This is a pretty amazing health food store. The selection is outstanding and they have a ton of stuff packed into a relatively small space. It's easy to find items and the staff is super helpful. Gluten free stuff. Soy free things. Non GMO items. Vegan foods and lotions. CBD selection. Nice kombucha variety. I found some wonderful, high quality lavender oil...which happened to be on sale. I lived in Northampton all my life and moved away about 8 years ago. Yesterday I was up visiting a friend for lunch and I was on a mission to find a certain vegan cheese after a store near me had closed and no one else in my area carried it. Since we were downtown eating lunch we decided to pop in to see if they had it. They did-and they had the biggest selection of it that I have seen! (Nuts for Cheese). I was so excited. When I walked in I didn't grab a basket, but my hands quickly filled up with so many great products that can sometimes be hard to find. I definitely had to go back for the basket! The staff were all extremely helpful and so friendly! It was such an awesome shopping experience. I will definitely be back more often on my visits after seeing everything that you offer! read more

I went to Cornucopia the other day wanting to ask about sleep supplements. I've been having a difficult time staying asleep and began using Melatonin (which isn't meant to be used long term) some 6 months ago. The side effects had been night sweats and headaches. I love Northampton. There are so many unique stores and restaurants. Cornucopia is a wonderful little natural food store, located in the lower level of a mall. They have a large variety of bulk grains, dried fruits, healthy candies, nuts, etc. They have a small produce section with organic produce. Their shelves are always well stocked with a huge variety of products. I would shop here, over Whole Foods, any day! read more

This is my go-to spot when I'm downtown and need a quick snack or when I just need to pick up a few ingredients for dinner. It's tiny but I'm always amazed at just how much stuff they actually do sell. I don't know how many times I've gone in for just one item - the next thing you know I have an armful of groceries. Love love love Cornucopia. This is an amazing place for all your natural food selection. They have fresh organic local fruit, your medicinal supplies, dried fruits, candies, chocolates, spreads, crackers, cosmetics, could go on forever and ever. The staff is really really nice, and always helpful. The ambiance is amazing. It feels open and open-form. The prices are on the expensive side but that's fairly normal for a health foods store :) Totally recommended! Solid! Small little natural store tucked away on Main st. Reminds me of what Whole Foods set out to do many years ago before they sold out. Anyway, Mel is fantastic! Actually all the employees here are fantastic! Friendly and chatty. It's like talking with friends. Nice little selection. They have name brands but also local as well. Tucked into the basement of Thorne's Marketplace, since it opened, is this eclectic health food store. It's independent, rather small ... but the prices aren't quite as high as the normal run of health food establishments, and the staff has always been very friendly. Even in the heyday of Bread and Circus in Hadley, Cornucopia has always been worth the trouble. read more

Loose leaf teas. Honestly, that should be all I have to say about this place, because that in and of itself is amazing. But, no, there's more! Haven't really had much experience with the food (although they do have Annie's!--gotta have the staples, like mac and cheese), but the soaps and such are great. The selection is fairly large for such a small place focusing on local and natural things, and the prices, while above what you'd pay for some scary chemical and corporate produced stuff, is still not too bad. read more

This is one of the favorite places to go to in Northamption! This little store has a great selection of products and even had the yacon syrup I was looking for that no other store in the area had. They carry great products at great prices and everyone is always friendly and helpful. If you are in the Northamption area you should stop by and check it out!!!! read more

I was having trouble locating a particular organic grapefruit juice in Connecticut so I called Cornucopia in MA. I spoke with Marc and explained my situation. He said that they were having problems, too, but once he was able to get it he would call me. He called back within a week and said they had the merchandise in. I said it was a 3 hour round trip for me to come there. He said no problem. It will be there. I took the trip, never having been before, and met Nick who not only had the merchandise but gave me a 10% discount. Then when I said I was so delighted, that I'd made the trip to Connecticut, he said ' make it 20%'. We'd love to have you continue to make the trip once a month and enjoy our store. Then he carried the bottles to my car, drove with me to a parking garage so I could stay longer than the 15 minute parking permitted and walked back to the store with me where I continued to shop. This store is delightful. Their assortment has many hard to find items for those who are organic, vegan, whole food plant based. It was a treasure to find and the people there remind you why small businesses are so important, not to be usurped by the likes of Amazon and Walmart. People need people and people need Cornucopia and their staff in their lives! read more

I was only in here once, but I thought it rather pleasant. This place is surely nirvana for the yuppie Whole Foods set. They sold me 100 unbleached coffee filters for a little over two dollars, and I bought a bag of loose leaf tea for a very competitive price. Some other items looked quite expensive, though, but it's not their fault that they can't negotiate Walmart-style prices on things like kombucha or vegan marshmallows. Plus, the extra money gets you great service. I had to ask about the filters, and the clerk was both warm and efficient. read more

Great store. I know it can be a bit more expensive than other bigger natural food stores but you can find almost everything you need and still find some deals. Vit. dept. is great but my favorite thing is the to-go food made in house. I've been eating it for years and love it. what prompted me to write this is the gen. tso's tofu I just ate, sooooo good!! This is a great natural food store! While they didn't have the item I was looking for the staff was very helpful and knowledgable. They even offered to order in the product for me as well as showed me multiple equivalent items. Their bulk nuts and rice section is well stocked and decently priced. They also had a very nice fake meat section. It's nice that this is so much closer than the other natural food market. Great location! Friendly people! read more

My wife and I have been shopping here for years. We always liked the idea of shopping at a small local independent health food store over Whole Foods, but sadly we will not be shopping at Cornucoppia again due to a very humiliating incident. The other day my wife (who is non-white) I went to the store to pick up some cough syrup for a sick relative, and my wife was aggressively approached by the owner who said "can I help you" in a clearly accusatory way. My wife showed him the cough syrup in her hand, and then he tried to escort her to cash register (I am assuming to make sure she would pay for it). We were very both very upset by this, especially since we were in the store with my daughter (who is biracial) so my wife confronted him, but he adamantly denied he was profiling. He then proceeded to offer us a %20 discount on the cough syrup, basically implying his guilt, and at the same time trying to buy us off by taking $2 off a $10 bottle of cough syrup. This incident was particularly upsetting for us considering that the store markets itself as a progressive establishment. Nevertheless, I have found that some of the most liberal places in town can be the most closed minded and bigoted. I have heard of other similar incidents in this store from friends, so I encourage anyone to share their experiences. We certainly won't be shopping here again. read more
