Love the atmosphere, pastries and mission of this spot: "inclusive coffee café employing people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities and demonstrates the possibilities in all of us." Their mission is imbued in their staff, products, how they set up their space, and how you order. We came here for breakfast on a weekday and had a lovely experience. They have breakfast and lunch cafe menus (+catering), yummy pastries (cookies, muffins and scones) and various coffees and drinks. We enjoyed the omelette (if you order more than 3 ingredients there's a charge) and the village breakfast which was eggs, potatoes (slightly blackened), sourdough toast (or wheat) and bacon. Prices are fairly standard ($11-14) and portions not very large. The panetonne, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip scones ($5 each) were all good and baked well. The honey latte and hot chocolate (most drinks are $4-8) were also very creamy and delicious, though slightly too sweet for our tastes (made it taste good though!) You order at the counter and then take a table and place a marker with nice words like "love" and then your food is brought to you. The actual space is very inviting, with lots of nooks and crannies (tables with chairs, couches, a fireplace). They also sell t-shirts ($30) and sweatshirts ($40-50?) which are pretty soft material, as well as ground coffee, cards, granola, etc. The other half of their space is their homemade pasta place so it's a unique layout and looked fun as well. There were plenty of customers cycling in and out, many sitting down with a warm drink and a pastry. Parking isn't huge but was not super super small but could be an issue if they got an influx of folks hanging out. Wouldn't blame them though because it's a comfortable place with free wifi. A fantastic business concept that makes way for hardworking individuals opening new opportunities and pride in one's Self. The service is spectacular and the servers smile earns an even greater smile in return. On one half of the open and airy space is Beanz and on the other side Pasta Co. Each works in unison. Seating is abundant with open and tucked away spots. Some limited outside seats as well. We have purchased breakfast items and devilishly delicious snacks and beverages. They provide job opportunities for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities; giving them a chance to gain skills and interact with the public. I really love this concept and acceptance! They serve breakfast and lunch; from sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta, baked goods, and of course, coffee! The space was nice and open. Ate again at Beanz for breakfast- brought friends each time- I had the Harvest breakfast bowl each time because it is so delicious-spinach, chopped sweet red peppers, apples, dried cranberries, sage, toasted pumpkin seeds and topped with one over easy egg. My friends had the cheddar scallion breakfast sandwich, with chicken sausage patty. The ambience is open, filled with light, seating is casual; everyone is friendly. This is a great coffee shop. There is a huge amount of space for hanging out, relaxing, meeting up with friends or working. Murphy areas in different rooms give you various options for what you're looking to do. They have delicious looking pastries. I tried one of the gluten free chocolate chip cookies and it was better than most other chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! The staff are really friendly and skilled. The coconut mocha is got was made just right too. I'm looking forward to going back to spend more time there. Plus their mission of inclusivity is inspiring and beautiful. Combined with pasta shop, you absolutely need to make it a stop on your next trip out of the house. What a cute coffee shop! It's soo big! It's actually combined with New England Pasta Company s we hice is nice. Very ample space with lots of seating. Decor is cute and is pretty busy! When I walked in I was like " boy ohh boy" this is heaven to Look at! lol everything looked so good! This was my first time there and I was meeting a friend so this was the place we both chose to try out! I got 2 GF scones. 1 to have there and 1 to go. I also had a GF breakfast sandwich which was pretty tasty along with a hot almond joy latte! My friend also had a tasty baked goody and an omelette with fruit which she enjoyed very much. The drinks lattes hot and cold are great! And so delicious! But the best part of this restaurant is the vision and mission of it's owners of Inclusion! EVERYONE BELONGS! They hire teens and adults with special abilities and neurotypical teens/adults to work together for work and social skill functions... The owners have also joined up with an organization Blue path service dogs to assist in funding a dog to a family with a child with autism for safety, companionship and independence. Beanz & Co is a coffee shop with a wonderful mission, they're employing the disabled within the community. Here, everyone belongs! It was my first time stopping by today. Upon walking inside I noticed it's a lot more specious than I expected. There's a few spots at the bar top at the window, along with a substantial amount of available seating throughout. They have a pretty large menu, of coffee, breakfast and lunch options. I got their Maple Vanilla Latte off of their specials menu. I requested they make my latte in a ceramic coffee cup, they had a whole bunch of them sitting on top of the coffee machine. The lady told me, she "can't do that because of covid" ?!?! Ok, why display them then? And I am certain they have a dishwasher. Paper cups are wasteful on the environment, and on the budget, especially since I am sitting inside. Anyway, she made me my Maple Vanilla Latte in a paper cup. I am sorry to say it really wasn't very good. It was filled with whipped cream and topped with cinnamon, that's delicious, however my latte was super watery for a latte. It was sweet, because of the syrups used, but as far as the base it was very weak. This is surprising since they claim to use Omar coffee, one of the best in CT. While I appreciate their mission, I was not impressed by my experience at Beanz & Co. read more

The food and the atmosphere here is very pleasant. The women who took my order was great and extremely helpful knowing it was my first time there. And the young lady that was preparing the coffee was an absolute delight to deal with. I highly recommend the pork sandwich. Although it was extremely messy, I would still get it, again and again. I didn't get any, but the pastries there looked mouthwatering as well, but cannot yet confirm whether they tasted as good as they looked. But I'm sure I will be able to update that soon. read more

I am equally comfortable with my 85 year old aunt, my sister after yoga, or a little group of friends. The team is skilled, polite, efficient and very friendly. But after reading about Beanz and watching the beautiful interactions between their staff and the general public, my soul was equally satisfied. They are "an inclusive coffee café" that "employ(s) an inclusive workforce because it enriches every life every day. And we're all the better for it". I am urging every single Yelper in the area to go there and support this amazing place that celebrates the dignity of all Human Beanz; and let their intellectual and developmental disabilities be damned. The slogan on their shirts, and prominently displayed on the wall simple reads "Everyone Belongs". We came in for coffees and a snack on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted by three of the sweetest young ladies you will ever meet. Polite, cheerful, engaging, friendly and just plain super nice. A coffee, chai, chocolate-cranberry scone, and a maple walnut scone ran around $13. The scones were terrific- fresh, soft, and full of flavor. As I sat and looked around I saw a lovely encounter between those three young ladies and a fourth carrying on a conversation in American Sign Language. That's the whole point of Beanz -its mission is to change the unemployment or underemployment of the disabled. If you have love and compassion in your heart, and believe in the dignity of all men and women, your soul will surely be satisfied by a trip to Beanz. read more

OMG! Do yourself a favor and immerse yourself into this bright, uplifting oasis! The food is PHENOMENAL. I had the breakfast bowl, which defaults to being served with two over easy eggs. I love Beanz's mission to promote equality and that everyone belongs, even those with a disability. This place really touches my heart because my aunt has Down's syndrome and it was so wonderful to see her being given a chance at her former employers Beanz & Co. has some amazing seasonal specials, including the pumpkin cream cold brew that I got absolutely delicious! And so was my turkey, bacon, pesto sandwich, just what I needed after running post-Christmas errands. They're also in the same building as New England Pasta Company, which has some of the best catered food around! If you're ever in the area, please consider giving them your business. The space is shared with a fantastic pasta/Italian food supply store, but they still have both a very cozy space for indoor seating and some outdoor tables as well. On a recent visit, they had teens performing live music which was really fun. The food is delicious. They serve breakfast and lunch. Lunch includes sandwiches, soups, pastry, pasta and more. The menu changes with the seasons, but if you see roasted butternut squash with baby spinach, get it! If you can't stay or need a quick dinner, there's coolers up front with prepared food. Came to Avon for a business trip and stumbled on this place. It didn't have very many reviews on Yelp, but it was pretty close and looked decent. When we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and lovely smells of baked goods (at least that's where my nose gravitated to!) Atmosphere - Very "home-y". The staff is so pleasant and patient with you. That's not something I'm used to in the north. It's a very casual place and adoringly simple. Customer service - The customer service was great! This restaurant does a great thing by hiring people with disabilities and I love seeing that! All of the staff here are so accommodating and they seem very genuine in making sure you enjoy your time there. One of the waiters on the floor even remembered what everyone ordered when he brought it over. Food - Yuuuum! I had to try the handmade pasta! I couldn't come here and get anything else. It was soooo good! You can totally tell it was handmade too, because it has a much lighter and cleaner taste than store bought pasta. The sauce was delightful!! The bread...YEEEEEES! The pastries - Omg. We got 6 pastries between the 3 of us. Each of them were amazing. The blueberry scone was really good. That was actually my favorite! Would I recommend? Absolutely!
