peppers and was like, ok, today is the day! The parking lot was decently packed so that was a good sign. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entering, we did not realize how large the inside of the restaurant was. Plenty of seating and there was another room on the other side with even more tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress asked if we would like to look at their buffet options and after a quick look, we decided to just order off of the dinner menu for our first time. The place was a tad bit warm for my liking, but hopefully that's only because it was 50° outside. I always get the chicken tikka masala when I try new Indian restaurants as a baseline on how I determine if I liked their curry. My fiancé was a bit more adventurous and tried the Karaikudi chicken. We got two orders of naan, the garlic and bullet, and shortly after our food arrived. I went over to wash my hands before feasting and saw there were sinks lined against the wall.. The soap dispenser worked but none of the sinks had running water. So, I headed over to the bathroom, soap in one of my hands. The tikka masala was on the thicker side of what I'm used to, and was not as red compared to other places. I appreciate the light use of red food coloring, but the thickness of the curry kinda threw me off. I also asked for it spicy but this tasted more of a medium level, when I wanted that nose-dripping sweating feeling. I appreciated the amount of chicken that came with it, but it wasn't as fall-apart tender as I would have liked. It also seemed as though this was made in bulk and just scooped out when ordered because it was just warm and not as hot. Not my favorite tikka masala, but I would try another one of their dishes. My fiancé thoroughly enjoyed his Karaikudi chicken. He ordered his as medium spicy but it came out spicier than my dish. His was also a lot hotter in temperature so I enjoyed it more as well. He had a pleasant experience and would return. The naan was the star of the show. I enjoyed the slight crisp and chewiness and it paired well with the curries. I did not appreciate how the hot curries were served in plastic dishes as that is not the best for your health. For something that high in temperature they should consider investing in ceramic dishes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were also given cheap plastic black dishes to eat on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was curious about how much the buffet costed so I asked our waitress. I'm not sure if it was her thick accent but I'm pretty sure I heard $49.99 per person. Holy cow. We were there for dinner time but what an incredibly steep price! My fiancé and I ended up spending around $50 with enough food to also take home with us. We cannot justify $50 per person without food to take home. Indian is an incredibly dense and heavy food to consume! I'm really hoping I misheard her, but if that wasn't the case, we wouldn't try their buffet and just order off the normal menu. Overall, we may return to try again. I was pleasantly surprised at the service and ambiance of the place. From our experience, we usually order take out at Indian restaurants because the service is usually lacking, the vibes aren't right, and there's usually a finger in our food as it arrives to our table. I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding our recent visit to Peppers restaurant, Manchester, CT for the Sunday Lunch buffet on 31st May 2026. We arrived at Peppers at 11:45 AM, in line with the opening time of 11:30 AM listed on their website. However, despite being seen by a staff member (lean and tall girl), we were not acknowledged nor informed of any delay. This left several families, including ours--with kids--waiting in the reception area without any guidance. Only at 11:59 AM were we told that the restaurant would open at 12:00 PM, but we were not allowed in until 12:05 PM. If the actual opening time is later, it would be helpful to update this on their website or at least communicate it to waiting customers. Once we were seated, we noticed that the buffet did not include all of the items advertised on their Facebook page and WhatsApp menu. Most notably, the Goat Dum Biryani, which was a deciding factor for us in choosing their restaurant, was missing. This was particularly disappointing as my son cannot eat chicken for medical reasons. When we inquired, the manager informed us that the biryani had burned and was therefore unavailable. Given their experience running this restaurant, it was surprising that only the mutton biryani was affected, while the chicken and vegetarian options were not. Even so, it would have been appreciated if a suitable replacement had been offered, as was done with Coriander rice substituted for Coconut rice. We also noticed that other items--like Fruit Salad and Pickle--were absent from the buffet table, with no replacements provided. Upon requesting mutton biryani just for my son, we were told that mutton was not available at all. Finally, manager offered not pay for my son and have other items instead. As we were started with starter already, we decided to continue the lunch there itself. The situation became more uncomfortable during billing. The same staff member (same girl) who had not acknowledged us earlier came to our table before even we finish the lunch, and after we reminded her about the manager's offer to not charge for my son, she argued with us for quiet sometime instead of checking with the manager. She left abruptly and did not return for quite some time. When I went to her to request the check, she asked me to wait at the table, then delayed further (8 minutes) before finally coming over after another family also asked for their check. The payment process was handled coldly, with no eye contact, thank you, or even an offer for a receipt. The lack of courtesy, missing menu items, and inattentive service made for a very disappointing experience. We came to your restaurant after carefully reviewing your menu online, only to find major items missing and staff who seemed indifferent to guests' concerns. To summarize: - Goat Dum Biryani, Fruit Salad, and Pickle as listed on the menu were unavailable, with no replacements. - Coconut rice was replaced with Coriander rice without notice. - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stirrer was missing from the coffee table setup[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - Website states opening at 11:30 AM, but guests were not allowed in until after 12:05 PM, with no explanation. - Poor customer service and attitude from staff, which could impact repeat business. I'll not recommend this restaurant to anyone going forward. I hope the management take this seriously and take appropriate action to fix these concerns for their long run. read more

Pretty solid indian food, decent decor, reasonable pricing. Being familar with Kumar's before it, and the eastern pizza co beside it, I was interested to see what has changed from the last time I've been to this location. First off, they didn't change any of the decor from Kumars. If you been there when they were Kumar's, they kept all of it. Not a detractor, but besides the name change there isn't much that has changed there. The server was kind, took our orders and offered advice on the menu. I asked for him to bring the heat on the chicken 55, wanted to rue the day I was born. We got samosa's to share, along with a couple naans and some curry to see how their standard fare comes out. Food came out pretty quickly. I will admit that food service always seems to be pretty quick at these smaller locations. We took pics and dug in. The Chicken 55 and fried jalepeno bites were the weak parts of the meal. The coating on the peppers was a thick chickpea shell which was very crunchy but seasoned. The jalepenos didn't provide any heat, and the peppers were mush from the inside. They were probably frozen, but not the best bite. The chicken 55 was only hot in temperature, unfortunately being incinerated and overcooked. There was a good amount of dried peppers mixed in, but they didn't have time to rehydrate and impart that heat into the dish itself. So it wasn't hot. The Samosas were also somewhat basic. No spices in the filling, mostly came off as a chickpea mash in the middle of a pastry wrapper. Not bad, just nothing special either. The rest of the meal came out pretty good though. The curry had perfectly cooked chicken and a flavorful gravy, some earthy spice notes, a good amount of heat, and just a little of the tomato acidic bite. With the lightly fragranced and super light basmati, it was a good bite. I also enjoyed their naan, soft and fluffy. I don't think they do a good job with their stuffing though. The server really overhyped the heat level of the bullet naan we got, but once again we didn't get heat. Overall, as an indian place this one has the promise to be great. Right now, there's some tweaks that need to be done to bring them to the higher levels but it's good for the area. They need to be bolder in their flavors, reduce the acid bite of the tomatoes with maybe a tiny bit of baking soda. Don't overpromise or hype up a dish, and be a little careful with the oil temps if you're using a fryer. read more

This is one of the very largest Indian buffets we have been to in our area. There is a small Chaat table with about 4 items plus two soups. Around the cornor there is a U shape buffet area with at least 25 different hot roll-top buffet units. The vast majority of items on display originate from the South, everything is beautifully presented and maintained at perfect temps. Overall this was a good experience there were, however; several selection that I felt were overly salty. The food was tasty but there are a few other buffets we attend that are smaller and the food we feel is better there . A large selection of items is difficult to execute and is reflected in a higher price approximately $25/ person is what you should expect to pay at Peppers. Peppers is worth a stop as you will be introduced to many new items perhaps you haven't seen before. Previously this place used to be Kumars Indian restaurant. There was a buy one get one biryani promotion happening. I went with a Chicken Ulvacharu Biryani and a Veg dum biryani. Both were good. Ulvacharu was a slightly different taste from the biryanis I am used to. It had a tamarind taste. For appetizer I had a samosa chole chat. I went for a batura side. I went with spice level of "spicy" which was a bit too spicy for me. Good I didn't go with "Extra Spicy". "Medium Spicy" would have been the right spice level. New place opened in Manchester after Kumars closed down. Tried the first time, There was no waiting to get seated. Menu is on QR code. Service is quick, food comes out on time. We ordered the Karvepaku (curry leaf) chicken it was tasting very sour we had to send it back, they brought it back but it was the same so I suggest you don't order it. All the chicken dishes did not meet any taste expectations. We ordered a vegetable Kerman biriyani which was alright. Also ordered the Vijayawada chicken biriyani which was undercooked and didn't taste like any pulav or biriyani. Also got chicken Hakka noodles which were not that great either. When the bill came we noticed that they double charged for an item, luckily we caught it otherwise we could have ended up paying $30 over then what we had. When they opened peppers they were giving one rice item free with another. The polau was tasty but seemed old. We had stomach upset. We tried another day and we tried chilli fish - not good. Major difference in taste and service from the previous management ( kumars). Went there after hearing good reviews about the change but was still skeptical owing to the bad experience we had when it was Kumars. Surprisingly the food was good and the server was super helpful with her suggestions on the order we placed(eventually). I don't usually post with names but here Saranya ( the server) went all the way to help us making sure that we order dishes with adequate spice level and also suggesting on kids menu. I attended a private event at the restaurant. While the decor may not be fancy, the food quality was very good. Each dish has a distinct and tasty flavor. I've eaten here a lot since I've been in CT. Ordering online is a huge issue. Don't bother ordering anything other than plain rice as a side, as they'll just give you plain rice anyway. The portions for the price are criminal. Half a cup of rice, half a cup of your entree for 30 dollars. If you do order online, it can be up to an hour before your food is ready. When I go in, and I tell them I'm there for a pick up order, I'm told "the food takes a while" which is odd since I have only told them I'm there to pick something up. It's like they expect me to be upset by how long it's taking. The person running the front is also the only waitstaff they have, so you'll be waiting a while just to even see someone as well. It's really a shame since the food is delicious. And every time I go, the issues seem worse and worse. Tried this for the first time. We love Indian food, and we were intrigued by so many dishes on the menu that we'd never heard of before. All I am saying is...stick with correct opening hours for food as advertised on your website. If you will have food ready at noon, then simply update the hours of operation to reflect that!
