IRISH QUESADILLA: Only I ordered lightly fried eggs with their "spectacular home fries. Don't miss this.
    Foodie K.

We were on vacation from Naples, Florida seeing family and friends in 5 states. driving on the back roads from Massachusetts to Rhode Island last Sunday morning 5/6. Let me tell you, while making a turn, quickly noticed the place and stopped. Saw the lighted OPEN sign. THE place is GREAT. A local fave I assume. The waitress was so very nice and personable. The whole time there felt great. Only 5 others there and us. The server and the few people we eventually met there were so nice. BTW, Have a great ending to this story but for now, ordered the IRISH QUESADILLA and my wife had an Omelette. (no picture of omelette sorry) but trust me, whichever one you get, you'll enjoy. I wanted lightly fried eggs and home fries instead of the scrambled and fries listed on the menu. Am I glad. The eggs were great and the home fries SPECTACULAR. I love corned beef hash and having it in a quesadilla this first time was exactly how I'd like it but may never see unless I asked for it and I will here in Florida. Didn't want this meal to end. My wife liked her omelette a lot also with those home fries and agreed. Perfect! And a bottomless cup of great coffee. We occasionally talked the three people who were seated near us and talked about everything. Laughed mostly and it was quite enjoyable. After their meals, they left and we then had just asked for our check. The waitress said it's been taken care of! What?? I ran out and hoped I'd see them and thank them. I did and they were just getting in their SUV. I thank them and for their company also. What they did we also did in Florida. It's called "Pay Forward". Wasn't familiar with it. A few years ago someone here in Naples bought US a breakfast and wanted to remain anonymous. Wow! What a treat. We looked the restaurant and thanked them loudly. The following year we anonymously paid this couples check. We're seniors and most people in our breakfast place were. We paid their check before it ended. (Ahead of time before they got it) also the tip. It felt good on both sides of this. Do it at least once and you'll feel good about it. And if ever in Windsor, CT. and driving aimlessly, put this address in your phone. You won't be disappointed. EnJOY!

The pancakes, flapjacks or hot cakes these were the size of a dinner plate. You order by one, two or three etc. huge delicious and filling. Tasted like they had some corn flour in them. The omelette was large and filled full of meat cheese. This was the meat lovers omelet. Great flavors. The breakfast potatoes were filled With spices and tender. This place is inexpensive, it is family owned. The waitress is friendly and full of life. Small restaurant about 11 tables and they have take out. Support your mom and pop restaurants you won't be sorry. They love what they do and you support the community.

Dying of hunger this morning, we decided to pop over to Mahaney's for breakfast on the go. In the past, we heard about them through a friend that ordered their breakfast sandwiches for her teachers every summer school. We were around the corner and ordered 2 eggs over easy-specifying a runny yolk with the corned beef hash and wheat toast. Within 10 min, we arrived, just as the order was being bagged. The woman at the counter was very friendly and packed the box just fine. We headed out to the car and decided to eat in the parking lot as the smell of the food told us we couldn't put it off any longer. Everything looked great, but when we cut into the eggs, they were not runny at all. And for us, that's key. The corned beef hash had a bit of a different taste to it. Not bad. But not great. It tasted dark if that means anything. Not burnt, but something. The food was piping hot. The home fries were fine. That's it in a nutshell.

French toast with bacon and eggs - A breakfast meal on a white plate includes two slices of French toast with a golden-brown exterior, a fried egg with a runny yolk, several strips of crispy bacon, and a small portion of butter. The plate is placed on a table with a paper placemat and a fork resting on the side. The background shows a menu and condiments.

Was on a road trip for work wanted breakfast pulled up to this spot nice and quite only two people there but service was great. I gather French toast eggs and bacon. The bacon was perfect had 3 orders.

    Egg white harvest omelette

I stopped in here for breakfast after seeing the great reviews and retuning home from the airport. The parking lot expanded to the back so I didn't have any trouble finding a spot, and saw the place easily from the road. Right when you walk in you are in a little take out section and greeted by the folks behind the counter. You walk back to the tables for sit in breakfast. The servers were all friendly and quick to take orders. There was also a pretty good sized menu for breakfast and lunch. I got the harvest omelette with egg whites and was happy at how big it was! I could have used a bit more salt on it and the home fries but overall it was delicious. I recommend a visit.

Great food and great prices, always going for the raspberry pancakes! The ambiance is very drab, but the food and service make up for it.

The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy

On April 11, I rushed my family off the plane in order to get to these guys to grab a quick-but-tasty dinner before embarking on the remaining two hours of our long day of travel back to Westport. We arrived at 7:30 PM, 30 minutes before closing. Unfortunately, rather than having great pizza, great fried chicken, and an amazing grinder, we were instead served what felt more like the food that comes off of a gas station countertop diner than it did a restaurant that has WOW'd me in the past with they're fantastic food and friendly service. The greeting we received when we walked in; even though it was 30 minutes before closing, was less than enthusiastic to see us... it was clear right off the bat that everybody behind the counter was far more concerned about having their key in the front door at 7:59 then they were delivering great food and service. The grinder was OK. The fried chicken was pliable, but a couple of the pieces we ordered were dried out and shriveled up from sitting too long. The slices of pizza that we ordered, the guy didn't even bother, warming them up. Just pulled them out of the pizza slice case and threw them into a box... either that or if he did attempt to warm them up, they must've already turned the ovens off, and they threw it into a cold oven. A word of advice for the management of this restaurant, if you want to be out the door by 8 PM, close your restaurant at 7 PM so nobody comes in and bothers you all while you're trying to clean. To be fair, if you're thinking about this restaurant as a great stop for lunch, I would still recommend it as the food is ordinarily pretty good (and fresh at that time ) I've eaten here several times and I've never been disappointed.

The staff is friendly (and patient too). We'd never eaten here before, so it took us a few minutes to try to make up our minds what to order. I ordered the "Italian" grinder (Half grinder) with everything (except mayonnaise) heated a little, and I had them add sliced pickle. Pickles cost extra, not sure why. This amazing delicious Italian grinder is literally the best Italian grinder I've ever had from any deli or restaurant! It was at least 4 inches tall, filled with lots of ham, Capicola, and Genoa, shaved lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomato, onions, peppers, and I had them add a little EVOO. I ate the whole thing (which actually was too much for me to eat at one meal, I would have been full with 1/4 of a grinder, instead of the 1/2 grinder, and I didn't eat any side dishes.) It was that amazing, I ate until I was very stuffed. My husband said his (Half) Pepperoni grinder was not nearly as good. It had pepperoni slices and cheese, that's it. He asked for lettuce, but they either didn't hear him ask for lettuce or forgot to put it on. He got it heated. I suggested that he get some sauce or something on it, but he didn't. He said next time, he'll definitely order something different. The grinders are a bit pricey (mine was $13.99 plus 75 cents for pickles, plus tax), so about $15.00 total for a half grinder; however, keep in mind the name of the restaurant, H&M Pizza & GIANT Grinders, and they live up to that name, and they are well worth the cost! I don't know whether or not they will let you order just a quarter of a grinder or not. If not, you can always save the other half for another meal. I want to try a different type of grinder the next time we eat here, and I sure hope that all the others are as terrific as the "Italian". We live 45 minutes away, but it's well worth the drive.

I ordered a 1/2 Reuben sub, 10 wings, and an order of fries--total came to $34+ before tip (I tipped 20%). Waited over 45 minutes, which was already frustrating. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. The wings were overcooked--dry, tough, and lacked flavor. The Reuben was even more disappointing. The corned beef tasted bland and processed, almost like it had been frozen for too long and reheated. There was an overwhelming amount of meat but barely any sauerkraut or Swiss cheese, making the sandwich very unbalanced and not enjoyable. I grew up working in my family's restaurant, and one thing my dad always emphasized: it takes a long time to earn a customer, but only a second to lose one. I hope you take this feedback seriously and improve.
