I like Inter Produce a lot. It's easy to get to on the G2 PVTA bus if you don't drive. If you do,…read morethey have their own parking lot, with free parking. The store hours are excellent, and they have a decent selection of European groceries, and tea, in addition to the produce, which is their main event. They have real Avjar. Win, win! I love peppers, and I think of Inter Produce as the pepper people. Green ones, red ones, yellow and orange ones, hot ones, they've got them. Nice ones, too. Fresh and the prices are good. The last time I was there I got a head of Romaine lettuce that looked local it was so fresh. It was massive, with big green leaves. And because I'm 99% sure it was local, I had no fear of getting sick. (Summer of 2026, here. Lettuce. Yeah.) Eggplant was fresh and there was a good selection of cruciferous veggies too. I was reluctant to buy potatoes, though, and this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. There were more bad spuds than good. Sad but true. These were bagged spuds, too. And the ones that were unbagged were too close to the sun/light source, and had turned green. Bummer. (I do not eat green spuds. Do a search and look up why you shouldn't either.) :( The store is well lit, you have a choice of a small grocery trolley, a hand basket, or one of those wheelie things with a retractable handle. The woman at the counter was professional and courteous. I brought my own bags, which she appreciated, and together we bagged up my stuff quickly. So, Inter Produce gets my vote, they're locally owned, they donate to local food banks, and are an asset to our community. Just mind the spuds.

The staff is always super friendly and willing to help, whether you need a recommendation or just have a quick question. Their prices are surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting, which makes shopping here an easy choice. Overall, it's a reliable, clean, and genuinely enjoyable place to get your produce.

I have to admit however that one of my main reasons for going is because they carry Ground Up flours. Ground Up is a local flour mill based in Holyoke, MA that doesn't use any kind of GMO or chemicals. This is the flour that my favorite bakery (Hungry Ghost Bread in Northampton) uses to make their delicacies. You can visually see and taste the difference in this flour. My mom who usually reacts badly to storebought gluten products has no issues whatsoever with this variety of flour. We used to think she was gluten intolerant but now we think it's probably whatever stuff they spray on wheat to keep bugs off that she's reacting too. But really, people shouldn't be consuming plants that have been sprayed by harsh chemicals or has been genetically modified which is another reason why I appreciate Dave's natural garden. People working there are really nice and help you with whatever you need.
