My friend had seen this place online so we decided to go while I was in town! They have lots to choose from on their menu and a great variety of Vietnamese and Mexican options. I decided on the phoritto. You choose a meat and filling for it so you can customize it. I kept mine pretty simple but they had the viet toppings on one section and the Mexican in one too. I finally finally got the chance to eat at MexiPHO today. This place has been on my Bookmarks list I feel like since they first opened which is at least 5 years ago. I always thought the concept was pretty cool and I headed in fully intending on ordering the Phorito but I saw Al pastor tacos and the plethora of fresh toppings so I had to try those. My daughter got the original pho on the children's menu and we shared the nachos with queso. I also got a lime margarita and my daughter got a mango boba tea. I'm not kidding when I say the total came to 50$. I was so shocked since I'm used to spending at least 75 when the two of us go out. I tried my daughter's pho and the flavor was definitely there. The tacos were amazing. So so good. The set up is like chipotle. The toppings I chose were sour cream, hot sauce, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, radish, and red onion. There's also a fire chilli sauce that I got a side of over by the plasticware and napkins. Elevated the tacos even more. Chefs kiss! There's plenty of seating inside. As a Viet who's super picky about pho, I'm obsessed with the phorrito. I got the brisket/steak (I didn't realize it's "$1.89 extra") and the Vietnamese style toppings, black beans, lettuce, carrots, and a dash of salsa. I wish I tried it with birria instead but overall it was so good. They even have yellow sriracha as a condiment. I haven't had the Mexican food itself yet, but my friends love it. The woman working there helped me through the process of figuring out what to put in the burrito, and she apparently did a great job because the final result was fantastic. MexiPho is one of those places that my fiancé and I drove past so many times and wondered what it was like - so we finally visited! Honestly, our expectations were exceeded. I literally have not been able to stop thinking about the phorrito I had!! I just loved everything about it, especially the rice noodles. Typical sponsored Social media influencer over-hyped food, with a side of New Jersey used car dealership Sleazebaggery. I never thought there would be hidden fees on a burrito, that honestly was less impressive than a hot pocket. During the construction of the burrito and bowl process not once the server had mentioned that he was pushing as delicious and better than the other ingredients were extra charge, so naturally I say yeah put them on. After I paid full price plus a generous tip, they don't give me receipts, after I finish eating I look at the charge on my cc and wondered why two burritos almost cost $50 dollars. I went and asked for a receipt and that took them 10 minutes to print. that's when I discovered the hidden feed, and the manager stone-walled me and told me the "price is the price" Price is the price for a shitty burrito I thought, that's some good customer service, completely absurd behavior, then he offered me a stale piece of cake instead of a refund which is of the same value, so the $8 or $ refund would have solved our problem. I refused because of his absurd condescending demeanor that reminded me of an NJ used car shopping experience I had long ago. He said the price was posted on the screen on the wall, look at the pictures I have included and tell me if you can see the prices or the tiny print for the add-ons, they charged $1.99 for Birria (that was so cold that you can feel the cow fat coat the inside of your mouth) was posted for $1.89 The slimy Queso cheese was $1.45 which is nowhere to be found on the screen. The three slices of onion and two slices of red peppers were charged at $.89 which was not posted on the board also. I posted the pictures and judge for yourself, this is not your place if you love Mexican or Pho, this is a loser combo that should have had the bankers that financed this idea rolling on the ground when they heard it, but the sleazy management convinced them that they'll make money thanks to the fake social media reviews and $5 upsells per sad burrito. read more

My wife and I were both home with a cold, and we ordered soup from Mexipho via DoorDash delivery. I've never known exactly how to think of Mexipho because I've only eaten there once. Is it a place that serves Mexican food and Vietnamese food? Is it a Mexican/Vietnamese fusion place? Is it a little of each concept? I ordered pho with Birria as the meat and beef broth as the base. From the listed options, I selected noodles, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, onions, hoisin and sriracha. It didn't taste or look like the pho broth at any of the area Vietnamese places I like. It was redder, more soupy and seasoned, and less brothy. The Birria was good. I didn't like the noodles as well as my favorite pho spots. The pho was light on add-ins. This pho was decent, but next time, I'll stick with a classic area pho. I wasn't a fan of the packaging and pricing options. The Vietnamese pho places I'm experienced with separately package the broth and other ingredients so that the noodles don't degrade and get mushy. The two places I checked do this at no charge or for $1 extra. At least via DoorDash, Mexipho will do this, but they charge an extra $3 on top of the $13.64 Birria pho charge. This doesn't include DoorDash delivery charges, etc. Given the $3 charge, I opted for the single container, and it worked out because it's a fairly short trip from Mexipho to our place and we ate right away. There wasn't even a separate container of lime, bean sprouts, basil, Etc. It was all with hot pho. I procrastinate for four years while I worked right across from there.. and I finally did with a family who wanted to try everything on the menu luckily we had a coupon ($10 off $30) seemed like a good deal. It has been a while since I ate here. With all the positive reviews, decided to give them another shot. This time around, much better! I didn't opt for their fusion options, instead sticking to their mexican side of things. I did a burrito bowl with ground beef, yellow rice, and various fixings. The ground beef was a bit greasy, but the ingredients were fresh and the flavor was strong If I had to compare it to somewhere, it's like chipotle with actual flavor. Given that there is an actual chipotle not that far away from this place, would rather get a bowl or tacos from here. Service was fine, staff was accommodating. Meal was fairly inexpensive for the quality you get. It's a good mexican place. Don't think it's authentic mexican, but they put a good foot forward. The stumbling block for me is the concept. They don't do spring rolls, they don't do vietnamese coffee, don't do bubble tea, they don't do any real fusion of flavors beyond their "pho-rrito". So it seems like this would be a place to get some interesting riffs on vietnamese food and mexican, a flair for the exotic with a base of the familiar. Given their entire menu though, it's a mexican place first and foremost. If you go in expecting a mexican place, you'll find lots to like around here. Phó in a burrito is likely one of the greatest culinary fusions. I had a rough day, having not missed a telephone pole while backing out of a parking spot, and everything that could have gone wrong at work did. I wasn't even hungry, from all of the stress, so I walked in, on the verge of tears, and ordered the Phorito, traditional style. By the end of the meal, I was all smiles. I was thirsty for the rest of the day though, so I'm guessing that there was more than days worth of sodium and sugar in that meal. read more

Mexican and Pho. MexiPHO. I don't know about this. Or at least I didn't. I've honestly been skeptical for years but I finally tried it and well....it works! But it could be better. I was originally going to give this place 3-Stars because in my opinion, for $11-12 I have gotten more filling and larger burritos which still have great quality elsewhere. But then again it wouldn't be a PHORRITO. That name is too funny. If you put the right mixture of ingredients and of course use their signature Phorrito Sauce, you will really get that kick of Pho. You'll be like "wow they really made my burrito taste like Pho". And I mean, it works! It tastes good! I put noodles, steak (extra $1.25 or $1.50 come on!) cilantro, bean sprouts, basil and Phorrito Sauce. They also have carnitas and other meats but the carnitas Phorrito is excellent with black beans. Unfortunately their actual Pho is like a 6/10. If you do take out they put it all in one container, just a heads up for those who like everything separate to avoid soggy ingredients. If you want Pho soup I guess it's OK to get it here but don't expect much. Service is quick, friendly and GrubHub ordering is a breeze. In conclusion, I could actually reccomend this Vietnamese and Mexican Fusion. Not bad! But other than the Phorrito there isn't much fusion. It's just a place with Mexican food, Vietnamese Soup and one Burrito that mixes it up. Not bad but there could be more fusion since, it's in the name! Not bad at all, but could be better. When I went I ordered PHO, it taste good and I was able to choose some different additives I'm not typically able to get at other PHO restaurants. I added steak with cilantro, bean sprouts, mushrooms and the PHO sauce. It was a HUGE burrito. My DH went Mexican with tacos and love the steak and chicken was so-so on the pork. My kid had a cheese quesadilla with chicken and liked it too. We got chips and salsa with the medium salsa which was a green tomatillo salsa. I REALLY like that! It's an absolute no from me. The food is scarce. The restaurant is clean. The service was not good at all. I felt rushed and no one told be about all the extra charges that you wouldn't be charged for at similar locations. The ingredients are fresh but so expensive for what you get. $1.75 for a tiny tiny scoop of guacamole. I ended up paying $18 for a bowl with tax?!?! The margarita tasted like juice. I doubt there was any tequila in here. No. This place is just a big rip off. Go to Chipotle or Moe's. You can get 2 bowls for the price of one here. They should be ashamed of their prices here. Yes, they have menu items that highlight dishes from each country as their respected individual dishes like authentic burritos and hot pho soup that I crave during the cold days of Connecticut's winter, but their brilliance lies within the line that divides them. The Phoritto. Deliciously tender rice noodles, crispy bean sprouts, Thai basil, and their house made "phoritto sauce" which is reminiscent of hoisin with a spicy and savory uplift. You can add any of their other burrito compliments, all which add layers of flavor and texture. You can't go wrong with their slow roasted carnitas! Need a decent taco? This will do the job. I'm into those old school Tacorral type tacos. Remember tacorral in Manchester? Basic Tex mex stuff. They were good. You can go to Tacobell and get the same basic thing. Crunchy taco with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and orange cheddar thrown in there. But Tacobell is some kind of wannabe taco, with a flimsy shell that falls apart, and a teaspoon of ground beef stuff in it. SAD!! MexiPHO embarrasses Tacobell. Big crunchy shell, and you can ala carte the thing with a myriad of... taco stuff. I had em throw some yellow rice and refried type beans in at the bottom of the taco as well. Like a meal in a taco shell. You can get those Mexican style soft shells if that floats yer boat, but I dont want some limp taco, I want some crunch noises going on, So... yah, this is the spot. Being a hybrid, with pho in the title, they do have some noodle bowls in case you have a cold and need some chicken noodle action. I have yet to explore their asian side, but will go back and explore the menu further. I'll let ya know. But for now, thats a five star taco. I like Vietnamese, I like Mexican, so let's try it....well...it was the worst of both worlds...on the Pho side, broth was warm, water-y and tasteless, maybe my fault for going vegetable broth.....I guess I shouldn't compare this Pho to Pho 501 or Pho House, who set the standard. The menu is heavy on familiar Mexican foods like tacos and nachos and quesadillas and burritos, very light on Vietnamese offerings (just Pho) and tempts you with one super intriguing combination that mashes up the two ethnic genres into one. Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the boundary breaking Phorito. I couldn't resist that delectable duo of a combination. It's a burrito filled with Mexican ingredients- your choice of meat, rice, refried beans, and pico de gallo. But you can also Pho it up, and add whatever else you want to achieve "Phonessity"- like I did, adding diced jalapenos, rice noodles, bean sprouts and cilantro to the diced beef I selected. I went to their Spicin' Station and like a mad scientist created a mixture of soy sauce, hoisin sauce and super hot Satay pepper sauce. Just a word of advice, be careful with that Satay! This was a helluva flavor explosion and I loved every bite ! My phorito was an incredible combination of hot and cold, soft and crunchy, spicy and savory. It hit just about every checkpoint on the taste scale. Just a few quibbles about the customer service- 1) the cashier didn't know how to read the Groupon ("sorry this has expired") and confused the printed date with the expiration date, and 2) my wife's quesadilla was served without the advertised pico de gallo and sour cream. But I gotta tell you, that Phorito ($8.95) was one of the very best things I ever had in a fast food style restaurant. It was like having the best of both worlds - Asian meets Mexican cuisine.
