This new breakfast/lunch restaurant in Avon is a great choice for dining solo or with the family. It's tucked on the side of the shopping complex south of Main that hosts Chase bank, among other small businesses. As we only came for brunch, I can't speak much to their non-weekend fare, but the restaurant serves breakfast until 11am, when the kitchen switches to a lunch menu. So if you have a group that's undecided on what type of food they want, you're out of luck-- it's one or the other. That may not be a bad thing, because the kitchen can focus on serving one type of meal at a time, but if you're in the mood for breakfast, don't come late. Dishes are all reasonably priced and quite tasty. Breakfast has the usual suspects-- egg dishes including a tasty breakfast burrito, creative plates which have a nice mix of ingredients, pancakes & French toast. Lunch is largely sandwiches, and here again the menu goes beyond the usual fare to include a terrific steak sandwich (Frank's) as well as daily specials. The place offers a large number of beverage choices-- the lemonades are strong and tart, and have blends with such flavors as passion fruit (a favorite of my son's). Coffee choices extend to espresso-based drinks, but their machine/technique needs to be dialed in to really do a great extraction. The latte I had was weak and the milk a loose meringue rather than a silky foam. If you're a coffee snob too, their drip is a great alternative, and their hot chocolate is quite a nice choice. Interior is fairly spartan and clean, but as we head into the summer months, their outdoor patio will definitely get traffic. Great place that we plan to come to many, many times!

Wonderful new restaurant and the lunch specials today were amazing. Turkey butternut wrap with a creamy butternut sauce. Wow. But even better was the Chicken Chili with Cheddar. This place will get a lot of 5 star reviews!

My favorite purchases were the fresh cut egg linguine and the Ritz-based stuffed cod. The fresh linguine cooks in a minute and the texture just hits different in the best possible way. The cod was nice and firm and the Ritz stuffing was crazy delicious. I also liked the Chicken Francaise. You can't really compare it to restaurant quality Francaise because it's specifically made to be re-heated and eaten later. With this in mind, I though that the small chicken pieces and lemon sauce were very solid. My other purchases included clam chowder and Tuna Mac Salad with peas. The Tuna Mac was pretty good. It wouldn't be in regular rotation for me, but I'd get it once in a while. The clam chowder was my least favorite, but I respect that New England Pasta seemed to go for something different. The texture was good and it had plenty of clams and potato. But it tasted like it had a little blue cheese flavor. I can't say for sure that they used blue cheese, but the chowder definitely had something different that gave it this vibe. For me, this flavor was a bit too assertive. I don't live near New England Pasta, but if I did, I would visit once in a while. Four Stars

However, I felt let down by the service experience at this restaurant. After we ordered and the pho came, the table looked strangely empty to me. As someone who frequently eats pho; I realized it was because the waitress never brought the bean spouts, leaves, and lemon/lime slices to put into our broth. I asked if this restaurant serves it and she looked at me strangely and said it was already in the pho. I thought it was so odd, so I explained that when I usually go out for pho in my home state of Hawaii, usually there is a separate small dish brought to the table with all of these items to put into the broth. The waitress then asked if I wanted it and I said yes. About ten minutes later, the waitress brought out a plate and she said that in Avon, most people don't want the sprouts. I wasn't sure if this was because I look like most of the people from Avon (Caucasian), even though I am just visiting. If anything, couldn't she have at least asked if we would like it? We enjoyed our pho and were happy to eat it how we usually do and we ate all our extra bean sprouts. The waitress never came back to ask how was the pho or refill our water. I had to request a copy of my receipt because she did not print one out for me. When I was trying to fill out the receipt/tip, the waitress was trying to have a full on conversation with me asking about the financial burden of living in Hawaii... the timing of this sudden chattiness was not good for me. I was ready to get out of there. All in all, pho was great (thank you lady in the kitchen) but service could have been a lot better. Will probably not come back again. Sorry:(

After seeing the menu, I decided to try their chicken katsu instead while my fiancé tried the beef ramen. We also got two medium bubble teas. Both drinks came out first. For mediums, they were pretty small (especially with a $7 price tag). I will say though, my creme brûlée oreo tea was incredible. I absolutely loved the flavor and the oreo in it. Still pricey but at least it was good. My fiancé ramen came out shortly after and we weren't too impressed. The beef broth was a muted color which looked more like miso. He said the noodles were sticky and pretty soft. I waited about 15 minutes until my chicken katsu came out (we were the only ones in there so it wasn't busy) and it looked promising... Good crunch but seems like chicken thighs were used as there was a good amount of fat in it. It quickly became kinda inedible because of how much sauce was covering the whole dish. I'm a sauce girly and love my condiments, but this was just so excessive. I asked for a box to go and maybe my fiancé will finish it later lol. The girl was so sweet and even offered MORE sauce to go, but i quickly declined. Overall, may be back for the teas if it's payday. Would not try the food again.

This choice was not made lightly, and it comes as a result of insurmountable challenges in maintaining adequate staffing in our kitchen, compounded by rising operational costs. Throughout our journey, our goal has always been to offer you an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, the challenges we have faced have made it increasingly difficult to maintain the standards that our guests deserve and expect. We know some of you will shake your heads and point to all of our faults. We've certainly had many but our greatest accomplishments, our three kids, deserve so much better than what we've been able to give them over the past year. We know some will question us for doing this on such short notice. Please know that we had no other choice. Without a kitchen staff we cannot operate the restaurant. We know that many of you will want to reach out to us to lend your support. We are taking this time to spend it with our family and catch-up on long overdue snuggles and hugs and memories. We hope that you do the same. Our son asked if we were sad that our dreams were over and we immediately responded and told him our dreams were standing right in front of us. We want to express our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support and patronage. Your smiles, laughter, and loyalty have been the heart of our establishment and have inspired us every day. It has been an honor to serve you. We would like to offer to offer to replace any outstanding gift cards (excluding rewards balances) with a gift card from our sister location, Brewery Legitimus. To coordinate exchange of your Lunette gift card for a Brewery Legitimus gift please contact us at info@the-lunette.com. Thank you for being a part of our story. It's located in the quaint and quintessential town, Collinsville, CT. It's situated right on the Farmington River and just steps away from the historic Collins Axe Company. We went on a Saturday for lunch; there were plenty of parking. Since it's winter, the patio area overlooking the river was closed; I can't wait to dine on there when it gets warmer. They didn't have high chairs yet, but we improvised and brought our baby carriage in. The place was lovely; I loved the emerald green chairs and the plants on the walls as decor. The bar looked classy too. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started off with the cheese board; for $16 it came with three cheeses, nuts, fig jam, mini pickles, and crostini. The cheeses were blue cheese, brie, and gruyere. The board was great and had a good amount of cheese; I just wished there were more crostini to hold all the cheeses. They had an awesome food and cocktail menu. I ordered the pomegranate margarita $14; it had pear juice, tequila, honey, and triple sec and it was a tasty drink. I've been following them on social media for a bit and their short rib dish ($28) looked delicious. I had to get it for lunch even though it's a dinner entree. It's Legitimus beer braised short rib, carrots, onions, over garlic mashed potatoes and cheddar. The short rib melted in my mouth, the au jus was flavorful, and the mashed potatoes tied it all together. It was a 5 star dish. The ambiance, food, and service were 5 stars. The prices were a little high but you pay for the quality. They make their own syrups and juice their own lemons & limes for their cocktails. I look forward to going back and trying more food and drinks. I wish them much success in this awesome little town!

I was greeted warmly, and my neighbor and I were seated in a lovely booth by the window. Iced water was poured into the glasses that were sitting on the table, and lunch menus were placed in front of us No munchies or sauce were served while I was perusing the menu I placed my order for an order of chicken wings for the appetizer, and for $16.95, I ordered chicken and garlic sauce with white rice, along with hot and spicy soup and two small egg rolls My neighbor ordered a shrimp and Thai sauce lunch. Within five minutes, the chicken wings arrived 8 in total, which included 4 flats and 4 drumettes These chicken wings were seasoned perfectly, and then deep-fried to a golden brown. A beautiful spicy Thai sauce was served on the side. I could've made a meal out of these. These were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had in my 65 years here on earth. The Tom Young soup arrived, and it wasn't what I was expecting, boy was this thing sour and as soon as I hate it, I went whoa, the waitress saw that I didn't like it and offered to exchange it for Mayo soup which I gladly did. The miso soup was delicious seasoning so nicely with basil. So far, I am experiencing perfection. The dinners arrived, and buy garlic, chicken and vegetables with white rice was OK. It wasn't great, but don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad at all. I would've liked to see more garlic sauce, and maybe a little bit more spicy. Instead, it was rather bland. My neighbor loved the Thai shrimp and vegetable vegetables Restrooms were clean, and I loved the ambience, Thai casual. The total with the tip was just over $54. I am really on the fence if this is the best Thai in Connecticut or close to it. So far no. But I would gladly come here again because this would be a top five in the Avon Valley area. I love the experience, and our server gave us extraordinary service. This was a great experience. I just wish the main course was a little bit more seasoned. I will come here in the future and try a different dish

So as I pulled into the Walmart-Big Y Plaza in Avon. I parked almost right in front of the little restaurant just to the left of Five Guys and the haircut place. After hearing how delicious lunch specials were, I decided to get one, and the owner/order taker informed me that because this is a holiday no lunch specials. I was ready to walk out. Then, after looking at the prices, I was double ready to walk out. But because of the trooper that I am, I ordered the Yangzhou fried rice. The order arrived, and it just didn't look right; but that's OK; I'm a trooper. The fried rice was missing corn and scallions, a staple to this Szechuan dish. As I dug in, it hit me immediately. There was no flavor. The rice had zip for flavor. The shrimp were not seasoned. The diced pork looked old, the beans sprouts looked OK, the peas looked fresh, and the mushrooms were warm, , but not cooked. This dish lacked flavor. It was almost like it tasted like water. I brought the dish back and asked if there was some type of sauce that could put on this dish, and the owner got pissed at me. Copped a real attitude. He gave me three little soy sauce packets and sent me on my way. How this restaurant earned 4 1/2 to 5 stars is beyond me. Yes, parking was great, yes, the place was spotless, but the food tasted like a dieters choice that you would order a Chinese restaurant like steamed broccoli with white rice. Flavorless and disappointing. Plus it wasn't cheap at $16 with a soda. Will I be back to this location to retry it? Nope With so many new locations popping up in Avon on Route 44, I'll spend my money elsewhere, trying new things. I'm just really disappointed in this place and the owner. Perhaps he should take a refresher course on customer service, and allow lunch specials on holidays. This place was not busy at all and I was there at lunchtime. I just don't see this place lasting.
