Caprese Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs

We had reservations for a group of 12 on a Saturday morning. The place was pretty empty, so the waitress was quite attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks, thought it was a bit expensive.

So good!! The drinks, the apps, the entrees, the service-- we really enjoyed it all! I had Jon's Famous Banana Cream Pie martini which was a an espresso martini with banana liqueur. If you like bananas, this was amazing!

Good food but place is showing its age Came here for a lunch, saw they were doing a prix fixed (they called it a price fixed) menu so I decided to try that out. The bartender was the only one serving the entire bar area, so he was rapidly jumping from tables and bar patrons. Didn't get as much attention being solo, but that's fine. The place was clean, but there was lots of signs of wear. Dirty glass panes, dust and debris on seats and light fixtures. the back of the padding on most of the chairs was disintegrating. The tabletops were worn and scraped. This normally doesn't bother me, but this place is trying to be a upscale dining experience. Lies of areas were clean and polished, but a lot wasn't as well. The food took a while to come out. The soup was very basic, really needed salt. The 3 shavings of parmesean really did help, but that was only 3 bites. The lasagna was buried in a cap of melted cheese. For some that's ideal, but in this instance it just cheapened the dish. Really did like the meat sauce, almost no ricotta, and the pasta sheets were aldente. The cookie was a cookie. Did appreciate the Mascarpone next to it. Very nice creamy bite to go with a mealy but chocolate laden cookie. Milk did cost extra though Overall, a disappointment but not so much so that it made me sour. It was okay food in a use-to-be fancy food place. I hope they get a chance to remodel and rebrand, cause they got a awesome view and good staff. They just need better food

Best happy hour around. Where else can four people get four appetizers and each have a cocktail for $60? The food is tasty. We shared veggie stuffed mushrooms, chicken teriyaki, hummus and sweet potato fries. The best part is they have a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy. Unlike many happy hours that restrict you to the bar we were able to sit and take in the the fresh air. Happy hour all day Sundays!

Chicken Piccata--huge serving of chicken! Tasty pasta

I've been here multiple times for happy hour and enjoy most of the food we order, I've also been once for brunch, but last night I was there for dinner for the first time and it was delicious! THE FOOD: Happy hour--usually really great food but some items are hit or miss. For instance, the boneless chicken wings are akin to frozen chicken tenders they heat up and barely coat in sauce. Brunch--it is simply amazing. Honestly one of the best brunches I've had in the area. I got eggs Benedict and it was to die for. I'm a (self proclaimed) runny yolk aficionado and let me tell you they were cooked perfectly. We did the option to "complete the experience" and got boozy drinks and dessert. The drinks were good quality and the dessert knocked my socks off! I was expecting it to be meh but the cookie one was yum yum yummy! Dinner--I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. 3 out of our party of 4 opted for the three course meal option (currently $30). They all loved their salads, their main course was good (though one asked for very light bacon and it had too much bacon and was too salty for their liking), and one of the desserts was a lovely portion. The other dessert option though was honestly pitiful. The strawberry shortcake was served in the smallest mason jar I've ever seen! It was smaller than the candle in the center of the table. They really should think about parties where multiple people get the 3 course meal, because it felt like such a rip off for two people to get these giant slices of lemon cake and the other person get a dessert fit for a Pomeranian. For my meal I got the chicken piccata without two of the ingredients. I was happy to see that they accurately cooked it to my request. It was an interesting take on chicken piccata, much creamier than traditional ones I've had, but boy oh boy was it tasty! And the massive piece of chicken (cut in two) was delicious and filling. Again, it wasn't as flat as typical chicken piccata and wasn't the traditional breading that makes a piccata, but it was good. THE LOCATION: Normally I would think "eww mall parking lot?" but Market Grille does a lovely job prettying up their outdoor space. The outdoor bar is really cool with the fire place and in the winter we like how it's closed in. The view from this area is also really nice (other parts of the outdoor seating somewhat look at Dave & buster's but whatever). I've also sat in the indoor bar area which is nice, too. For our most recent trip: Family was visiting and we decided to eat indoors due to the heat. We were put in a cozy side room with booth/chair seating. Family was impressed by the ambiance! THE SERVICE: When dining at the outdoor bar for happy hour the service isn't always the best. They are polite but not always attentive. I've waited a while for someone to come out and give us menus, take our order, or check on us for refills. Our latest trip inside was great service! I believe her name was Courtney. She was very polite, attentive, and made sure to check on things if she didn't know the answer to our questions. Overall, I would recommend Market Grille and plan to continue going back. I would like to get their weekend brunch more frequently for sure!

Friday night, had to wait 15 mins for a drink at the bar tables. Then get the bill and it's 17.50 for an old-fashioned. Not impressed.

I'm back. I come here once a month for the coconut soup. This is my first time dining here in…read moreyears. It was BYOB back then. They have nice decor, classic Thai music and nice decor. This restaurant was bought 5/6 years ago by the Chinese restaurant across the street. Their building was demolished. For my first drink, I'm having a Singha. Singha is Thailand's original premium lager, first brewed in 1933, known for its rich taste with strong hop character, and is often paired with spicy food. Its logo features the mythical golden lion (Singha) and the Garuda, a symbol of royal approval, making it a distinctive Thai brand with significant international sponsorships in sports like Formula 1 and football. The name also refers to numerous Thai restaurants worldwide that serve its cuisine. They have only beer and wine here. The cold beer glass matches the brand of the beer! This is good. It's cold and easy to drink. For my salad, I'm having the SomTum. Som Tum Thai (Green Papaya Salad) is a beloved Thai salad characterized by a vibrant mix of shredded green papaya, chilies, garlic, cherry tomatoes, long beans, roasted peanuts, and dried shrimp. The dish is defined by its bold, refreshing balance of spicy, savory, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors, often dressed with fish sauce, lime juice, and palm sugar. This is good! It's a big portion. I love the fresh iceberg lettuce cups. For my soup, I'm having tom Yum. Tom yum is a popular Thai hot and sour soup, known for its aromatic broth flavored with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and chilies, balanced with lime juice, fish sauce, and sugar. The most common version, Tom Yum Goong, features shrimp, but it can also be made with chicken, pork, or seafood. It comes in a clear broth (nam sai) or a creamy version (nam khon), which adds evaporated milk or chili paste. This is hot and yummy! Lots of chicken! The tomatoes retain a lot of heat! For my my entree, I'm having the Massaman Curry with chicken. Massaman curry is a rich, mild, and flavorful Thai curry with Persian and Indian influences, known for its complex, aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves, and its creamy texture from coconut milk, peanuts, and potatoes. It's less spicy than other Thai curries and balances sweet, salty, and sour tastes, often made with chicken, beef, or duck, and served with rice. They add peanuts too! I'm going to Christen a bottle of Melinda's Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper sauce. The pepper is supposedly 1M Scoville units. Yeah. That's hot. The sauce is not that hot. It's maybe 50K Scoville units. The Massaman Curry is real good! It's hot and delicious. What a great meal here!

I've only had take out from this place so I'll only be speaking on my take out experience…read more We have ordered here twice. Both times we enjoyed our food. I'm a vegetarian so I'm always on the lookout for good vegetarian food. We tried the Thai spring rolls, Drunken noodles (which might be made with oyster sauce so be aware if you are vegetarian) with tofu and sesame bean curd. By far our favorite was the sesame tofu (bean curd). It was crispy and light, slightly sweet and spicy and overall tasty. I've tried several other places in the area and this is my fav so far. The veggie spring rolls were also very tasty, but small. Still great tho, I don't love huge portions, but I did wish I had more of these (shared these and my roommate loved them). When I went to pick up inside the place looked clean, although when I went to the counter the couple and their (i assume) daughter did not seem very interested in getting up to help me. The daughter did eventually and she was very kind. Overall I did enjoy my take out experience here and will order here again sometime.

I'm finally back here. The restaurant is Vietnamese and is located at 252 Broad St. in Manchester,…read moreCT. It's been quite some time. This is possibly the largest pho (Vietnamese) restaurant in the state (next to Pho Boston). The decor is real nice too. The menu is huge. There are a lot of options including classic Vietnamese non-soup dishes (one of which I am getting). Unique items include salmon spring rolls and salmon noodle soup. There is no music. That should be on while they're open. The owner, Pete, immediately serves me a huge glass of ice water with a lime. It's warm outside so it's very refreshing. For my drink, I'm having a Nuoc Chanh (fresh lime). Nước chanh is a classic Vietnamese limeade, known for its refreshing balance of tart, sweet, and occasionally a hint of salt. In Vietnamese cuisine, "chanh" usually refers to green limes, though lemons can be used as a substitute abroad. This is good! It tastes closer to lemonade. For my appetizer, I am having the Goi Cuon Ga (chicken spring rolls). Gỏi cuốn gà are fresh, non-fried rolls filled with poached chicken, rice vermicelli, fresh herbs (mint, cilantro), and lettuce wrapped in thin rice paper. They are a light, healthy alternative to the traditional pork and shrimp version, often served with peanut hoisin dipping sauce or fish sauce (nước chấm). These are light and easy to eat. The cubed or diced or minced chicken is a different approach I haven't seen before. Add sriracha sauce for a little kick. These are good! They do serve everything on styrofoam plates. Adding some ceramic plates would be a nice touch. For my entree, I'm having the ga luclac (also known as Shaking Chicken). This is stir fried chicken breast with mixed vegetables and white rice. Vietnamese Shaking Chicken (gà lúc lắc) is a popular dish featuring wok-seared, cubed chicken thighs marinated in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and garlic, resulting in a caramelized, savory flavor. It is typically seared at high heat to create a crust, served over greens with onions and tomatoes, often accompanied by rice. I've asked for extra spicy. Let's see what comes out. There's always sriracha sauce as a last resort. This is more like it! It's served sizzle hot! That's a big portion! This tastes great! It's nice to be served by the owner himself! What a great meal here! P.S.: When paying, you need to go up to the front counter.

Don't concentrate too hard on trying to figure out if Pho 99 is the best the region's got. After all, luminaries like Mrs. Lee's and Pho House are gone, but Pho 99 is still here, and it's still so damn good. As a vegetarian, I love the tofu and veggies in Pho 99's pho chay. The pillows of tofu have the right combo of chewy skin and pliant interior, there are the right amount of auxiliary veggies, and the slender noodles always melt and dissolve just so into a silky oneness with the broth. I love the slight cinnamon smell in the broth and the way it gets better the longer it sits there, absorbing the squirts of sriracha and the bean sprouts you dump in. If you want something else, take it from my husband, a philistine on whom the delights of all soups are wasted, who says he adores their shaking beef. Family run, consistently delicious, and not overpriced at $20 for a large bowl, Pho 99's enduring goodness is a reminder of the astronomically high level of Vietnamese food in Hartford we are privileged to enjoy.
