The food was fresh and well cooked. Some thing we're lacking spices, like crayfish. Some things were over salted like french fries. But overall everything was cooked to perfection. The temperature of the food was cooler than I prefer, I like my food warm to hot. The workers were all quite nice and attentive to refills of drinks and plates We were traveling that day and wanted to try a local Chinese restaurant. All three of us were able to eat enough to be full but a few of the chicken entrees tasted almost the same. The rice none of us ate. The Hibatchi was the best part for me. This one was intriguing, hibachi and sushi along with your standard buffet items? Why not give it a shot. Lots of people think you got to sit and eat at a buffet. In most cases, you can get a to-go container and pay by the pound. It might not be as cost-effective as eating in, but it is quicker and you get a plate or two of all the little things you want to try to bring home. The place since I have known it has been very busy. there's always a line of hungry patrons waiting to get a seat and start eating. The decor inside is fairly pretty, lots of care taken to make it look very clean and exuberant. The food, it's pretty much what I expect from a buffet. Lots of pre-made foods on hotplates. The sushi area was unmanned, which I later learned was because the sushi chef they hired quit due to the massive amounts of pressure. The hibachi had a single guy manning the helm with a swarm of people waiting to give them their plates. The dining room was packed, and there was a ton of people in the waiting pavilion waiting to be seated. Some other key points: They charge extra per pound if you have any seafood in your to-go container. They have a last call at 9 pm. Meaning that if you get there after 9 they will not let you dine-in. Parking is a little bit weird, but PC richards typically has spaces if you need them. They also have a 60 minute dining window. So you get an hour to eat, then you got to go. if you go in expecting chinese buffet, it meets that need. it's cheap, it's plentiful, and it's okay. With the sushi and hibachi fully manned, this might be a nice place to try later. right now, it works for what it is. read more

They are finally open. They were advertising that they were open months before they really opened. I took out lunch from there. I was the only one taking out from here at that time, everyone else were dining in. From seafood section, I took 3 shrimp items and all were good. One which tasted like honey shrimp was the best. Chicken on my stick was my favorite item here. Spring roll wasn't as good as I expected.From dessert section, I tried sesame ball and crab rangoon (looks like). Both were good. I didn't like the hibachi that much. I went for beef hibachi, and beef wasn't as good, nor were the other ingredients. Icecream was in individual cups rather than scooping from a large tub. I went in at the opening time. Item names were all jumbled up. That is a huge issue if you have dietery restrictions. They have some rules which seems more restrictive than similar buffet places - like 2 hour table limit, no drink sharing even if it is non refillable, you pay for what you waste, $8 for anyone with 2 feet (babies reach 2 feet before 1 year). read more

You might have to trust me a bit when it comes to buffets. I've visited buffets over the years and all but one are amazing or good. If you've visited the Hibachi Grill Buffet when it was opened in West Hartford pre-pandemic, then you might like it here. It was Friday night...busy, crowded, parking full, a lot of customers dining in, what a typical start of the weekend. That's what you might expect through those nights. I get it! But the point of that buffet is that you might find a decent assortment of everything from Chinese food to American style food to sushi and seafood. There's no selection of Ice Cream unlike its previous life in West Hartford. The atmospheric decor is soundly amazing. The food is good. Decent selection of drinks. Prices are average especially when seated with multiple people as a group. Nice employees. Bathrooms are alright but needs more sanitization. A little long period of waiting time before being seated but that's okay. Just to let you know that that building right near Buckland mall used to be HomeTown Buffet before it closed in late 2010s but and you can still see the old labelscar on one side of the building from its days as HomeTown Buffet. I like this place. We as a family ate a lot of good food last night. I was very thrilled to see the buffet come back to Manchester although the one in Vernon (I live in this town) at Ocean State Job Lot plaza didn't look open and the food was disgusting so I am relieved that this was one close by but not the closest buffet from where I live. read more

I was extremely disappointed for many reasons. First being they don't offer chicken fingers or coconut chicken which are the only two items I usually get. I got some pork fried rice. It was hard, dried up & clumped together like very old. They even had water boiling underneath it in an attempt to moisten it. The restaurant itself was so cold we had to keep our coats on & the bathroom was 100 times worse. I tried the shrimp with stuffing but that too was hard & dry so I went to get some melted butter. I asked 3 workers yet not one of them understood what I was asking for. They ended up not having any. When I returned to my seat, my plate was gone. Everything I tried was inedible, dry, had no flavor, so truly disappointing. The shrimp were so soggy, they too were inedible & just absolutely disgusting. Every container was marked incorrectly referring to cocktail sauce. There were three that looked like it but one was supposedly ketchup yet you didn't know which one. The ranch salad dressing too there were three that all looked like it could have been it but you had no idea due to the labels being wrong. I asked the employees as it was very frustrating, and sadly, they too weren't sure what was what. I want to say you def pay for what you get. I came here twice and I won't be coming back. I rather just order take out Chinese food. I felt like the food bar was always messy and that turned me off. If presentation doesn't look appealing I lose my appetite. Yes you have a variety of food, sushi, and habachi. I think if they focus on the quality of food better instead of trying to have a big menu it would be better. It sucks we don't have good Chinese places or buffets locally. About a month to two months ago, my Brother treated my mom and I to lunch here and had an amazing time. Yesterday my brother took my mom, sister and I out for dinner since my sister is only in town for the next few days and to celebrate me finding gainful employment. Like last time, the restaurant was buzzing with life and activity and is extremely popular with locals, especially on a Friday night when no one wants to cook! Anyways, the food was once again, phenomenal. However, there is a huge difference in what they offer at the buffet during lunch service and dinner service. The main difference between lunch and dinner is that there are more shellfish offered during dinner mainly clams, mussels, crawfish and head-on shrimp. During dinner service, they also offer American style barbecue which includes barbecued ribs, pulled pork and pulled beef, which I did not try this trip. This trip, I tried the crawfish and head on shrimp, both of which were boiled in some sort of Cajun seasoning that had a nice bite and kick to it and were absolutely delicious. I also tried the General Tso's Chicken which was both sweet and spicy and delicious. I also had my usual of potstickers, black pepper chicken, and ate my weight in sushi. Speaking of sushi, I probably ate my weight in sushi. It was very filling and the dinner portion is actually much larger than the lunch portion and they also have different types of rolls for the dinner service as well. Overall, my sister enjoyed her first experience and looks forward to coming back the next time she visits and I will definitely be back for dinner service. It just is NOT like it used to be when it was in west Hartford. A customer complained that there wasn't a lot of food out and she told him if you don't want to eat here you can leave what. They told us 20 minute wait and it was. The food was not good. I had a piece of "spicy tuna" sushi and I spit it out, it tasted like it was a million years old. The pizza sauce was ketchup the rice was hard not fully cooked. Only thing that was good was the crab Rangoon and chicken fingers. The inside is pretty. I'm not sure what to write as I'm confused where I just was...was it Chinese buffet or American buffet with Chinese thrown in. Started with the hot and sour soup, more like vegetable broth with mushrooms (tons of them) , tofu and some other things. Not hot and sour at all. Added fried noodles for some crunch which I got but the noodles tasted stale. Move on to appetizers, well tried to, not much in the way of what I expected. Pretty much tasteless. Had the fried cheese wonton, spring roll, teriyaki chicken (not really teriyaki), and a couple of other things. Only thing that had a little flavor was the egg roll. Okay on to entrees such as they weee. Had General Tsos, no heat to it, stuffed shrimp.,predominantly bread, broccoli beef, not bad, a shrimp dish with no name on to and the only thing that was spiced at all. Even the container marked hot oil wasn't, think it was soy sauce with green onion. Didn't bother to even look at the dessert bar. Plenty of American dishes if that's what you're looking for. They They did have the hibachi station manned and the sushi bar was full. But if you want good Chinese I wouldn't recommend this place. If you want a combo meal of everything you could imagine then this place is for you. Price was reasonable, staff are nice although speaking to them can be challenging. Love this place. I'm here quite often. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Even if they're super busy they don't leave you hanging. There's lots of tables even if they are busy you can usually get seated. Everything is clean and organized. I love the food. Buffet is great but the hibachi grill is where I go. You can customize your dish and then watch them prepare it on the grill right in front of you! Lots of options even if you don't like hibachi. I have now gotten my entire family and a bunch of friends hooked on this place. Would highly recommend! read more

If it wasn't food on the plates, it was grease like they haven't been cleaned. The food had zero flavor also fresh rice that came out as i was grabbing some was not fully cooked. my fiancé ended up getting very sick in less than 12 hours from eating here. Went shopping in the area, and remembered it was a Hometown Buffet there, but it was a victim to Covid. Nothing special here, just a typical Chinese/Asian fare. Sushi rolls looked a little on the small side, more like something that belongs on a kids menu. Nothing special for variety of rolls, seen better assortment at other buffets. Wife had the hibachi. Items were fresh. She said they did a good job cooking it. Very good variety overall with the rest of food choices, but half the items are hit or miss. Like I said before, nothing special or outstanding. Service was very good. Food area was always in a clean state. Seems more relaxed of an atmosphere then when it was a Hometown, which sometimes resembles a pig out free for all when some fresh items where brought out. Drinks were dropped and never refilled (free refills are included). So steamed or warmed. onion and carrots I chose were not cut up, still remained in large chunk. Dirty dishes were removed promptly. Sauces are all located at the salad bar, no sauce dishes. large spoons are at the ice cream. No soup spoons near soup. Great variety. Poorly executed.
