We walked into this incredibly clean and cute Vietnamese spot after a craving for pho hit. My son had never had it before so I ordered him pho with sliced brisket and got myself the thinly sliced beef. The broth was delicious, the noodles were perfect, and there was a lot more meat than I expected. They also do boba tea! I didn't get any but I did get a Thai tea. If it weren't so cold I definitely would have gotten boba. The staff was courteous and kind. I saw how patient they were with an older woman that clearly was out of her element. I think this spot has been around for a while and I can definitely see why.
Food was delicious never had pho with cauliflower and broccoli in it and let me tell you I would get it again. I received a lot of food for the price, Atleast for me it was more than enough. Service was average as well as the ambiance.. if you must know it is BYOB... I recommend you give this place a try for yourself, you're sure to like it.... Would of been a 5 star but I had bits of pork in my summer roll even though I asked for it without. Overall I'll be back for another bowl of pho.
Amazing taste with authentic flavors! Must-try and the best pho place, with delicious vegetarian pho available -- perfect for veg lovers.
I had a craving for some pho today and I was looking for a new place to eat. After reading some reviews, I decide to give this place a try. Parking was easy and plentiful. Inside there was a bunch of tables and you are greeted by the host. The place was clean and spacious. I order some boba tea and Pho Dac Biet Tom. The Boba was nice and sweet and the tapioca pearls were the right texture. With my pho I asked for extra onion on the side, which they provided. The Pho broth was flavorful and didn't need any added sauces. They provided a good amount of topping which I love. The topping consisted of bean sprouts, mint, lime and jalapeños. While eating I heard other guests enter. It seems like they have some regulars which is a good sign. I would definitely make a trip here again and try their other dishes.
Pho was great but got as take out and the best packaging I have ever seen for pho - broth was at the bottom of the bowl and then noodles were on a tray that sat on the top - got plenty of sprouts, hunan and siracha - service was top notch - highly recommend
This restaurant is clean and simple. It's cozy and the staff is friendly. I was happy to see they have vegetarian Pho. I was even happier when I tasted it. Flavorful, hot, delicious. I like that they have a spicy sauce and sweet sauce on each table. They also brought out a bowl of basil, sprouts and other treats for us to add to our Pho. Give them a try.
My friend and I went to dinner at Pho Viet in Newington last night. I've been here before, but it's been several years. It looks like they might have had a renovation since my last visit. There's a modern looking neon sign advertising Boba drinks. I knew what I'd be getting, it's what I always get at Vietnamese restaurants. It's the Garden Rolls with peanut sauce. My friend got one of their massive noodle soups. I wasn't super hungry, so the garden rolls would be enough for me. The inside was small, and clean, and not super busy. My garden rolls arrived quickly. There were two, both cut into halves. I didn't like that they were cut in half, it was pretty messy eating them. The lettuce would all come out into the sauce. And there wasn't much to hold on to. Despite that, they were very fresh. And the peanut sauce complimented them so well! My friend enjoyed her soup. We contemplated getting a bubble tea, but decided not to, because we were going for ice cream instead. Pho Viet is a nice place in town for some tasty Vietnamese dining.
My fiancé and I visited Pho Viet in Newington for dinner, which was the first Vietnamese meal we had eaten in a while. The whole menu looked great and had a bunch of authentic options. For appetizers, we were really impressed by the flavorful chicken teriyaki skewers, and the fresh garden rolls were great too. We were very happy with our pho and rice noodles with grilled beef. Every dish used really fresh ingredients, and we noticed that the prices were very reasonable too. It was nice that they had bubble tea and smoothies available to have with our meal as well! We would definitely come back for their authentic food, quick service, and bright & inviting dining space!
We ordered an hour before closing. Went to pick up the order and once we got home, we realize that the quail that we spent $13.50 on, was substituted with four wingettes and they still charged us $13.50 knowing that they were substituting the quail for wingettes. When we called there, they were "" closed. I left a message asking them to give me a call the next day and the call never came, and when I called the manager wasn't available. NEVER AGAIN
Being Thai-American, with most of my life in Los Angeles, I grew up with Southeast Asian food all of my life, so I think I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food. This restaurant is brightly colored and clean and the staff is really friendly, helpful, and accommodating, so it's very inviting. Truthfully, I think the food is okay. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I was passing by and wanted Vietnamese food, then it's serviceable. I did really like my Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk and coffee jelly though. (Around these parts, I don't see coffee jelly often -- unless you find a Taiwanese-style milk tea shop that offers such toppings as boba and jellies. Many Vietnamese places in Connecticut do seem to offer boba or bubble drinks; here, they happen to have coffee jelly, so I enjoyed that.) We ordered the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls (gỏi cuốn). When I make it myself, I like a balance of the filling; at this place, there is A LOT of filler -- a whole heck of a lotta shredded lettuce and bún (rice vermicelli) stuffing the roll. The pho broth is decent. I personally like my pho broth to have a deeper depth in taste, but this was fair. To me, when it comes to bún dishes (I ordered Bún Dac Biet, which is bún with grilled pork, grilled shrimp, and egg roll), it's all in the meat marination. The fresh veggies are what they are. A decent Vietnamese restaurant should be able to cook plain bún (rice vermicelli noodles) well, as well as mixing the classic Vietnamese dipping sauce Nuóc Chấm well; this restaurant was fine with those things. No complaints about the grilled shrimp or egg roll. I found the grilled pork okay. It was cooked fine. Although I have other Vietnamese places I prefer to this place, it's an okay place to go -- if you're passing by and in the mood.
After our hiking trip in Farmington river trail we went for some Vietnamese food in the area. We found this place 10 away from our parking lot in Farmington river. The place was quiet and clean. We ordered soups, they came out pretty fast. Our pho soups were delicious with a lots of fresh ingredients. The service was great. Definitely I will come back again to this place when I am in the area.

My family enjoyed eating lunch at Pho Viet. My son & my boyfriend enjoyed the Mango Green Tea boba. My coconut smoothie was nice as well. I also recommend Thai Tea and Passion Fruit Green Tea for alternative drink choices. The pho was amazing and it was served in huge bowls. It's a good deal for the price. I love pho this time of year. I feel like the broth brought me back to life! Yummy rice dishes are also an option. If you're open to spice, try Com Ga Xao Sa Ot (CC2). So good! The staff is so kind & friendly from the time we first walked in. We never felt rushed and we were able to relax. read more
With the cool rain washing out our normal Memorial Weekend food plans, it seemed like a good day for hot, satisfying pho. I was planning to be in Pho Viet's shopping plaza and decided to get food there rather than the places we usually visit. Takeout Pho Ga (rare steak pho) presents two options. One, you can have the restaurant mix the ingredients there and put them all in the same container. However, you risk the ingredients such as the rare steak and the noodles becoming overcooked in transit since the lid traps the steam. Or two, the restaurant can put the liquid in one container, and the rare steak, noodles and veggies in a different container (usually a Chinese takeout style white box). With this option, you have homework. You have to make sure the liquid is hot enough to cook the rare steak and thin sliced veggies and to loosen the noodles. Then you have to put the solid ingredients in a bowl and pour the hot liquid over those ingredients. With either option, you get a bag of accoutrements (Thai Basil, jalapeño, lime, bean sprouts, hoisin, sriracha) to personalize the flavor and texture. Option 2 is usually the conservative option end result-wise and that's what we did. Since we didn't eat at the restaurant and we had the responsibility of assembling the soup properly, I'm not going to judge the restaurant on whether each ingredient was properly cooked. The Pho Ga had good flavor. I most noticed the classic star anise flavor, onions, herbs like Thai basil and the hoisin and sriracha that I added. I liked Pho Viet's Pho Ga, but I prefer the flavor of my usual spots. We also ordered Cha Gio, which are thin fried spring rolls. They were good, but not great. The texture was decent. The filling was different than I'm used to, but I couldn't explain how. Pro Tip - If a Vietnamese restaurant gives you lettuce with Cha Gio, it's not just a garnish. You can tear the lettuce and use it to pick up the Cha Gio, which can be quite hot. You can then dip the lettuce and Cha Gio together and eat them. You can also use the pointy part of a chopstick to pierce holes in the Cha Gio to vent them. It was a good solid Four Star Experience and we would return if we were already on that side of town. read more

We got both of the special soups; Bun Bo Hue and the Pho Viet Sate. We also ordered the Iced Coffee with Sweetened condensed milk. I can't emphasize enough how tasty, rich and full of flavor each of the soups were, with the Bun Bo Hue being a bit more than the other. Would come here again and again for that soup. I normally don't drink coffee but Vietnamese Iced coffee is the exception because of how sweet it is. The Iced Coffee I got here, however, was very very bitter, and not very sweet at all. Each sip left an unpleasant bitter aftertaste, so wouldn't recommend, or maybe ask for more sweetened condensed milk. Not knocking points for the coffee though because the service was phenomenal and the food was incredible. Highly recommend. read more

Looking for a good lunch place in Newington I came across Pho Viet in Yelp. Many of the reviews commented about the friendly service and I definitely concur: The folks there were attentive and very nice without being obtrusive. We both ordered the vegetarian pho, both because it looked good on a cool day and because it was the only vegetarian item on the menu. We found it to be hearty, rich and delicious, with a lot of fresh vegetables, tasty noodles and good triangles of tofu. The portions were filling - we finished our bowls but left very satisfied. I only held back a star due to the limited vegetarian selection. I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant that only offered one (albeit good) vegetarian selection. read more

This new packaging is a joke you get half the product for now increased priced. broth in old container to show. How cheap can you be. Was my go to spot but now need to find another one. read more
I ordered the bo bun hue (spicy lemongrass noodle soup) and goi tom (shrimp salad). The bo bun hue was nice a flavorful with beef and pork. Not the best I had but enjoyable. The soup isn't very spicy unless you happen to scoop up some crushed red chilies in your bite. They gave a generous amount of bean sprouts, mint, jalapenos, cucumbers, and lime to garnish your bowl with. I recommend getting an extra order of noodles. The goi tom, a shrimp salad with shredded vegetables and a fish sauce dressing, was delicious and refreshing! No fishy taste to the salad or dressing at all. It's definitely a favorite that I would reorder again! read more
I took out lunch from here. Everything was nice and very flavorful. BB1 Bun Bo Hue was my favorite. It was a very flavorful soup. Packing was also nice. Soup was packed separate from other ingredients. PH8 Pho Viet Sate came a close second. It was also very good. A6 Chicken wings was crispy and flavorful as well. read more
