Chicken noodle soup and a Brown butter rice krispie treat.

Give your taste buds a yummy treat and get some chicken noodle soup. The soup is so full of chicken and noodles and taste so good !!! Great service with a smile and flavorful soup. I can't wait to try some of the other soups they have to offer.

If you haven't tried The Soup Girl yet, you're missing out! They offer such a wide and unique variety of soups each day, both hot and refrigerated. The staff is always so helpful in helping you decide what soup to try. Today I opted for their lasagna soup, and all I can say is wow! It is such a loaded soup and is everything you need and more! Regardless of the season, you can never go wrong with stopping in. They even offer chilled soups in the summertime like watermelon gazpacho, which I can say is very tasty as well. It's such a cute spot, definitely check them out if you're in the area!

Soup girl is a staple on Whitney. One of the best stops for a quick and healthy meal they have multiple delicious vegan options as well! I didn't notice hot soups, but they had a full fridge of soup ready for pick up. They double as scoop girl and has a selection of ice cream pints. They have some delicious baked goods and I always end up grabbing a couple! Definitely a stop worth making!

I got a bowl hot lasagna soup with bread for lunch, and it was delicious. I also picked up another soup from the refrigerator case for tomorrow, and some tres leches bread pudding for desert. They have four or five hot soups which change daily, plus a variety of soups in the refrigerator case. The interior is very small, there is no seating, so if you don't want to take your soup home, plan to eat it in your car like I didn't

It is challenging these days to find a good soup. Many places use way too much salt and hardly have any real flavor, let alone chunks of fresh vegetables in their soups. There is one magnificent place you won't be disappointed visiting on 1242 Whitney Avenue in Hamden. This location is dedicated to just making fabulous, extraordinary SOUPS! They have a variety of four imposing hot soups every day and for those of you who are gluten-free, Vegan or vegetarian, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the variety offered. The soups are hot from 11 to 2 but they also have lots of choices in the fridge if you can't make it during those hours. Today we enjoyed two different soups. As you can see from the photos they were full of pasta, beans, fresh vegetables and barley. You can taste the TLC in every spoonful. Great place on a cold day!

I'm not sure if it's my taste buds but the coconut rice pudding tasted like it's spoiled. Our office had purchased this and I already received a call from a coworker that theirs tasted spoiled as well. I am not a fan of the broccoli cheddar soup, either. I tried it but it reminded me of the consistency of baby food, so I wasn't really a fan. I wish I had a better review but, sadly, I do not. Hoping they do better. The spoiled rice pudding is enough to turn me off from returning as obviously it was sold beyond the date or it was made with spoiled ingredients.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

At the time, I found the ramen competent and the interior pristine, spacious, and modern. Returning for a second visit, I'm happy to report they have withstood the test of time, maintaining high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. To provide context: when Roishi first opened, it felt like ramen shops were everywhere. Fast-forward a few years, fewer shops remain, and unfortunately, many of those survivors just don't stand out to me. The mid-range sushi scene has proven equally unimpressive. Aside from high-end establishments like Hachiroku Handroll Bar, or the outstanding Gohan in Southington, most mid-range joints disappoint with mediocre quality and a lack of creativity. Many may start off strong in quality, like Niu Sushi in East Haven or Sayori in Orange, but eventually their standards slip over time. In the current food scene in Connecticut, finding a restaurant that excels at both ramen and sushi is a rarity. While I enjoy the Spicy Miso at Akatsuki in Hamden, their sushi remains lackluster. Conversely, from what I recall when they initially opened, the sushi at Takumi in Branford impressed me, but their ramen has disappointed. This is where Roishi shines. Perhaps my previous disappointments at other establishments have made me quick to judge, or maybe I simply caught Roishi on an exceptionally good day. Regardless, our last experience at Roishi has won me over, and it has officially become (for now) my go-to for a satisfying bowl of ramen paired with fresh, creative sushi rolls. It is clear the sushi chefs put effort into curating their menu and making their rolls look visually appealing. Our server was pleasant, professional and attentive without being overbearing. While the menu would benefit from rotating specials featuring higher grade ingredients, the restaurant's ability to maintain standards and consistency is a rarity, and is the primary reason I will continue to return as long as they continue to do so!

We tried to get in yesterday but it was super crowded and we didn't want to wait amongst a lot of people (too much sickness going around). However, I wish we had gone, because our breakfast wasn't anywhere as good as today. I started with a Carmel latte which was really good. I had the croissant French toast which was utterly amazing! I have to say that I am NOT a breakfast person. I'm not a fan of eggs, but I will eat them and I hate to start the day with a sugar bomb! However, the croissant French toast was a true delight. It came topped with fresh, not frozen sugary stuff, beautiful juicy strawberries, a nice light whipped cream, and a not so sugary chocolate sauce on the side. It did have a lot of whipped cream so I loved that to the side. It was served with syrup but I didn't use any. The flavor of the croissant with the strawberries was enough for me. I barely dipped it in the chocolate. It was delectable! I've also had their Irish Benny on another trip which was amazing and the pumpkin pancakes. There is NO other breakfast place where I cannot make a decision because there are so many delicious items to choose from. And, I know that anything I choose is going to be utterly amazing. Their portions are big and their prices are very fair for what your get. I felt like I had a whole pint of strawberries on my croissant. My husband had the meat lovers omelet with oatmeal. He said everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. This is a typical breakfast place. It's not fancy but friendly and clean. And everyone seems happy! The kind of place I like. You have to get here early or you'll have a wait. I say the wait is well worth it. We went at 8:30 on a holiday and were able to be seated immediately. That's the first time that's happened though. I want to try their lunch, but their breakfast is so amazing, I would probably order breakfast for lunch which is something I NEVER do! If we had this place near us (we're from Philly), it would be the death of me! I'd be going all the time.

Nice little sit down restaurant with a decent amount of seating, friendly staff and excellent food. What I'm happy about is the fact that their portion sizes are bigger than the last time I was here. This place has always made impressive food, but dishes were small and prices were high. This place is still more expensive than their only competition in town, that being Thai Spice, but at least you get more food for your dollar now. Thai Spice still has better value and is very good in its own right, but Bangkok Blvd has the crown for flavor. My tofu pad Thai with no egg was very impressive. Tofu, noodles and vegetables were all fresh and high quality. Sauce was delicious and I liked the texture of the noodles in particular. Just enough onions and scallions to enhance the flavor without overpowering. My pad see eaw with no egg has nice thick, chewy noodles and a savory sauce. I didn't care for the leafy veggies because they were bitter, so I ate them first before enjoying everything else. Still loved it though. It's up to you; Thai Spice is a nice little hole in the wall takeout spot that has lower prices and very good food, but Bangkok is on another level with their flavor if you're willing to pay a little more.
