Came here for the pick your own blueberries and it was a great family activity. The kids had a…read moreblast. Parking is somewhat limited near the storefront, and it was pretty packed when we visited, but we were still able to find a spot. Blueberry picking was easy and we found plenty of good berries. As of July 2026, it was $4.50 per pound with a 10 pound minimum. Do wear sunscreen. It gets hot out there and there's not much shade. After picking, we spent some time in the farm store. They sell a great selection of wines, ciders, jams, and other local products. The apple cider was really good, and the jams looked amazing. We were hoping to grab a blueberry pie but unfortunately most of them had already sold out by the time we arrived. They also serve ice cream from Northside Creamery and there's a small deli as well. For the kids, there's a small playground and farmhouse play area, which gave them another reason to burn off some energy after picking blueberries. The service was mostly friendly. The gentleman watering the flowers was incredibly kind and even gave us a bunch of flowers to take home. That was a really thoughtful gesture. Both the farm and the store were clean and well maintained. Overall, this was a fun family outing. Between the blueberry picking, the farm store, and the play area, it's easy to spend an hour to two here. We'd definitely come back.

Johnny's has been one of my favorite produce markets for years now. In the spring, before local…read moreproduce is ready, they sell vegetable and decorative plants. They continue to carry flower plants and herbs into the summer and fall. In July they begin to carry absolutely beautiful flower bouquets that are fresh cut every day. Since they're fresh, they last so much longer than ones from the grocery store. And they have such an interesting variety of flowers in them. They have become a summer staple for us! They sell tomatoes that they grow themselves that are absolutely delicious. I always grab some extra cherry (or grape?) tomatoes to snack on while driving home. They sell other produce that they grow themselves or get from other local farms. There are signs up telling you what town and state each product is from. They carry milk and yogurt from a local dairy farm, Smyth's Trinity Farm (Enfield, CT). The chocolate milk is heavenly. They also started stocking fresh bread from Hartford Baking Company. Johnny's has been great during Covid. The store has the doors open and fans running, providing plenty of ventilation. They require masks and social distancing. The employees are always wearing masks (and wearing them properly, covering nose and mouth) which makes me feel comfortable bringing my 1 year old, who cannot wear a mask, in with me.

So this Farmers market is between OK and Good so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I think if there were more vendors out here it would be great. Despite the fact that it's kinda small for a farmers market, I was surprised at the variety I saw. Macaroons, ice cream, coffee, produce, flowers, hungry ghost bread, candles, soaps, meats, eggs, hungry ghost bread, polish pastries, handmade jewelry, live music, hand spun wool yarn, did I mention hungry ghost bread? I repeated HGB because they had a line that wouldn't quit. They had 5 different kinds of breads available, plus a couple of cookies for sale. Their bread is the best, there honestly is nothing like it so try it out if they haven't sold out by the time you get there. They had a wheel you could spin for a chance to get discounted or free things and we won a $2 off coupon at the polish pastry tent. We got this savory donut thing (I totally forgot what it's called) filled with squash, potato, cabbage and cheese wow. It was really really good. Picked up some produce where they had a lot of heirloom varieties you definitely wouldn't find in a mass produced supermarket. I ended up getting some watermelon radishes, rainbow carrots, and these funky potatoes that are Ruby red when you cut them. They had some nice live music going as well. The ones I particularly patronize are Red Fire Farm (this being, from both its size and the number of its patrons, the market's star) and Hungry Ghost Bread. They often do have live music, and while it's crowded, well ... I'm a veteran of the Haymarket Friday/Saturday pushcarts in Boston, so "crowded" is a matter of perspective. Yes, the prices are as high as one can expect for fresh farm produce and boutique operations, but it isn't as if one can't go to Big Y or Stop & Shop to find poorer quality at a cheaper price. As it happens, they do take SNAP, and while most people on SNAP can't afford to blow their wad on a $6 pint of grape tomatoes or a $7 loaf of bread, the market will double up to $10 a week, which makes these things quite affordable. Last week I left with a pint of tomatoes, a loaf of bread, and a bunch of very tart chives. Finestkind!

Very nice indeed…read more Located on a long side street in the Central Business District of funky Northampton the Market specializes in the expected fruits and vegetables, but also had quite a selection of plants and flowers. The colors of the fresh vegetables was terrific- a photographers dream of orange and yellow tomatoes, purple eggplants, bright red and deep green peppers, plus the distinctive coloring of beets and carrots and sunflowers. I've seen some bigger markets, but really - if you're looking for fresh produce this should be more than enough for you to peruse. We picked up some zucchinis and a pint of "Chicken of the Woods" (not sure if its a wild mushroom or edible plant) from the Wild Edibles stand. This is my new favorite orchard in the valley…read more It's in a beautiful location on rolling hills, surrounded by quiet roads and beautiful trees. There were lots of butterflies and a few interesting birds of prey while I was last there. The orchard has rare varieties, including new and coveted strains - like Sweetango. They also have begun planting trees the european way, I believe it's 2000 trees/acre. The trees are smaller, denser and produce an amazing yield in less than half the time ... in all, very neat to compare to the old-type orchard trees (also on site). Great cider too, and helpful staff that are happy to provide more information about the Orchard.

I got to do a lot of taste testing while picking the berries too. Inside the little store are fresh blueberries and preserves for sale along with fresh baked blueberry pies.
