This is one of my favorite spots to grab pho! The broth is so good and the shrimp summer rolls are my favorite !

My friend and I were looking to support a small business for lunch and pleased with the flavor of our food. Youngish guy started us with some water and checked in to see if we were ready to order shortly after we were settled. Interior was clean on a Friday at 11 am. Food came quickly (within 10 min). Most patrons were in and out within 30 min to an hour; we stayed for 3 hours catching up (without prompting, waiter gave us extra carafe of water!) We started with the summer roll and iced coffee, then we got pho (not pictured) and the grilled pork chop. Pho broth had a nice, rich flavor and generous portions of meat and noodles. Pork chop cooked perfectly with a good amount of meat and bbq spices. Overall tasty and worth the visit if you're in the area & looking to support a small business. We noticed a handful of takeout orders. Entrance was a bit tricky because the parking lot is just before the Shield St traffic light and after AutoZone, though, you can turn at the light and loop behind the building for parking. We will definitely be back next time to try the Bahn Mi and other dishes!

Ordered 4 dishes and two drinks. My favorite was the pork spring rolls (forgot to take pic - ate too fast) This place has the most extensive Vietnamese menu I have seen. We love good food and eat at dives like this as well as high end places. This is mom-pop operated. Dad takes order and Mom brings to table. Service is slow but that's to be expected. And it's not fancy or organized. If that doesn't bother you...and you want to try things you couldn't get at a local Vietnamese place--check it out. Food is great but going to give 3 stars for the cleanliness.

Pre-Covid, Pho Saigon was in my Vietnamese food rotation. I've ordered vermicelli bowls, pho, Banh Mi, egg rolls and a few other things. I've always been happy with the food quality. Pho Saigon is not my favorite area place for pho, but it is my area favorite for Banh Mi and a favorite for miscellaneous dishes. The atmosphere at Pho Saigon is mixed. Parts of the inside are quite nice. They have cool floor tiles and nice padded wooden chairs. Some other parts of the business need love. Some of the ceiling tiles should be replaced. The outside sign is seriously faded. Plants outside need pruning. For these reasons, atmosphere is not a selling point for Pho Saigon, but it could be with a little attention. Today, I visited for the first time in a while and ordered a grilled pork Banh mi and fried egg rolls (aka Cha Gio). Service was pretty good. Consistent with my prior experiences, Pho Saigon makes great Banh Mi. The Banh Mi consisted of grilled marinated pork, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, de-seeded jalapeño strips and cucumber on long, terrifically crusty bread that's like a mini baguette. They've created an elaborate dance with contrasting textures and flavors, and bright pops of green and orange color. The pork is salty and sweet. The pickled vegetables are acidic and lightly sweet. The jalapeño provides some heat. The bread and some of the vegetables are crisp, the meat is good chewy and the cucumber and pickled vegetables provide good moisture. This Banh Mi is one of my favorite sandwiches in the area. The egg rolls were good too. The outside was crispy. The filling was flavorful, and I also like the sweet, salty and acidic sauce. Five Stars for the food, but Four Stars overall due to the atmosphere.

Food was fresh fresh!! Try the Clay Pot Tofu w/ Mixed Veggies and their Fresh tofu roll and Peanut Sauce. So delicious you won't want just one! Almost forgot to photo it was so yummy. It was warm, tasty and comforting after a not so great day! Service was wonderful as usual. You will feel spoiled, you're treated so well. Everything is right there we didn't need to ask for anything! It's neat and tidy. Be prepared to experience the timeless comfort of Saigon. Again, do not let location deter your visit. It's a little tucked away.

Seems a bit like a hole in the wall, Pho Saigon in West Hartford really hits the spot for Vietnamese fare. The chicken skewers are almost a full size meal and full of flavor, and served with onions and bell peppers. The spicy lemongrass chicken (U9) was not super spicy but also very flavorful and a good sized portion, and includes bean sprouts, peanuts, and vermicelli noodles. I'd definitely highly recommend both.

Authentic, great tasting Vietnamese food. Silent, but attentive waitstaff. I ordered a pork chop platter and the chop was huge, thick, fatty, and juicy. I enjoyed their fish sauce too. The beef and vermicelli wasn't as noteworthy as the pork chop. It had lemon grass flavor. My guest enjoyed it fully. The egg rolls were overpriced. Almost $7 for 2 rolls and the inside was overfilled with veggies which made it mushy. I tasted the bun bo hue soup and it was delicious. Great flavor: right amount of lemon grass, umami, and spice. Enjoyed the whole experience. I would definitely come back if I found myself in Hartford, CT.

I was here at the heart of all closures on March 20th 2020 during the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. The food was good. Nothing to memorable but nothing bad. Just plain basic food. They were not seating inside at all. Everything was to go orders. Staff was pleasant. Food came out fairly quickly. The coffee was very good.

All I can speak for is the Pho. It's delicious. After a disappointing experience at another place that I've gone to for years - I tried this place . My soup is delicious & the woman who served me a sweetheart.

My first time here today and I decided to do takeout but you can dine in too. The Pho was amazing so flavorful, I definitely want to go back and try other items on their large menu. It's a small, clean and authentic restaurant

I'm not exactly sure how I've gone so long without writing a review here. I'm here at least once a month if not more. Great for big groups or a family gathering. It is definitely one of the best spots in town! First off, they have the crispiest Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pancake) around. They are able to custom make it to ensure my onion and scallion and bean sprout allergy is taken care of. I always try to split with someone to be good but I end up being able to eat a whole one by myself, veggies and all. Pho? Excellent in all broths. I get Pho Tai as my usual and my friends who order Pho Dac Biet are always satisfied. I'm excited to get pho in rain, heat, snow, any weather here. Friends who have come with me to try the yellow noodles or seafood broth also leave super elated with their choices. The flavors are on point and savory for any taste. Not a soup person? Every noodle dish can be ordered dry if you ask for it! I've tasted the yellow noodles dry and they taste just as fantastic. The great thing is there's so much variety to choose from. All of it is authentic in flavor and tastes very good. When relatives came from Texas they accidentally ended up coming back 3 times in one week for the Banh xeo, bun rieu, and the bun cha gio dishes. I've even seen friends and family dabble into the curry and rice dishes and say they're obsessed coming back for more. Pho Saigon is a Vietnamese staple around here. Will always recommend to those when they move here so they can get hooked too!

Now that I have tried Que Huong as they have been here for quite a while now, I realize this hole in the wall is one of my favorite places to get Pho at 9am. Upon walking in you'll quickly realize this is just another small Vietnamese Restaurant run by a family who simply just wants to serve their generational Pho. In a small restaurant like this, that's the vibe I'd want when eating Pho. But really this place isn't that small, there's a few tables up front but plenty of additional seating in an upstairs area. Per usual, I get the Beef Pho that has everything, the Pho Dac Biet. Immediately and in the best way possible, you can feel/taste the bone marrow in this broth more than usual in my opinion. It reminded me of when I ask for extra bone marrow oil in certain Pho restaurants but here at Que Huong, the damage was already done. It was amazing. The quality of the meat here is also outstanding. Nothing is better than getting thick cut pieces of gelatinous brisket that melts in your mouth in addition to the fatty broth. The service was quick, both times I have been here was in and out but never rushed. Everyone here is super friendly and simply grateful that you showed up today to try their wonderful Pho. Street parking out front and there's an open lot across the street as well. If you stalk my check-ins you'll see I frequent many Vietnamese Restaurants as I'm always seeking a bowl of Pho on my days off. I'll just end with this, I'll gladly add Que Huong to my rotation of preferred Vietnamese Restaurants. Maybe even within the top 3.

However, I felt let down by the service experience at this restaurant. After we ordered and the pho came, the table looked strangely empty to me. As someone who frequently eats pho; I realized it was because the waitress never brought the bean spouts, leaves, and lemon/lime slices to put into our broth. I asked if this restaurant serves it and she looked at me strangely and said it was already in the pho. I thought it was so odd, so I explained that when I usually go out for pho in my home state of Hawaii, usually there is a separate small dish brought to the table with all of these items to put into the broth. The waitress then asked if I wanted it and I said yes. About ten minutes later, the waitress brought out a plate and she said that in Avon, most people don't want the sprouts. I wasn't sure if this was because I look like most of the people from Avon (Caucasian), even though I am just visiting. If anything, couldn't she have at least asked if we would like it? We enjoyed our pho and were happy to eat it how we usually do and we ate all our extra bean sprouts. The waitress never came back to ask how was the pho or refill our water. I had to request a copy of my receipt because she did not print one out for me. When I was trying to fill out the receipt/tip, the waitress was trying to have a full on conversation with me asking about the financial burden of living in Hawaii... the timing of this sudden chattiness was not good for me. I was ready to get out of there. All in all, pho was great (thank you lady in the kitchen) but service could have been a lot better. Will probably not come back again. Sorry:(

It's located in the Old Avon Village plaza. There were plenty of parking. The interior was nice; it looked like it used to be a frozen yogurt spot. The hostess/waitress was nice. Unfortunately, there is no kids menu, but we were able to get a small bowl to share our noodles with our toddlers. The food came out slowly, considering we were only 1 out of 3 tables. We ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer; it was very good and fresh with the peanut butter sauce. For my meal, I ordered the Pho House Special; it's $20.95 and has rice noodles, medium rare beef, brisket, and meatballs. This bowl was huge! The flavor was good but the broth was very oily. I added more hoison, chili oil, and siracha for more flavor. We didn't have any sauces and napkins, so we had to flag down the waitress a couple of times. Also, they never refilled our waters. I noticed the prices were very high compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. With everything factored together, I gave them 3.5 stars total.
