The food and drinks were delicious, but the service was very slow. It took almost an hour for our food to come out to the table. I got a house mango margarita which was very good. I got the Tijuana Combination Plate with the ground beef burrito and Chile rellenos. The burrito ended up being more like an enchilada and was not what I expected but it was delicious. The food is mediocre at best - a far cry from the original Frontera Grill in Chicago. Not fresh, not tasty. First off, I want to caution people who select this restaurant on the basis of the 'Free Birthday Meal' deal. When you click to sign up, the sign up doesn't work, so when 13 of us showed up for my Sister's birthday and told the hostess, she said "Don't worry about it", but when the over $300 check arrived, the dinner was on there. We visited on a Sunday for an early lunch and it was very quiet. All the staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The decor is nice and offers a casual setting. You are served complimentary chips and salsa as soon as you're seated which were great! Service was extremely fast. It must have been under ten minutes from when we placed our order to receiving our meals. We couldn't believe it. Everyone enjoyed their meals and see all agreed it would be worth coming back again. This slowly has become one of my go to mexican restaurants. I eat here all the time with the family. The drinks are good and they are not stingy with the alcohol content. The taco dishes are all really good and their tacos are huge. Love, the fact that I never have to wait as it's not extremely over the top busy ever and its a huge restaurant. The only thing I wish was better are the fajitas. fajitas are usually my go to but Im not a fan of the large pieces of meat just sliced up, I prefer when its little pieces of diced up meat. Stopped in for lunch today and found the restaurant pretty busy. Only two serving staff on hand. One taking drink/food orders and the other making guacamole at the tables, running food, and providing chips and salsa to all guests. Considering the number of patrons they did a pretty good job of keeping u. Ordered our usuals, beef quesadillas and steak fajita chimichanga, Diet Coke and two margaritas. The coke came pretty quickly but it took awhile for the margaritas to show up but we think the drink/food server was also working the bar. Drinks were a little on the strong side but we're still good. Food again took awhile to arrive but when it did it looked delicious. Beef quesadilla was filled with plenty of ground beef and cheese. Beef was well seasoned. Sour cream and guacamole on the side. The chimichanga was a good size with plenty of strips of beef and plenty of onions. Just a couple of pieces of pepper were present but that was fine as peppers aren't really necessary for me. The plate came with rice, beans, salad and sour cream. The dish seemed different from the last time. Think there were fewer beans and a smaller salad but that didn't detract from the dish at all. Beef was well seasoned and the shell was well fried and had a little crunch to it. It was also covered in a light cheese sauce. As always a basket, or two, of chips were placed on the table with a small carafe of salsa and two bowls for the salsa. Salsa is always fresh with plenty of tomatoes, onions and cilantro. Overall a good meal given how busy the restaurant and servers were. Definitely will be trips back to keep enjoying their great food. read more

This was my first time eating at Frontera Grill, and it definitely will not be the last! The chips are homemade, and the guacamole is made tableside to order (and it's a large portion). I like that they add chopped mango to the guacamole, and you can customize the other ingredients according to what you like or don't want included. Our waiter was very attentive and excellent. I had the Frontera Veggie Bowl as my main course. It was a very large portion of roasted veggies, served over Spanish rice, roasted red peppers, black beans, roasted corn, roasted broccoli and cauliflower florets, queso fresco, shredded lettuce, pico de Gallo, sour cream, and avocado slices. It tasted even better than it sounds. My good friend had the same Frontera Bowl, but she had steak in hers. My other friend had the famous special tacos and said they were excellent. I like mine a bit spicier but for those that do not, this would have e been perfect. I ordered the Fajita taxanas (chicken, steak and shrimp) on corn tortillas. My hubby ordered a chimichanga. The food was amazing. It came out sizzling(literally) and was just honestly full of flavor. It was the best guacamole I've ever had, along with the freshly sautéed bed of peppers and onions beneath the meat. The tortillas were super soft. They were a little small for my taste but honestly it's because my eyes are too big for my mouth. My husbands chimichanga was amazing. He also said it's the best around. We love to travel to different restaurants around the state and this, this is by far the best I've been to in such a long time. Visited this Mexican restaurant in Manchester,, the place is huge and has a pure Mexican vibes inside. Food came out pretty quick and well presented. The table side guacamole is not really made table side. They brought it from inside, it was delicious though. Every item was delicious and up to high standards. I found the carne asada to be very delicious and well made the flank steak tasted so good. The tortilla that came with the carne asada was too dry so couldn't eat it, it would be nice if they made it fresh and served. We were sat in the bar for over 10 minutes before any server even acknowledged us, and then were only acknowledged after he brought the group of guys that came in after us drinks and an app and then said he'd be right with us as he headed to do something else in the kitchen for those same people. Quite a few minutes later we still hadn't seen him, hadn't even been asked for drinks sitting there watching the guys who came quite a few minutes after us get their drinks ordered, an app, and have everything served, so we left. So I went through mainly the one to two star reviews and other people have actually puked after eating the same stuff my son has ate or just at that restaurant in general.... because I was wondering if people experience the same thing that my son and I did.... Took the kid out to eat on a Saturday night on a busy shopping weekend and the place wasn't even 50% at capacity... Kinda made me think. But the place had four and a half Stars so we decided to try it. Chips and salsa are free...the chips were over salted, cold and not house made.. the salsa was disgusting you could tell that it wasn't like freshly made either which if you're athentic Mexican restaurant you should be at least making your salsa nice and fresh. My son ordered a virgin pina colada and the world's best tacos. He didn't have his second taco and he ended up vomiting everything up.. the wait staff ended up cleaning up the mess because he literally just vomited on the table. The guy insisted that it was a virgin pina colada because they typed it in and then the manager was like well did you eat too much is that why you puked and then the manager looked at me and he was like well what do you want us to do about it.. it's like if you don't just take that off our bill without us asking that would have been great which they only comped his food and not the Virgin pina colada... I ended up ordering a small bowl of chicken tortilla soup. -luke warm not much spice taste... Kinda bland for mexican. Also for my main dish Carne Asada. Which was a steak rice and beans with some salsa and guacamole.. I have to say it was very tough. Kinda over cooked. And i ended up getting a belly ache. Didnt puke but maybe I should have to make my self feel better. I ended up having a large skinny margarita which I barely even tasted any of the alcohol in which would been tequila. I feel for the price this place was overpriced and it wasn't that best of food I've had way better Mexican food at other joints. I am one of those cilantro fans or I can't get enough of it and there was none on any of the food.. I will give one star since the wait staff was super friendly and had to clean up my son's puke. This place was great!!! I am used to going here for the previous restaurant of plaza Azteca, but this place was much better. First of all, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was so attentive and made sure our waters were always filled. The food was also really good! It was nice to have free chips and salsa with what seemed like homemade salsa. I am picky with steak but this steak was tender and had a really good flavor. From the time we ordered to when we got the food was the fastest I've ever seen, it felt like 5 minutes. Along the same lines as most of the Mexican restaurants, Frontera also offers fresh guacamole made at the table. The service is very quick and nice. Drinks- The drinks are perfect and on the stronger side if you order the Coconut margarita or the Dos Patrones de plata. Loved it! Food - Philly steak from the appetizers are delicious and served on a bed of lettuce and with a side of creamy sauce. The Marco Polo taco is the shrimp wrapped in bacon and topped with deliciousness is highly recommended and also the southwest salad was delicious. Very nice we were greeted promptly by our server. Our drinks arrived quickly. House margarita was awesome. I had the deluxe burrito with chicken. It was at the right temperature. Very generous proportions as one can see from the pho. I could only eat 1/3 and had to take the rest home. My husband the taco salad. He said that it was good and it came with guacamole and sour cream. The portion is more than he can eat. We will be enjoying the left overs tomorrow night. I am careful to be very honest with my reviews and don't often give out five stars anymore... this was definitely a superb experience without any constructive criticism or room for improvement! I had been here once before many years ago, but am pretty sure it was "Plaza Azteca" back then and likely completely different. Arrived at 8:30pm-ish on a Saturday night, no reservation, no problem. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was exceptionally polite and attentive the entire evening. The salsa is super fresh and served in a bottle that you then pour into your own individual salsa dish. I love this! Not that I mind sharing! They gave us plenty of chips and salsa, we never ran out or had to ask for more. I'm recently sober and inquired about the non-alcoholic beverage offerings. Dude, this is the first time I've had a variety of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from while dining out, a bunch of fresh margaritas that could be made frozen or on the rocks without booze!! Being Latina, I had a hankering for guava and I felt like I had won a prize when there was a virgin guava margarita on the rocks with my choice of salt or sugar on the rim. This was legit the best margarita I have ever had!! I regret that we weren't hungry enough to order much more than a dessert. My date went with the fried ice cream. I asked for a coffee but there wasn't any made; our server offered to make a fresh pot for us but I told him that was okay, not to worry. Chips and salsa for two, a bangarang virgin guava margarita, a ginger ale and frozen ice cream came out to under $20! The other tables that ordered food all seemed really pleased with their entrees, so I will definitely be back with a bigger appetite! Wanted to go out for some basic Mexican food and decided on Frontera Grill, which replaced Plaza Azteca (sad). We were seated and presented with complimentary chips and salsa and served our drinks pretty promptly. The salsa was a poor excuse for salsa.. there were clearly visible herbs in it but lacked flavor and pretty much tasted like watered down tomatoes. We placed our orders and food came out fairly quick. I had the enchiladas while my boyfriend feasted on some steak fajitas. Not sure if this is the new standard but prices were kinda steep for what it was. Nevertheless, food was tasty. There was just one guy serving the whole floor so we waited at least twenty minutes after finishing out meals to get the check, and then another ten to get our card back. If you are craving Mexican food and a good margarita, Frontera Grill will not let you down. Let's start with the food, specifically the guacamole station. We had the option of adding mango to our guacamole as it was made right in front of us on a portable station. This is something that I had never tasted before, but it was so delicious that I know I will always want mango in my guac ! We were able to taste it, as it was being made, and our waitress allowed us to customize the guacamole with more cilantro and lime. Our entrees were delicious. I would absolutely recommend either the enchiladas borrachas or the carne asada burrito. All of the wait staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Not to worry, they were awesome at remembering to bring endless amounts of chips and salsa. I had the devil margarita, which was a margarita with red wine. I also tried the spicy hibiscus margarita, both of them were delicious. After we sat, the menus then tap water (Disgusting chlorine-flavored town water) delivered quickly with complimentary chips (fresh) and yummy salsa. I had a Steak Fajita that was very good and my wife had Enchiladas that lacked the traditional toppings, and the black beans had no flavor.
