Salmon Avocado Roll and Yellowtail Roll

Sushi was very good and was so delicious with every bite. People were very nice and it was so relaxing inside.

Added chicken tempura to a spicy crab, cream cheese, and avocado roll

Kobe is one of our go to spots for some decent sushi. I really enjoy their hot and sour soup, extra spicy. Prices are reasonable and the quality of sushi is pretty great! The ambiance looks kinda fancy so it's a great date spot as well. Everything comes out super quick and we always end with their fabulous fried ice cream!!

The food was super good and the service was good. Drink was not strong and had good flavor. It was quick to come out and the server was easy to find when needed! We went before dinner rush and it was awkward with no music and sitting really close to people, as the time got later music turned on and it got louder but was very weird right away. Overall good choice for dinner! Well worth the money!!

Vino, our hibachi chef was AMAZING! Funny, kid-friendly, and the food was great. My daughter loved the experience. Will be back!

"Love is so simple, to quote a phrase You've known it all the time, I'm learnin' it these days It's a price I have to pay You're a big girl all the way" (Bob Dylan) This big restaurant is in a big shopping plaza that's very easy to get to. Take 291 to the Tolland Turnpike exit, and look for the big plaza with a McDonald's as your landmark Kobe has it all, large dining rooms, large hibachi rooms, and a big bar. After some shopping at the cool At Home store (we bought a new coffee table), we were in the mood for lunch and hadn't had Asian food in a while. So when we saw Kobe just a hundred feet or so away, well, that sort of sealed the deal for our plans. Kobe's menu is a work of art with hundreds of choices among soups, salads, appetizers (how about Korean Fried Squid?), sushi and sashimi, dinner entrees,, noodle and rice dishes, a slew of hibachi choices, and 35 or so lunch specials from 11:30 - 3:00 every day except Sunday. The lunch menu is broken down into categories. The "Set Lunches" with miso soup and a salad have your traditional Asian fusion choices, with things like Pad Thai, Lo Mein, General Tso, and "Broccoli with" dishes. White or Brown rice is included with all but the noodle dishes. Other categories include three Sushi Lunch Specials, six Bento Lunch Boxes, Maki Lunch Specials with 2 or 3 of their 24 rolls, and ten Hibachi Lunches. Lunch prices range from $12 to $19. We both went into the $12.95 "Set Lunch" section and ordered a Pad Thai and a Thai Basil Chicken, which I asked for double spicy. Our Miso soups were a bit larger than I expected and were good, as were the iceberg and bok choy salads. I liked my Thai Basil a lot. First of all, it had quite a bit of tender chicken slices among the scallions, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, pea-pods, carrots. The rice was soft and well cooked, and that zippy double spicy sauce was excellent. I had half yesterday and will finish it today. My wife's Pad Thai looked like a pretty generous portion with a nice garnish of crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. After tax, our total was $27.80, and that will yield four meals for us. All in all, we had an excellent experience at Kobe.

Food was good and price seems good for the large portions we got. Bathrooms could definitely have been a little cleaner. Super friendly staff.

Steak Hibachi Entree

Picked this place because it was near Dave and Busters. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and seated. Super nice staff. Place was popular tonight for hibachi but the rest of the restaurant was empty. We had to wait for other people to show up to the table and started with gyoza. Wasn't bad wasn't great. Not a lot of filling or flavor really. The hibachi, unfortunately my boyfriend and I were at the end of the table. The chef was entertaining, offered sake and put on a show. Didn't do the vegetable catch like the other tables were doing. Since I was on the end I ended up eating my food within 15 minutes as there wasn't much on my plate. My favorite noodles gone in two bites. Vegetables gone in three bites. Very disappointed more wasn't brought out or portioned correctly. The steak was really tough as there were a lot of tendons making it hard to eat and chewy. The rice was really hard not sure if it wasn't cooked all the way or left on the black stone for too long.

Thai Basil Fried Rice

A solid choice for a variety of asian cuisine. They have chinese, thai, and sushi. I got the basil fried rice with the pad thai and it was flavorful, while the meat was tender.

Chemical sprayer and jug of odor killer. Why am I seeing this?

I'll keep this brief. Strip mall sushi joint. Lunch. Empty (bad sign.) Sake. Undrinkable poison. Sushi/Sashimi Combo. Scary enough that I was 50% certain I was going to be in gastric distress before I got home. Oddly, the presentation was good. But the fish was generally past its due date, and the "spicy tuna" that was liberally used everywhere was simply gross. Some strip mall sushi joints are tolerable. Some are decent. This place is neither. Bonus: The chemical sprayer and jug of odor killer left out on a counter top for customers to see.

Beef Lo Mein

Off the beaten path. Hidden gem! The food was spectacular. Service was very attentive and helpful. There were 4 of us and we shared the sushi for two, spider roll and beef lomein. Not only was it enough for all us but even too much. Everything was delicious!

I've ordered from here before for takeout, but this was the first time actually dining in. I have to say it was actually a very nice experience. We ordered a couple hibachi specials and they all came out great! If there's one thing I enjoy, it is dinner and a show. The service was exceptional and our chef really put on a show. I will definitely be making another trip here soon!

Have been here several times through the years, it's been a few since the last time we ate here…read more Unfortunately, this visit left me afraid to ever go back. We stopped in around 3PM, no one else in the place at the time. We spent $75, no alcohol (+$20 tip). Appetizers, included salads, miso soup, chicken tempura and softshell crab. Main courses were seafood tempura and cashew chicken. Nothing seemed to be extraordinarily bad or good. I did notice a fly buzzing around, something that could be concerning, especially inside a sushi restaurant. I didn't give it much thought, I just remember noticing it. Later that day and night, we both began experiencing gastrointestinal issues, requiring many trips to the bathroom, it lasted thru to the next day. If it had only been just one of us, I probably wouldn't have given it much thought or would be leaving this review,. However, since we both had problems, I feel I should put it out there in case anyone else reading this had issues (or worse) from that day (Thursday, 10/30/25). We did not get sick to our stomachs, just 14-16 hours of staying close to the bathroom. I have always enjoyed everything at Higashi and never had a complaint, I say they were all 5-star experiences. After this, I won't risk coming back- I have no doubt we were served something that caused our intestinal distress. Service was great, place appeared clean and why I gave 2 stars. But it bothers me to see any flies inside an eatery, especially since the season and weather was not conducive for fly breeding, flies had to originate from inside the restaurant, they did not wander in from outside.... I've seen too many 'Bar Rescues' to know not all kitchens are kept clean and/or food stored safely. If one sees a fly or flies, it may be in one's best interest to walk out. This rule can be applied to any restaurant, especially ones that not open to the outside and/or during a season that is well past fly-breeding conditions. I learned the hard way and will make this a rule of thumb from now on.

I'm back! The restaurant is located at 415 Hartford Tpke, Vernon, CT. It's been about four months…read moresince I was here. This is a family run, laid back place. The music is Classical Japanese. For our first drink. We are having a French Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice. This taste great! They don't use garnishes here and I don't really care. It's well balanced! For our first item, we're having the House Salad. This is made with iceberg lettuce snd a little tomato. This ginger dressing is the best! I love this stuff! For out next item, we ate having an "Oki salad." A traditional Samurai Salad is a Japanese-inspired dish featuring grilled firm tofu, mixed greens, and a pungent ginger dressing. Key ingredients include firm tofu, soy sauce, white wine vinegar, grated fresh ginger, sesame seeds, green onions, and tomato slices. It is often garnished with toasted sesame seeds and served with a soy-ginger vinaigrette. Well, whatever it is! It's quite good! Wow! For our next item, we are having the miso soup. Miso soup is a traditional Japanese staple, combining savory, umami-rich miso paste with a dashi (fish or kelp) broth, typically featuring tofu, seaweed (wakame), and green onions. It is simple to make in under 20 minutes, offering a nutritious, comforting side dish known for aiding digestion, high protein, and mineral content. This is nice and hot! Huge bowl too! For our next item, we are having edamame. Edamame is an East Asian dish prepared with immature soybeans in their pods, which are boiled or steamed, and may be served with salt or other condiments. It is consumed in many world regions. Edamame is a common side dish in Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine and as an appetizer to alcoholic beverages, such as beer or shōchū. As an ingredient, edamame is used in both sweet and savory dishes, such as takikomi gohan, tempura, and zunda-mochi. These are steaming hot! Nice and salty too! Well, put comes the complementary Tuna Tataki. This thinly sliced seared tuna with ponzu sauce. This is fantastic! Wow! For our next item, we are having the Blackened Salmon which is sliced with ponzu sauce. This is spicy! Add soy sauce! This is great! For our next drink, we are having a Melon ball made with Midori vodka and orange juice. This is well balanced! No garnish as normal here! It tastes great! For our next item, we are having Ikura. Red caviar, also known as salmon roe or ikura caviar, is a popular seafood delicacy that comes from salmon and trout roe. It's known for its bright orange color, medium-sized eggs, and thin shells. Red caviar is a staple of Russian cuisine, often eaten during holidays like New Year's. It's high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, and is considered a good source of nutrition. Different types of salmon roe have unique tastes, colors, textures, and sizes. A "taste of the ocean." What's better than that! For our next item, I'm having the Spicy Eel and Shrimp Hand Roll. A hand roll (temaki) is a cone-shaped sushi item featuring seasoned sushi rice, fillings (sashimi-grade fish, seafood, vegetables), and a crisp, toasted nori sheet wrapper. Assembled by hand and eaten immediately by hand (without chopsticks), it offers a customizable, crunchy, and easier-to-make alternative to traditional maki sushi. These are good! Sushi snow cones! For our last drink, we are having the Caribbean Joy. This is made with Bacardi rum, pineapple and lemon juice. This is good! It's the rum version of the last drink! It's quite good! For our entree, we are having the Volcano Roll made with peppery salmon, gently fried, spicy tuna and red/hot sauce. Look at the presentation! OMG! For dessert, I have no idea what's coming out! Oh yeah! This is the bomb! OMG! The surprise of the night! Tempura ice cream! What better than this!!!!

You can eat in. The ambiance is not romantic or cozy. What it lacks in ambiance it truly makes up for it in the taste, quality and portion sizes. The menu has something for most. The House Noodles (no shrimp please) are my go-to! They were my late husband's fave (with shrimp) and you do get a very nice portion. As with everything I have ever ordered, and I've lived in Windsor 23 years, things are cooked to your request, they are thorough, and best of all I have never had to wait forever to pick up my order. They have expanded their menu! They participate with popular delivery services. I choose to pick up as I have the time to and do not like others handling my order.
