This week has been particularly difficult on a personal level. I decided to take a drive on this summer like afternoon to Cafe Bela Vida in Avon. I'm pretty familiar Avon but Bela Vida is located away from all the other attractions, right next to a small fitness club. Bela Vida is such a beautiful space, there's positive words right outside the door. The beautiful plants all over the space made me want to stay. The natural materials made this place comfortable and relaxing. The menu of teas and protein shakes is the size of the whole wall. I decided to go with the Dirt Cake Lean & Fit Shake. I got mine in a medium size, which was a pretty generous size, and I realized I could have gone with a small. This was pretty chocolatey, but I could tell there was protein powder as the base. Well I knew what I was getting, so I wasn't so let down by the after taste. I will say this was my breakfast and lunch today. It was very filling and decently tasty. What I enjoyed a lot more than the shake it's self, is the space and the environment. It is a great space to be alone or with friends. I enjoyed reading parts of the book The Astrology of You and Me, they had on the little table. And the background music was a great counterpart. I plan to return here in the future and try something else. read more

Was out and about with the girlfriend and was looking for a place to have a bit of a snack. Found a smoothie snack not too far away from a coffee shop we decided to try. Place is very open, a single waist high counter and blenders. Ladies are friendly and knowledgeable in all the different boosted teas they offer. Not a tea person, so I opted for a protein shake. The tea was strong, tart but the fruit flavors were not strong enough to step on the green tea flavor. The protein shake was grainy but had a good flavor. Creamy, cold, and thick. They do topping as well but I opted against adding it. Price is on par for a shake place. They also have oat balls and other misc snacks. It's a pretty decent shake, and a very good tea place. The girls that work there are great-I have nothing against them. They're working with what they are given and try their best. The owner on the other hand, pushes for this high vibe and empowering everyone that comes in, but comes off condescending and high almighty whenever she's there. And the stories I have her from her past employees make me absolutely shocked that they are still open. It is not a clean environment either, I'm constantly seeing dirt everywhere, the drink mixer just sits in dirty water between drinks, the bathroom is disgusting whenever I'm there, and in the summer there were flies all over the place. This "business" is a scam along with the owner and I would use caution coming here. With the minimal care in hygiene used making drink, I can only imagine how careless she is on her rules for handling food. If I could give 0/5 stars, I would. read more

I had first come here for a Yelp Elite event over the winter and I have not stopped coming back since. The concent is pretty straight forward - they sell protein shakes and energy teas but the vibe here is so great that I'd come here just for that. The ladies behind the counter are super nice and always point me in the right direction in terms of a shake flavor. I also love their protein fudge and "balls" - always making sure to leave with a couple of containers as I'm never sure when I will be back. I love coming here for an after workout treat!!! Whether you're getting a shake or a tea you can't go wrong. There's also bowls on their menu which I haven't tried yet (but definitely want to)! They have such yummy flavors to choose from and always have seasonal specials depending on the time of year!! My favorite shake is the Samoa flavor and I love the gummy bear tea (strawberry and watermelon). The shakes keep you full for hours and the teas will give you an extra boost of energy!! You can choose which level of caffeine you'd like (1-3), I usually opt for a level one which is more than enough caffeine for me. All of the girls who work here are super helpful and cheerful which is always refreshing!! Coming here instantly puts me in a better mood. The have adorable tags they put around your straw with inspirational words and phrases. The whole place has such a positive vibe about it- even as you walk in there's mantras to say. The ladies working behind the counter just radiate positivity and are so helpful if you can't decide what to get. I'm not really into healthy eating. I eat what tastes good to me. I was pleasantly surprised to come across Cafe Bela Vida. Plenty of parking in the lot, yoga studio downstairs! There is a positive vibe coming from there the second you walk in. I had a mint Oreo shake which was delicious. They have holiday inspired shakes for the next few weeks. My second choice was peanut butter, next time for that one. I spent a few minutes talking with Claudia. She was very knowledgeable about all the products including calorie content and protein grams in the shakes. She was a very positive person and was genuinely interested in talking to the customers. What a super fun way to start a Saturday morning! Cafe Bela Vida is all about healthy shakes, energizing teas and boosted sips. The second you walk in, you can feel the energy from the staff! It all flows from there when they are preparing your teas and shakes. Here's the scoop on Boosted Sips...benefits include: green and black tea to boost metabolism, aloe for digestion and gut health, vitamin B energy shot to power you through your day and a guarana shot for focus. I went with the Blow Pop- that's a combo of green apple and watermelon and it tastes just like a Blow Pop! If you need the energy to get through the day, look no further. There are so many other great flavors as well. Check out my menu pic. They put inspirational, handwritten tags around the straws of everything your order. Really nice touch! Mine said, "You are strong capable to move mountains." I felt like it after! Thanks, ladies! (Just a heads up, if you have any kind of sensitivity to caffeine, proceed with caution.) My smoothie was called the Drumstick and it legit tasted just like your favorite summer ice cream cone treat. Yum! I'm trying the Almond Joy on my next visit. Here's the what you need to know about their shakes: they make for an amazing breakfast, lunch replacement (they suggest the 24 ounce when it's replacing a meal) or snack (16 ounce when it's replacing a snack!). The 16 ounce is 220-250 calories with 24 grams of protein and 24 ounce is 330-350 calories with 36 grams of protein! They can make almost any shake gluten free. Their shakes do have traces of dairy (protein powder made in the same factory with dairy, so they can't technically say dairy free) but super close to dairy free. I am lactose sensitive and had no issue with it. They can also make a vegan version as well if you ask. There was a shake and tea combo special this week that got a free fat burn donut shot with purchase. That's awesome. Cheers to that! I just do not like how the place shows support for personal growth and healthy lifestyle but then you can taste and feel the grittiness in your mouth when taking down the drinks. The syrup they use in itself isn't "good" for you so you are taking in the bad with the good afterward same as any shop you go to. The manager talks about how much she makes and how her bank is in high ranks .... Well that's not what she should be all happy about it should be that she has great vibes from these amazing customers coming through the door. Or how about how we have no idea what she is putting in these shakes there is 0 nutritional values on any drinks and doesn't show exactly what is in these drinks. I think to come in and read a book or take a seat with a tea maybe but anything more is just not the place for me. The ambiance is great but the drinks ... The best part of my week is stopping in to see my CBV fam. The staff are always wonderful and kind. Every individual who works there makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in. There's always a new flavor to check out. If you're unsure what to try, ask any of the girls for recommendations. I absolutely LOVE this place. Until recently. I found out the Herbal Life powders they use have SUCRALOSE (chemical, toxic sugar) in them! I thought they were separated from the other "smoothie" places because they ONLY used STEVIA, which is a natural plant-based sweetener. I had been getting headaches and now I know why. Not sure but I figure theyre aware? Otherwise I could NOT shut up about what a totally AWESOME place this is to anyone that would listen!! The atmosphere, the decor, the girls upbeat positive additudes and even the little love notes you get with each drink are so supportive and encouraging. I know a single mom started this company and I'm rooting for her, but I can't buy any more shakes or protien balls and it upsets me so much. I REALLY wanted to like Cafe Bela. Like I really really did. I've been following them on Instagram and they make everything look so good. When I got in there I immediately noticed all the containers. It wasn't until I left that I realized what this store actually is. They use Herbalife products, a well known MLM company. I have no problem with starting your own company/business but I do not see MLMs as legitimate businesses, and the fact that this isn't mentioned anywhere felt like I was being lied to. Herbalife is riddled with lawsuits and people have died of liver failure on Herbalife. If you don't believe me watch Betting on Zero. I got the Beach It tea and couldn't take more than a few sips. My boyfriend tried it and immediately said oh my god you just paid $7 for that?! It takes like my preworkout but worse! Get rid of the Herbalife, use actual decent smoothie/tea products and maybe I'll try again. I'm giving 2 stars because I liked the atmosphere but I can't understand if people going there actually like the drinks or just go for the aesthetic, but my drink was overpriced and gross. I'm all for supporting small businesses but this is an MLM masquerading as a small business and doesn't seem right. read more

Okay so first time trying cafe Bela Vida. Everything posted on Instagram looks delicious but what was suppose to be an $8 shake plus add $4 for the fat burner shot equals $12. I understand you have to add tax which it would have came out to $12.76. I was charged over $14 dollars for a 16oz shake seems a little expensive to me seeing how a 16oz shake is only $8. They genuinely care about you and make you feel loved and appreciated. Not to mention the teas are delicious, worth the $ as a special treat to help fuel your body and feel refreshed. I thought this cafe had a great vibe and beautiful decor. However, for a cafe that is focused on health, they do not take COVID seriously. Staff members were talking with costumers and removed their face masks to do so, while also making shakes and preparing food for other customers. Staff that did "wear" masks had them pulled down so that their noses were exposed. COVID aside, all the staff wore their hair down while preparing food. The Menu had a bunch of items on it that sounded great. However, there was no description of what was in the shakes or what they cost. Overall, the products were good but I was too distracted by the lack of sanitation to enjoy my shake. read more

HOWEVER, shortly after I shares Instagram stories of being there and inbox became flooded with friends warning me that they use Herbalife products. It's so slimy that they are clearly super secretive about this, as nowhere in their store or on their social feed do you ever see them posting about it! If it's not a shady pyramid scheme then why not be transparent and honest with your customers and community that you take so much pride in building "real" connections with???? I've heard great things about the teas here and was really excited to try them. I wanted to like this place so bad, but as soon as I got there I realized all their products were made from Herbalife products (an MLM aka pyramid scheme). It's upsetting that they don't disclose this anywhere on their very active instagram account. I recommend you look up Herbalife and the lawsuits they're involved in before going. Giving this 2 stars because I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly; however I will not be returning. What a cute little cafe with relaxing boho vibes. The staff at the cafe were so smiley, friendly and helpful. When I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and someone immediately came over to me and helped explain how the menu worked. I ordered a protein smoothie - the French toast in bed, which was a Valentine's Day special. It was very tasty, filling and the best part was I didn't feel guilty about it because it was healthy (minus the m n m toppings )It's nice that you get to pick you own toppings and can literally customize your smoothies or bowl with whatever you want. There is ample space in the cafe and I can see myself sitting here during the day and working on my blogs. When I came in, I was feeling a little down and depressed. Walking into this cafe and being surrounded with the positive quotes, the friendly and radiant staff, I walked out of there with a smile on my face. I saw the Instagram account for this place and thought I would stop in and try it out . This place is super deceiving. It has amazing vibes, decorations , sweet staff. But unfortunately they are affiliated with the MLM Herbalife. (Not a small business , a worldwide corporation.) This is not advertised or made known anywhere until you see the canisters all over the counter. Herbalife has a bad rep and many lawsuits that claim their products cause liver issues. A nutritionist I know warned me of their products and I was super upset to learn that this shop uses them. Their products are not FDA approved and many ingredients aren't even from this country. It has even been discovered that their ice coffee has laxative in it ! Nothing is "fresh". All powder based mixed with water. These are overpriced protein shakes that are being advertised as "healthy" when they really aren't. Many of the girls try to recruit people to join them and it's borderline brainwashing. These poor young girls have no idea what they are in for . Something that is super off putting is the owner. She gives off vibes that she is better than everyone else and posts how much money she has in her bank account on her social media account. This place is fantastic. Started coming here during the shut down when they had text in ordering, and have continued since they've reopened. This is one of the friendliest places you can go into and everything they serve is packed with flavor. Their shakes are as filling as a full meal and have gotten me through some long days without a meal break. Their boosted teas also pack a punch and they've got so many flavors and options, it's hard to choose. But if I had to recommend anything, it would be their Captain America boosted tea and the Fruity Pebbles shake. Those are my new go-tos whenever I stop by, which is becoming more and more frequent.
