    vanilla latte

I have been dying to try this place after I saw some social media videos about it! This place has 5 stars for a reason and totally lives up to the hype. All the pastries are made fresh every morning with great quality ingredients. You can taste it! They also make all their syrups in house. Their vanilla uses real vanilla beans! You can see all the vanilla specks in the latte, cinnamon roll, and anything that uses vanilla extract/syrup. My partner got the vietnamese coffee. Although not authentic, tasted delicious. My vanilla latte was equally delicious. A latte with a hint of sweetness. Perfect. Our favorite items were definitely their biscuits! Not dry to all! Super moist and very flavorful. Their cinnamon roll, petit pastries and chocolate croissant were tasty as well. I have to talk about the service! The person that was at the register helping us was just the sweetest person! She was so kind and helpful. She also threw in a free dinner roll. The coffee barista was equally kind. I wish this place was closer to us. It is a fantastic spot and I will definitely be back. There's a few tables to sit and do work as well. Loved the colorful decor, it felt very cozy.

The strawberry pastry is my favorite!

So delicious! Pastries and breakfast sandwiches, service, decor - you can't beat BouNom.

Khamla and her warm, friendly staff really know how to make you feel special. From the moment you walk in the door, to when you are choosing from a selection of the most delicious pastries you've ever had, to being rung up at the register - you feel like you're walking into a friend's home and they are ready to take care of you. There are a handful of third spaces and bakery/cafes where my partner and I are regulars, and BouNom is at the top of that list. We can't seem to stay away. Khamla is not only generous with her patrons, but with the community at large. Her space is inclusive, welcoming, and so easy to feel like you can be yourself. It is no wonder that she is a crowd favorite in this region! Our faves : bacon egg in a hole, blueberry petite bites, blueberry maple pound cake, cheddar chive biscuits - honestly anything you order will be no doubt delicious!

This is such a cute bakery. The owner of the bakery was at the register and she was so incredibly kind and had such positive energy! We went on Valentine's Day and they were sold out of many items. I was able to pick up a BouNom roll and loved it - I warmed it up a bit after getting home and it was delightful!

BouNom Cafe & Bakery has been on my foodie bucket list for a while and finally checked it off my list! It is worth the hike and I highly recommend visiting early to have the best selection of items because they will sell out. They specialize in French and Southern-inspired bakery items. We visited on a Sunday morning, the crowd was steady, but we got through the line quickly and efficiently. There is a small seating area, decorated with blues, cute, cottage style-decor. We scored a table to eat a few of our treats and enjoy our tea and coffee. My mom and I got a variety of goodies from sweet to savory: Scallion Roll, Tomato Bacon Cheese Bite, Blueberry Petite Bite, Wildflower Honey Buttermilk Biscuit, Cinnamon Roll, Caramel Bun, and Latte Bun. For drinks, I got a Matcha Latte with Butterscotch and my mom got a Maple Cardamom Latte. The drinks were piping hot. The pastries and baked goods were phenomenal--where do I start? The Latte Bun was to die for that it had a lot of cocoa and espresso flavor like they grounded up chocolate-covered espresso beans. I anticipated the cinnamon roll to be really good. Shout out to Jason P. for the reco since I learned from his Instagram Reel that BouNom's Cinnamon Roll was on a list and named Connecticut's best cinnamon roll. This cinnamon roll was might just be CT's best... The bun was moist, cinnamon-y and sweet, but the real star for me was the icing. Not too sweet cream cheese icing with vanilla bean. It was SO good! It's surely a must try. Like most bakeries, there items will rotate with a few staples and the offerings maybe different during your visit. I loved my matcha latte because it was perfectly blended, had a lot of flavor, and not too sweet. My mom enjoyed here coffee and we liked that there was a variety of unique flavors like cardamom rose, maple cardamom, and seasonal flavors. All our goodies were packed up in the cutest take home box. They pay close attention to the smallest details. The prices are a bit steep, but the quality is worth it. It was a long drive for us and we indulged. Highly recommend giving them a try if you are in the area.

This place was so good! Some of the best pastries I've ever had. The owner and staff were so sweet and helpful! BouNom was so cozy and very cute inside. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely adorable cafe. Have been waiting a little to try this place as I heard a lot about here. Definitely go early as items will sell out ( they sold out when I was there!!) you can also preorder if you want something specific but I can see why the hype for this place is high. Absolutely delicious and a great addition to this area. The pastry was soo good and I can't wait to try more. I had lemon loaf cake and was too sweet with a coffee. Perfect little morning treat- strongly recommend

Took a little bakery hiatus but had to come back and try these new items, very delicious. Banana chocolate muffin {5/5}: Hands down one of my most memorable muffins I've had in awhile. Maybe I'm weird in that I love very moist and flavorful muffins and this was just that with plenty of bananas and chocolate throughout. Finished it before leaving the store....will have to buy multiple next time Sausage biscuits and gravy {4/5}: I'm not the biggest fan of biscuits and gravy, but this was I could get behind. Buttery golden biscuit that went really well with that sausage gravy. Scallion roll warmed {4.5/5}: if you love cheesy bread and scallions, you'll absolutely love this. London fog {4.5/5}: fragrant and sweet, great for a cold day

The first time we tried to go there, everything was sold out, so they closed early. The second time, I made sure to order ahead prior to pick up. The place was so cute with a sit in area that had your typical cafe vibes. I was surprised there were items left when I went to pick up my order the next morning (Friday) at 11 am. Everything in the showcase looked mouthwatering. I admittedly plan to try everything haha. They sell French and southern inspired pastries. The story of their family immigrating from Laos to the US was similar to my family from Cambodia. It's inspiring to see them become successful! The prices were high but the products were quality; I think it's worth it. I ordered an iced chai latte to go as well; this drink was good. I'm looking forward to trying their hand crafted lemonades next time. The showstoppers were the pastries. I ordered the cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, Southern sticky pecan buns, and egg in a hole. The egg in the hole was amazing. I was only planning to take a bite since I already ate my lunch. I couldn't stop and ended up finishing it. It has egg, cheese, chives, and chopped ham/bacon in a croissant. The sticky pecan bun was buttery and sweet; the candied pecans had a sugary crunch to it; the most amazing sticky bun I've ever tasted. My husband had the cinnamon bun and said 10/10. Pro tip: put in microwave for 5-10 seconds, even better. In conclusion, I will be back sooner rather than later!

I came here since I went to get my car serviced at Hoffman in Simsbury and have been wanting to come since. I got to the bakery around 11:50 and majority of the baked goods were all sold out. Once everything is sold out they close. I ended up getting the banana chocolate chip muffin and some macrons. The banana chocolate chip muffin was really good. It evens had big slices of banana in it. Definitely different from places that sell banana chocolate chip muffins. Normally the banana will be all mashed up and incorporated into the batter. This one had a one up on all the banana chocolate chip muffins I ever had. It was sooooo good. The place had a cute and inviting vibe once you walk through the doors. I highly recommend this bakery even though majority of the stuff was all sold out. But that in itself tells you how good the place is. Definitely have to try and get there earlier. I want to see what it looks like when it first opens with all the baked goodies.

This is hands down the best cinnamon roll and cheddar bacon chive biscuit i have ever had!

I cannot not put into words how amazing BouNom is. I drove almost 45 minutes to try this place and it did not disappoint by any means! To put into perspective, I specifically really wanted to try their cinnamon roll and when I arrived, they had let me know they were out for the day. (Tip: do an online order the day before to avoid this!). Instead I ended up getting their Cheddar Chive Bacon Biscuit and Peach Bites, and the owner ended up giving me a free goodies to try knowing I came all this way. That was extremely thoughtful and I was blown away by their customer service. After sitting down and enjoying the ambiance for a bit, one of the staff members come out with a cinnamon roll saying they had an extra in the back and that it was on the house...wow, I was just speechless and couldn't believe it. I want to let you know that was the best cinnamon roll I have ever had, and the cream cheese frosting is to die for. Everything I had was marvelous and I give so much gratitude to the owner and staff members. I will gladly make this drive any day for their amazing pastry and bakery items!

That's because when you pull into the shopping plaza.....you don't see it. But if you circle around to the right, you'll see it on the side of the strip mall's buildings. And trust me, this spot is definitely worth hunting down to experience a standout breakfast or lunch. We walked in a little before 1:00 yesterday and found a table for two in the back left corner of the dining room, so we had a good view of the entire room. I have to tell ya, the place was packed! Breakaway closes at 3:00 every day except Sunday (2:00), and there were breakfast and lunch menus out, plus a few daily specials. My wife went with a "William's Ham Panini" ($17) with thin sliced ham, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and honey mustard on a grilled panini. We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.

These days it's hard to find a cafe that isn't overpriced and better than just average. But Toasted Oat hits the high points of quality of cook on the food, even if the ingredients may not all be top notch. They have breakfast sandwiches, bowls and scrambles, as well as regular sandwiches, salads and burritos. We enjoyed the regular breakfast sandwich with spinach and cheese (subbed the meat but wish the spinach had been cooked in - $7) and the breakfast scramble which included 2 eggs, 3 veggies, cheese, protein all mixed/cut up together, as well as hash brown (didn't exactly look homemade?) and toast ($11). Everything was served in to-go containers so the looks weren't the best but makes sense given the place and that most people probably don't dine in. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Everything takes time to come out so you know it's done to order. They also have some coffee and tea. They had a few coffee cake items in a glass display but didn't look homemade either. It feels like a cafe should have more selection of pastries but again bother me. Service was friendly and patient. The actual location isn't that great visually either. There is one longer table and a few smaller ones, but it's not a big place and not decorated to impress (fine by me!) It is located in a small nondescript plaza with an Indian market. Small parking lot. Wish this small business well!

My brunch buddy and I had to make a last minute change of plans, so we landed at Toasted OAT today for breakfast. There are a few tables in a roped off section of the parking lot to eat outside. Inside, there's a long table in the middle, 3 smaller tables on the left, and a bar at the window. We had no problem getting a seat, but it seems like it's more of a take-and-go place than a destination to eat. There are a lot of customizations you can make to your food order, which is more easily done in their online ordering system--but there's a $1.95 service fee to use it. My friend and I made our decisions based off of that system but ordered at the counter. While there are a lot of breakfast and lunch options, there aren't many beverages. Coffee, hot chocolate, and tea are the mainstays for warm beverages, and all cold beverages other than cold brew coffee are prepackaged bottles in a cooler and run just short of $4. Every order, whether it's take-out or eat-in, is served in disposable packaging with disposable utensils. I ordered the Reuben bowl without eggs and a side waffle with syrup. Kind of love that I could get a side waffle. It took a while for the food to come out. It felt longer than it should have been for how few people were there, but I didn't time it. My waffle was cold. The tator tots in the Reuben bowl, however, were cooked perfectly, as were my friend's hash browns. Everything tasted great. If you're looking for the picturesque weekend brunch experience, this isn't it. But if you want a quick bite that's well made with quality ingredients and no-fuss beverages, you'll be very happy here. Even more so if you want to take it on the go.
