Ahhh the place is like an old world library where you can lounge for hours and not remember where you came from or where you're going next. Just so cozy. Situated in a beautiful Victorian home along Hopmeadow Street (Route 10). You can sit on the front porch and on the shaded lawn beneath stately trees. Just walk-in from the porch and enter an amazing foyer facing the main oak staircase. The left is a quiet reading space and to the right another sitting area. Straight back the kitchen and order counter. A variety of Danishes and fresh sandwiches, salads, and coffee, teas, and cool beverages. My favorite, an IBC Cream Soda on a hot day or a steaming hot coffee, which can be sweetened and creamed at the fixin' table in the foyer. Unique setting, a gourmet cafe in a frat house type setting. There are couches in a lounge area, chairs on the lawn and a very comfy homey feel. What makes it spectacular is their gourmet coffees and brewed teas! I had a peach iced latte and a cappuccino both which are made to order and simply delectable. More than just coffee: We haven't been here since this place opened and it seems to have blossomed since then, with the main draw being the relaxed atmosphere. A quaint cafe with breakfast sandwiches and things like avocado toast, light lunch items like sandwiches and soups, coffee and tea, and pastries (brownies, scones, muffins, pie, cookies). I've only tried some of their baked goods and hot drinks and they were fine. They kept the older house personality of the previous owner, with different rooms that have tables and chairs to hang out in. They also sell some clothing, coffee bags and other small gift items. Oh my goodness!! This place is ADORABLE! A cute old Victorian house turned coffeehouse? Sign me up! Quintessential New England! ALSO they have coffee flights, I was thrilled when I saw that. There is plenty of seating, I was easily able to secure a table and hunker down to enjoy my flight and do some work. The spice flight was great and every drink I had was delicious. I also got the breakfast sandwich which I highly recommend. Every employee I interacted with was so nice! I noticed this coffee shop when I parked nearby and made a point to visit when I was back in town for errands. The coffee shop is in a gorgeous old house. I want to call it a Victorian, but house styles are not my strength. LOL There are nice seating areas effectively in rooms of the house. I doubt there are many cooler locations for coffee in CT. But for me, at a coffee shop, coffee is the name of the game. My black iced coffee was a bit above of average. I didn't see bags of coffee for sale, which ordinarily means a coffee shop isn't using beans from a high end craft roaster. They have food, but I didn't get any. They have baked goods, breakfast, lunch, specials. Based upon what I saw of food that was displayed, I expect the food to be decent, but not spectacular. The Coffee Spot is a coffee shop located in a Victorian house, right in downtown Simsbury. It's in the same building as The Fiddlers Green; free parking can be found in the back lot or on street. They serve coffee, tea, baked goods, sandwiches, and soup. The baked goods are baked in house. The interior was lovely. There were many rooms, nooks, and crannies where you can sit, enjoy your coffee, and read a book. They had a bookshelf with many books to choose from. They also do custom cupcakes orders. Space can be rented out for events and they have events right on the lawn when the weather gets warmer. I had the iced caramel latte and it was good! In one sense, The Coffee Spot is a pure five stars simply for being dog-friendly and kid-friendly. And really, everything else here is quite good. I would highlight the breakfast sandwiches for being quite tasty, and I've been spying the loaded avocado toast. The rapscallion bagel has a healthy dollop of scallion cream cheese that goes quite well with the tomato, bacon and onions. Oddly, I haven't really found my coffee choice here but I will say that I really enjoyed a chocolate chai on one of my last visits. The Coffee Spot workers are always friendly, and the inside is quite charming. They have a few books that one can peruse with quite a few books for children. While there is music as well, it's not overpowering and I've found it a nice place to conduct some remote work. I'd say I'm fairly regular at this coffeeshop, and I don't really see a need to change that. read more

Adorable spot in a quaint old house! There's a ton of indoor and outdoor space to sit in. Inside is divided up into four or five rooms, so it's got a cozy feel. I got the chicken Caesar salad, which was your standard one that you'd find anywhere. A bit pricey, but it was fine. We got the latte flight and it was fun to try. They were all too sweet for us, but it's essentially just different syrups in each, so it's more of a dessert drink. Husband also got a scone. They also have lots of bakery items to choose from, including gluten-free pastries and desserts. It was a pleasant time and I would go back, but I'd probably skip the salad. read more

I was in Simsbury for a wedding and The Coffee Spot was within an easy stroll from my hotel. In my opinion, this is what a coffee shop should be. Not only was the coffee and breakfast sandwich good, the ambiance was cozy and welcoming. The Coffee Spot is located in a vintage house and they've kept the original floor plan. There was the original kitchen where you ordered your coffee, pastries or a breakfast sandwich. Then rooms to the front, were set up for reading or doing computer work. The restroom was gender friendly. I enjoyed a medium drip coffee and a Breakfast Sandwich. My sammie was made on a toasted Everything Bagel with egg, bacon and cheddar cheese. While I enjoyed my breakfast, I took advantage of their free Wi-Fi and answered a few e-mails. If I lived in Simsbury, I definitely would be a regular here. We chanced The Coffee Spot for the first time on a Sunday morning. What a delightful, if busy, choice. So many positives: delicious food--we had a wrap and an egg sandwich and 2 muffins--blueberry and caramel--YUM. There was a pleasant guitarist/singer, and we did find a table--actually 2 comfy chairs with a side table between. Most likely the place isn't as hoppin' on other days, but the entertainment and crowd added a nice vibe. We were served after ordering at the counter, and no one needed a pager or some other elaborate finder system. They just do the job and it was a lot of fun. We were thrilled that The Coffee Spot does NOT use Canola oil. Not a big fan of corn oil, which is what they say they use, but way better than having Round Up and Hexane residues in our food with Canola. read more

A slew of friendly, smiling, super helpful crew members took our breakfast order, discussed bread options, answered our questions, brought out our food and were all fantastic to interact with. The interior of the café is gorgeous! What a collection of customer spaces to sit and gab, or eat and drink, or work away on your laptop like we saw one gent studiously doing today. Check out the back room with the beautifully painted mural of Simsbury attractions, like the Flower Bridge and Heublein Tower. The coffee was great. We went old school and just had their house blend but it was stellar. For me, the weak link was the food. I ordered an Avocado Toast with Egg, my wife ordered a Bacon and Egg on a bagel, and we went halfsies on the orders. I had issues with the eggs, more so on the bagel sandwich than the Avocado Toast. It seemed to be a big slightly over-microwaved slab that simply wasn't very good. I took a few bites of the egg and called it quits. Maybe next time we'll swap out our breakfast sandwiches for some of the yummy looking scones or muffins. read more

I always make it a point to visit this coffee shop whenever I'm in Simsbury visiting my sister. Their scones are amazing--always fresh, with unique and delicious flavors that keep me coming back for more. They also make fantastic cookies, both regular and vegan. The oatmeal raisin is my personal favorite! And of course, their coffee is excellent. I usually get a cappuccino, which is always perfectly made. While in Simsbury yesterday morning, I decided to stop by The Coffee Spot for some breakfast. This is a 1896 house turned coffee shop, with much of the original interior still intact. It has so much charm, with its original squeaky hardwood floors and its stained glass windows on the front door. They have two rooms, for guests to sit with coffee or breakfast. There are books that you can take if you leave them one. It's such a beautiful and inviting space. They have a pretty large breakfast menu. I got avocado toast with tomato on rye bread. I also got a coffee. They sell a variety of little knickknacks made by local artists, like greeting cards, candles and stickers. My coffee was ready pretty quickly, I waited a few minutes for them to bring me my avocado toast. I sat down in the room with a large window and a Christmas Tree. My avocado toast was pretty tasty. I got two generous slices of rye bread, with an even spreading of avocado, the tomato pieces were tiny. It was all seasoned with pepper. My coffee wasn't very good, it was very watery, and had almost no taste. Maybe I should have picked something different. This is a lovely spot for a breakfast in town, it's very calm and I love the beautiful house. I'll be back here for sure. read more

The restaurant itself was very charming in that it is in a former house and each room is a different type of sitting area. The coffee choices were plentiful and I opted for a black light roast. The coffee hit the spot, no pun intended, and was flavorful and not too bitter. The avocado toast was visually appeasing and had plenty of avocado and eggs. The wheat toast was perfect. My small complaint is that the amount of salt overwhelmed the taste of everything else and I love salt but it was a bit much. The bacon was the perfect crispness!
