"There's talk on the street, it sounds so familiar Great expectations, everybody's watching you Johnny-come-lately, the new kid in town Everybody loves you, so don't let them down" (The Eagles) The restaurant business is a tough one and it's hard to keep up with the constant closings and openings. There's always a new kid in town, right? Ikoi has been around for a month or so. They took over the space previously occupied by Chosen 1 Cajun Seafood, who was around for just three years. Ikoi's menu is very deep, with a lot of sushi plus Poke Bowls, Hibachi combos, Wok fried entrees, noodle and rice dishes, Noodle soups, Southeast Asian dishes, and lunch specials. We stopped by yesterday and ordered our lunches to go - two appetizers and two lunch combos. The apps were an order of two crispy spring rolls ($4.50) and an order of chicken Satay ($9.25 for 4 skewers). The spring rolls weren't much more than shredded cabbage and carrots, but they were only $4.50. The Satay skewers were packed with big chunks of deep-fried meat and were a big value for the price. Just a word of advice, if you traditionally think of Satay as broiled chicken served with peanut sauce, their Satay is different. The lunch specials are offered every day except Sundays. Their sushi specials run $12.95 for two rolls, $15.95 for three rolls, and $13-$18 for Chirashi, and more extensive sushi and sashimi lunches, And if sushi isn't your thing for lunch, no worries because they also have a BIG selection of Southeast Asian lunches. They are all in the $9-$10 range, except three scallop dishes for $10.95. The Southeast Asian lunches include white or fried rice and a choice of three soups. Our two $9.25 lunch specials were Chicken with Broccoli Brown Sauce, fried rice and Won Ton soup, and a Chicken with Szechuan Peppercorn Sauce, fried rice and H&S soup. I asked for the Szechuan Chicken to be "extra spicy". We were both very pleased to unexpectedly see the soups were full sized portions because some Asian lunch combinations that include soup give you a teeny tiny container of 4 ounces or so. Other H&S soups are sometimes thin, bland and watery. Not here! My H&S wasn't thin at all, had a lot of flavor, and was loaded with tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. My wife's wonton soup had some huge wontons, but the broth flavor could have been stronger. The lunch special entrees were fantastic, plain fantastic. My Szechuan Peppercorn Chicken had a big amount of large chicken slices, I mean seriously there was a lot of chicken in there, with zucchini, red bell pepper, baby corns, water chestnuts, red onion, peas, carrots, snow pea pods, and celery. The sauce was especially zippy and certainly fit for something I ordered as "extra spicy". There were big hunks of chili peppers in there, and I coughed a few times from that fantastic heat. My wife's Chicken with Broccoli had a similar large amount of chicken slices in her container. So just on the quality and quantity of the lunch specials, Ikoi is clearly five stars in my mind. Customer service was excellent too. The two young ladies who waited on us, took our order, and brought us our "to go" bag were very friendly and as sweet as can be. What a nice contrast to some establishments where their counterparts have their faces buried in their phones and don't interact (let alone acknowledge) you at all.

Egg roll with duck and soy sauce on it

4.5 stars in my opinion so far! I'll start off by saying the general tso chicken is my favorite in this area of the state! It's crispy and it has a great flavor. Comes with white rice and broccoli. I added on a side of noodles for the chicken but the plain udon noodles were just okay, I'll stick with the rice next time. The egg roll is delicious. It's everything you want in an egg roll, crispy, good flavor and not oily! The crab Rangoons are not bad, really they are always as good as the sauce is and in this case the sauce for them is okay but they're great with duck sauce. I loved that this place has great choices, acceptable prices and the food wasn't oily or too salty. Seemed like the chef actually cares about the quality. I'll be back to try the sushi and other dishes!

Soft shel Soft Shell Crab, and Sushi Dinnersushi

Ordered take out from here, it's new to Bloomfield, CT. I figured I'd give it a try, there are a couple of Japanese/Chinese spots. But none are as good and clean as this one in the area. Food: We ordered a plethora of items, Hibachi Chicken, soft shell crab, general Tsos, crab rangoons, and sushi. The hibachi presentation in the delivery was beautiful. The taste was divine, the chicken was well seasoned, moist, juicy, the rice well cooked. The same can be said for the general tsos (white meat), I got a container full of just chicken, it was delicious and soft, the sauce was the perfect viscosity. The soft shell crab was as soft shell crab should be- the sushi was also flavorful, and well presented. Price: Other reviews claimed this place was expensive, and quite frankly the prices are fair- especially with the quantity of food you're getting. Japanese food isn't cheap, but these prices definitely are not on the expensive side considering. Delivery: We called it in, the woman on the phone was pleasant as was our delivery driver. They were very prompt. I highly recommend this place, and I hope more people find out about it.

This is my first Yelp review, so that should at least tell you that I thought this place was worth talking about.... Asian fusion... with an extensive assortment of sushi, Chinese, and Thai dishes. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Servers were pleasant and accommodating. Nothing too special about the ambiance, but it's clean and we're really there for the food. One of our new "go-to" spots, for sure!

Wabi Sabi was a surprising find! My friend and I were looking for food on a Thursday night after…read more9PM. Most places were closing, but saw that Wabi Sabi was open until midnight. So happy we decided to try it! The restaurant had great lighting and cute decor. We decided to sit at the bar which was empty. I ordered a mocktail called Ginger Dawn, which was a lemon, ginger and honey drink. It was so yummy and perfectly balanced. My friend ordered a Whiskey Sour off the late night happy hour menu and he said it was good. As for food, it was so tasty and just got better with every bite. I ordered the okoyadon rice bowl which was chicken, egg and scallions over rice. It was so delicious. It was very hot when it first came out but once it cooled down a little bit, the flavor was amazing. My friend got yakiudon noodles with beef and the flavor was great. We ordered the spring rolls off the happy hour menu. I've had better spring rolls elsewhere, but it was nice to have on the happy hour menu. For dessert, we ordered the lychee sherbet and the sweet potato cheesecake. I loved the lychee sherbet...powerful flavor and I couldn't stop eating it. The sweet potato cheesecake had good flavor if you really like sweet potato, but I thought it was a little dry. I would absolutely come back and try other dishes and drinks. Also the bartender, Sarah, was so lovely, made us feel welcomed and I loved her vibe.

I've never been a mushroom girl until I've had their mushroom skewers. I can never help myself and order 5 or 6. When it comes to drinks, I love their entire menu. I typically go with the no need for uber: a mocktail that's the perfect shout of sweetness. I really appreciate all the love and artistry that goes into every aspect of this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
