"Well, you should see Polythene Pam She's the kind of a girl that makes the "News of the World" Yes, you could say she was attractively built" (Lennon & McCartney) Baked by Pam is a very sweet Peruvian Bakery, coffee shop, and luncheonette run by a mother and daughter team from Lima. How cool is that? You'll find it in the Antonio's Plaza on Hopmeadow Street in the space previously occupied by Lox Stock and Bagel, a Dunkin, and a Lion's Den coffee shop. The interior is very pretty with a white and pink color scheme, but what really grabs your attention are the tantalizing bakery treats in their showcase - cake slices, Dulche de Leche rolls, and wonderful Peruvian cookie/pastries known as Alfajores. Pam also serves up breakfast with avocado toasts, bagels wraps, egg sandwiches, and heartier fare like waffles, empanadas, steak and eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles. Add in their deep line of coffees and teas, and you have the makings of a wonderful experience here, like we did. We had a very nice lunch here yesterday and ordered a spinach empanada and a beef empanada for me, and a Lucuma Chocolate Chip Waffle ($11.50). My empanadas ($6 each) were wonderful. They are homemade every single day by Pam herself and were flaky, tender, and really loaded with fillings. The beef empanada was my favorite; the delicately spiced ground beef was delicious. The full-sized circular waffle was a work of art, garnished with strawberries, Nutella, chocolate shavings and bordered by a pillow of golden whipped cream flavored by Lucuma, a sweet yellowish South American fruit. When Pam's daughter Danitza brought out our foods, she gave us a complimentary Nutella Alfajor - a yummy, filled shortbread cookie. Ours was so terrific, we ordered two of them to go -a Classic and a Pistachio. When we arrived home, we saw a third small Alfajor was tossed into the box as another freebie. We really fell in love with Baked by Pam! The delicious pastries, the breakfast and brunch menu, the pretty interior, and the wonderful service -everything was stellar.

I so want this business to succeed. That said, let's move to the experience here. I was pleasantly greeted by the staff and my order taken quickly and efficiently. My coffee came quickly, which I enjoyed a great deal until my food arrived. I had ordered steak and eggs, which included some home fries and one slice of toast. The steak was adorned with a chimichurri sauce. I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to beef, I think it should be able to stand well on its own without any condiments accompanying it. This was not one of those occasions, though the chimichurri sauce was too much for what was a fairly thin piece of some kind of steak. The scrambled eggs were a bit sparse and a tad overcooked. The home fries were quite good with a bit of crunch and a soft warm center. The toast was, well it was toast. Steak and eggs and an ice coffee came to around $23. This was a good idea not well executed.

A new Peruvian cafe in Simsbury! It's located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. There was a patio area and a handful of tables inside. I love the cute and pink theme. I am a fan of cafes and bakeries so I had to check this place out. On this visit, I tried out their iced lucuma latte, lucuma mousse cake, beef empanada, and it was so good. I could eat 20 of those empanadas! It's lightly sweet and savory. Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit which tastes like sweet potato and caramel. First time trying and I am in love. My son enjoyed their flourless brownie, my husband loved the chicken empanadas and black coffee. Side note: I did order another pastry and was charged for it but they forgot to put it in my bag, I understand, they are working on their kinks as a new business. I'll look at it as their tip lol. The employee was friendly. Overall, I'm glad to have this cafe near me and I'll be back for more drinks and EMPANADAS!

Made by Pam is a brand new Peruvian bakery and coffee shop in Simsbury. They have a very cute outdoor seating area, complete with a cozy couch, shaded umbrellas and surrounded by flowers. The inside walls are pink, they have some Peruvian baked goods and cookies behind the glass. There are some seating options available inside. I was very curious in their Lacuma Latte. The Lacuma Latte is a Peruvian specialty. I got it iced, it was pricey at $8.00. I also got the Pistachio Alfajor. They had several people working, the wait for the latte was very slow moving. The Pistachio Alfajar is a pistachio shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche and pistachio filling. For a single $6 cookie, I expected much better. For starters, this cookie was super dry, it was also very crumbly. The center filling was not impressive. This was a below average cookie, for an above average price. The Lacuma Latte was very tasty. Easily worth the wait. This is a unique blend of earthy, sweet, and light caramel flavors. I really enjoyed it! Made By Pam are pricy, but worth checking out.

It's wonderful to see a new Peruvian bakery owned by a lovely mother and daughter. There's a great seating area outside to relax and enjoy your treats. We tried their cookies, and they were absolutely delicious - not too sweet, with a beautiful pistachio puree filling inside. The breakfast menu looked amazing too, so we're already planning to come back for brunch. The owner was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend checking them out!

Amazing adorable and yummy. I ordered the avocado bagel and my partner got the morning wrap. The potatoes are delicious, the bagel is so good, and the drinks are delightful. The plating and decor is so cute and pink, perfect for brunch.

Their summer menu feels so creative and unique. It made me want to return regularly to check out what else they have come up with. It's a scallion pancake and it is stuffed with sausage and eggs. It is so delicious and satisfying. It comes with a side of sweet potato fries, and of course my daughter loved that. Also I wanted to shout out the waiters, who are really nice and attentive! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that they don't have pastries! I wonder why. It would really hit the spot in a cafe like this, especially with their coffee.

The grounds, the old millwork setting, ambience and views just feel comfortable while still upscale. I prefer the main dining area to the tavern or covered walkway because you get a glimpse of the kitchen that consistently generates fabulous food with seasonal ingredients and re-imagined classics. Tyler Anderson is back in charge these days and his food is just really good Trusting in him we did the five course menu tour: local oysters with mignonette; cornbread with sesame butter; then one of those classics that has been played with a bit: tapioca pearls prepared to channel clam chowder with bits of bacon and herb! The next jawdropper was frozen shaved foie gras over a strawberry cream compote with pumpkin seed granola. The entrees (you get both) were monkfish schnitzel with a pickle and potato salad and seared strip with potato galette and cioppolina onion. Dessert was a panna cotta with strawberry and angel food crumble All of these were delicious and unique in there on way. Our table relished and discussed every course in an a way that was fun and social. The food made sing and think! The only knock was this: the menu had some redundancies with strawberries and soft textures: the tapioca, foie gras dish, and panna cotta were delish, we could have done without three dishes for people who can't still chew! Service was very pleasant but painfully soft spoken and could benefit from some more fine dining polish. These are minor quibbles. Two weeks later and we are still telling everyone we know what a terrific meal we had... This is a must go restaurant

Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

I had the scallops with risotto which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Hats off to anyone who can cook a risotto well and they do it perfectly. I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. The bill came to $317 and with a $60 tip for outstanding service and a wonderful Mother's Day meal

I ordered Lou's rigatoni and was extremely happy with this dish. My mother ordered the shrimp fettuccini but with rigatoni and was also very happy. It had an impressive amount of shrimp in it. My father ordered the roasted chicken dinner, and while he did enjoy it, he was disappointed in the portion size. I have to agree with him, they must've have used very young chickens this time. That all said, our waitress was amazing (I'm so sad I forgot her name, because I would definitely ask for her in the future). We were seated in the older are of the restaurant, in the front room with the windows and it was beautifully decorated with a few small Christmas trees . A side note I was told Abigail's had a very nice happy hour upstairs (love that historic & charming area of the restaurant), 3-6pm.. i don't remember the days, i think Wednesdays through Saturday? And my parents told me you can get their amazing burgers for $7, which is a huge savings. I hope Abigail's continues to offers specials for those of us who live locally and usually are regulars. I'm going to continue to patronize Abigail's ~ I've been coming here since I was a child so it holds may feel good memories for me. This is a great place to celebrate special occasions or for a special date.

I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich on an everything bagel, that included homemade sausage, two over easy eggs and cheese, with their homemade hot sauce on the side, to go. I also ordered a regular coffee The place was jammed packed, with a super positive buzz, as I could see very happy customers, and the staff looked like they were pleased to be serving! I received my order rather quickly, in a little bit over 10 minutes. Considering the restaurant was super busy, I could tell the back of the restaurant had their act together, and the total process of this restaurant was really well organized. At eight dollars for this perfectly toasted everything bagel, with homemade sausage with a little kick, two eggs cooked perfectly over easy, along with this cheese that just melted in my mouth, I was sent into heavenly Bliss. The explosion of the different flavors was perfection. The homemade hot sauce was delicious , it was like Tabasco sauce on steroids. Drago's you need to bottle this and sell it! The coffee was fresh, lovingly made on the strong side with half-and-half, and no sugar. This coffee was on point! The treatment to me by the staff was second to none.
