This Starbucks is located in the Simsburytown shops plaza. There were plenty of parking when we went but the parking lot is a little tight. It's located across from the Popover Eatery. As with any Starbucks order, I placed the order via the app beforehand; this way I can get points and the drinks are usually ready when I walk in. I think this particular cafe was very cute and cozy. There were some seating and I loved the fireplace and old historic plaque. I am assuming it's housed in a historic building. The employees were friendly and the drinks were tasty. I decided on their seasonal pistachio latte. The pickup area was located to the right of the counter. Overall, a nice Starbucks with tasty drinks. read more

Shock and the headache I have today prevented me from putting up a fuss. I have worked retail in my past and hate the "Can I speak to your manager?" Lines. Friendly staff. However I ordered a grande Strawberry Accai Lemonade with light ice, and I was the most displeased that I have ever been unfortunately. When I picked up the order, there were no strawberries in it, and I did not ask for no strawberries, so I am not sure why they didn't add the strawberries, because otherwise it is a $5 sugar water drink. Secondly, there was more ice in the cup than the drink itself, which is the exact opposite of what I ordered, which was light ice. I came in this past Saturday to grab a latte and breakfast sandwich. It was beyond busy, the line was literally out the door. Still chose to wait in line, as I wasn't in a rush. When I got to the register, the employee taking orders (I think his name was Danny) took several minutes to acknowledge me and then was very rude while taking my order. Asking "What do you want" without a Hi, how's it going, etc. It seemed like he couldn't have cared less, and showed that to customers. Other customers got the same treatment. Not a good look for someone in customer service. Had a great interaction with an employee making drinks named Jen. She apologized for the delay, asked how I was doing, and made sure my caramel latte and bacon gouda got to me as fast as possible. read more

One of the worst STBX I've ever been too. My app order was 20 min late. 2 out of my 3 bacon Gouda sandwiches were done. A girl came over, fidgeted with my food and said "she's working on your other". Over the next 10 min two other girls came over and fidgeted with my food but don't say a word to me. Finally, after being there for 15 min (25 min after time for pickup) a girl tells me they're out of bacon Gouda and would I like something else. Are you serious? It would be a five star review for the friendly, fast service I normally get here. But, Marlene just took it down many notches for her negative-stars attitude. I dared interrupt Marlene getting together a large order for the people in front of me to kindly ask if she could ring up the two pre-made items I was adding to my already-prepared order waiting in pick-up. To which, she barked "NO! YOU have to wait like everyone else!" A simple "I'll be with you in a minute" would have sufficed. And if that wasn't enough, she then made it a point to leave the register section and come down to pick-up to tell every customer who was not me "Thank you for being patient. We love our kind customers who don't mind waiting," while she smirked my way. WTH, Marlene. Let me add there were four other baristas getting together orders, and it was not busy when I went in. I'm not normally rushed but my dog just had surgery and I was eager to get back to my family and dog. Which has no bearing here except, you never know why customers are rushed enough to ask for a kindness, but it's part of customer service to be kind to everyone, regardless. This is decidedly a *small* Starbucks (Not sure how Joshua F. finds it to be large when there's only 3 tables and a few comfy chairs). No matter though, I actually like the cozy environment; if there's an open seat, you'll be in the perfect place to perk up, relax, or study. Barista was very nice, and got our drinks quick. My iced mocha was great, while my girlfriend thought her latte tasted more like a cafe au lait... Sigh... first world problems... This location is really hit or miss. It's clean, the building is nice, and the staff is usually pretty friendly, but unfortunately many employees are not familiar enough with the menu items. Countless times they have either not understood what I'm talking about when I order something using it's name from the menu or made it completely wrong. The confusion seems to be especially around cold foam drinks, like the salted cream cold foam cold brew (which unfortunately is my favorite) and other new-ish items involving cold brew. There are two people there (the two guys, Tori and someone else) who always know exactly what each drink is supposed to be, but with other staff members I'm never sure that I'll be getting the right order. I was told I was wrong and to be patient 3 times and no one would listen to me that my sandwich wasn't being made. And once it was finally made, it was grouped with 4 other orders. If an order is messed up, you go out of your way to get the customer the sandwich ASAP, not at your convenience so you only have to walk 15 feet across the way to the counter once. As far as Starbucks goes, this is certainly not a bad one. The store is a decent size with (usually) enough seating. In nicer weather one can sit right outside the front and enjoy one's purchase. The fireplace inside adds a bit of class. It's a decent spot to sit for a few minutes with a friend and caffeinate. The Starbucks sign can be seen from the road so you're not likely to blunder past if that's your destination. When I visit this Starbucks the staff are always friendly and attentive. There are only two issues I've seen with the Simsbury Starbucks. The first being, some customers will head towards the exit when they enter the store because they are accustomed to the old layout and they cause confusion. Placing arrows on the ground may resolve this issue. The second issue involves the parking lot. On some occasions the parking lot will be completely full and navigating around it can be annoying when you're trying to find a parking spot due to the small size of the parking lot. Aside from that, the recent store remodel looks modern and has a welcoming feeling to it. The drinks in my experience have always been made correctly and served in a timely manner. Overall this is my favorite Starbucks to visit when I have free time. I would recommend the Simsbury store to anyone. read more

Great staff, great location, great atmosphere... and unimaginably poorly managed. Constantly runs out of supplies and condiments, as well as other product, and the heavy turnover in staff speaks also to poor in-house management. One example: the recent renovation failed to include a proper electrical outlet for the Clover. Competent management, invested more in the store, employees, and customers than in bicycling, is long overdue. read more
