Fast. Friendly. Cheap. Delicious. Knew Jumbo Buffet would have a couple lunch orders ready for pickup quick as we hangrily cruised down Cottage Grove having had a lunch mishap. Quick call and a quick stop in a somewhat empty parking lot and lunch was secured. Zipped home to devour our feast of boneless bbq pork, fried rice, chicken fingers and a couple egg rolls with haste. Which were all really yummy. It hit the spot! Dependable. I forgot that in my opening statements. But that's really what elevates Jumbo Buffet in my opinion. You know exactly what you're going to get! That food was an incredible surprise. That food was fantastic, fresh and quick. The sashimi was tasty, looked great and fresh. The mango chicken dish was abundant with chicken and mango. The sause was incredibly tasty but did not overwhelm the rest of the dish. The sake was nice and chilled and the suggestion was great. I had the Shirakawago Sasanigori. Was not too dry and not too sweet. I have not had too many sake but that is my favorite. I had 2 bottles. Finished the dinner with amazing green tea tempura ice cream. Absolutely fantastic. It has its good and bad. It's not the best in the area but it's close by. A couple times, they forgot to include the rice. They always include plenty of condiments and several fortune cookies with every order. They've always been fairly quick with a Doordash order. I don't recommend the Sweet and Sour dishes. They're always overcooked which makes them tasteless and difficult to eat. The best things I've ordered are the fried Chicken dumplings and the Broccoli with Chicken. read more

Never had a service response so utterly horrible in my entire existence. So its a late night and after putting our 2 year old year old to sleep we decide to order 2 egg rolls, some chicken fingers to snack on tomorrow friend dumplings and the General Tso's Chicken wings, which were the only things really worth going back to this place for in the first place. We usually try to order online as much as possible to limit the amount of human error by placing an order through the phone. Unfortunately this only works if the people on the other end actually read your order cause what we received was the dumplings the chicken fingers, no egg rolls and spare ribs with white rice. Okay two tired but reasonable adults call back looking for a solution and instead of being greeted by helpful customer service we encounter a lady who is not only rude and hangs up on us multiple times as we try to find something that works for both parties but also interrupts us as we try to speak to her, (to the point where I resort to asking her if she can hear me) calls my overly sweet husband drunk, threatens to call the cops and offers to give us 5$ then 10$ for the 11.15$ mistake. Of course when a situation escalates to the levels of nasty that this establishment provided we are less inclined to take any food they offer as compensation so we declined any offer to receive any future discounts or to come and get anything they were going to try to "cook" for us. So as of now we are out 11.00 and hopefully I can speak to someone tomorrow who is willing to rectify the situation. Honestly I just want my money back. read more

I have been going here for years and I am never disappointed with the food. I only get takeout so I am not sure how their buffet is. The one item that is a must for every one of my orders is the rangoon. I have had my fair share from other places, and this is hands down the best. This place is always great!!! All of the usual suspects are here- wonton soup, hot & sour soup, eggrolls (small and veggie only), lo mein, fried rice, chicken w broccoli, pork and broccoli, meatballs (I bet there's a lot of ground up veggies in there), boneless pork, generals chicken, honey chicken, hot wings, fried chicken on a stick, a gnarly egg foo young (get a pool skimmer for that gravy). and a whole table full of desserts. It's been there for me through my divorce. (Honestly, she probably left me because of my love for this restaurant.) Recently, thanks to the whole Covid-19 fiasco they've cut back on hours, and my heart is broken! I'm sure they want to keep their workers safe and all the jazz. But undoubtedly, there has been some *CoughracismCough*going around thanks to this damn virus... probably causing some reduction in hours... Anyway... Those people can be Damned! Jumbo Buffet I miss you! Jumbo's cheap vegan food is the best way to go. Their vegan food is literally a diamond in the rough. Given the price to deliciousness ratio Jumbo Buffet will easily beat out any other Chinese food restaurant. Ain't nobody cares about a Black Bamboo. Check out the new specials and you too can find why I'm so passionate about Jumbo Buffet. My personal favorites are the vegan chicken nuggets and vegan chicken broccoli... When I called back the next day, the manager told me "I don't believe you" and that this was impossible so I must be lying. Unfortunately, I'm not lying and Jumbo Buffet just lost a customer. In addition they also have buffalo wings in the buffet to spice things up a bit. The food is very good, when considering the over value. Came here with a friend for the Lunch buffet. The place is pretty small, but decently kept. For $7 you can't beat it! There were quite a few options to choose from and they were all pretty good. There wasn't anything knock your socks off delicious, and the food didn't seem the freshest, but for $7 I can't complain! read more
