Not gonna lie- the rare ginger pho is amazing. I get it to go and split it with my granddaughter.

While on my road trip back from Pennsylvania I had to stop and get gas and fuel my belly too! This is a small family run place but with excellent food and service. What a cold and windy day and the air is salty and my windshield and coat shows it! Hungry, tired, and annoyed at the salty weather I walk in to a polite young man at the counter who warmly invites me in and tells me I can sit where I please...which I obliged after asking to use their restroom which was clean. I make my way to my table and the restaurant is picking up with more people checking in while there are others already present on the left side of this restaurant and few others await pickup orders. There seems to be just a small number of staff but they are very efficient and attentive. After I sat down I was expecting to be forgotten but nope! The young man walked over with a glass of water for me and took my order. There were so many great options on the menu so it was a task to decide butI did it! For a drink I choose the original milk tea with Boba pearls. For app I choose the grilled betel leaf with meat stuffed inside of it and for my main course I got the Hue's Spicy Noodle Soup. Everything from start to finish was delicious. I enjoyed my milk tea very much and finished it off after my meal. The Betel Leaf rolls are perfectly seasoned. I like mine dipped in Siracha. I ate it all! My noodle soup, OMG, the broth was amazing! Please taste it first before adding other sauces. It deserves to be acknowledged first. I'd drive 1.5 hrs back here just for this soup again. Its a must try. I highly recommend this restaurant. I can't wait to go back and bring my friends and family with me to try other things on their menu. BTW I enjoyed my meal so much I ordered their cold cut sandwiches to take home and share with my family as a treat upon my return home. Still pretty good pho, big portions and good flavors I've come to this place a few times throughout the year. It's a good pho spot for the Vernon location. The portions are plentiful, the soup is okay but there's plenty of toppings and sauces to doctor it up a bit. The spring rolls and egg rolls have a good amount of pork in them and the dipping sauces are fresh and tasty. The egg roll sauce is this rose water floral sweet, tangy dip which helps with the rich pork. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls had a little spicy zip to it which complimented the fresh veggies. Overall, it's good pho. The pho base needs to be more assertive in its flavor profile. It needs a deeper beef or chicken flavor and more seasoning. So possibly a bit more salt and vinegar to amp up the flavors of the soup a bit. If they make the soup base stronger, then it can contend with the big names of pho in ct. as it stands though, it's pretty good for the area read more

Pholy is an absolute gem! Their pho is incredible--rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked ingredients that keep me coming back. The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are always so fresh and delicious, and the peanut sauce is spot on. Gave this place another try, and to be honest the broth was so much better than the last time I've tried it for bbh. I am not a noodle person, but on the cold rainy day I was craving it. I got the special pho and the flavor of the broth was good. The flavor broth reminded me of how my mom made her pho. Again I'm not a pho place and a lot of places are hit or miss. It's not always consistent but for the price you pay they give you a decent amount of meat in your soup as well. Some places give like 4 piece of meat. I'll return when I want pho again. read more

Great food with some available dishes I haven't seen at other Vietnamese restaurants. Everything I've tried has been delicious. They do a lot of take out business and usually only have one or two servers so if it's busy service might slow down just a bit but they hustle and it's not a problem. read more

I have been to this restaurant a few times with a friend and we have never been disappointed. The tofu appetizer is a must every time. I always order the vegetarian noodle soup. It's always hot and delicious. This place gets full of people at lunchtime which is a good sign. I'd say it's a solid pho spot, flavorful broth, good meat portions (you can choose from 2 sizes for pho) and my friend that got the vegetarian pho said it was pretty good. To start with, this place is fresh and bright. They were packed tonight when I arrived @7:00PM. No problem. They had a small table in the corner that was perfect for just me. I was served iced water immediately and asked to please be patient. They came back less than 10 minutes later and asked if I had any questions. I did and they were promptly answered and I ordered. I had the fried egg rolls. They were amazing!!! I also had the Pho with beef balls. They brought out my egg rolls first as they were an appetizer. Then bean sprouts,jalapeños, sweet basil and a quarter of a lime. I put it all in my pho when it arrived and thus began one of the best meals I have had in quite a while. I come once or twice a week to get pho & now I won't be back. They are charging $5.25 PER vegetable. Their website says $5.25 extra for vegetables*. They are ripping off loyal customers & severely overcharging. Veggies cost pennies & a pho soup should never be $28 for chicken and veg. This isn't NYC or LA. A solid place for great Vietnamese food! Their summer rolls were flavorful and tender (and not overstuffed, as some others do). The pho was rich with flavor; the savory, sweet, saltiness, and touch of sour that made up the broth tells a tale of the preparation and care that went into the dish; it is wasted on a person like me who ate it too quick. Service was fast and on point. Their banh mi was also the traditional french bread: crispy yet soft on the inside. The meats were slow cooked and loaded with flavor. For lovers of Viet food, or those looking to expand their culinary experiences, you cannot go wrong in this place. Hot, spicy, comforting noodle soup really hits the spot on a rainy day. I enjoy coming to Pholy on days when I need a warm hug for my stomach. My go-to is the bun bo hue (however can't really beat the competitor's two towns over) Nevertheless, the soup came out hot and so so good. Their version comes with brisket and cha lua instead of the beef shank which i prefer. Prices were okay. We also had two smoothies, avocado and strawberry, and were $7 each for a standard ~16oz cup. Pretty pricey for the smoothie where the strawberry one is clear that it did not contain fresh strawberries. I have gone to pholy almost every week for the last two year. I have a specific order, I make the same order every time. The last time I ordered that order, they got it completely wrong. When I spoke to them about it they said something along the lines of we're so sorry, you can come and get a another order in use cause we made a mistake. Then when I call to order this order, they tell me know, their is nothing they can do. RIDICULOUS! The foods great, they just don't have any respect for the customer and can't take responsibility when they mess and order up. OMG. So good! I've always wanted to try this restaurant but hadn't until last night. I wish we hadn't waited so long because this place is a hidden gem. Located in a typical strip mall, it's easy to overlook. TBH, what led me here was the Yelp reviews! There's a lot of love given here, and for good reason, it's delish! To start, we ordered the Betel Leaf Rolls. So good. Nice bit of heat, but not overwhelming. My husband had the Special - Đặc Biệt. Lots of goodies in a flavorful broth. Oh, I want to mention that the soups ordered for takeout are a kind of "make your own". They supply you with various containers that you combine yourself, which is great. You can add more or less of any of the ingredients to suit your own taste. For my entree, I ordered Hue's Spicy Beef Noodle Soup - Bún Bò Huế. Yup, it had a bit of spice! Thankful for the make-your-own style because after tasting the side sauce, I opted not to put it all in at once. That was a good plan because that stuff was spicy. (I guess when you order "Spicy Beef Noodle Soup," you should expect spice. All in all a wonderful experience, and we will most certainly put it into our take-out rotation! read more

"Peanuts, yes you're my girl, Love you and I'll never let you go" (Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons) According to my Yelp collection, this is the 138th Asian restaurant I've written about. I've had food served with peanut sauce in a lot of them. But tonight I can look you straight in the eye and tell you the very best peanut sauce I ever had was right here, in good old Vernon, CT. That spectacular peanut sauce was served as an accompaniment to our appetizer, with the appropriately joyous name of "Happy Rolls". We were plenty happy with that $8 order of two rice paper rolls stuffed with steamed shrimp (our choice over the BBQ beef), shredded lettuce, chives, and some crunch from fried eggroll wrappers. Now as with the beef or shrimp filling, you have another choice, and unless you have a peanut allergy, be damned sure you order the peanut sauce (fish sauce is the other option). At four buckaroos a roll, this was worth every penny and then some. The rolls themselves were great -I loved the differing textures, the pretty good portion size, and that crown jewel of intense peanut sauce knocked this dish out of the park. Take a while to scan the menu before you order, because there's a lot to ponder here. We saw 8 appetizers, 8 Phos, 18 rice or vermicelli noodle bowls, 4 vegetable dishes, 6 banh mi sandwiches, 2 specials, and a slew of beverages including Vietnamese coffees, teas, fruit teas, milk teas, juices, and smoothies. My wife went for the Chicken Bun, or Vermicelli Rice Noodles. For $10.50, it was a bowl of those noodles "topped with mint, lettuce, cucumbers, pickled white radish, carrots, peanuts, and fish sauce". There was a lot of chicken in there, and it looked gorgeous and tasted great. I went to the menu specials, and because I love spicy food, my eyes locked in on Hue's Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($12.50). It was a big steaming bowl of rice noodles, thin beef slices, Vietnamese fried ham, onions, scallions, cilantro, lemongrass threads, garlic, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, and chili flakes. I noticed a red/orange sheen to the beef broth and this should have been a warning to me that there was a lot of chili oil in there too. I wasn't totally prepared for the onslaught of fiery molten lava that came with my first sip of that blazing broth. It really hit me good, and I needed a few minutes to recover from the coughing fit that resulted. But once I caught my second wind, I absolutely loved it! The broth was terrific, and all of that good stuff described above was excellent. I really liked that Vietnamese fried ham by the way. The portion was very generous, I took a good amount of it home, and I'll have the rest in a few days. Bottom line- our dinner ran $33 before tip. My advice to you as a potential customer, is to take a good look at the menu because there is a lot of content to look at. My advice to the waitstaff is to give your customers enough time to do so, and don't do what our server did and ask for our order about 45 seconds after the menus came out. Perhaps "do you have any questions about the menu" would be more appropriate. One further piece of advice if you plan to order the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The dish comes with a plate of shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, and jalapeno slices to put in your soup. Skip the jalapenos, because unless your name is Clark Kent, you really won't be needing them. read more
