Steak and eggs. 16 oz ice coffee.

I so want this business to succeed. That said, let's move to the experience here. I was pleasantly greeted by the staff and my order taken quickly and efficiently. My coffee came quickly, which I enjoyed a great deal until my food arrived. I had ordered steak and eggs, which included some home fries and one slice of toast. The steak was adorned with a chimichurri sauce. I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to beef, I think it should be able to stand well on its own without any condiments accompanying it. This was not one of those occasions, though the chimichurri sauce was too much for what was a fairly thin piece of some kind of steak. The scrambled eggs were a bit sparse and a tad overcooked. The home fries were quite good with a bit of crunch and a soft warm center. The toast was, well it was toast. Steak and eggs and an ice coffee came to around $23. This was a good idea not well executed.

A new Peruvian cafe in Simsbury! It's located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. There was a patio area and a handful of tables inside. I love the cute and pink theme. I am a fan of cafes and bakeries so I had to check this place out. On this visit, I tried out their iced lucuma latte, lucuma mousse cake, beef empanada, and it was so good. I could eat 20 of those empanadas! It's lightly sweet and savory. Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit which tastes like sweet potato and caramel. First time trying and I am in love. My son enjoyed their flourless brownie, my husband loved the chicken empanadas and black coffee. Side note: I did order another pastry and was charged for it but they forgot to put it in my bag, I understand, they are working on their kinks as a new business. I'll look at it as their tip lol. The employee was friendly. Overall, I'm glad to have this cafe near me and I'll be back for more drinks and EMPANADAS!

Made by Pam is a brand new Peruvian bakery and coffee shop in Simsbury. They have a very cute outdoor seating area, complete with a cozy couch, shaded umbrellas and surrounded by flowers. The inside walls are pink, they have some Peruvian baked goods and cookies behind the glass. There are some seating options available inside. I was very curious in their Lacuma Latte. The Lacuma Latte is a Peruvian specialty. I got it iced, it was pricey at $8.00. I also got the Pistachio Alfajor. They had several people working, the wait for the latte was very slow moving. The Pistachio Alfajar is a pistachio shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche and pistachio filling. For a single $6 cookie, I expected much better. For starters, this cookie was super dry, it was also very crumbly. The center filling was not impressive. This was a below average cookie, for an above average price. The Lacuma Latte was very tasty. Easily worth the wait. This is a unique blend of earthy, sweet, and light caramel flavors. I really enjoyed it! Made By Pam are pricy, but worth checking out.

It's wonderful to see a new Peruvian bakery owned by a lovely mother and daughter. There's a great seating area outside to relax and enjoy your treats. We tried their cookies, and they were absolutely delicious - not too sweet, with a beautiful pistachio puree filling inside. The breakfast menu looked amazing too, so we're already planning to come back for brunch. The owner was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend checking them out!

Amazing adorable and yummy. I ordered the avocado bagel and my partner got the morning wrap. The potatoes are delicious, the bagel is so good, and the drinks are delightful. The plating and decor is so cute and pink, perfect for brunch.

Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

I had the scallops with risotto which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Hats off to anyone who can cook a risotto well and they do it perfectly. I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. Our server, Chris, produced menus and took drink orders. Although I am a big fan of housemade corned beef hash (and Drago's is exceptional), I was intrigued by one of the numerous specials, "The Pastor" Benny. It consisted of two separate towers of sausage patty on the bottom, then potato pancake, with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top...and several spices. It was amazing, like a tsunami hitting my taste buds. The potato concoction was perfect, as were the poached eggs. Two of my friends had Granby Oaks, and the 3rd had several ala carte items. All of us were members of the clean plate club. Chris was excellent and efficient, and kept us well-caffeinated. Overall, great food and service, and reasonable prices. One caution...if you come on weekends, probably call in advance to see if they take reservations. They get crowded. 5 pastor benny stars

My wife and I were headed in that general direction on an early Saturday morning and this was the spot I picked. I will say, going in, I knew that breakfast may take some time and that Drago's isn't what I'd call, "diner-quick." That was ok with me because I had time to kill before a loose 9am appointment. It took a bit for us to be acknowledged and seated but I was ok with that. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and though I knew what I was going to order before I even left the house, the specials she rattled off all sounded great. I am obsessed with biscuits and sausage gravy and knew it was on the menu. It's not only on the menu but the staff's shirts all mention the biscuit. DAMN that is a good biscuit. It's a HUGE cheddar and chive biscuit (big enough for a sandwich). Paired with the sausage gravy and my perfect over-medium eggs it was a wonderful meal. My wife had the French Dip benny which she liked but would not order again. She felt the roast beef was a little tough. Hers came with a "loaded potato cake" which was insanely delicious. It's about the size of a crab cake, made with shredded potatoes and was so, so good. Of note-reasonable prices, many vegan, vegetarian and GF options (including vegan meats and cheese). The lunch menu looks really tasty too. I will be back (and I will get both a biscuit and a loaded potato cake to go, in addition to another great meal).

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.
