For my first item, I'm having the House Green Salad. This is made with iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. I LOVE their ginger dressing! I like the soothing music here. This salad is awesome! My office once temporarily relocated near the Avon location, and that Pick & Mix was one of my main workday lunch spots for a while. Pick & Mix's bowls seem like a pretty healthy way to eat flavorful food. My wife and I decided to order takeout from the Glastonbury Pick & Mix, and to eat at the gazebo at Riverfront Park. I've known that Glastonbury had a Pick & Mix, but I didn't know where it was. Turns out it's in the same plaza as a bunch of other Glastonbury favorites I hadn't located. Zinneken's Belgian Waffles. Whole Deli. Harry's Pizza. El Pollo Guapo. This discovery was like the un-earned ending of a culinary "National Treasure", or even "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets". Looking at the menu, I immediately wanted the spicy pork. It was outstanding. The pork almost seemed shaved and it had a spicy, flavor bomb of a marinade. It was WOW good. The vegetables, especially the tender leafy spinach, were the perfect compliment to the pork. It also had slivers of carrots and onions, and was topped with sesame seeds. I chose glass noodles as the side, and I swirled noodles into the main dish as I created room. Terrific, terrific dish. I also had to try a "Korean Style Hot Dog", when I noticed the sign. They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. Two people manning the entire restaurant, deep in the orders and unable to assist the front. Going to the kiosk, put in a bowl and everything is an up charge. Want noodles? Extra. Want veggies? Extra. Want them combined with the protein? Extra. Then there's upsales after each bowl entry and when you go to check out. Even after all that, two junior bowls end up costing 36 bucks. The portion was fine for the price paid, and the quality of the food was good for a chain. None of my problems are the fault of the employees, they literally had no time between making orders to address the inbound customers. The problem is the company, and they are openly hostile towards their customer base. Unless you specifically are looking for a teriyaki bowl, I would highly advise that you look local and support those businesses before choosing this place. It's fine in terms of quality, and you'll get a decent product for exorbitant prices. But for me it's a pass
