Medium bowl and Large bowl
Robb T.

Wifey had an appointment so the kids and I went for an adventure and ended up at Teriyaki Madness. We saw this chain restaurant during our California trip, and found out that one had opened here in Manchester. It's a fast casual restaurant - seats feel like you're at Taco Bell, or even the mall. You walk up and order at the counter, pick your rice (white, fried, noodles), veggies, and your protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, and I think they have orange chicken according to the sign), pay, then wait. 5 minutes or so and they brought out the food to us. The food was good and plentiful - the kids each got the medium with no veggies, while I got the large with veggies. I'll be honest and say that I prefer the teriyaki sauce at a nearby establishment. If you're in the area and feel like a teriyaki bowl (and don't feel like making the trek to the mall food court), this is the place to go.

The service was quick & easy, I asked for recommendations and was satisfied with what I ordered. Wish the chicken was less grilled other than that it was good. I wish you could do half noodles /half rice because i really didn't need all that rice. The inside was nice, its worth a visit they have many options to choose from! 2nd review -- spicy chicken was nicely seasoned and had some heat to it. So if you like spicy you should try this! The tofu was tender and satisfying and I will be reordering this!

The third best bowl place in this area Girlfriend remembered this chain back in Florida and really enjoyed it. So with one coming into our neck of the woods it was a sure-fire try. We ordered online and it took about an hour for them to prep our meal. Eventually made my way and had to wait another 15 minutes to get food. Got the crab rangoons, a chicken teriyaki bowl, a spicy beef bowl, an edamame, white rice, and a cookie. They forgot to give us the side of white rice, which was a shame. The chicken teriyaki was overcooked and the veggies were undercooked. The spicy beef was tender and had a lot of five spice so it was very spicy. The noodles in her bowl were cooked well and her veggies were also cooked. The crab Rangoons had no crab, but they were savory which I appreciate. The cookie had pretzel balls in it, which was not as tasty as one would think. A crispy cookie with very hard crunchy bits just led to crunch on crunch. That type of cookie should just be salted, they would be good enough. This place is trying, and they did some things right. They need to work on their prep, but they can be a great lunch option. Right now though, chipotle and the local poke place all do better quality dishes. Might want to wait for the hype to die down before trying for yourself

I have been seeing this location for a while when going to Starbucks, but I was curious to try it out because I am very loyal to the teriyaki spot in the mall lol Let's just say this is an upgrade! The service was great, the staff was very helpful when trying to make my selection. Overall, the shop was cute and clean. Now the chicken was phenomenal and the fried rice was so fresh. They also do a vegetable mix with zucchini, which was super different compared to most teriyaki places where you just get broccoli and carrots. The second time I tried it I got the chicken breast and I will say that was a better choice than the chicken thigh, just because I am a white meat lover, so it made all the difference in flavor. I would totally recommend this place. They also do a meal prep option where you can buy it already separated in containers for a bundle deal which is amazing!

Save yourself some money, drive a minute to the mall, get better food with better portions for less money. The portion is appalling.

I had the Teriyaki Salmon: Overcooked, dry, and overpriced for the tiny piece I received. I will avoid this place in the future.

So happy we decided to try it! The restaurant had great lighting and cute decor. We decided to sit at the bar which was empty. I ordered a mocktail called Ginger Dawn, which was a lemon, ginger and honey drink. It was so yummy and perfectly balanced. My friend ordered a Whiskey Sour off the late night happy hour menu and he said it was good. As for food, it was so tasty and just got better with every bite. I ordered the okoyadon rice bowl which was chicken, egg and scallions over rice. It was so delicious. It was very hot when it first came out but once it cooled down a little bit, the flavor was amazing. My friend got yakiudon noodles with beef and the flavor was great. We ordered the spring rolls off the happy hour menu. I've had better spring rolls elsewhere, but it was nice to have on the happy hour menu. For dessert, we ordered the lychee sherbet and the sweet potato cheesecake. I loved the lychee sherbet...powerful flavor and I couldn't stop eating it. The sweet potato cheesecake had good flavor if you really like sweet potato, but I thought it was a little dry. I would absolutely come back and try other dishes and drinks. Also the bartender, Sarah, was so lovely, made us feel welcomed and I loved her vibe.

I've never been a mushroom girl until I've had their mushroom skewers. I can never help myself and order 5 or 6. When it comes to drinks, I love their entire menu. I typically go with the no need for uber: a mocktail that's the perfect shout of sweetness. I really appreciate all the love and artistry that goes into every aspect of this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

We stopped in around 3PM, no one else in the place at the time. We spent $75, no alcohol (+$20 tip). Appetizers, included salads, miso soup, chicken tempura and softshell crab. Main courses were seafood tempura and cashew chicken. Nothing seemed to be extraordinarily bad or good. I did notice a fly buzzing around, something that could be concerning, especially inside a sushi restaurant. I didn't give it much thought, I just remember noticing it. Later that day and night, we both began experiencing gastrointestinal issues, requiring many trips to the bathroom, it lasted thru to the next day. If it had only been just one of us, I probably wouldn't have given it much thought or would be leaving this review,. However, since we both had problems, I feel I should put it out there in case anyone else reading this had issues (or worse) from that day (Thursday, 10/30/25). We did not get sick to our stomachs, just 14-16 hours of staying close to the bathroom. I have always enjoyed everything at Higashi and never had a complaint, I say they were all 5-star experiences. After this, I won't risk coming back- I have no doubt we were served something that caused our intestinal distress. Service was great, place appeared clean and why I gave 2 stars. But it bothers me to see any flies inside an eatery, especially since the season and weather was not conducive for fly breeding, flies had to originate from inside the restaurant, they did not wander in from outside.... I've seen too many 'Bar Rescues' to know not all kitchens are kept clean and/or food stored safely. If one sees a fly or flies, it may be in one's best interest to walk out. This rule can be applied to any restaurant, especially ones that not open to the outside and/or during a season that is well past fly-breeding conditions. I learned the hard way and will make this a rule of thumb from now on.

I'm back! The restaurant is located at 415 Hartford Tpke, Vernon, CT. It's been about four months…read moresince I was here. This is a family run, laid back place. The music is Classical Japanese. For our first drink. We are having a French Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice. This taste great! They don't use garnishes here and I don't really care. It's well balanced! For our first item, we're having the House Salad. This is made with iceberg lettuce snd a little tomato. This ginger dressing is the best! I love this stuff! For out next item, we ate having an "Oki salad." A traditional Samurai Salad is a Japanese-inspired dish featuring grilled firm tofu, mixed greens, and a pungent ginger dressing. Key ingredients include firm tofu, soy sauce, white wine vinegar, grated fresh ginger, sesame seeds, green onions, and tomato slices. It is often garnished with toasted sesame seeds and served with a soy-ginger vinaigrette. Well, whatever it is! It's quite good! Wow! For our next item, we are having the miso soup. Miso soup is a traditional Japanese staple, combining savory, umami-rich miso paste with a dashi (fish or kelp) broth, typically featuring tofu, seaweed (wakame), and green onions. It is simple to make in under 20 minutes, offering a nutritious, comforting side dish known for aiding digestion, high protein, and mineral content. This is nice and hot! Huge bowl too! For our next item, we are having edamame. Edamame is an East Asian dish prepared with immature soybeans in their pods, which are boiled or steamed, and may be served with salt or other condiments. It is consumed in many world regions. Edamame is a common side dish in Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine and as an appetizer to alcoholic beverages, such as beer or shōchū. As an ingredient, edamame is used in both sweet and savory dishes, such as takikomi gohan, tempura, and zunda-mochi. These are steaming hot! Nice and salty too! Well, put comes the complementary Tuna Tataki. This thinly sliced seared tuna with ponzu sauce. This is fantastic! Wow! For our next item, we are having the Blackened Salmon which is sliced with ponzu sauce. This is spicy! Add soy sauce! This is great! For our next drink, we are having a Melon ball made with Midori vodka and orange juice. This is well balanced! No garnish as normal here! It tastes great! For our next item, we are having Ikura. Red caviar, also known as salmon roe or ikura caviar, is a popular seafood delicacy that comes from salmon and trout roe. It's known for its bright orange color, medium-sized eggs, and thin shells. Red caviar is a staple of Russian cuisine, often eaten during holidays like New Year's. It's high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, and is considered a good source of nutrition. Different types of salmon roe have unique tastes, colors, textures, and sizes. A "taste of the ocean." What's better than that! For our next item, I'm having the Spicy Eel and Shrimp Hand Roll. A hand roll (temaki) is a cone-shaped sushi item featuring seasoned sushi rice, fillings (sashimi-grade fish, seafood, vegetables), and a crisp, toasted nori sheet wrapper. Assembled by hand and eaten immediately by hand (without chopsticks), it offers a customizable, crunchy, and easier-to-make alternative to traditional maki sushi. These are good! Sushi snow cones! For our last drink, we are having the Caribbean Joy. This is made with Bacardi rum, pineapple and lemon juice. This is good! It's the rum version of the last drink! It's quite good! For our entree, we are having the Volcano Roll made with peppery salmon, gently fried, spicy tuna and red/hot sauce. Look at the presentation! OMG! For dessert, I have no idea what's coming out! Oh yeah! This is the bomb! OMG! The surprise of the night! Tempura ice cream! What better than this!!!!
