We recently tried Brick Cantina in Hebron, and overall it was okay. The interior is beautiful--warm, inviting, and really well done. I especially loved the chandeliers; the whole atmosphere had a great vibe and felt like a place you'd want to hang out. Unfortunately, the service was a little lackluster. My drink came without the rim I asked for, and they gave my 5-year-old a soda instead of the pineapple juice I ordered. Small things, but they add up. As for the food, it was a bit hit or miss. My chimichanga was nice and crispy on the outside, but the inside lacked flavor--it just didn't really taste like much but dry chicken. Although I understand the clientele they serve..can be tricky. My husband said his burrito was good, but not the best. I think they could definitely turn things up a notch in the flavor department. On the bright side, the chips were excellent--super crunchy and perfectly salted--and the guacamole was delicious! All in all, not a bad experience, but there's room for improvement, especially when it comes to service and flavor.

Excellent new Mexican restaurant! We stopped in for a late dinner on Cinco de Mayo. A large party was leaving as we arrived. The staff had the tables cleaned quickly and seated us. The atmosphere was lively and fun. Eric was our server and took very good care of us. He was attentive and friendly. The menu has many items on it that we would love to try. For starters, we had the Mexican street corn. It's served on the cob which is charred to perfection without tasting burnt. My husband isn't normally a fan of street corn but he raved about this. It was delicious but be aware that it does have some heat if you are sensitive to spicy food. I ordered the pork carnitas tacos with refried beans and rice. Eric informed me that I had the option to mix & match the 3 tacos. The pork was good on its own but the addition of the accompanying sauce put the tacos over the top. The refried beans tasted homemade. My husband ordered the chicken chimichanga. It was served with refried beans, rice and a salad. The chimichanga was stuffed full of a creamy chicken filling that was absolutely delicious! I'm not sure what kind of dressing was on his salad but I could not stop eating it. It was so tasty! After reading reviews about their margaritas, we decided to give the pineapple margarita a try. It was strong! I asked for more pineapple juice to dilute it. You'll definitely get your moneys worth if you order a margarita! The staff here works hard. Tables were cleared quickly. The food was served in a timely manner. They were able to accommodate multiple large groups inside. We are looking forward to enjoying their outdoor patio on nice days in the future. Overall we had a very good experience and will be regulars at Brick Cantina.

They've only been open a few weeks. They still have a few kinks work out. But overall, what a great place to visit. The decor was on spot amazing. The little details on the wall and the color they chose was intriguing. We sat at the bar, which I absolutely love and we had great service. Andy was our bartender and had a nice conversation with him as we waited for our meals. Give them a try that's all you can do. We will definitely be going back.

Outdoor patio was very nice with tasty Margaritas. The nachos were fresh and light, a great appetizer. Our waiter was very attentive. Check this place out.

Not bad but not amazing. Typical Mexican restaurant. I know they're new but we had to ask 3 times for more water from our server which took forever. Pretty sure they gave me the wrong dish but it was still good. My dish was supposed to come with tortillas which I did not get. I asked the server for them and she told me it didn't come with them but it says it right on the menu it does. Little over priced for the taste in my opinion. Small restaurant so pretty noisy.

Great food...pricey but delicious. Service is good, pleasant staff. Atmosphere could use some more chill effect like Margaritas.

The food was amazing and the staff members were also amazing! We went opening week, so there was a long wait, but the wait was worth it.

"I love the flower girl Oh, I don't know just why…read moreShe simply caught my eye I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind. She crept into my mind." (The Cowsills) Visiting the Flour Girl Café and Bakery will put you squarely in the middle of a Flour Girl Village with four distinct components. Within the village is the Flour Girl Café at 16 Main, the Flour Girl Bakery at 14 Main, the Flour Girl Country Store at 12 Main, and the Door Yard in a rear courtyard for dining and hosting events between the bakery and country store. Today we had breakfast at the Café and followed it up with a visit to the bakery. A common thread at both stops was the wonderful personality and friendliness of the staff we interacted with. The counterperson at the Café could not have been nicer and her personality radiated throughout the room like a beam of sunshine. She welcomed every new customer as though they were long lost relatives, exchanged some pleasant small talk and then diligently repeated the orders before ringing them up. She was fantastic. The café keeps things humming all week long--open Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 4:00, Saturdays from 7:30 to 4:00, and Sundays from 7:30 to 3:00. Flour Girl Café covers you from breakfast through lunch. Mornings bring all the good stuff: coffees and lattes, smoothies, egg sandwiches, bagels, wraps, waffles, toasts--you get the idea. Swing by at lunchtime and you'll find sandwiches, paninis, salads, burgers and soups waiting for you. Oh, and as a bonus perk, the bread for sandwiches and burgers is made at the bakery next door, so freshness is something the Flour Girl takes seriously. For breakfast, we had a Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cheese Bagel ($7.99) and an Avocado Toast (2 pieces) with Feta and tomato ($9.99), Two 16-ounce drip coffees were $3.50 apiece. The portions were large, and my avocado toast on sourdough was fantastic. We sat in the first-floor dining room and took in the pretty interior design of pinks, pastels, and floral color theme. Now, on to the bakery! The Flour Girl Bakery may be best known for its sourdough breads, but the fun doesn't stop there. You'll also find muffins, cookies, scones, their award winning cinnamon rolls, and a rotating lineup of fresh baked breads. And those cinnamon rolls? They spark a full on weekend rush--people happily line up just to snag one before they disappear. We picked up a box of mixed goods, muffins, cake squares, and a big hunk of jalapeno cornbread that will go perfectly with a homemade batch of lentil chili sitting in my fridge. We saw an adorable feature at the bakery, where plastic eggs were hidden within the store for the kiddies to find and cash in for a cookie. It's the little customer service features we saw at the Flour Girl's Café, Bakery, and Country Store that made today's visit so pleasant.

We were seated at a lovely table for two overlooking Main Street - watching people stroll by from that elevated perch behind glass felt almost cinematic. The real star of the show was the food, which is ultimately what you're there for, and it delivered. The menu offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. I started with the Crispy Pig's Head as an appetizer - a bold choice that turned out to be outstanding. For my entrée, the bucatini with seacoast mushrooms, sherry, parmesan, mushroom cream, and fine herbs was perfectly cooked, and carried a subtle but deeply flavorful sauce. And the housemade sourdough with poblano honey butter? Absolutely outstanding. To be fair, our server took a little time to warm up but found their footing and gave us everything we needed. Parking in Mystic on a busy weekend night can also be a challenge and expensive. Neither is reason enough to skip this one. Ship Wright's Daughter is exactly the kind of restaurant Mystic deserves. Don't wait for a special occasion -- just go.

We were by far the youngest diners there. Curious, I asked the staff if that was typical, and they said it was. That said, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dining experience with great service, fair prices, and a pleasant setting, this restaurant is worth a visit. Also, I was told that they have live music on certain nights during the week. Not sure what kind of music it would be, my guess would be Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Lol.
