S3. Deluxe Sushi for 2 - 22 pieces of sushi and 2 roll
Divya R.

It is a small sushi place in a strip mall. The food was fresh and good but considering the prices and reviews, I expected a fancier & bigger place. It was alright. Not crowded. More of deliveries & pickups were happening and I could relate on a tiny place to eat but the food was good. Appetizers were good - tempura and edamame. Salmon teriyaki was pretty good with good salad and miso soup. Healthy & filling. Deluxe Sushi for 2 came with 22 pieces of sushi and 2 roll. Large quantity for $46.

Small basic Japanese spot with a menu of both sushi and Japanese classics I came for lunch and got one of their lunch specials, which included a miso soup, salad, white rice, fried potato, and teriyaki chicken. It was all fine, but nothing special Have a small bar where you can sit where they make the sushi in front of you

Can't beat their lunch specials! Fresh and assortment of creative rolls other places just don't have! Huge fan of their sushi pizza!

I haven't been here in probably a decade. This is a very popular Japanese restaurant in Manchester. It's been here for years. It is located at 248 Broad St. and is closed on Sunday and Monday. It's small with only 6 tables and a 3-seat sushi bar. For my first item, I'm trying their miso soup . Per WP: "Miso soup (味噌汁 or お味噌汁, misoshiru or omisoshiru, お-/o- being an 'honorific prefix') is a traditional Japanese soup consisting of a dashi stock into which softened miso paste is mixed. In addition, there are many optional ingredients (various vegetables, tofu, abura-age, etc.) that may be added depending on regional and seasonal recipes, and personal preference. In Japanese food culture, miso soup is a representative of soup dishes served with rice. Miso soup is also called omiotsuke (御味御付)." It's a decent sized bowl that's served piping hot . It's pretty tasty too! Wow ! Very tasty! To stay in the spirit, I'm having a Kirin Ichiban beer . KIRIN ICHIBAN is brewed from only malt, hops and water. Unlike other beers, only the first press of the wort is used. That´s why it´s called ICHIBAN - meaning "first" and "best" in Japanese. It is served in an ice cold mug. That's a nice touch! This is damn good beer too. For my next item, I'm having their "Green Salad ." Typically, it is served with a ginger dressing. Let's see what comes out. The dressing is light but very good . It looks like it mainly iceberg lettuce , a big cucumber chunk and whatever the julienned purple stuff is. For my appetizer, I'm trying the "Blackened Tuna " which is served with a spicy mayonnaise (light for me - which I forgot to ask). Next up, I'm having the Yakitori. These are broiled chicken and vegetables on skewers. These look good and taste even better! Wow ! These are good . For my entree, I'm having the "Three Sister Roll" made with mango , spicy crab inside and is topped with salmon and lemon . This looks great and tastes even better! This is a great place!

The place is cozy, and the staff are friendly. Prices are fair. Good idea to book ahead on weekends. Definitely a top spot for sushi in Manchester. If you're a sushi lover in Manchester, Hana Sushi is a must-visit. I've dined here several times and it's consistently delightful. The menu offers a wide variety of sushi and sashimi options, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Baby Octopus

Unasuming from the outside, appetizers - tuna Pizza, baby Octopus and seared tuna were all delicious and the scallop sashimi was a tender bite that melts in your mouth. Lovely vibrant atmosphere with attentive staff and a power house female sushi chef! A great way to celebrate my birthday. Don't pass this place up, it's a hidden jem of a place.

Sakura roll (weekly special), scallop sashimi, and side of home style potato ball.

Even their takeout is as beautiful as it is fresh and delicious. I went in at noon today, ordered at the counter, and was bagged and ready to go with amazing food in just nine minutes!

Crab pizza

Relaxing environment, friendly staff and amazing food. Plenty of parking. Would recommend 5/5

I was skeptical at first when I went here. It is a small little restaurant. However, the staff is amazing and so sweet. I received amazing customer service. I ordered the speciality Tuna Roll. It was amazing! The food was fresh! My date ordered a roll that had mango on top. I like how they had two different Soy Sauces to choose from, low sodium and regular. I would definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

Yaki udon with shrimp
Sho R.

I took out dinner from here. Each entree came with a miso soup and salad, which was nice. Curry chicken katsu and yaki udon shrimp noodles were both nice. Food came in good quantity.

We stopped in around 3PM, no one else in the place at the time. We spent $75, no alcohol (+$20 tip). Appetizers, included salads, miso soup, chicken tempura and softshell crab. Main courses were seafood tempura and cashew chicken. Nothing seemed to be extraordinarily bad or good. I did notice a fly buzzing around, something that could be concerning, especially inside a sushi restaurant. I didn't give it much thought, I just remember noticing it. Later that day and night, we both began experiencing gastrointestinal issues, requiring many trips to the bathroom, it lasted thru to the next day. If it had only been just one of us, I probably wouldn't have given it much thought or would be leaving this review,. However, since we both had problems, I feel I should put it out there in case anyone else reading this had issues (or worse) from that day (Thursday, 10/30/25). We did not get sick to our stomachs, just 14-16 hours of staying close to the bathroom. I have always enjoyed everything at Higashi and never had a complaint, I say they were all 5-star experiences. After this, I won't risk coming back- I have no doubt we were served something that caused our intestinal distress. Service was great, place appeared clean and why I gave 2 stars. But it bothers me to see any flies inside an eatery, especially since the season and weather was not conducive for fly breeding, flies had to originate from inside the restaurant, they did not wander in from outside.... I've seen too many 'Bar Rescues' to know not all kitchens are kept clean and/or food stored safely. If one sees a fly or flies, it may be in one's best interest to walk out. This rule can be applied to any restaurant, especially ones that not open to the outside and/or during a season that is well past fly-breeding conditions. I learned the hard way and will make this a rule of thumb from now on.

They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.

I'm back! The restaurant is located at 415 Hartford Tpke, Vernon, CT. It's been about four months…read moresince I was here. This is a family run, laid back place. The music is Classical Japanese. For our first drink. We are having a French Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice. This taste great! They don't use garnishes here and I don't really care. It's well balanced! For our first item, we're having the House Salad. This is made with iceberg lettuce snd a little tomato. This ginger dressing is the best! I love this stuff! For out next item, we ate having an "Oki salad." A traditional Samurai Salad is a Japanese-inspired dish featuring grilled firm tofu, mixed greens, and a pungent ginger dressing. Key ingredients include firm tofu, soy sauce, white wine vinegar, grated fresh ginger, sesame seeds, green onions, and tomato slices. It is often garnished with toasted sesame seeds and served with a soy-ginger vinaigrette. Well, whatever it is! It's quite good! Wow! For our next item, we are having the miso soup. Miso soup is a traditional Japanese staple, combining savory, umami-rich miso paste with a dashi (fish or kelp) broth, typically featuring tofu, seaweed (wakame), and green onions. It is simple to make in under 20 minutes, offering a nutritious, comforting side dish known for aiding digestion, high protein, and mineral content. This is nice and hot! Huge bowl too! For our next item, we are having edamame. Edamame is an East Asian dish prepared with immature soybeans in their pods, which are boiled or steamed, and may be served with salt or other condiments. It is consumed in many world regions. Edamame is a common side dish in Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine and as an appetizer to alcoholic beverages, such as beer or shōchū. As an ingredient, edamame is used in both sweet and savory dishes, such as takikomi gohan, tempura, and zunda-mochi. These are steaming hot! Nice and salty too! Well, put comes the complementary Tuna Tataki. This thinly sliced seared tuna with ponzu sauce. This is fantastic! Wow! For our next item, we are having the Blackened Salmon which is sliced with ponzu sauce. This is spicy! Add soy sauce! This is great! For our next drink, we are having a Melon ball made with Midori vodka and orange juice. This is well balanced! No garnish as normal here! It tastes great! For our next item, we are having Ikura. Red caviar, also known as salmon roe or ikura caviar, is a popular seafood delicacy that comes from salmon and trout roe. It's known for its bright orange color, medium-sized eggs, and thin shells. Red caviar is a staple of Russian cuisine, often eaten during holidays like New Year's. It's high in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, and is considered a good source of nutrition. Different types of salmon roe have unique tastes, colors, textures, and sizes. A "taste of the ocean." What's better than that! For our next item, I'm having the Spicy Eel and Shrimp Hand Roll. A hand roll (temaki) is a cone-shaped sushi item featuring seasoned sushi rice, fillings (sashimi-grade fish, seafood, vegetables), and a crisp, toasted nori sheet wrapper. Assembled by hand and eaten immediately by hand (without chopsticks), it offers a customizable, crunchy, and easier-to-make alternative to traditional maki sushi. These are good! Sushi snow cones! For our last drink, we are having the Caribbean Joy. This is made with Bacardi rum, pineapple and lemon juice. This is good! It's the rum version of the last drink! It's quite good! For our entree, we are having the Volcano Roll made with peppery salmon, gently fried, spicy tuna and red/hot sauce. Look at the presentation! OMG! For dessert, I have no idea what's coming out! Oh yeah! This is the bomb! OMG! The surprise of the night! Tempura ice cream! What better than this!!!!
