Some Notable Dons Don Cornelius, the founder of "Soul Train". Let's call him the Soulful Don. Don Zimmer, the legendary baseball figure who appeared in uniform across 8 decades. Let's call him the Longevity Don. Don Henley, the co-founder/co-lead vocalist/drummer for the Eagles. Let's call him the Musical Don. Don Corleone, the Patriarch of Mario Puzo's crime family. Let's call him the Persuasive Don. Which brings me to a very good Poke Shop on Manchester's Deming Street. Let's call them the Poke Don, because that's their name. Poke Don is fairly new and just had their Grand Opening on Saturday Feb 13, 2021. By now, most everyone is familiar with the Poke Protocol - choose one of their Signature Bowls, or or embrace your inner creativity and design your own. Just pick your base, protein, mix-ins, sauce, toppings and crunch. I designed my own with lettuce as a base, salmon and shrimp, onions, cucumber, corn, Hijaki and Ogo Seaweed, Shojang and Chili Garlic Sauces, Seaweed Salad, Scallions, Spicy Crab, and Tempura flakes. The Don's two protein bowls run $12.75, so they are comparable, if not a teense higher than the other Poke Palaces I've visited. I gave my Bowl high marks -the seafood was super fresh and tasty, all of the ingredients were very good, the two sauces added a nice Zing Factor, and the Tempura flakes added some nice crunchy texture. Service was very good as well, The masked young lady behind the counter patiently walked us through the ordering line. Nice job, Poke Don !

Stopped in for dinner with my aunt after she had been here a few times and suggested it for a bite to eat. A new addition to the busy plaza that has Panera Bread, T Mobile and a few other stores. With a packed parking lot parking a little away and walking is always suggested. The layout is open and fresh; without tables due to the current Covid Climate. Order ahead or there is very straight forward paying per amount of protein that you want, either two or three scopes. You could pretty much get three different types of proteins but I opted for two scoops of tuna and one of salmon. What sets this place apart is the choices of toppings and additions. One of the noticeable ones was two different types of seaweed which was cool to see. Didn't really taste them distinctly as the proteins were mixed up with toppings and sauces but the bowl was jammed packed with so many things that each bite had some much flavor. My aunt got a poke salad instead of a rice based bowl which I opt to get next time. You can fit toppings like oranges, mangos, greens and even Himalayan salt. I'll be returning with my sister one day to see what other combinations with the sauces I could make. Time to adventure out from the miso dressing that I got before. For now they do have a social media offer for freshly fried sesame balls that were nice and warm as we ate them on our way to Ellict Brewery!

"Fast food poke bowls? Pinch me, I'm dreaming..." ...is what I'd like to say, but I'm willing to give Poke Don another try before I give a final verdict. I have to rate it based on my experience now, in which case it's not a good look. I've been meaning to try this place for awhile, so I was stoked when I drove by around lunch time. I was going solo for lunch today, so I only tasted the one item, the Hawaiian signature bowl. I've only ever ordered poke bowls in places like BJ's Brewhouse or Maggie McFly's - that is, only one kind of poke bowl, no options - so I got the first thing on the menu, which is normally the most popular item. Sadly, I was disappointed. Don't know if the worker was heavy-handed by accident with the "sweet" onion, but boy howdy that was the primary flavor. This onion may have been of the sweet variety, but it certainly wasn't acting like it (I did notice a lot of pieces from the core of the onion). The texture of the tuna was good, the sauce was great, the rice was a good portion, but again, when you have a powerful fighter like onion, the balance was way off. Full disclosure, I like onion, so this isn't an anti-onion spiel. I'll be back another time, probably go for the create your own bowls - and definitely skipping the onions that time around.

Good food, great quality. i love the custom bowls. so many options! My bowl was ready on time. My only qualm is that they don't update the online order tracker. I only have a certain amount of time for lunch so it would have been nice to get it earlier if it was ready

I stopped by to have a light meal. Fried Gyoza dumpling has a vegetarian flavor that was not mentioned in the menu. I went for that and it was nice and crisply. The sweet and spicy bowl was nice and fresh. Quantities are small.

I previously had PokeDon in Gladtonbury during my time at Whole Foods. Honestly, the Manchester location is just as good as the Glastonbury location. No complaints here.

I ordered takeout from here on a Friday night to try this new spot in the area. The food was ready right on time for pickup and the folks inside were friendly. It was exciting to see a build your own option and we opted to get two poke salads. You get to choose a good amount of toppings, sauces and proteins and they all are fresh tasting. The flavors seem to go together well too no matter what you choose. I'd say it's a little expensive for the size you get, but tasty. I'd recommend a stop in!

I love love this place! It's a deconstructed sushi in a bowl that's the best way I can describe it. When I first came in I was overwhelmed with the possibilities of toppings. You can get one of their creations or make your own. I decided to make my own and chose the 3 protein option. They have a 2 protein option as well. You can get brown or white rice. This is a great place to go to if you're in the mood for sushi and have a big appetite and you get your monies worth. Don't get me wrong I still love sushi, but when you're hungry especially after a workout you need something filling and not a hefty price tag. I ordered their fried food options for my mom and this was her review: I enjoyed the texture and the crunch of the Gyoza Dumplings. The flavor of the Shumai Dumplings were delish!! (Wish there had been more.) The Coconut Shrimp were tasty, but had a slight oily flavor. Now the biggest trouble I face is that this place is also near chipotle. But who said you can't have both?!?

There's more than enough parking all around and next door to a couple other eateries that caters to every group and every palette! I absolutely love having an establishment all to ourselves. More than that, I would love an establishment to be busy so that I can enjoy their offerings for years to come! Their menu is consistent with all other locations and ingredients are all fresh and delicious! The service staff are amazing and very welcoming! They engaged with us and truly made us feel at home. Couldn't have ask for anything else! You can have a choice of a poké bowl, poké burrito or a poké salad. The bowls come in either regular or large. The price is dictated by the amount of proteins and an up charge if any toppings you include are avocado, black caviar and/or masago. You pretty much can request for extra of anything too. I say, add everything! I went with a regular sized bowl with shrimp and salmon. I asked for cucumbers, cilantro, mango, and edamame and had it all sauced up with chili garlic oil and shoyu. I loved that I was asked if I wanted the sauce light, medium or heavy. Go for heavy! Especially if you got a large bowl. I ended up asking for extra sauce later on which was much obliged. It was topped with seaweed, avocado, and pickled ginger plus crispy onions, furikake and garlic chips. I live by the camera gotta eat first and I lasted only a couple of snaps before the aroma was calling to me. I also got a Thai Boba with coffee jelly while my daughter had Taro Boba with original boba and lychee jelly. She paired it with a Poké Burrito with Chicken, onion, scallions, cucumber, corn and sauced up with teriyaki sauce. She also added crispy onions, tempura flakes and toasted rice puffs. Her burrito was breaking up on her so she had to use a fork eventually. Either it was over stuffed or there wasn't enough time to let the nori stick. Everything tasted excellent!! Trust and believe I took home another bowl, this time I ordered off of menu on signature bowls with no changes since I've had it somewhere else before. I will be back! That's for certain! Thank you so much for an excellent service!!

As someone who is gluten-free, I would love to see more gluten-free sauce options that are not spicy. That would make the experience even better for me. With whole foods no longer doing sushi made to order, that leaves only main gugh, sakura garden, and tisumi sushi as driving distance sushi places. Not anymore, poke don is now in the area and they are pretty good! The setup is similar to their manchester location. you got a sparse dining area and a cafeteria style long desk to do your ordering. you pay for your bowl, and the person follows you along to help you design and make your bowl. The panels behind the station tell you what you can add at that station, and the server will follow you along the entire way, adding whatever you want to your bowl. By the end, you got a rice bowl with all the flavors you could want and then some. I usually opt for salmon and tuna, with sushi rice, edamame, onions, crispy onions, crispy garlic, a scoop of kani salad, a scoop of spicy crab, and a drizzle of eel sauce over everything. I sometimes mix up the veggies or the sauces, but that's my base. The rice is cooked well, sometimes they don't season the rice well enough, but it still comes out okay. the portions are fairly big, especially if you ask for extra veggies. the spicy sauces have a little zing to them, but not really hot. The price is actually pretty good too. for the price of a specialty sushi roll, you get a big bowl of sushi with all the same flavors. It's not amazing quality, they do stumble on their flavors sometimes. but it's pretty good for pretty cheap, and sometimes you just want a lot of something that's pretty good.

These are nice! Extra soy sauce and a rice stick topping. For my next drink, I'm having the Grand Patron Margarita made with Patron Silver, fresh orange and lime slices and topped with a mini bottle of Grand Marnier. Grand Marnier is a premium French orange liqueur made from a blend of Cognac brandy, distilled essence of bitter orange, and sugar, created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. It has a rich, complex flavor profile with notes of orange, vanilla, and hazelnut, and is typically 40% ABV (80 proof). It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, in cocktails like the Sidecar, or used in desserts like Crêpes Suzette. They use a thinner salt for the rim. Still hard to taste the alcohol (because of the size of the glass), but as I drink it, the Grand Marnier kicks in! These more like it! Look at this! They use a large ice cube to slow the dilution process! It's nicely garnished and well-balanced. This tastes great! Good job! For dessert, I'm having one of their World Famous Pizookies - Strawberry Shortcake. This is a buttery sugar cookie, fresh strawberries, rich vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream. This is heaven on a plate! Wow! What a great meal here!

We had to give the monster ice cream one we had to give it a try. It was just ok with the blue ice cream. It was gooey with a chocolate chunk cookie, stacked with Rich Vanilla Bean ice cream(blue), Oreo® crumbles and a side of hard-shell chocolate sauce poured on top. Glad we did get to try it before it's gone but our favorite still is the salted caramel pizookie. The service was alittle slow arriving with our order for a Tuesday evening.

We grabbed a drink and food first. I went for the danger water, which was tropical and great, and the barbacoa quesadilla which was crispy and full of meat. Our waitress was nice! There were a handful of games that glitched mid play and there's nothing you can really do about it. The games that worked were fun!

I also got the frozen lime rita. Very tasty. ** **edit for the 4 stars I previously went to a different Dave & Buster's about a month ago where our server was very slow and refused to give good customer service. We ended up calling corporate where they told us Sunday nights would now be the new half price game day. So we went in on a Sunday and the board only specified Sunday sip Night, not the half price gaming that somebody over the phone told us. The miscommunication and lack of knowledge of this leads me to believe there is discrepancies in training. I asked the server if this was the new game night. She said yes. I also asked a manager and they said that the game nights changed the Sunday. All of the games were still full price on Sunday night at 9:15. We talked to somebody that was in charge of the games and they said the server was possibly not switched over because this was something new. The three different staff members that I talked to all looked at me like I had no idea what I was saying.
