When I asked to see a manager, the girl acted like it was a difficult concept to comprehend. I go to Randall's quite frequently with my children who are both toddlers. It is very difficult to eat in the greenhouse when they don't provide seating for children, such as a high chair or a booster seat. I made the request to a woman at the help desk and she very rudely said that they're not a restaurant and will not provide those seats. And if my kids needed a seat that could bring my stroller in or my own seating. I called and spoke with the owner and she also said that they would have to budget that in and make room in the greenhouse. One high chair probably takes up about 2 ft by 2ft and a booster seat even less. And to make the comment that they would have to budget that in is pretty disgusting seeing as what they charge for a single sandwich. I'm sure the owner is quite well off and to not want to provide simple seating (like places like Barstow's does) for everyone including toddlers is greedy . I almost offered to buy them for the restaurant myself. We will not be returning. read more

Everything about this place is fantastic, starting with the fresh-farm ice cream which, is one of the best I've had!!! The store has very fresh produce and interesting yummies. We get take out supper from Randall's often, perhaps twice or three times a week. It isn't a restaurant I know but the variety of foods and themes is outstanding. The choices, salads, sides are amazing . I have had the haddock, pork tenderloin, steak etc. . Salads, fabulous coleslaw. Freshly made sandwiches. Also the desserts I hear are great but I'm not allowed to try them. This place has something for everyone! Fabulous fresh fruit and vegetables . Pros: -Super creamy ice cream -Lots of flavor options Cons: -Cash only -- Staff recommendation: Mississipi Mud Pie. Kiddie Double Cookie with Hot Fudge ($4.07) Very large scoop of double cookie (vanilla ice cream, cookie dough, and Oreos) with hot fudge. They put it in a small cup, assuming so that the hot fudge would be contained. The ice cream quality was great--no freezer burn at all and incredibly creamy. There was a ton of cookie dough (which was OK tasting), but only a few Oreo bits. The hot fudge was fine, but I personally prefer Friendly's. I wouldn't get this flavor again, but Elsie's is a great quality ice cream shop in Western MA that I'd return to if I were in the area. read more

The ice cream at Elsie's Creamery is the best in the Pioneer Valley. Summer 2018 the local creameries created a passport that highlighted local creameries. We accepted the challenge and went to all of them. Elsie's wasn't on the list but it is the best. Flayvors at Cook Farm is a close second and still 5 stars. McCrays is a solid 4 stars for the ice cream but they also have fresh baked goods and if kids are in tow the play place and petting animals makes it worth the stop. Mapleline in Hadley and Smiarowski in Sunderland were major disappointments. Hadley Scoop was 2 for ice cream, but the lawn games might warrant a stop if traffic is slow and you have time to kill. Barstow's had a great bakery and they promote their environmental aspects, but they bring in ice cream and options are limited. read more

Today I went Randall's farm for some ice cream that I was looking forward all day as were my roommates. I was bringing them here as it would be a great first time experience however I was surprised to see that they were closed so online it said that the creamery is open until 9 pm. Even other customers were there due to the misinformation that was on the Randall's farm website. The best ice cream in this part of Massachusetts! It is all homemade and they have so many flavors! They also cater to sugar free, and vegan diets! Unfortunately their waffle cones are not homemade, but it was alright considering it came out of a box. What was nice about this ice cream shop is that they also have a nursery and a grocery store that you can stroll through! They sell such a beautiful variety of garden supplies, plants and flowers! What a fun place! It's larger than I expected, but there was a greenhouse with a nice flower selection, and an outdoor area with a veggie and fruit selection. We wandered around the veggie and fruit section since we were looking for Portuguese peppers and tomatoes, but as we walked through the greenhouse to go pay, the flowers caught our eye so we ended up buying a hanging pot for our front porch. After buying our plants, we went to the ice cream window to buy some ice cream. Their homemade flavors were very interesting, and extremely delicious. The ice cream was super creamy and flavorful. It seems Randall's has lost the sense of customer service. While everyone seems to be working hard, maybe too hard. Its my experience every time I am in there that the workers are extremely unhappy. Try to get a smile out of anyone. I feel i am bothering them when I put my order in at the deli. Here is a novel idea, smile and say how may help you, say with a smile thank you and mean it. I get the same level of customer appreciation from the teenager at the local fast food joint. The attitude of the employees wasn't the only thing cold...cheeseburger chowder wasn't hot, wasn't lukewarm, it was cold. I guess cold is what they are shooting for.
