After stopping at the car wash for my weekly routine, I saw Drago's located right across the street just off of Hopmeadow on the Granby Simsbury line and decided to try it after reading the yelp reviews Walked into this newer breakfast spot, and I could see why it is becoming a local favorite. I loved the excitement from the guests and the staff. This is a happy place! I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich on an everything bagel, that included homemade sausage, two over easy eggs and cheese, with their homemade hot sauce on the side, to go. I also ordered a regular coffee The place was jammed packed, with a super positive buzz, as I could see very happy customers, and the staff looked like they were pleased to be serving! I received my order rather quickly, in a little bit over 10 minutes. Considering the restaurant was super busy, I could tell the back of the restaurant had their act together, and the total process of this restaurant was really well organized. At eight dollars for this perfectly toasted everything bagel, with homemade sausage with a little kick, two eggs cooked perfectly over easy, along with this cheese that just melted in my mouth, I was sent into heavenly Bliss. The explosion of the different flavors was perfection. The homemade hot sauce was delicious , it was like Tabasco sauce on steroids. Drago's you need to bottle this and sell it! The coffee was fresh, lovingly made on the strong side with half-and-half, and no sugar. This coffee was on point! The treatment to me by the staff was second to none. I just really really appreciate the service and the product. Will I be back? Heck if I could, I would move in! I can see why residents of both Granby and Simsbury are making this not only the local hotspot but a staple in the community Parking is a breeze out front. Keep in mind Dunkin' Donuts sandwiches are six dollars a pop for nothing special; for two dollars more I got this amazing sandwich twice the size, on a lovingly made, toasted to perfection bagel, homemade sausage, and an amazing cheese like I've never had before, and this kick butt hot sauce to top it off! We checked this place out at probably the busiest time to go, Sunday morning. Despite that, we were in and out in under an hour. The servers were friendly and quick, and the decor is very rustic and clean. Good sized tables and chairs. It took us maybe no more than 5 minutes to get seated, not a big deal. As for the food, I cannot recommend that chicken and biscuit sandwich more!! The chicken was so tender and crispy, and it paired perfectly with the biscuit, the sauce, and the egg. I will say, it said on the menu it would be an over easy egg but I think it was more medium, but honestly it was SO DELICIOUS it really didn't matter. We also tried a BYO omelet and that was good! I think the broccoli was cooked very well, nothing felt raw in the omelet. I might have liked a smidge more cheese to help it all hold together, but again, not a big deal!! Similar to almost two years ago, after attending morning Mass nearby, four of us stopped in for breakfast. Busy for a Monday morning, but then good food always attracts a crowd. Our server, Chris, produced menus and took drink orders. Although I am a big fan of housemade corned beef hash (and Drago's is exceptional), I was intrigued by one of the numerous specials, "The Pastor" Benny. It consisted of two separate towers of sausage patty on the bottom, then potato pancake, with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top...and several spices. It was amazing, like a tsunami hitting my taste buds. The potato concoction was perfect, as were the poached eggs. Two of my friends had Granby Oaks, and the 3rd had several ala carte items. All of us were members of the clean plate club. Chris was excellent and efficient, and kept us well-caffeinated. Overall, great food and service, and reasonable prices. Yet again, fellow Yelper and breakfast lover, Rich B has found me another gem. Drago's kitchen in Granby has some great food. My wife and I were headed in that general direction on an early Saturday morning and this was the spot I picked. I will say, going in, I knew that breakfast may take some time and that Drago's isn't what I'd call, "diner-quick." That was ok with me because I had time to kill before a loose 9am appointment. It took a bit for us to be acknowledged and seated but I was ok with that. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and though I knew what I was going to order before I even left the house, the specials she rattled off all sounded great. I am obsessed with biscuits and sausage gravy and knew it was on the menu. It's not only on the menu but the staff's shirts all mention the biscuit. DAMN that is a good biscuit. It's a HUGE cheddar and chive biscuit (big enough for a sandwich). Paired with the sausage gravy and my perfect over-medium eggs it was a wonderful meal. My wife had the French Dip benny which she liked but would not order again. She felt the roast beef was a little tough. Hers came with a "loaded potato cake" which was insanely delicious. It's about the size of a crab cake, made with shredded potatoes and was so, so good. Of note-reasonable prices, many vegan, vegetarian and GF options (including vegan meats and cheese). As for the beverages I'm boring since I don't drink coffee; I got half orange juice mix with cranberry juice and the other drink was a Carmel latte that I heard was very delicious. My usual breakfast place is not open on Mondays so after running some errands this morning, I decided to drop in to Drago's kitchen and give it a try. Seated quickly and pleasantly, then immediately offered coffee. Nicely done, the coffee is good. My server then told me about a few specials this morning, and then I ordered the classic eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. The chef said hello on his way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The eggs Benedict is excellent and comes piled with shaved ham, a beautifully poached egg on top of an English muffin with plenty of hollandaise. As I believe everything is better with bacon, my side of bacon was a beautiful compliment I would gladly come back and find this spot a pleasant place to enjoy a solid breakfast. read more

Super cute new family restaurant in town. We arrived for lunch at 2, so we had the place to ourselves. One of the owners waited on us... I wish I remembered her name. She was very nice and did a great job. I had the special vegetable hash with eggs, that we were told will be making its way to the permanent menu. I asked for 2 extra eggs (to meet my protein macros), so when you look at the photo, know that's double the amount of eggs you get with that dish. It was delicious! My lunch buddy had the chicken salad sandwich and enjoyed it. She ordered the sweet potato tots to go with it, which carried a $3 up charge... they were so tasty I highly recommend ordering them with anything you get here! lol. "And it seems like, yes it feels like A brand-new day" (Van Morrison) It sure is a brand-new day for breakfast and lunch options in the Farmington Valley with the addition of Drago's Kitchen. They're open Wednesday through Monday from 6 am to 2 pm and their menus are loaded with some terrific (and very affordable) breakfast and lunch options. We just came back from a totally enjoyable $28.89 lunch that consisted of a Chicken Salad Sandwich ($12) and a Muffuleta Salad ($15). My wife had some concerns about the spiciness of the advertised Chipotle Aioli on her sandwich, so our server Melanie (more on her later), ran back to the kitchen to ask the chef about it. She reported that the aioli wasn't spicy at all, and the chicken was "pre-dressed" with it, but if my wife didn't like it, he'd make up a new unsullied batch just for her. How awesome was that? Well, she liked the sandwich and the chips and slaw and pickle that came with it. The sandwich was big and a fantastic value at just $12. My Muffuletta Salad was huge - a big heaping portion of Romaine, spinach, cucumber, diced olives, pepperoncini, capicola, genoa, ham, feta cheese, roasted red peppers, and focaccia croutons in a red wine vinaigrette. My salad was fantastic with quite a bit of the meats and cheese on top of the pile. Half of both lunches came home with us, so we are getting four portions for our $29. Now, let's talk about this FIVE STAR rating. The food and value sure contributed to my experience. But equally so was our delightful server Melanie, or "Mel" as she asked us to address her. She was as engaging and friendly as could be. I swear she made me feel like a long lost relative or school mate! Another reason for our enjoyment was Bella - the pint-sized two-and-a-half-year-old daughter of the owners who absolutely enchanted us with her adorableness. Super impressed by the brunch we had at Drago's Kitchen! This spot opened about six months ago and is already experiencing wait times on the weekends. Chef Drago makes almost everything in-house, and you can taste the quality in all of his cooking. It's not often you see so much creativity shine through on the menu for a breakfast/lunch eatery, but options like breakfast corn dogs, a burger topped with in-house smoked roast beef, and homemade cheddar biscuits really caught our eye. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best we've had in CT, and the corned beef hash was real, not from a can! I came today for the first time and we were so impressed! The staff is very welcoming. The food was flavorful and fresh. I had the Italian job sandwich on focaccia with the most sinfully amazing homemade chips. My dining partner had chicken and waffles which is her go to at any restaurant and she said this was the best one ever! My husband and I went to Dragos for breakfast and were both impressed by the quality of the food, atmosphere and staff! My husband had the Farmers breakfast and was brought out fresh raspberry jam for the toast, he loved it! A First Impression That Will Be Our Last We had high hopes for Drago's Kitchen. The restaurant has enjoyed a steady stream of praise in local circles, especially on community Facebook groups, and we were genuinely looking forward to supporting a Granby business that's new and seemingly thriving. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but reflective of the hospitality and organization one expects from a restaurant now one year into operations. We arrived a little after 11 a.m. on a Sunday. The small front lobby was already holding several parties -- two waiting to be seated, two waiting on takeout, and ourselves. What it wasn't holding, however, was anyone managing the front. For a full five minutes, there was no hostess or staff member present to acknowledge or guide guests. When the hostess finally emerged, she apologized to a takeout customer -- apparently his food had taken so long she was offering free muffins. That was our introduction to Drago's Kitchen. We were added to the waitlist and stood there for approximately 25 minutes. In that time, several tables opened up, and more guests filtered in and added themselves to the list. What stood out -- painfully -- was how little urgency there was to seat anyone. The hostess appeared far more focused on chatting with familiar faces than turning over tables or ensuring the lobby was being managed efficiently. Guests were visibly uncomfortable and uncertain about the status of their wait. Then came one of the more telling moments of our visit: an older gentleman came to the counter to pay and was asked how his bagel was. He replied, politely, that he had never received it but had to leave to tend to his laundry at the laundromat next door. Only after this exchange did the server take a bagel over to him. While it was a kind gesture to follow up, the fact that a simple item like a bagel couldn't make it out of the kitchen before a customer was ready to leave speaks volumes about the kitchen's efficiency -- or lack thereof. Shortly after, we overheard the hostess telling another group that they had pulled a cook off orientation early and were possibly regretting it. While I understand staffing challenges exist, that's not something guests should ever hear -- especially when delays and disorder are already obvious. Eventually, the couple ahead of us was seated. Another table opened soon after -- a booth -- but instead of seating us (next on the list), the hostess gave it to a larger group that had just walked in. Apparently, their party size matched the booth better. But the message was clear: time spent waiting was irrelevant, and there was no consistent standard for seating priority. At that point, we chose to leave. What This Says to Your Guests This isn't just a service issue. It's a systems issue. A year into business, a restaurant should have clear protocols: greeting guests promptly, honoring the order of the waitlist, turning tables efficiently, and ensuring back-of-house and front-of-house are aligned. What we experienced was avoidable and embarrassing -- not because it was a busy day, but because there was no visible leadership or accountability. Restaurants succeed or fail not just on the quality of their food, but on whether guests feel valued. On this visit, we didn't just feel undervalued -- we felt invisible. You get one chance to make a first impression. Drago's Kitchen squandered theirs. We won't be back. read more

Let me start by saying, I think the food is going to be great here. Despite being busy, the wait on the weekend we went really wasn't that bad; however, the restaurant is fairly small so I wouldn't recommend for large groups especially during peak hours. Some of the food was a bit lukewarm and service was a bit slow, but I think that may be a growing pain. Can't wait to try again once the location has been open for a bit! read more

I have never been moved to write a review before but the stellar food, ambiance and service at Drago's compels me to make this first time effort. The food was outstanding. I love omelets and I can honestly say I have never had one this good. Swiss cheese, onions and mushrooms were so tasty and fresh. I got the cheddar roll and it was perfectly grilled and we had his home made little sugar added berry jam that just suited it to perfection. The corned beef hash, which I had never had before, was delicious. The prices were reasonable and there was little wait. The menu is so interesting, it took us a while to decide as there were several unusual offerings that looked fabulous. The place is immaculately clean, looks brand new and the service was top notch. Finally made it to Drago's Kitchen today. Best meal we've had in a long time. The restaurant is clean, the staff were friendly, attentive and informed about the menu. The food was excellent. I first tasted my home fries. They were perfectly cooked and I could tell that the chef had added a unique touch to make them different than any other home fries I've ever had. The same is true for the pancakes. My partner said it was the best he's ever had. I tried it and I have to agree. Again, there was a unique touch that made it stand out from all others.
